We tried the tasting menu at the first visit and the experience was great. It took us about 3 hours to go through the courses and the wait staffs were really helpful throughout the time we were there. My personal favourite was the duck breast, it was just so much layers of flavour!

Hidden gem tucked away in the city. What a find! Amazing ambience with professional and friendly services. You can tell people there are proud to be there and it comes through to the dishes. This place is much larger than I thought. The private function room looks super cool too. Will come back for more French!

Atmosphere was nice and staff friendly. The quality of the food was evident in all dishes, eye for detail was also present. A French menu that isn't very large, 5 or 6 mains, but none of them caught my attention. I didnt have that feeling of I want to it eat "that". I wouldn't go back

I love the restaurant as it felt like a real fortress, big stone walls and impressive wine cellar. We had a private dinning room which felt very special and cosy. The food was divine and superb service. I will definitely come back.

We had a lovely dinner here. The food was very delicious, especially the sauces. The fish dishes in particular were cooked perfectly. Service was friendly and quick. Very enjoyable night.

Went with my partner and decided to try the set menu. It was one of the best restaurant experiences we had in Australia so far. The place itself is very special being underground giving you the feel of an old wine cellar. The service was great, very knowledgeable wait stuff. The pate and the scallops were out of this world, we highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely come back to try other items in the menu that looked very tempting.

This was the best meal of my life and it wasn't even that dear. 200 bucks for two people, stuffed to the brim with rich French food, two gorgeous cocktails and a fine glass of red wine - you can spend a lot more on a lot less in Brisbane. The restaurant is beautiful and the service is top-notch. 11/10.

My partner and I had dinner here for the first time to celebrate his birthday and we will definitely be back! It's has an intimate setting and lovely atmosphere. Staff are friendly and the food is incredible! Only downside is the limited parking on site however once inside it's all worth it. If you go I highly recommend the Roquefort Brulee 😍

The food is beyond exceptional. Yes it's a bit pricey. But it's a real treat. The duck with cherry was out of this world!

Great French restaurant in Spring Hill! Firstly the staff here are excellent, very warm and welcoming and quick with advice in relation to the menu. Secondly the wine list is extraordinarily good! The list of burgandy wines goes for pages. Luckily the sommelier was excellent and pointed us towards an very good wine after discussing our taste preferences. Finally the food is really good here. Highlights of the evening were the Roquefort brulee and the cheese souffle. This restaurant comes recommended.

I have never in my life posted a review before but the dismal service I experienced from this restaurant warranted this. I called a couple of months ago to reserve a table as a gift for my sister’s birthday. The lady I spoke to was distracted and short on the phone but we booked in a date for a tasting menu with matched wines. I asked if I could pay in advance. She mentioned this was possible but seemed flustered so I offered to send an email to sort this out. I immediately sent an email to confirm the reservation and complete the payment, to which I never received a reply. Closer to the date, my sister unfortunately had to push the dinner back a few weeks. When she did attend the dinner, she was informed that they could not offer the tasting menu. Further, she was told that matched wines are not offered even though I was clearly told on the phone that they were. When the staff were questioned, they said they made a mistake and forgot to copy over to the new date that a tasting menu was requested. The staff did not even apologise for the mistake and they even went so far as to suggest that the courses could all be ordered separately instead. All in all, I am beyond disappointed with the service here and would actively discourage people from giving this place a go.

Hard core classic French cuisine. Bistro style Ambience and lighting is perfect. almost felt like we were in a cave in the burgundy cellars. We had the tasting menu great value at $95 so we upped the ante given their impressive Burgundy range 🍷 😛😆-- had the classics- coquille st Jacques, soufflé, duck a L’orange, crème brûlée. All were excellent. Great range of French wines especially burgundy (our favourite) Coming back to taste other dishes

Great restaurant, atmosphere and top quality dishes. Food was perfectly cooked. Service from Roman was 200%. I called the receptionist at 8:45pm and they told me to come by 9pm or no later. Usually most of the restaurants closed by 8pm in Brissy by then. Anyway as a business owner I always see the quality and how the service standards are, what I can say is this is beyond perfect. Friendly reception staff and Roman was energetic and customer focused with great friendly fast service. He is really a value to this business. I would recommend this place 100% or am I allow to say 200%? Thanks for your remarkable hospitality guys! Sorry guys the pictures are not perfect as I had to digs in to the food as it was so tasty. Tasteful decor and a warm interior, along with attentive and friendly wait staff made this restaurant altogether very welcoming. Being one of my first experiences with French cuisine, I had a fantastic taste explosion, not to mention presentation was on point for all my dishes. Can't wait to return for more.

We live in a beautiful country called Australia. However, it is quite challenging to find a decent restaurant which would provide the right European atmosphere. French restaurants, in particular most of them serve delicious meals and represent professional customer service but most of them are pretty much similar which is boring... The most annoying part is that they all play cheap and stupid pop music that you listen from the radio every single day. La Cache à Vín! I gotta admit that so far this is the best restaurant that my partner and I have ever visited! A peace of little France in Brisbane with the most beautiful interior, amazingly cooked meals and French music! Nothing can be better! We are definitely coming back!

Upon entering you are reminded of a vintage French cellar . Beautiful decor, impeccable service, however the food lacks the subtle flavours of French cuisine. It was as if the food was trying too hard to match the quality all around it. - Vol au Vent d'escargots could've done with a little less sauce - Cervelles Panées was good but too brainy ;P - Caille Rôtie looked more impressive in the description - Beef Rossini, beef was cooked to perfection, WA truffles not the best since there are better available in terms of flavour, the brioche at the bottom seemed like an unnecessary addition - Crème Brûlée was very nice however Sono still takes the crown - Poire Belle-Hélène, was not so Belle - Châteauneuf-du-Pape Château de la Gardine was absolutely stunning After mostly hearing rave reviews about this from Thierry's time we really had higher expectations but it fell quite short in terms of my french taste buds, no Michelin here. A good experience overall and would go back for the atmosphere and wine selection.

Today they ruined my partner's birthday dinner, and then, after they say this review, they send me the message in the photo. I had a booking for today at 6pm, to celebrate this occasion. I called the landline number 7 times between 10:30am and 1pm., and their mobile number 2 times, as I needed to change the booking to 6:30pm. No one had the decency to pick up the phone. After I started complaining through SMS, they finally called me, just to blame the situation on me because of me not leaving a message, instead of them actually picking up the phone. I felt so insulted that I ended up cancelling the booking, and now I'm trying to get a new option for dinner.

We dined at La Cache a Vin on Bastille Day for the first time. We had read all the reviews and we had high expectations and I'm happy to say the fixed menu and the service lived up to our expeclations. The food was amazing and the staff helped out with wine pairings which made the night very enjoyable.

Incredible experience. I was sceptical about booking into this restaurant because I had seen some very intense and opinionated reviews. My curiosity was piqued and I had to find out for myself. Headed here on a whim for lunch and was wowed at every turn. Great service, great ambiance and incredible offerings. Seamless experience. Opted for the pre set menu aka degustation. Paired with complimentary wines. Satisfying dish are after satisfying dish; absolute satisfaction. Adding this gem to the list of regular haunts.

This was the best French food I have had, outside of France! Classics all done at the highest level- such rich, intense and delicious classic onion soup, quail to die for and of course creme brulee that makes the right sound as you break the surface and the right yummy sounds are made as you eat it. Great wines by the glass and extensive, well chosen full wine list. Staff amongst the most professional in Brisbane, at a time where all restaurants are struggling to get professional and knowledgeable staff this place has the lot! Will make it my regular everytime I come to Brisbane.

Classic French bistro style restaurant. The waiter/waitress are also French making the atmosphere quite good. Food is at standard other than the steak is a bit over cooked and the supposedly fish with “crispy skin” wasn’t crisp at all. Wine list is pretty good with a long list of Pinot noir to choose from.

Brick walls and dim lights, this place has a mysterious and historical feel to it. Felt like we were dining in an underground cellar! Food was great and service in general was good too. However our waitress looked annoyed with us when we got out of our seats a few times to take photos while we were waiting for our food to come out. They have a surcharge for groups over 7 people (stated on their website). A surcharge I've never encountered in other fine dining restaurants, even in Melbourne. "it's quite common and we see it all the time in other restaurants" was the answer I received after questioning it. Overall nice ambience and food. A great place for date nights.

La Cache à Vin in Brisbane City is a hidden gem that offers a memorable culinary experience. The classic French bistro ambiance adds to the charm, creating an intimate setting even amidst the bustling crowd. Each dish we savored was a masterpiece, cooked to perfection and brimming with flavors. From the delightful Soufflé à l'oignon et Fromage sauce Albufera(fluffy soufflé with confit onion, cheese, Foie Gras & Albufera sauce) to the harmonious Coquilles St Jacques au Beurre d'Agrumes (Grilled japanese Scallops with citrus butter), every bite was a delight. The Caille Rôtie with gratin de pâtes, céleri boule & Speck (Roasted Quail, pasta gratin with celeriac & speck, Mornay sauce & Tarragon jus), and the Gratin Dauphinois showcased culinary expertise. The dessert, Pâte à Choux With Hazelnut Crème Mousseline, was a sweet finale that left a lasting impression. To elevate the experience even further, we paired our meal with the Bourgogne Rouge Bertrand Pinot Noir. Its exquisite notes perfectly complemented the dishes, enhancing the flavors and adding a touch of sophistication. The staff’s professionalism and attentiveness, combined with the delightful culinary journey, showcased why La Cache à Vin is not to be missed. They thoughtfully divided our shared main dish and entree into two separate plates, ensuring we could savor each dish without any hassle. With their knowledgeable service, they offer an authentic French experience that tantalizes all the senses.

Lovely French restaurant where the staff are French. Ordered onion soup, scallops, eye fillet Mignon, porcini and mushroom risotto, creme brûlée and chocolate mousse. All were delicious.

  • 5/5 Michael K. 7 months ago on Google
The food speaks for itself, high-quality and delicious. The wine list for me is probably the best in Australia with the options and also the incredibly fair price. One particular Premier cru i have here is $130 and in other restaurants I’ve seen it for $240. This is one pet hate that I have with high-end restaurants in Brisbane - the the markup they put on the wine. And it’s great to go to a wonderful restaurant like La Cache, knowing that you are not being ripped off.

This place is seriously next level! We had the 7 course degustation and every meal was crazy delicious. Service was perfect and probably was the best meal or at least one of the best meals I've ever had! Also had great wine and one of the best espresso martinis I've had as well. An absolute must check out cheers guys!

We went there last night to celebrate my daughter's birthday and we had a wonderful time. On the outside it wasn't impressive as the restaurant is sort of underground but inside it was nicely decorated and has a warm ambient. We ordered salmon tartare, escago, prawn ravioli, seared veal dressed with olives and feta cheese, for main we had orange duck, slow cooked lamb rump, pan fried fish, and smoked chicken and for dessert we shared a cream brulle, poached pear and apple tart. Every dish was generously portioned and tasted heavenly. The staff were friendly and service was great. We definitely will return again.

La Cache à Vín is an absolute treasure, nestling inconspicuously on the corner of an inner-Brisbane business district. If you're quick, there is restaurant parking for a few cars, right outside their entrance door. As a wheelchair user, I was very pleasantly surprised by the easy access, the spacing between tables and the excellent, accessible bathroom facilities. When you enter, you feel like you may have stepped back in time - gentle lighting, historical pieces related to grape production and beautiful aged timber finishes throughout. The staff are superb, each diner is made to feel particularly welcome and personally catered to. I could go on about the fantastic variety, presentation and flavours of the food, the amazing wine list but, really, why don't you visit and see for yourself! I will definitely be coming back to La Cache à Vín! :)
