Delicious Italian vegan food! It is a restaurant located in the West End and is 100% plant based. The customer service is very good, the staff is very friendly and they care a lot that you are enjoying the place. The food is very delicious and the presentation is very nice. With my partner, we ordered some pizzas to share, we opted to try the Bianca Mugic Mushroom and the Italian Nightmare. Also, for dessert we ordered Cannoli and Panna Cotta. The food was very good, many flavors, we would order the dishes again and we will be back soon to try the other dishes. The place is small, but it has tables inside and outside the place. I highly recommend it!

Nonna’s Nightmare is definitely one of the best vegan restaurants in Brisbane. Everything is really tasty, pizzas, pasta … there is no wrong choice possible ! A big plus, it’s one of the rare restaurant who closes later the weekend and we love that ! Only cons, the starters are really small and expensive.

First time trying it out and loved it! We ordered the Italian nightmare and Potato pizzas, we liked the potato pizza the most, there was more toppings than the Italian nightmare but really enjoyed the flavours on Italian nightmare- only feed back, more pineapple please!!! Recommend the Italian apple cider , not a sweet cider at all which was a nice change for a sweet tooth like me. The service was impeccable, everyone was lovely there. And the interior design was very minimalist and had a bougie vibe ✨ Will be back to try other pizzas 😁 I guess in the future, I would like to see more gluten free options if possible.✌️

Truly exceptional dining experience! Do yourselves a favour and get down to Nonna’s Nightmare ASAP. The food here is cruelty free, absolutely scrumptious and definitely satisfied my Italian comfort food craving. We had the lasagna bites entree special - so good we hope they make them a permanent menu item. I could have eaten twelve of them. Crispy, light, fennel and tomato flavours were a delight. Next up we had the potato pizza and the mushroom pasta. The pizza dough was fragrant and flavourful, the veggies fresh and bright and the ‘mozzarella’ was such a creamy treat - the rosemary oil drizzle really set it off to perfection. The real star was the creamy mushroom pasta. Light, but rich, strong mushroom flavour and perfectly cooked fresh pasta. The sprinkle of crisp breadcrumbs balanced the dish out nicely. We finished off our meal with cool, zesty cannoli, scrumptious nutty/chocolate filling and flaky, crunchy pastry shell. Not too sweet, the perfect way to round out our meal. The service was attentive, efficient and genuinely welcoming. The atmosphere chic but casual. The meal was good value for money. A new West End favourite of ours - and 100% vegan to boot! Thank you for a lovely Sunday lunch, we will definitely be back.

The food here was amazing! I took my family here (who are all big time meat eaters) and they raved about it. Everything tasted so good, was honestly the best Italian I've had in awhile, vegan or not! Definitely coming back.

As a non vegan I was extremely impressed by the foods served here. All starters were super tasty especially the Focaccias, they were the real deal. Couldn’t taste the difference between real and vegan, well done! Crumbed stuffed olives and Arancini balls also were excellent. Pizza and Ravioli mains didn’t disappoint. Finished the dinner with Frangelico Tiramisu and Panna cotta which again exceed my expectations. Can recommend this place to both vegans and non vegans alike!

Nonna’s DREAM!!! If you are in search of a fantastic dining experience entirely encapsulating the best of Italian dining I highly recommend Nonna’s Nightmare in west end. A dear friend and myself arrived sans reservation (something I seldom do) as we were hoping to score a table for three to include my partner who was en route. Upon greeting and being welcomed to the restaurant we were asked if we had a reservation. We expressed our apologies and mentioned we understood it was a Friday so understandable if they were booked, however we were after a table for three. The lady who we unfortunately didn’t catch the name of checked what she could do for us and shortly bought us to a table! Guests began to fill in around 6:00 and it was evident that this last minute walk in was pure luck!! Once my partner arrived we were bought water for the table with a clean taste and crisp cool temp. We were unsure what to order so asked the lovely Sammy of which her best recommendations were. My partner got the Classico burger for himself and we got the stuffed battered olive’s with truffle Mayo as Well as the arancini for the table. (Pictured below) both were absolutely fantastic. My favourite of the two being the olives. They were a perfect blend of flavours and textures! Soon after our mains arrived, I chose the Vesuvio pizza, on top of a perfectly crisp and fluffy thin base of focaccia rested a delightful assortment of plant based Mozzarella, Friarielli, Spicy Sausage, Black Olives and Pecorino. This resulted in an absolute flavour overload! One of the best pizzas I’ve had in memory. We finished with a vegan cannoli and lemon meringue cheesecake which were demolished before any photos could be taken - enough said. I cannot praise this place enough! Sammy you were an absolute gem and we can’t wait to come back!

Absolutely amazing food! The service was fantastic too, lovely staff. Had I not been told everything was vegan, I honestly wouldn’t have known. The gnocchi was incredible, wish I could eat this every day. Can’t wait to go back!

This restaurant is a must try for vegans and non vegans alike! Anyone who tries this restaurant will enjoy the delicious food here! I absolutely love Italian food and the team at Nonna’s Nightmare really set the benchmark high! The restaurant is really easy to get to and has a cool atmosphere. Kind of feels a bit Sydney / Melbourne vibes which is great to see here in Brissy! We got the arancini balls, ravioli al tartufo and one of the rossa pizzas and loved each meal. We also attended the valentines dinner set menu earlier in the year which we thoroughly enjoyed as well!

Divine vegan Italian comfort food, that accommodates diverse dietary requirements. We ate: truffle ravioli; charred broccolini; crumbed olives; artichoke with whipped feta; and tiramisu. All were delicious and cooked perfectly. Good flavours, good textures, not noticeably “vegan tasting”, just fresh delicious ingredients. Meal was about $80 (no booze), staff friendly and swift, I’d recommend this place in a heartbeat and will be back.

Excellent food. You know there isn't dairy on it, but the sauces, toppings and pizza are base are all so great. Really recommend particularly if you're after a vegetarian and dairy free option that doesn't leave you wanting

Nonna’s nightmare serves the Italian food of my dreams. We tried the pizza and gnocchi, both dishes were delicious. As a vegan turned vegetarian, I’ve tried many different meat and cheese substitutes in my time, but the ones used here are top tier. The spicy marg and amaretto sour drinks we ordered were very tasty. Also, the waitresses were super friendly and attentive. Thank you to the staff for a lovely evening!

Food was decent, good variety of flavours but a bit dull and expensive. The foccacia starter was good, the gnocchi was just ok, Ravioli had good flavour but very small portion. Cannoli was basically stale and the cream in the middle was grainy. It was very loud in the resturant (we were sitting inside, our reservation was just after they opened) because of the music being played.

THE SERVICE! Oh my god. Never in my life have I felt more looked after without feeling like they were checking in too much. I actually walked away thinking to myself how I have never been given a new napkin at a restaurant before, it seems so simple and yet it’s never happened until I came here! Also, the food is insaaaaaaaaaaane. I’m not vegan and I honestly couldn’t tell the difference in the animal product substitutes. My pizza had three different types of “cheese” and they were all absolutely amazing. The food is prepared so well and the flavours are off the charts. 6 stars.

Great vegan place with some interesting pizza options. For some reason the water tasted really good in their weighted copper tumblers... Also, the vanilla panna cotta is delicious! Highly recommended!

The New Menu has arrived and it’s even more delicious than the previous menu! How is this even possible. There is no shortage of delicious food that is presented like receiving an award. It’s beautiful to look at and you can’t really believe that it’s plant based! The service team are there when you need them. The perfect balance of nice, knowledgeable and helpful but always the ultimate professionals. Review from August 2022 Probably a bunch of liars, but delicious liars if they are! Incredible meal This week as I left work (a couple of shops up) I was literally handed takeaway meatballs and sticky date pudding. I started with dessert first, those little pieces moist pudding pieces combined with the dryness of a cake to mop up the most incredible caramel sauces ever made on her majesty’s great lands. Note. (If you are going to devour the sticky date pudding anywhere someone might see you, order them their own. This dish is hard to share 10/10 Meatballs consists of two key parts (for me - I’m not a nonna obviously) 1. How delicious it was, as every family has a red sauce and I can tell you, this family’s nonna must have been a national red sauce award winner! Light, bold, clean, rounded it’s like the sauce was a magic carpet with some little precious cargo hidden for protection. 2. Plant base meat can’t make me feel like I’m eating lettuce (at todays prices, who could?!) the meatball felt like I was eating a very clean, flavours full version. If you didn’t tell me. I wouldn’t have know, or they are putting meat in and having been lying about it! Having grown up in the beef capital of Australia and getting more then my share of Australia’s best beef over the years, I am impressed and you will too!!

This place 😘🤌… Firstly the chef, is world class . The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable and have a genuine love for the food on the menu. The drinks selection is well above average. I highly recommend for everyone, not just Vegans. 10/10. Would recommend the $55 degustation option so you can try a bunch of their menu. Perfecto!

Some of the best Italian food I've ever had. We had a pizza and pasta dish and they were both sublime. The tiramisu was delicious 🤤. If you're in Brisbane it's a must visit.

The food was really really delicious and super flavourful. I ordered the vodka pasta rigatoni, crumbed olives (not pictured) and the pear chocolate cake for dessert. The pasta was so flavourful and yummy and the sauce was mopped up with bread. The crumbed olives had a wonderful texture and taste with the truffle mayo. The cake was so soft and spongy and reminded me of banana bread but it was so much better. Overall an excellent meal. The service was a bit slow but it was a busy night so it was understandable.

Can't rate this place highly enough. After being vegan for 3.5 years I've really missed Italian food - this was divine and as good as the best I ever remember having. For the quality I think the pricing is very reasonable. Can't wait to go again!

Service was great and well on point, food... Devine. The richness of the flavours, the juicy succulence, the crsip of perfection. Soooo good. And the G&T neat. The only downside is the noisy street, but then again, it let's you know the city is alive.

Delicious AF. I have been twice so far with friends and my partner and both times I've been very, very impressed. Quite possibly my favourite pizza ever. And the pasta is equally as tasty! I've been waiting for a vegan Italian restaurant for eight years now! Will be going back again soon for some burgers! We plan to move through the entire menu :D The service is impeccable and the time from placing your order to when the food gets to your table is the fastest I've ever had. An absolute must visit even if you're not vegan. I can't recommend Nonna's Nightmare enough!

My partner and I went here for our 4 year anniversary and I just want to say - this place is AMAZING! Great food and great service. This place is NOT to be missed by both Vegan’s and non Vegan’s alike. I read a previous review mentioning the water tasting amazing here and thought it was a joke - but I was so wrong. Even the WATER tastes amazing here!

We had high expectations, and they were exceded! The pizzas bases are delightfully light and fluffy and crisp, I can't even explain how good they were! Also had the ravioli which did not seem to be vegan at all - but its all vegan! Delicious. And don't get me started on the tiramisu.... That was the whole reason we went, and it was incredible. Fantastic Italian house Red, and super friendly efficient staff. You must go here if you appreciate good Italian food!

We had such a wonderful night. From the moment we were greeted the service was so personable. Julia was attentive, funny and her cocktail crafting skills on the night were on point! The food was magical, every dish built on such a warm, homely Italian flavour. The pasta and pizza in particular were sensational. The birthday boy (not vegan) and I had such a lovely time, we left blown away by the high service levels, impeccable food, relaxed vibe and beautifully curated drinks. Thank you so much 😊

Accurate restaurant name and great food. $55 banquet was great value and we especially enjoyed the appetisers, especially the focaccia and feta combo. The pizzas looked appealing, but taste wise just didn't hit the mark. Maybe less fake meat toppings and just more plain veggies? I'm told the burgers are winners so I'll try them next time.

Had my birthday dinner here. It was a nice dining experience- but just a little feedback...the beans were a little overdone and gnocchi was a little on the mushy side as opposed to pillowy. Otherwise, delicious!

I've been to Nonna's twice now and easily the best Italian joints I've been too and everything is vegan! The staff is super friendly, food is amazing and would recommend the sticky date too. Make sure to book ahead. They have parking on the adjacent streets.

loved this place! all plant based vegan menu. pretty expensive so maybe only go for nice occasions. the staff were nice. some of the dishes were AMAZING. some were just okay. def would recommend the torta chocolate cake over the tiramisu (even though tiramisu is my favorite dessert) also the gnocchi is to die forrrrr

It's nice to have another vegan restaurant to go to. I will highly rate their arrachinni balls, they were a fantastic start, but that's where it ended. Took my brothers and wife there, we waited about 20 minutes past our booking time which sometimes can't be helped. If I was to be honest, the crisps were burnt and when this was mentioned the service staff didn't really take that in. The pizzas were ok but need more wholesome flavours. We have so many vegies and herbs at our disposal, I found it lacked a lot of these basics. The gnocci tasted like tomato pasata sauce used straight out of the bottle, no deep flavours, just a rich tomato base. I hope they step up their game, as I would like to return again to keep more vegan businesses alive.

Fantastic service, food is amazing. My only criticism is that the whole experience would be so much better in an actual restaurant rather than a well maintained and well presented whole in the wall on boundary street.

Excellent. Excellent. Excellent. My second visit here and once again I was impressed. Good selection of pizza and pasta and everything looks and tastes housemade. We absolutely loved everything we had! Hard to choose, but our favourite burger was the Parmigiana - eggplant for the win! And the Greeno wasn't far behind, loved the special sauce with the alfalfa sprouts 😋 The best part of the mush pasta was the herb crumble that made a HUGE difference. Crunchy is always a MUST 👌🏻

Really good food! One of the best places I dined in here in Brisbane. It’s a busy restaurant so you count on reservations — this I hope they can improve over time since it took us 20 mins of wait despite having a reservation. They offered us to share with a group table which for me defeats the purpose of booking ahead of time. It’s probably ok if we’re walk ins ... but overall food is good :)

I'm conflicted. I have had two of the mains, the burger and the mushroom pasta. They were excellent, though I wish the servings were a bit more substantial. It seems like they're encouraging you to eat one of the desserts. The desserts however are fantastic! I love the tiramisu and my 5 stars is for this dessert alone. My housemate loves the Panna Cotta. I'm not sure I will go again for a main, but I will definitely grab a dessert on the occasion.

I’m not sure if I would call this an “Italian” restaurant, it is what its name suggests, Italian inspired food but no longer Italian. What self respecting Nonna would serve an exclusive vegan menu anyway (ok I’m sure some might but it’s a gross breach of tradition). Then there are the burgers on the menu. The pasta is excellent (and if no one told you you’d probably think it included meat). The pizzas were impressive as were the salads. The kids menu too is spot on. Friendly service and a nice dining area all top of a good casual meal.

We had an absolutely delicious lunch here. The waiter was friendly and welcoming. My partner who is a meat eater loved all the food here as well. Our feast included the puttanesca pizza, funghi pasta, potato chips and plain jane & greeno burger and all were YUM!! I am also happy to report the pizza passed the "cold pizza for breakfast" test as well! Wonderful work Nonna's Nightmare!
