Great place for a walk, some fun time for kids and parents. I'm told that the pond gets converted as an ice skating venue. Considering it's location, it's a real lung for the city to breathe.

Really nice experience with the Palace always within view. The park is friendly with walkers and joggers in the morning and evenings. Drink and snack venues throughout. Basketball court and playgrounds. Seems like it could be mowed and maintained a little better but overall nice.

Inside this large park with Parliament views is a large playground built like a castle with slides, ropes, and more. My six-year-old daughter didn’t want to leave. There are two outhouses nearby in case you need to use the restroom!

a nice quiet park in the city’s heart, where you can have a panoramic view of the parliament. it is near to the Izvor metro station and you can bring your hammock or a picnic blanket to enjoy a good book or spend time with your friends or family

This park is one of the least favourites of Bucharest. I wish there was more investment in it, like - trees, toilets, facilities. It is, after all, right near the Parliament (House of People). In summary: If you want shade, playgrounds, dog parks, toilets - stay on the metro / river side of the park. The rest of the park is quite barren, without facilities and very quiet.

Rather small park, calm and relatively simple, with very nice trees, and some beautiful flower beds. Some parts with not much grass. The playground is great, suitable for kids of all ages, even saw teens (or tweens) having fun there, as well as toddlers.

A nice large park right next to the palace of parliament. Originally, this area was also a part of Nicolae Ceaușescu’s complete design including the palace of parliament, the fountains, the big square across the palace etc. There is a wide lawn, paved pathways, children’s playground, benches, a concrete table tennis board and area where exercises and other activities can be performed. The park has a road across which is the area of palace of parliament at one side and a road across which is the canal.

A little park next to the palace of parliament. It’s very average; the only special features are the view of the palace and the playground. The playground is large and in the shape of a castle which is very cool and fun for kids. My only issue is that there were a lot of older teenagers around that I didn’t feel like I could let my children roam free independently.

A central park with a very good position, metro access, few parking spots usualy free on weekends. Park is less crowded because it lacks attraction points, the kids playgrounds are old without maintenance. If you plan a relaxing walk or fitness/run go for it. Pets and picnic friendly.

It's a great park, with a generous playground, 2 sport areas for basketball and lots of aleys to walk on. No matter the season, it's nature.

A nice park where you can hang either all by yourself, digesting your thoughts, or you can hang out with your friends and family there! A variety of small shops is found there, you can enjoy a picnic, take the kids for a stroll, do some sports, or whatever you enjoy in a park.

Grand building the house of parliament, shame it's not open to visitors. The park is huge and a lovely walk. Needs some care to bring it up to a visitor attraction. The junctions and round abouts need better lanes and coordination as crossing the roads are a death sentence waiting to happen. Apart from that Bucharest is a gorgeous with loads of history behind it.

Un parc așa de mare nu are un sistem de stropire automatizat, de aceea se simte praful în parc, în ciuda faptului că cei care se ocupă de întreținere o fac cu conștiinciozitate. Parcul are și spații de joacă, bine întreținute.

The park is relatively young. Really nice trees, with a great set of alleys that facilitate jogging, rollerblading or going with a skateboard. At least some of the alleys ar good for that. What it lacks, from my perspective, is the difference in the height of the landscape.

Pros: Nice, quiet park. Has lots of playgrounds. Has football/basketball grounds. A lot of greenery. There are some food carts with nachos(sometimes), popcorn, cotton candy, liquids and others. Cons: At night it's very poorly lit. Only some paths are lit properly. Lots of people with dogs outside the dog areas.

(Translated by Google) Izvor Park is located on the right bank of the Dâmbovița River, near the Parliament Palace. The park area is delimited by United Nations Boulevard, Liberty Boulevard, Bogdan Petriceicu Hasdeu Street and Splaiul Independenței. The story of the park began in the mid-1980s, where on the site of the current park was the Mihai-Voda Hill, on which was built the Mihai Voda Monastery and an old neighborhood called Uranus. The area was destroyed by the communists for the modernization of the capital at that time. The plan involved the construction of the Parliament Palace, the buildings for various surrounding institutions and the Civic Center. At that time, they also wanted to build a conference and reception hall, which is why the hill was leveled, the monastery and the bell tower were moved and hidden behind blocks of flats, towards the bank of Dâmboviţa, on Sapienței Street. The cells of the monastery and the rest of the buildings on the hill, the Palace of State Archives, the archeological site, the New Court from the time of Alexandru Ipsilanti, the Institute of Theoretical Chemistry, which collapsed in the 1977 earthquake and was not rebuilt, were demolished. With the 1989 revolution, the project to build a conference and reception hall was blocked and the area was abandoned. A few years later, in the 1990s, the area was landscaped, trees were planted and alleys were made, so the place looked like a green terrace of the Parliament Palace. It was named Izvor Park. It has a rectangular shape and an area of 17 hectares. Almost 3 hectares are covered by alleys and the others are covered with grass. In 2010, the Children's Palace was placed in the park, a playground of 2,400 square meters in the form of a fairytale castle. A year later, the authorities together with over 200 volunteers planted in Izvor Park over 320 trees (birch, chestnut, oak, maple, magnolia, willow) to mark the International Year of Volunteering. And the year 2012 came with something new in Izvor Park: an alley named after the Czech politician Václav Havel.

One of the better parks in Bucharest. It is conveniently placed very close to everything; the Old Town and the Constitution Square and 2 metro stations. The only thing I do not like is that the trees are small and in the summer you can hardly find any shade.

  • 2/5 Andrei D. 2 years ago on Google
A very large park that was built over the demolished Uranus neighborhood in the communism times. The park has very few benches. The public toilets stink and are gross. At night the lighting is spotty at best. Some areas are not lit at all. It resembles an abandoned patch of land that has some alleys and random trees. 50% of the paths are not paved, just walk on soil.

Definitely visit “Casa Popurlui”. Any foreigner should learn about its history and every Romanian will feel weird about it. I personally think it’s now part of its history and we should embrace it. It represents a big part of Romanian culture, whether you like it or not.

A beautiful parc, not to big, next to Parliament Palace and metro station Izvor. It has long alleys for walking or riding bikes, a castle shape playground for kids , a dog area, and 2 baskeball zones. In the last years trees where planted and now it will be better with shadow in the summer.

  • 5/5 G. A. 1 year ago on Google
When I was a kid I used to come in this park a lot. Of course, then all I was interested in was the swings, slides etc. Now I go in this park from time to time to find some inner peace in the city. I'm going to admit it, it's not as good as some other parks at completely taking you out of the stressing life (you can still hear cars even in the middle of the park, after all the park is surrounded by streets).

  • 4/5 Violetta S. 2 years ago on Google

  • 4/5 Adrian P. 1 year ago on Google
A small park in the middle of Bucharest, not crouded, just good for a walk or a morning jogging. I like to walk there, but the problem is that there are no designated parking places for the cars, so just if you are lucky you may find a place on the sidewalk. Some benches and just a few flowers. People walking theirs dogs too. On one side is close to the underground metro train and is well connected to public transportation. Generally clean, but avoid to run on the alley with the two chemical public toilets because of the odour.

  • 4/5 Ioan O. 1 year ago on Google
This park offers some impressive views of the Parliament building. Although the park is quite central and even has it’s own Metro station, it doesn’t offer much protection from the sun, as the trees are quite rare and far apart. You do get some better shaded alleys, but in the hot hours of the day, during the summer, I found this to not be a good place to cool down. You can find some refreshments around as well and public toilets that are reasonably clean.

  • 4/5 Ivan B. 1 year ago on Google
Good place to visit. Sometimes you might see wild animals even in this park in the middle of the city. I love this park and did sport activities there. Parents might also enjoy it due to high amount of children playgrounds. On the other hand, it is sad to see so many young trees almost dead due to lack of care.

The park is so much nicer than in the past years, it's not a big one though, recommended for short strolls; the trees have grown and the park lost its communist scent which adds up to the pros from my pov. Besides that, it's near one of the main touristic objectives in Bucharest and it's downtown. Also full of dogs #doglovers

Nice park in springtime. During summer it's too hot, there aren't enough trees to cool it down. Quite a lot have been planted lately, but they're a long time away from being fully grown. There's a playground for kids that looks like a castle. And another one where they can play in sand. What else, two basketball courts, a dog yard, an ice cream stand, drinking water fountains in summer, fresh orange juice vending machine, pastries shop and shawarma nearby.

  • 2/5 David B. 8 months ago on Google
The park was maybe beautiful back then, but right now it's looking like an average facade of the average Romanian building. Looks like an atom bomb was detonated in there. Local government should definitely do something about it.
