DO NOT BOOK. Very bad hotel, filthy. Non existent room service, mould in room, hairs, shower broken, room lock not secure. Signs saying danger of collapsing outside. Signs saying not to leave any valueables in room. Sales manager is a nasty piece of work. Receptionist belongs in a better hotel. AVOID at all costs. Streets would be better.

Honestly, what the hell do you people want and expect more for this price and the location of this place? Sure, it's not the most elite hotel in the world, but everything is decently clean and neat, the breakfast is modest but fine, rooms small and older but everything works and is pretty clean, unless you're too sensitive and can't handle some dust here and there.. the gentleman with a beard at the reception is very nice and kind, the location is also wonderful and every attraction in Budapest is easily reachable by foot or by a metro that is just about 100 meters outside of the hotel. For this price would recommend, ignore the crybabies in other reviews.

The worst hotel I've ever been. We booked a suite and received a double room. The room was dirty, the bathroom filthy and not cleane.. The whole hotel was loud in the night, drunk men in the hallways and couples fighting. The breakfast was literally the worst - undercooked sausage, juice full of sugar and dry bread from the last week. We booked for 1 week and we wanted to cancel after the first night. According to booking, we were able to do so without notice. The receptionist confirmed to us we can do so, but we should do it in the morning with the manager because the card machine doesn't work right now. Next morning: The manager of the hotel said he will never refund us and declined to do so after shouting at us and telling us to go back to our rooms ... unbelievable. He said his receptionist is new and has no idea. Never staying again here. Avoid this place!!

We stayed at this hotel and our experience was just awful. The man in the reception was rude and insolent and the smell in our room was disgusting. The breakfast was revolting, some cold scrambled eggs and dried up cornflakes. I didn't eat at all. They wrote that they have a TV, but unexpectedly, the TV is from the 90's and doesn't work at all. We told the staff about it and they said that it only has 2 channels so it doesn't matter. I won't come back and definitely do not recommend at all!!

I recommend to nobody. I was glad that we left the hotel. The only advantage was the location. And there were many disadvantages ! Horrible breakfast (catastrophic "coffee" - or better said water with something from coffee machine, poor choice of food for breakfast - the cheapest sausages and salamis) The photos of the rooms didn't match with the reality. Noisy environment - we did not sleep well (the windows were facing a busy corridor) Mold in the bathroom Overall, it was the worst hotel I've ever been to. And breakfast as well.

Staff was OK. The whole place including the room smells like a very strong cigarette smoke. Room was not clean and they didn't clean it every day. Even the towels were not changed, though we asked for replacement. Water in the shower didn't sink and it wasn't fixed when we told them about it. It felt like a cheap hostel and not like a 3 stars hotel. Also the drain in the middle of the restroom was open and the smell was unbearable. We asked them to solve it and they didn't fix it. They didn't even suggest us to move to a new room. We had to cover it by ourselves to reduce the smell! About breakfast it was very very poor: one kind of sussage, of cheese, crumbled egg and that's all. At least they had a very nice city view from breakfast.

The room was on the 6th floor directly under the roof. In the summer they should not give out these rooms due to the extreme heat. You could use the mobile airconditioning, but the minute you turn it off the room heats up again because the bathroom floor was approximately 30° due to floor heating (why???). The ac was way to loud to leave on at night. Furthermore the hotel is littered with signs that you should not leave anything in the room because it might get stolen, not a nice idea when leaving the hotel. On top of that you have to leave the key at the reception, so everybody can ask for your key to enter your room because the reception didn't check the name. The fact that everyone can enter the hotel since the bottem floors are appartments doesn't help the safety aspect of it all. The door to the courtyard was always open so everyone could enter the hotel unnoticed. We know this because we used this door and nobody noticed. Also the wifi signal in the room was really bad. Even on 144p YouTube could not load. Breakfast was really blend. 1 type of bread which was old and had to be toasted to be edible. No fruits and the juice all from cartons. To end on a positive note, the location was good and close to a metrostation.

Stay at this hotel in one word? NIGHTMARE. I do not even know where to start. Mold on the walls? Hair on the bed? Extremely dirty floor? Dead bugs in the room? Toothpaste and hair on the sink? Piss drops and hair on the toilet? The whole room smelling like cigarettes? And the cherry on the top when you go to the reception and try to solve the problems the manager starts to be very rude and shout on you. I have never stayed in a place like this ever - it cannot even be call a hotel... Rooms: The images you see are absolutely not the rooms you get! Room was small and very dirty! You have one big towel for your whole stay. If you go ask them to the reception to give you a clean towel they refuse. There is no shampoo nor body wash in the bathrooms. Upon our arrival there were drops of piss on the toilet!!! There were hair and body hair on the bed. The floor was very dirty and there were dead bugs. Wi-fi did not work. Simply disgustings. Rooms are not well issolated so you can hear everything. Service: The lady at the reception can hardly speak english... The personnel at breakfast was very rude and looking angry. Except thw langos there was nothing fresh for breakfast. The cheapest saussages and somethibg that shoyld look like scrambled eggs. And the worst of all the manager of the hotel who was vulgar and started to should on us. This "hotel" is everything you want to avoid. Very dissapoining and I am trully concerned about the hygiene in this place. I believe this hotel does not meet even the basic standards and should be closed down.

Rooms are dirty, they don't clean. The staff is unpolite. Our toilete was clugged, not by our fault, and the person who came to unclogg the toilete left everything dirty and we needed to clean it up. The same man was serving breakfast 2 minutes afterwards. The only plus side of this very disappointing hotel is its good location.

The ONLY good thing about this hotel is the location. Very dirty, rooms are very basic, we went in the summer and it was horrible. It is very central so that helped, but I would never book there and ruin my experience. The breakfast was not nice at all. Plus, one of the guys at the reception (the old one, because the young one was very polite) was VERY rude and disrespectful. Please choose another hotel!

Unfortunately it's way low than a 3 stars hotel. Walls are very thick, you can hear other people's talking, not to mention shower or hairdryer sounds. The room was not clean as It should be. The small carpet near bed was really dirty, had to put it under to avoid it. The room had good heating, but that's all. For 30 euros per night I think you can find something better in the city.

This is not a business, this hotel is a common criminal - they insult you, deceive you with photos, in reality the building and rooms are in a catastrophic condition. I don't know how advertising companies cooperate with this hotel!!! These days, we booked a room, we arrived at the place, the air conditioner was not working, the room was dirty. When we told the admin about it, we still have customers and we don't care about your complaints. They told us to cancel if you want. We canceled and they still charged us a fee!!!

Very bad hotel. Ugly rooms from another age, sticky floors, very bad smell - and the receptionist told us that we had one of the best rooms... Also I was very scared to use the bedding. I really don't recommend this hotel.

the rooms are clean, not well ventilated and have a specific smell, the air conditioning is noisy and you can't sleep.if you don't mind these aspects, the place is ideal for a short visit in this lively city. I will return to this hotel and recommend it to unpretentious travelers

We got yelled at aggressively by the night receptionist over a week ago because we ordered food and couldn’t communicate in Hungarian with the courier (courier didn’t want to give food). The receptionist refused to help and yell ‘keep me out of it’, ‘leave me alone’ and banging on stuff aggressively. Later we called the police to help and he escalated the banging. We were dead scared by him and couldn’t sleep that night. In the morning we filed a complaint and don’t know if he is punished.

If you're booking for the free breakfast, don't! Food is cheap and delicious everywhere in Budapest, but not in the Silver Hotel. We were wrongly put into a twin room, then asked to move to a double - the bed has two single duvet covers, and one of the pillows was a gigantic sofa cushion stuffed into a case. Impossible to sleep with, and staff did not have any other spare. I spent 4 nights using a jumper as a pillow. Positives - Clean. English Speaking staff. Park opposite contains a lovely cafe.

Great location. Just 100 m from metro station. Tasty breakfast and lovely view from canteen balcony. Air conditioning in room works fine especially in hot days.

Basic hotel close to city center. Rooms are rather old-fashioned, but OK for 1 or 2 nights. Breakfast choices are limited so only to wake up after night out.

Basic accomodation. Fantastic location. Spotty wifi. Basic free breakfast - staff that are not bothered to even hear if wifi is not working or the eggs got over for breakfast. Fantastic location - close to Indian spice market.

Very good price value ratio and nice location. Breakfast included (without fruit and vegetable in our case), on the fresh air of you are lucky.

Be carefull. This hotel offers terrible rooms with broken door and furniture burnt by cigars. Rooms not clean, missing toilette paper. Noisy A/C which could not be swiched to other mode. Only brakfast made was acceptable.

Everything was great. The room was spacious, and the staff was great, very friendly, and welcoming. Their breakfast buffet and its staff are very good, and they are refilling the buffet all the time.

Posibly the worst experience you can have in a hotel in Budapest. They gave us the keys to an occupied room with strangers inside, they gave us another room, heater doesn’t work, they made us go into another room to take some blankets, so we are sleeping in a very cold room, with double blankets. The next day they took them from us, didnt fix the heater, neither the bed, and we had to ask again for some blankets. The bathrooms has leaks of water from the WC. The lights dont work properly and the cleaning of the room is quite bad. They didn’t even say sorry to us or change the room to another one with a working heater. The location is top, the service is the worst. If you are staying here, good luck.

Good price and location, not the nicest otherwise. The room was small and the furniture quite old, but pretty clean. The breakfast was nothing special, but you can find something to eat without a problem. If you're on a budget, it's not a bad choice.

This is the worst hotel I have ever visited. The rooms were so dirty and bedsheets were also dirty.they didn't provide room service and cleaning services. When I asked the manger to give us new towels and provide us room service he was so rude and said we didn't clean on a daily basis.. and hell bad breakfast coffee was too bad and cold. All over this is not a place you go for. What shady people and the worst customer service...zero rating from my side.

  • 2/5 Lexi D. 5 months ago on Google
To begin with, upon our arrival and during our stay, there was no bedsheet on our bed, just a cover for the mat. Moreover, there were no towels at our room until 2.5 hours after our check-in and after asking for them and picking them up ourselves. There was no towel switching at turndown service. Shampoos and shower soap were non-existent. They only had hand soap. We were only given 2 bathing towels to last for 3 days and no towel for the hands. The pictures didn't match the room at all. The design the look. The room was old and with thin walls. The bedsheets were also not replaced at any point in 3 days. The breakfast was average at best, with the coffee being un-drinkable.

One of the worst hotels i have ever been. Reminded me of some bad hotels in third world countries, or cheap bordels. Everything was very old, i mean from communism probably, everything barely working. The internet was very bad, the room was very dirty, i found nails and hair on my bed. Sheets and towels were so overused that had holes. House keeping service was none existent, they come to the room but didn't even replace the toilet paper. Rooms were cold and the shower water cold aswell. Walls made of paper, you could hear everyone, housekeeping ladies at 7 in the morning were talking and coughing so loud. In the end, the breakfast was also very poor and bad quality, none cooked sausages, cold eggs and the worst coffee i ever had

Cheap, clean and functional. Breakfast room is pleasant with great skyline views. The last room we had was a little cramped.

Ok for the price range, but only if you reserve way ahead. The location is perfect. Breakfast acceptable. The cleanliness of the rooms can be improved.

It's OK for the price. Great location close to the city centre and bars. Bathrooms need renovation asap. Would appreciate more variety for breakfast and better coffee. If you're on a budget and not too picky, go for it.

The location itself is very good. The room was DIRTY, bed sheets were STAINED and the overall cleanliness was TERRIBLE. Do NOT book this hotel if you care about cleanliness. Breakfast is decent and has somewhat of a variety. The location is very good.

Rooms are really basic and furniture is old and worn, but location is great and breakfast is served at the top floor with an amazing view. Great for short-term stay of non-pretentious guests.

Nice welcome, professional receptionists, assured taxi to the airport. I love the services. However, the rooms smelled a little bit because of the bathroom. Also, at the breakfast I would recommend to include something vegan through all the food. In rest, very good place to stay for 1-2 nights. 😌

  • 3/5 Patrícia H. 1 year ago on Google
Hotel has good location near to city center. Breakfast was good but I recommend add vegetable. Breakfast are on the top of building so it was very nice view. But room and bathroom was dirty. I recommend this place for 1 max 2 nights.

  • 2/5 Norbi J. 2 years ago on Google
The "hotel" is conveniently located, the staff is very friendly. Room was clean but a dark little hole. Windows cannot be opened as they're looking at a busy hallway. The hotel is 1 or 2 floors of a regular residential building, I don't see how it got 3 stars, and how tenants in the building allowed this to exist below and above their living space. OK for a hostel, but if you're looking for a hotel, choose something else.

  • 5/5 Dzana M. 1 year ago on Google
We got very nice, newly renovated room. Everything was clean and nice. The location is great, everyone was really helpful and kind. If I come back, I will stay here again for sure 😊

I stayed in the hotel for two days and although it was not a bad experience itself I would have not recommended it further other than for the financial reasons and the location. I found the single toom to look much simpler and basic than on the internet and one of the complaints I had was locking the door from outside and inside. You need to lift up the hook before you can turn your key around and I had not seen a system like this on any of the previous trips and have literally thought I was going to break the key. Despite my grumpy sleep-deprived attitude and demand for another room, the situation was dealt professionally and recognized for what it really was and the cleaning lady was very nice to me and had a calming effect on me. The only real complaints I have is the lack of air-conditioning and somehow hard bed matresses. It was nice that there was some ventilator and open window waiting for me upon arrival but I honestly think the owners need to invest long-term in getting air conditioning because the roof is metal and prone to overheating on summer days and I had problem falling asleep and upon waking up because my back hurt. Reminded me of my student room in Vienna :) The breakfast was OK, quite modest but it worked for me. I liked there was a dining room on each floor and the view from the balcony and how the staff seemed pretty chill and still worked well together to put away the dishes quickly. Regarding the location, there are a lot of things to see and explore and all withing the walking distance- I saw the Heroes Square and Szecherny Bad, there is also a circus and a zoo next to it and for meals I would recommend a Hungarian restaurant Frizi Papa close to Oktagon

This hotel is filthy !! The breakfast is disgusting with only half fat marg to use on toast. I dont mind basic , had basic many times but clean and lovely simple and basic breakfast but this hotels breakfast was inedible. The shower tray would not drain so flooded bathroom every time used. Although clean bedding the quilt was stained and filthy and I was too nervous to check out mattress and pillow. WiFi in the hotel was very poor with periods of none at all. Never stay here again or recommend, my advice is not to book !!!!

It is great located hotel. Rooms looks worse than on the pics on booking.com. Bathroom smells awful. Its allowed to smoke everywhere 🤢 Quite good breakfasts on the last floor with stunning view.

  • 4/5 Erne M. 1 year ago on Google
Pretty nice hotel with the exception of breakfast(Army food), don’t drink the coffee, it’s awful On the other hand, very spacious rooms and beautiful views if you get a balcony or on the top floor. Great heated rooms in the winter. 24h front desk and the guy who received us was very kind and helpful. The location is pretty close to a bunch of tourist attractions, shopping centers and there are tons of bars nearby. Ooh, the bathrooms will flood if you take more than 5 min in the shower xD. If you’re only going to spend the night would recommend

  • 1/5 Richard S. 2 years ago on Google
I dont think this hotel should be opened during the hot summer days. We’ve only stayed in our room for a few hours just to spend the night but it wasnt the best experience. The room was not that clean and the beds smelled like sweat. The floor in the bathroom is heated which is an amazing thing in the winter but during the summer days it is awful. Since the room was on the top (6th) floor the heat is coming from the roof, walls plus the heated bathroom. The AC which should help against this heat is just an extremely loud fan. (It is that portable AC which has a tube out of the window and spills water all around it). The receptionists were kind and helpful. For the relatively small price you even get a breakfast, which was not that bad. You can choose from sausages, scrambled eggs, ham or cheese. There was no vegetable or fruit. I would give it 3/10 and would recommend you to try to look for something else before coming here

  • 3/5 Ray 1 year ago on Google
Good location near the center. Clean and very warm rooms. The receptionists were very nice and helpful, but I can't say the same about the breakfast service. Poor buffet consisting of eggs, wurstell, yogurt already finished and not replaced at 8:05 (breakfasts open at 8:00), slices of two types of bread (a useless means to replace the croassants) I also expected something sweet. But mostly I was irritated by the employee snorting early in the morning as she picked up the dishes. To be reviewed. I don't think I would go back.

Rooms are just okay, enough for people who will be spending most of the day out. Room is super warm which is very nice. Breakfast is not bad. Not super clean but acceptable. Location is good (10~15minutes walk from city center).

  • 4/5 Renz L. 1 year ago on Google
The Silver hotel city center is a nice hotel. the building is old, but the room is okay. very spacious toilet area. Stayed for a week in this hotel, and good thing they have breakfast included. although the breakfast is the same everyday, it is good enough (bread/ham/cheese, yoghurt, juice, others). For Cleanliness, my room is cleaned everyday, atleast my towel is changed and toilet seems to be clean, but the bed and floor seems uncleaned since i can see hair often. On staff - majority of the guys are not helpful at all and arrogant, especially on my first night where the internet was not working and the 2 guys at reception are just not fixing it, so i had to wait the next day for them to fix the wifi. At the check-in, i had to wait for 10min even if there are no other clients! One person stood out, named Csaba who was very very helpful and accomodating. He extended his help to me even when i had issues on my train ticket refunds. He knows customer service compared to the others! Location-wise, this is very accessible with several bus stops and train stops around the area. google maps is your best friend in this case.

Worst hotel ever, the room very small, with very noisy airconditioner , whole night can not sleep, dirty cups with dry tooth paste,🤮 door broken can not lock...the staff is very indifferent, far from friendly. I cancelled the second night immediately. This hotel is just a family business, they do not know how to manage the hotel. Not recommend to anyone .

The dirtiest hotel I've ever seen and poor breakfast in addition. Definitely I don't recommend to stay here.

  • 3/5 Sofiya P. 9 months ago on Google
The rooms are okay - not very clean and the bedsheets had small holes in them which made me feel uncomfortable. For me it was okay to sleep there for 3 nights, but if you have high standards I wouldn't recommend. I didn't enjoy the breakfast at all, very limited options, no fresh vegetables, the scrambled eggs didn't have any taste plus the man working in the breakfast room walks around looking at people's plates like they did something wrong, I saw him yell at two ladies (don't know what happened, but still) that's no way to treat guests. The two young men at the check-in counter are very kind, great you and are always there to help, the older man is very impolite and doesn't even respond when you say hello. Great location, close to city center and a lot of nice restaurants nearby! TL;DR Mediocore rooms (okay if you have low standards), great location, bad breakfast, a few rude employees, but also a few very kind ones.

I arrived on the midnight flight and stayed at the hotel for a while. But it was the biggest room during the trip and there are 4 beds. It's rather old-fashioned, but it's fine for a one-night's sleep. There is a breakfast restaurant on the top floor, which is delicious and has a good view. The bread (Korean twisted bread style) and sausage served in the breakfast were delicious. I'm sure to recommend it.
