This is definitely not a four star hotel! On the positive side, the staff are friendly and the location is super convenient for exploring Budapest by walking. However, on the negative side, the cleanness and service are very poor. The room we received was full of dirt and hair on the floor, and so we had to ask them to clean it properly. We were supposed to receive a double room but instead we received a room with the single connected beds which were sliding quite easily on the floor. The breakfast was poor and without almost any variation. There was lack of sufficient glasses and mugs for drinks. The hotel is surely not environmental friendly by suing so many paper mugs. In the last day of our stay, we had to leave the hotel later in the day after check out and so needed to use the bathroom in the lobby once we came back to pick up our bags. The toilet was extremely disgusting! There was also no available soap. It was defiantly hygiene issue. We noticed that some random people are coming and using the toilet as there was no security in the enternece and the bathroom was next to the enternece.

0:17 15th Sep 2023 It was happened before a few minute. The plug of electric kettle wasn't putted in the concent. I thought that the electric kettle didn't work, and I called reception. He said that housekeepers will exchange it tomorrow. His proposal wasn't enough, because I will check out tomorrow. So I confirmed the kettle and the plug. I noticed about the plug, so I tried to call back to reception again and again to tell him that the exchange is not necessary. But he had never pick up calls which means he ignored a guest. The attitude was not the best. The room was comfortable, the staff who can talk Japanese was nice :) But midnight reception was not good.

This hotel is not 4 stars. It’s barely 2 to be honest. The tray under the coffee machine wasn’t clean, the bathtub had grime all over, and the fabric of the bed’s headboard is falling apart - and crumbling all over your pillows. Apart from the discomfort, and poor maintenance of the rooms, this hotel is well located - bus from the airport stops 2 min walk from hotel. Also no complaints about the staff - they were all very efficient and kind.

I never usually write reviews but I had such a wonderful stay at this hotel I had to write one. The rooms were nice and clean and the hotel staff were so kind, helpful and friendly. Everything you want out of your stay - highly recommend.

For anyone looking for a centrally located and comfortable stay in Budapest, Exe Budapest Center is a great choice. From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I felt welcomed and at ease. The staff were friendly and accommodating, making sure I had everything I needed for my stay. The room itself was clean and cozy, with modern amenities that made me feel right at home. The ambiance was peaceful and relaxing, providing a much-needed escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. I also appreciated the quality of the products and services offered, from the comfortable bed to the delicious breakfast buffet. What sets Exe Budapest Center apart is its attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction. The staff went out of their way to make my stay as enjoyable as possible, even when there were minor hiccups like the check-in card mishap. Despite the small inconvenience, I was impressed with how the staff handled the situation and made sure everything was taken care of in a timely manner. To improve, I would suggest renovating the gym for bigger and better machines. Additionally, offering more options for dining and entertainment within the hotel would be a nice touch. Overall, I had a great experience at Exe Budapest Center and would highly recommend it to others. The high level of service and attention to detail left a lasting impression on me, and I would definitely consider staying here again in the future. Thank you to the staff for a wonderful stay.

Worst experience. The service is very poor and slow when I raised some issues in the bathroom. They rejected to change the room for me and didn't make any repairs for a week even until I leave, in spite of several times of complaints. On the other hand, when I double-paid for the hotel fees due to some technical errors in the system, this hotel rejected to refund the total amount and rather took the fee for one night even though there was no faults or mistakes of mine. The policy is arbitrary, selfish, not considerate for customers. The hotel is also old and dirty, for example, I could find some dead or alive bugs, bad smell, many dirty stains in the room, especially on the bottom of toilet.

We just stayed in the hotel last night, this was a last minute arrangement so we didn't have the time to go through reviews properly. We were welcomed very nicely by the receptionist and were even given an upgrade on the room. The room was beautiful and clean. HOWEVER, the AC didn't work properly, in fact it seemed to be blowing hot air into the room. We called the reception, several times, in the end they just told us to open the window which would stop the A/C from working, which it did but with yesterday's weather it was impossible to sleep at all which was a nightmare!

There were a lot of hairs in my bed. And the room didn't smell nice when we came in, even if you spray your parfume. The bathroom wasn't cleaned. There was a lot of dust by th e beds and mold in the bathroom. It's the worst hotel I've ever been to. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone unless you want to sleep in a gross room.

The welcome was cold and there was minimal service. The rest of the staff was really kind. The room is big with a big bed. Regardless of the street, it's quite calm. The room is just extremely over priced for the quality of the bed and the lack of renovation. I received an explanation that is "normal because the hotel is old". Got Mini bar consumption offered on departure, so txs for that small gesture. I heard other guests at arrival complaining that the room are not clean... Staff seem to do there best, good point for the hotel. P.S.: The bar is always closed

Great reception and room services and beautiful breakfast. Room nice and clean. Except security when I've stayed in the room someone knocked the door but the door no secure double lock metal and no door view to look who are they. I don't feel comfortable and that person doesn't speak English. I have to call front desk. Specifically only two women traveling.

We've chosen this hotel due to a recommendation of a friend of my father's and even though we've beed skeptical since the beginning, we thought that a 4* hotel would at least give us proper treatment. When we arrived they asked for a card and I gave them mine. They didn't tell me why until I asked them what are they doing with it. They said it's laws given by the Hungarian Gov. to ask for this tax for *I didn't understand what the receptionsit was saying* We've booked 2 double rooms: in one of them the smell of cigarettes smoke was uncoverable with any other perfume and in the other one the furniture itself smelled of old objects. The bedsheets were ok-ish, the bathroom acceptable though quite unclean. Lucky us we didn't spent too much time at the hotel. The breakfast - few options, the restaurant looked more like a canteen than a proper restaurant to eat and start your day. The cleaning ladies where nice and the hotel staff at the reception as well, but it's not enough!!! This is definitely NOT a 4* hotel, more like a 3* one. And it need renovation ASAP! The only good thing about it was its location, as it was quite near to all the locations we wanted to see.

Firstly I must say I did not want to leave a bad review but is subject to my personal experience. The hotel is in an excellent location everything you need within walking distance, for that I give 5 stars, receptionists were very polite 4 star, however I had an issue with bad lighting in my bathroom of which I reported over 7 times in one day, although maintenance came to take a look they never returned to fix the problem 1 star. The breakfast also 3/10 also there's no outdoor space to sit or smoke, you have to stand outside the main entrance which is inconvenient 1 star for this.

If I come back in the city I will probably come back there, the hotel is very close to the metro and tram station so you can get everywhere in a very short time. Blanca at the reception was so nice, she suggested us what to see in the city.

Great place, lovely rooms and beds, immaculate cleaning service, smack bang in the middle of Budapest. A few minutes from all transport amenities, and 5 minutes from the Danube. Highly recommended 👌

Has a really great location whereby a lot of things are within walking distance, from the central market to the Parliament House and Basilica. The room was not perfect with a suboptimal functioning AC (it was about 24-25 degrees in the room no matter what we did) and a few little things one could complain about. However it does not take away from the whole experience. Staff was friendly and always ready to help with tips and suggestions. Would definitely book again if I were to visit again.

Definitely not a 4 stars hotel! Price to quality is inappropriate. The room is too old & not renovated, no service in the hotel just the reception. No restaurant except for breakfast. I asked to change the room but they just kept on ignoring me and delaying that they are fully booked and to come back later. The only good thing about it is the location which is close to the major attractions of the city.

Bad experience, the room is dirty, the leather on the back of the bed crumbles on the mattress. Mold in the shower, The bathroom valve cannot be opened. The air conditioner does not put out air and the hotel does not take care of the problem even though I have reported it twice already.. in the evening there are no maintenance workers to take care of problems if needed. My recommendation - find another hotel and better than this one, the cost per night is not cheap

Executive hotel at the heart of Pest. Comfy and wide rooms without extraordinary views. Really elegant bathroom with tube. Acceptable variety of drinks and treats in the minibar at a really good price. Good breakfast, that apart of the usual toasts and pastries has 3 different kinds of cakes.

A good choice for the price, clean and spacious rooms. Location is excellent with subway and pubs around the corner, its a 7 minute Metro ride to the Castle.

Really disappointed. I originally booked at this place because they are saying in their publicity that they have a parking but this is not true. This is fake publicity. I arrived over there with the car I rented and there was no parking at the hotel. They said that we have to park in a parking behind the building but it's just a public parking without any spots reserved for the hotel. Finding parking in Budapest is a real mess, that's why I needed an hotel with a real parking. The public parking behind the hotel is always full. Got a spot only 1 week later for one day only. It's a real mess with all the cars that are waiting and hopping to get a place. I explained the problem at the reception but they said they cannot do anything since it's not their parking. But they are still saying that there is a parking at their hotel... The rooms are fine but nothing amazing. Breakfast was not great. The eggs were cold and green, they didn't want to make omelets, not a lot of choices.. and they didn't accept reimbursement when we said we didn't want to eat there anymore. Definitely not my favorite hotel in Budapest.

Mixed views about this hotel. It is located near the centre in Pest so its a 5 min walk to the shops, a bit further to the Basilica. Only 15 min over the bridge to Pest. Ideal for exploring. It is however on a main road and I am not used to traffic noise so didn't sleep well, but that's the trade off for location. My partners mother's room was not fronting the street and much quieter. We received no information at check-in, not even breakfast times. Found most of the staff sullen. Then we met Patrick on day 3 on reception who was very helpful and friendly, total contrast! I had made a mistake with the booking and only added breakfast to our room and not my partners mother. I went to reception to pay and having done so returned to the dining room to be told my partner and his mum had been treated poorly, very embarrassing, they were followed and told they weren't allowed to sit down until I returned. The following day their system had a fault and was still showing no payment for mum. It was the same woman who had seen the receipt the day before. 5 mins later, resolved but no apology. Breakfast however was great, loads of choice and tasty. The rooms are OK for the money, shower pressure great but no hot water one evening. There is no mirror in the bedroom near a plug so you have to dry your hair in the bathroom meaning the other person can't shower as the mirror steams up. Don't think I would stay again, unless Patrick was running the place.

The room was fine, but the air conditioning was broken for most of my stay and it felt like heat was being pumped into the building. Even at night with the windows open it was impossible to cool the room down. On the last day of my stay the AC was "fixed", but it still couldn't cool the room below 78 degrees.

  • 5/5 Nicky M. 6 months ago on Google
Staff can't do enough for you. Room we had was extremely quiet, facing into the centre of the building, with excellent sound proofing. Breakfast was a buffet of meat, cheese, pastries and cake, bacon, sausage, scrambled egg, cereal, pancakes with Nutella, fruit juices, teas and coffees. Room had coffee/tea making equipment, but no milk (I'm British and need milk in my tea). The concierge brought a glass of milk to our room. It's that kind of hotel.

Very nice hotel. Perfectly located in the city, close to the metro and several bus stations. No nuisance from traffic and other hotel rooms. Breakfast is standard but tasty.

We’re here 3/1-5/1 Paid €15 per person for breakfast. The breakfast is between 7-10:30 We came 10 am, it’s not early as 7 am but it should not be too late as you will close at 10:30. There were us 3 and 2 other groups who came at 10. We asked if they could refill som pancakes, hotdogs and some bean but the answer was “it’s finished” and half hour before stop time??? I read other reviews and all the complaints was all about breakfast. If I knew this, I won’t pay €15 per person for nothing! In the picture I took around 10:18 but it looked like this since we came (3 hotdogs left at 10 am I swear) when I decided I will place a complaint as 2 of my friends who came 10 mins after me left without eating anything as there were nothing left. If you don’t want to refill or serve more food at 10 am, you have to change the breakfast time to 7-10, not 10:30 It’s 30 minutes left and we are tourists, we won’t getting up at 7 am for food!

650€ were stolen from the cleaning staff BE AWARE DO NOT STAY AT THIS PLACE THEY STEAL FEOM YOU From the cameras all they could tell was that the cleaning staff entered our room even police could not do anything

The hotel is full of workers who are not from Hungary and are probably temporary workers there , when I wasn't in the room someone stole my iPad from my bag who was inside the room , most likely someone from the staff or somehow someone could enter the room , the hotel has cameras but somehow didn't find who did it and instead of helping they were afraid and blame me that they'll sue me because i share this... anyway conclusion watch out for your stuffs if it will be stolen nobody will find it you might even get threated...

Located centrally just a short walk from the Astoria station this hotel had great rooms with lovely bathrooms. With only 170 rooms the feel is friendly and welcoming. If you have any questions email in advance. They respond promptly. They also make good restaurants recommendations. I'd stay here again

The room itself was OK, but was a bit antiquated and had dirty walls and the bed sheets were a bit icky. The gym was subpar, so was the not-warm-enough sauna. I paid ±€70 on "sale", and I don't think the rooms should cost more than that on a regular basis. The location was great and the staff was nice and helpful.

stayed in this hotel for 8 nights, from the outside the hotel looks very nice, but once you step in your expectations go down, first the check in was at 2 pm , very late.the breakfast repeats itselfs with only one coffee stand,id rather eat outside. The rooms are very old and dusty, the house keepers don't do their jobs very well, some days they would just skip cleaning my room , even tho i personally asked from them. on our second day the keycard stopped working , the door did not lock, which means anyone could walk in our room, we told them about that , at night we came back to the hotel and the staff told us that we need to transfer our stuff to another room, it was 9 pm we were very tired, but still had to do it with no help . in conclusion we were not very satisfied. there a is variety of good hotels in Budapest, pay a bit more and save yourself.

Best location, it's right in the centre. Great breakfast (you can even wake up late and not miss it) the rooms are exactly like in the picture and even better and always clean. And as for service, they are really nice, kind and helpful.

Had a wonderful, relaxed stay at the Eurostars Budapest Center Hotel. The location is sublime. The hotel itself is a little busy, yet spotlessly clean. The room was comfortable with all the amenities you need. Breakfast had plenty of choice to suit everyone. Staff combine attention to detail with a cheery charm. Overall experience was good and I’ll be happy to stay there if I ever come back to Budapest.

Location is good, the rooms are pretty clean overall. AC worked great. We didn't take the breakfast option. The hotel is a bit old and so is the furniture. Some of the staff are nice and welcoming, some are irritated to work. They did refund us for an extra night we booked by mistake. Overall good value for money.

A very good hotel. Great location, historical centre was just about 5-10 mins walk away. Service is great, people are friendly. We stayed there only 1 night. Rooms are also great, but there is no black tea there, so you need to buy it yourself (though there is berry tea). Overall a great place. Pretty expensive, but we got lucky with the offer so we got there cheap enough.

Prime location. Amazing room with great mattress. But most importantly, the service. The staff were extremely helpful, giving us the city map, telling us how to get there or where to get good food, without us even having to ask. Absolutely loved the stay.

the staff is very friendly and attentive, the rooms are big enough for a couple (double bed is huge). bathrooms have “half-tubs”. sauna was a fine addition to our stay (free of charge, just call reception to turn it on). location is top! cleaning could be done better and some parts of rooms wouldn’t lack some cosmetic renovation

Comfortable, private, perfectly located. Nice, quiet, super clean room with a great bed to get a good night's sleep. Cheerful, helpful staff who are more than happy to give you a few tips to enjoy this great city. 2 minutes' walking distance from Astoria junction, which is a major interchange for all modes of public transport. 10 minutes from Keleti station by metro/taxi; 10 minutes' walk to the riverside quays. Breakfast spread was very good. Fast and reliable wifi in the room.

The hotel is in the center of Budapest so you can reach the metro or tram very fast. Each of the main sides you can reach within no longer than 15 minutes. The room was pretty big so we had for 2 people a lot of space and the bathroom was modern and clean BUT there was no toilet brush and the toilet was not cleaned by the staff! So that was really disgusting and they didn’t offer enough toilet paper for two people. Our room was very rarely cleaned even though we had the sign hanging outside all day. We found a piece of glass in our bed so that was really dangerous. The breakfast was not so nice because it was really decent. The sausages were also cold and it was really crowded so there was not a lot of ham and cheese for everybody. The staff forgot to refill the food sometimes, also the coffee machine didn’t work so often. The staff at the reception was mostly kind but at our arrival there was a lady who didn’t really welcome us. Anyway we had a great time in Budapest.

  • 2/5 Jumana K. 1 year ago on Google
Less than ok. This is nowhere near a 4-star hotel. Everything in the room is so old. The headset leather is falling off. Room is not properly cleaned. The first room we got was full of hair in the bathroom and on the bed, so we had to switch to a new room, which was helpful. Old walls and old furniture. There was an unpleasant smell in the room during our first night :/ The location is very nice tho. This is a good point. And they have AC. Wouldn’t stay here again I guess.
