Beautiful hotel, great room and pretty nice breakfast. Some members of the stuff were rude and incompetent. Every day the personnel that was coming inside our room ,were forgetting something to replace. Tidying the bed was a joke.We did ourselves after second night. They also forgot their card one day that opens the rooms. The reception....some of the lady's were almost rude when we were asking for guidance. Maybe because of the language barrier or something but I don't really think so... In breakfast they come to take your plates sometimes without even asking. I think though that is something they do across Hungary as we dealt with it ,in other restaurants too. To conclude,it is a beautiful and a bit modern hotel that needs better personnel to thrive.

The hotel is in a perfect spot of the city. You can reach the city center in short time walking or taking the tram 48/49 till the Chain Bridge. The rooms are very clean and cosy. We needed to change the room and the staff was more than happy to fullfill our wish. The staff itself put so much effort in taking care of everything in such polite manners. Thumbs up for them, you are doing a great job!! The breakfast also delicious. Parking garage - the entrance takes good driving skills but to have the garage is really great, you don't need to worry about the car. Would definitely book the hotel again.

I couldn't have chosen the perfect Hotel. Easy to get anywhere in Budapest. Metro and bus stop just outside the door. Staff super friendly and professional. Also found a welcome card and complimentary drink. Small things that make you feel welcome. Very clean. The Hotel is spread in 2 buildings across the street, but connected with a bridge (just for its clients). I saw guests in business trips, tourists all ages. Highly recommended

What a wonderful location. Definitely it's highest value. As for the hotel, I would never rate it as a five ⭐. The room was medium and definitely not a premium. The service was great. You can skip breakfast and go sit at one one of the many coffee and breakfast places. Super ♿

Pleasant enough stay for a few days in Budapest. Nice sized room for two people with a good double bed. Room not quite as clean as I would expect for a four star hotel, but staff were polite and friendly - very welcoming after a long journey to get there. What made the stay great was the location. Really convenient for the centre of town, with really easy transit from the airport via E100 bus route. Budapest is a fantastic city.

The room and bathroom were clean and quiet. The location was wonderful. The restaurant was nice and the food was delicious. We had breakfast at the hotel in the morning. There was a nice selection of pastries, fruit, eggs, breakfast meats, and coffee. We were about a 5 minute walk from the Central Market Hall and the Green Freedom Bridge. The Gellert was a short walk over the bridge and up the hill.

Great location with good amenities. The Korona branch of Mercure Hotels in Budapest is a great spot to have as your headquarters for city travels. It is a direct Airport Express (100 or 200) bus trip from the airport (the best way into town), is right off the 47/49 tram line, and a easy walk to great dining, The Market Hall, and other sights. The hotel is well maintained. The courtyard facing rooms don't have a view but are super quiet. The buffet breakfast is totally worth it for the value and the staff works to keep it fresh and looking great all morning long. The front desk staff and housekeeping staff were all accommodating.

Location is excellent. Restaurant staff charming. Reception staff unfriendly, bordering on surly. When asked if the air conditioning was working, I was told by reception, "no it's winter, open the window". Being on the 5th floor, I was actually surprised the window opened at all! I'm sure unaccompanied children will love it! And when we arrived we were curtly told, if we wanted our room made up, we had to notify reception by 9am.! I wonder which branch of the military they're attached to? Very unfriendly front of house staff.

I visited the hotel for a 6 weeks. Me and my friend gave our suitcases to the storage because we didn’t have space in our room. We told the receptionist that we want to store the suitcases for the whole 6 weeks. She said okey. After 6 weeks right before our flight we went for our suitcases and they told us that they THREW THEM away because we left them for too long and the receptionist blamed us for not checking them if they are still there. I was really shocked. Luckily they returned them day after but they stole my suitcase straps… it’s unimaginable what happened. What is more the cleaning ladies didn’t even clean. We needed to leave notes to vacuum the floor, fill the soap and so on. About linen they didn’t even bother to change it even if I took off the sheet to leave a hint they only changed the sheet I took off and that’s it. It was really unpleasant stay

Great location! Beautiful decorations. Stylish place. Clean and nice rooms. In mine, I haven't got an iron and ironing board (which was a problem for me), but I believe that other rooms are better equipped. Think I like the most are speakers from TV mounted in the bathroom

Stayed for 5 days here. Excellent service. Very clean room, the breakfast was grandiose, such a diversity of food and taste. I tried even some hungarian dishes like a specific bread with milk which I loved it, and they even had fresh fruit juice. Not a single day was I eating the same thing. Receptionists were very nice too. The hotel is at the center of the city, very easy to move around, and a lot of facilities nearby.

Hi, It's such a pleasure to stay here. Can do attitude of front of house team to provide an advice. Ironing room is great option, too. Overall review - beautiful view, multicultural place, easy to connect to nearby facilities. English speaking staff at FOH.

I stayed in this hotel for four nights when I stayed in Budapest. Location is great right in the city centre near all the main attractions. The rooms, lobby, bar and breakfast are all very nice.

Very nice modern hotel in the centre of Budapest. We stayed here for 4 nights in December 2023. We arrived in Budapest by bus at 7am and asked at the hotel if it would be possible to accommodate us now. It would have been possible, but for €10/hour (we would have paid €80 for checking in 8 hours earlier), so we politely declined. They did let us put our suitcases in the storage room though. Our room was cozy, well-lit. Although the window was on the main street - the windows are double glazed so not so much noise coming in. The double bed was comfortable. TV with no internet access, minibar on order, tea set. Shower in bathroom, hairdryer. 😊 Breakfast plentiful (but it was the same every day). Staff friendly, helpful.. we did not have a single problem. Just a few meters from the hotel - metro, tram and bus stop. Highly recommended 🥰

Very nice located in the city you find the Mercure hotel. My room was okay. It was tidy and nice decorated. Unfortunately the windows weren't able to be opened which was a pity due to bad air quality. I didn't want to use the air conditioner. The breakfast was nice. In case of many people at your time of eating it was a bit loud, but okay. Many opportunities to create a delicious breakfast. Coffee didn't taste so well for me and the machine took long to make a small amount of coffee. In general pretty well located and a great spot to start your day in budapest.

Fantastic place to stay.. While the room types are very small my most favorite was the breakfast time.. Service provided by Judit was extraordinary. She is the best amongst all.. Very sweet and caring on her service... Extremely great and overwhelming experience felt.q 😊

To the Manager: With a past history at this hotel, even today we keep returning for the exemplary quality of service and food offerings…but most importantly recently for the courtesy and personable attention we continually receive from one of your remarkable employees in the lobby restaurant. Her name is Vanessa, and she is an exceptional representative of your organization. She really knows the value of quality performance in the hospitality business….so courteous, such attention to detail. I was in the hospitality business for many years and always appreciated quality employees like Vanessa. Please commend her on our behalf for her valuable service to the Mercure Budapest Korona Hotel. Regards from an appreciative overnight guest and dining customer.

An upscale French hotel with great food and excellent location in the center of Budapest. Rooms are small, for an American, but it was a comfortable sleep. The service was spectacular, from the concierge ordering taxis to the breakfast sevice.

I booked this hotel for my sister's birthday. It was a great experience from the moment we were at the hotel. I wanted it to arrange a surprise for my sister and the hotel arranged balloons and a cake in the room for her. The rooms were beautiful, comfortable, and spacious. The staff was very friendly and welcoming.

Visited here just for the breakfast. We appreciated the gluten free bread as an alternative. The plates in general were delicious. Hot chocolate was good too.

This us overall a great hotel. The staff are all extremely friendly and welcoming and all speak great English. We had a privilege room and had breakfast served in a smaller, more intimate restaurant and snacks and drinks were included in the bar between 5pm & 8pm. This was excellent and I highly recommend it. We also had some bar food which was lovely. The room was spacious and very clean and had a nespresso machine along with tea facilities. The location is great for getting around with tram and metro right outside the hotel but almost everything is in walking distance. There is also a bus running to the airport right across the street. I would highly recommend this hotel and would stay again.

Great location, easily accessible to everywhere, including airport transportation right across the street. Great breakfast, although I wish they served fresh squeezed juice like those Mercure hotels in Poland. Great staff also. All great, just need to take away a star because the bathroom door was broken as shown in the picture

We had a great stay here. The hotel is centrally located, right next to a metro, tram and bus station, and very close to most of the major tourist attractions. We were upgraded free-of-charge to a privilege room, and had the chance to experience their in-house restaurant as a part of our upgraded package. The Winehouse has brilliant staff and a great ambience. Mercure Korona will definitely be first on our list for our next visit.

Nice rooms, but heating did not work very good. Breakfast OK, would appreciate a broader offering. The car garage is a desaster, never seen such a tight garage.

A very special, clean and organized place in the heart of downtown. We’ve held our annual meeting here and was offered hight quality services and all staff were kind and assistive. Ms. Katarina in particular was very helpful, kind and supportive. Highly recommend this hotel!

Just spent 3 nights there. It's a central location ideal for those that are making their way with no car. The hotel car park is narrow and you will struggle not to damage your car whilst entering/exiting/parking! The room was HOT, i mean HOT. Air conditioning did not work to bring the temperature down and window only opens a tad. On the upside, the shower was very good, with good pressure and hot water. Would I return? Yes, but without a car and on holiday so that I can stay central.

Great Hotel and reception staff, overall pretty small rooms but besides that location is great. One thing I would add, which made me give it 4 stars, is that staff (cleaning and maintenance) should wait before entering the room not just to burst into the room 2 seconds after knocking on the door.

Very nice hotel, I was there for work and everything was fine, very nice people working there, the restaurant is a bit expensive but very good as well. Furthermore, I forget my toiletry bag and they sent it back to me, in another country, free of charge. Thanks again!

Excellent location, good breakfast, and fabulous staff make this a good hotel. Small rooms and the fact that some of them can only be reached by a complicated process involving two elevator rides prevent this from being more than just a good hotel. I stayed in the hotel two nights in March, 2022, and three nights in April 2022. First of all, it is hard to beat the location. There are plenty of "good locations" in Budapest, but this is better than most, as it is right next to a major metro station, a short walk (400 meters?) to the Danube and its pedestrian park, and surrounded by historical sites, restaurants, and city life. Second, the staff were, to a person, professional, friendly, and even fun. On two occasions, I was helped by a new employee who was, in turn, patiently and gently monitored by a supervisor. All were great. I thought breakfast was very good. There was a big selection, and it was all pretty good. I found the breakfast room crowded, but that's just because the hotel had a lot of guests. I am also not crazy about those specialized coffee machines, as the tradeoff for getting a fancy coffee is waiting in line instead of just filling a cup from a large container, but I imagine most people disagree with me. In any case, the breakfast is absolutely fine. I stayed at the hotel twice and had two different rooms, so I imagine they were typical. Both were so small that there was no way to put both of my suitcases on the floor and walk freely in the room. I know that is the case with many hotels in major cities. This is not an old hotel, however, so they had the chance to change that and did not. The first room I had was in the building across a small street from the part of the hotel that contains the lobby. You cannot cross the street to enter that building. You have to go up to the third floor from the lobby, cross the street on an elevated walkway, then take the elevator in the other building to your floor (unless you are on the third floor). This is mildly annoying, especially if you are carrying things or you happen to forget something in your room. I thought the hotel was fine, but I would investigate other options before choosing to stay there again.

I spent a single night in a superior double bed room. The bed was comfortable and spacious. The room was clean and quiet, and would have been enjoyable for two people. I couldn't find the TV remote, and in the bathroom, the only available toiletries were just the shampoo and washer. No lotion, toothpaste, comb, deodorant, just to mention a few things I was missing, since I didn't have any of these with me. The price was okay for the location, and the view was nice.

I stayed here a couple of times and it is a really lovely hotel with good rooms, breakfast is tasty and diverse. Location is amazing you are close to everything. All public transportation that you need is in front of hotel. The only thing that I didn't like is cleaning because they will not change sheets or vacuum if you are not there in the room to tell them.

  • 4/5 B P. 2 years ago on Google
Friendly staff, clean hotel and breakfast was also good, Called for a kids bed and it arrived within 10 mins. Gym opposite the hotel entrance has what you need. Hotel well placed for getting about. Bus direct to airport just down the road and easy to find. Very happy with my stay here. Only lost a star as there were biscuits under my bed from the previous stay. Even after my room was cleaned on night 2 the cleaners still missed it. So just a small improvement to be made there.

On behalf of Corvinus University Budapest and the European Marketing Association Conference, I was in charge of selecting hotel partners for our international attendees. More than 15 guests stayed for 3+ nights at this hotel. All of them were happy with the facilities and services, our guests had a great time. Thank you for contributing to the success of our business meetings.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is close to the Airport and at the same time at a great spot in the city. The rooms are big enough, even the rather small bathroom feels bigger than it is. Breakfast is amazing and also the restaurant is fantastic.

Very nice hotel within the city. It is in the pest part of the Budapest. All the major attractions are at walkable distance. Food was very nice at the restaurant. Compared to Frankfurt I felt the hotel here is much better. Atleast they provided drinking water in the room.

An old hotel in a great location. Double room was small but clean and breakfast was good, but that 28€ lunch was a big disappointment - self-service with only 4 choices - vegetables, green salad, pasta and chicken. And 3 coffee dispensers out of 4 were out of order. 28€ can get you a lot more in any random restaurant in this neighbourhood.

We visited Budapest from Canada, and had a wonderful stay at the Mercure Budapest Korona. The lobby was beautifully decorated for Christmas, the room was very clean, and the hotel location was perfect. But the food and service in the restaurant for breakfast was truly outstanding. The food was beautifully presented, fresh and perfectly flavored (the breads and pastries especially), and our server, Milan, was attentive, warm, professional and kind: he made us feel very welcome, and went above and beyond, making us coffee and waffles each morning, offering tips about the city, and sharing warm conversation. Milan made our stay extra special. We will stay at the hotel when we return to Budapest in the spring, and hope to see Milan again!--Alex and Anastasia

Good hotel in the touristic centre. Rooms pointing to the streets are very quiet. Bathroom could get an overhaul, though. Big breakfast room with enough tables even at peak hours.

We have recently organized annual meeting at the hotel. We utilized several of the services offered, including the conference room, guest rooms, coffee breaks, and lunch, everything was well-organized. Throughout the planning process, the hotel's team, especially Katarina and Niki, consistently demonstrated their availability and flexibility. Furthermore, the hotel's central location and range of amenities make it a great choice for both personal stays and corporate events. Thank you for your professionalism and attention to detail, and I look forward to working with you again in the future.

We are frequent guests to this Hotel and we really have a great experience every time we travel to Budapest. In particular, the staff at reception, the reservations team and the staff at the bar, treat us with kindness, politeness and are always willing to help with any issues. We would like to say thank you to reservations agent Alexandra Turai who is always very efficient and makes every effort to assist with the room reservation ensuring that we will have a pleasant and uneventful stay.
