Café Jedermann

Restaurant Cafe Bar Pub

👍👍 Café Jedermann is my favourite early evening place in Budapest. Affordable prices, mostly locals, great live concerts. I even book a hot 10 min away so I make it my living room during weekend stays. Maybe one of Budapest best kept secrets from tourists and probably better to stay that way. People often mention good, jazz, time, music, Budapest, atmosphere, live, tasty, staff, great,

Out of 5 stars it is a 10 for sure. The owners threates this place like it’s there child. Atmosphere is fantastic. All day you can get delicious food and at night you can enjoy all of the best jazz musicians from all around Budapest and sometimes from abroad playing live at least 2-3 nights a week. Can you even ask for more?🙏

Awesome jazz vibe cafe, some people are working there on laptops whilst some are catching up with friends. Limited menu but it changes every 4 days, food are very cheap and tasty but would not recommend the dessert I had

It was my third time to come here for lunch. Last two times, I tried the lunch menu and I tried the à la carte this time. Although the choices were not various, the taste was good as usual. During the day time, there was no live concert. But you still could enjoy some music during the whole lunch time.

The dish was slightly salty, but over all decent, freshly made salmon with garnish , the waiters have really good attitude, the bacround music together with the decoration is very relaxing, warm and welcoming, perfect place for casual meet up, or fast tasty affordable dishes.

Nice place, food is tasty and quite cheap, if you’re on a budget, you should definitely try their lunch offer, it’s around 1000 HUF. Staff is friendly, best place to eat during the daytime js in the small garden area, but everyone should visit their jazz events. Needs to be booked in advance!

The food was terrible 😞 I've tasted a soup, a lasagne, the cabbage stew and a dessert as well. None of them seemed to be fresh neither were tasty :( Few years ago I had very good experience, that's why I decided to have lunch here. It was a huge mistake... The staff is friendly and the beverage was ok but I'd feel ashamed to serve such meals to my guest in any circumstances - although my guests don't have to pay for me... I'm very sorry for these bad experiences, I liked the place itself very much :(

The atmosphere of the place is amazing. Very chill, very cozy, very friendly! The staff is welcoming, the prices are fair and the food I liked. Its simple but high quality bar food! To be honest, this would be my go to place if I would be staying here longer :)

First time visiting Budapest and I stayed for two weeks. Jedermann is a hidden gem in the city. One of the most classy and affordable cafe/bar in town. I hope this place will keep its style and just stay true to itself and never change. I might be leaving Budapest soon but next time I'm back, this is the first place I'll go.

Had a breakfast here. The staff was well attended and the atmosphere was also good with jazz music! The food was a bit salty though. Price was very affordable.

Gorgeous Jazz themed cafe with a lovely atmosphere, the menu isn't very extensive, but what we ordered was delicious, definitely worth a visit!

Great atmosphere and music. The exterior is deceptively modern in comparison to the cozy interior

Great place to eat or just to have a drink. The beers, caffees, foods are nice. The staff is really nice, calm and friendly. It is a special café and restaurant with a backyard-garden of nice wibes. It is common to hear German language here as the place is next to the German language school of Goethe-Institut. Special, calm place with daily/ weekly offers. It is really worth it to stop by any occasion.

Great croissant with cheese and ham. And also berry cake (dessert of the day). Because of the jazz concert, there were no free tables inside and no reservations, but we still managed to enjoy the evening in the establishment. Thank you very much!

That smooth jazz playing in the background, the delicious food and very friendly staff makes this one of my favorite places in the city. I go here every time I’m here in Budapest(which is often!)!

The homemade lemonade is good. I went to an experimental jazz concert, which was alright. Be sure to reserve a table and check the schedule.

Intimate and relaxing venue, courteous and considerate service. The pork with honey potato pie is spacey! All set in a jazz-tinged atmosphere that is very deserving. I saw a small space for musicians that suggests they do live music nights.

Really cool place. Emailed them about a seat during a jazz poetry thing and they let me sit at the bar. Manager/owner talked to me a few times and moved me closer when a seat was open. Didn't understand anything due to language but great vibe. I would make a point to come her again for a concert. Just had a few beers, so no idea on food

Great vibes, simple place, reasonably priced food. Bands are not always the best, research them before joining a performance

By chance, we found this place on our first hours in Budapest. We had a delicious dinner and heard an excellent jazz group. Highly recommended. You will be very happy if you go.

Hidden gem in the city! Amazing jazz vibe inside. great to spend time with friends. They didn't have all options from menu but I was content with variety of choices.

We went there for a breakfast, photos look really apealing. So… those sunny side up eggs looking so great in the photos were hard boiled and french toast totally rubbery.. don’t go there.. you don’t want it… I was there yesterday (info for menager)

Coffee setup is good but the beans are low quality I think because the coffee was not good. Breakfast was simple but toast was burned and bland. French toast with tomato and cheese was actually cream cheese that had no flavour and 1 slice of tomato per toast. Maybe lunch is better and you should visit for the atmosphere but just not for breakfast.

Service was decent, and the place was okay. The portion of the gnocchi with goat cheese was a completely joke for that price, each of the plates where we eaten had dents, not to mention that the table clothes were as old as my dead grandma. First and last time I'm going there.. not recommended

I sense that this place is one of the best stops to recharge yourself with good energies of the universe. Not trying to be too spiritual but clearly an uplifting and chilled space in a rushing city. Shall you find yourself disappointed while visiting Jedermann then probably that's a sign that you belong to some other venues with different ethos.

A nice little hidden treasure for jazz lovers. The service is impressive, and the staff is nice and gentle. The prices are moderate, the Interieur is eclectic and impressive. Good idea for a talk with friends, you also can have a quick bite during a long evening. If you are lucky, you can catch a random jazz session, sometimes even jam.

I've been here a few times for breakfast. They have a cozy place in the back where you can sit outside. The food is nice and served quickly.

The place has some interesting magic. Breakfast was really good and the price too. I think, it is a good place, where you can eat really good in center of Budapest.

Finally a good place with good jazz music live and from records as well! Awesome beer and whiskey repertoire, and really good opportunity for having some really light, but not nothing-like dish, really tasty french toast even in the night, fast and good service, friendly people.

Now that the pandemic keeps bars and restaurants closed, Jedermann has reinvented themselves as a takeaway restaurant. Their menu is short but carefully thought out, and the quality of the food is excellent. Amazing value.

One of my fav places in Pest side. Especially garden is lovely and cosy. Be careful when there is live music it’s hard to chit chat with your friends inside
