Wow!!! This is a very nice garden located near the Komegano Station at Tokyo. The entrance fee is just ¥300 for adults. It has a nice view of the lake, benches and some small tea house and flyinv pigeons around. Its a big garden actually and you can ask them for a map to go around. Nice view for autumn season and spring as well.

One of the serene, paid, garden parks centralized on a lake, located in downtown Tokyo. In comparison to the Shinjuku National Garden, this one is slightly cheaper, slightly smaller, but likewise as lovely. I thoroughly enjoyed stopping at the cafe to enjoy a matcha and a snack, served as a set Be wary, there is really only one open entrance to the park, which is quite near the Eastern corner of the South East side of the square (search for the Main Gate).

It’s already the peak of autumn foliage in Tokyo but many pf the trees in the park are still green. Nonetheless it was still beautiful. The entrance fee is 300 yen for adults. The amount of visitors is not crazy a lot although there are many people. You can take many nice photos, and there are shops to buy food and Japanese products as well as some foreign goods in one area of the park near the entrance.

Weather was a bit cloudy today but the landscape is just as beautiful. Would visit again in autumn to see the leaves turn colour. It's a small garden if being compared to Shinjuku Gyoen. There's a also a cozy looking tea shop for tea (matcha) lovers.

I used to live in Komagome and have probably been here 30+ times. One of my favorite places in Japan (the other that springs to mind is a yakibuta place in Akasaka I went to last night). It is late June and stinking hot, but somehow serene. You have to have a bowl of macha at the tea hut. I saw a kingfisher last time I visited. The gardens were donated by the Iwasaki family (Mitsubishi group) to Tokyo city in 1938. The best Y300 I know. I am writing this near Ueno St eating 6 oysters and drinking a cold beer for Y1,000 - another great deal!

(Translated by Google) I went there a few times while living in Chiba (^_^) It shows a very beautiful view every season! When I first went I was so excited here that I fell down at the bridge and hurt my hands and feet (´Д⊂ヽ The left elbow still has scratches at that time (._.) But every time I see the wound, I remember this beautiful scenery of Rikugien (≧▽≦) Now, in Corona, I'm self-restrained and it's a bad idea to go outside the prefecture, but I want to go again when it converges (^ Mu ^) Patience is my daily life. Wow, what an oasis in this city! This garden is humungous, with different areas, a tea house, and a food/snack area. Nice in any weather; the day I went was cloudy, so it had a mysterious vibe. I really did not feel like I was in Tokyo anymore.

I was a bit disgruntled about the entry fee as I'm used to free parks and gardens at home but all things considered I would say it was worth it. It's w beautiful garden with diverse greenery and a pretty lake. My favourites were the small stone pond and a small hill which offers an incredible view over the garden. You can find peace and quiet on the outer paths or cherish the highlights in the center. Unless your time window is unflexible like for most tourists, you should research what time of year specific flowers are blooming here.

A beautiful garden located near Komagome Station. It can also be reached by Sugamo Station but is a good 10 -15 minute walk. The entrance is located at the south east corner. Gorgeous landscape with well maintained and manicured trees and plants. I would love to go back in Autumn and Spring to see the different colors. There is a place to buy souvenirs and a few food items. There is also a small tea shop where you can enjoy a cup of matcha while taking in all the beauty.

The Rikugien Gardens were simply phenomenal. At first, we were disappointed because they day we scheduled to go was rainy, but when we got there, the rain had kept most of the crowds away, so we virtually had the entire place to ourselves. The rain added an extra calming effect to the exquisitely cultivated flora of the gardens. You are able to see a variety of trees, bushes, flowers, water features, and architecture. The admission price is very low considering how gorgeous the garden is. Highly recommend! Thank you to everyone who contributes to such a beautiful and peaceful place!

Beautiful, restful, peaceful and historical place in the midst of the city. Perfect place for meditation, recharge and reflect. The trees colours of green, yellow , orange and red just blended nicely together. Glad that i make a visit there. Office worker pack lunch to eat n enjoy the peace. It looks much more beautiful than the photos. There's entrance fee and opening /closing time.

Rikugien Gardens, a landmark dating back to the late 17th century, is a breathtaking destination during autumn which surprisingly, lasted well into December this year. The garden is renowned for its picturesque pond, which reflects the stunning autumn colors, creating a serene and reflective ambiance. Visitors are particularly drawn to the vibrant red maples, which offer a striking contrast against the garden's backdrop. These maples, alongside the vivid yellow ginkgo trees, are the stars of the autumn display, turning the garden into a tapestry of fiery hues. While the garden can be busy on weekends, visiting on a weekday promises a more tranquil experience, allowing for an unhurried appreciation of the natural beauty and historical significance of this peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo. There's a nominal entry fee of 300 JPY per adult.

This garden is gorgeous, as expected. Come first thing in the morning for the best photos. We arrived at 9:30 am and it was quite peaceful with few tourists. By the time we left at 11:30, the tour groups were flooding the gardens. We visited at the peak of the fall color season. It was cold because the sun was hidden behind clouds but this made for excellent photos. The garden is small enough to stroll the entire thing in an hour but I love how there's something new to see around every corner and it even looks different if you go the opposite direction.

Amazing place, it is quite big and very well maintained, a lot of birds and fish to look at, there are a couple of spots to stop for a snack or tea, bathrooms are clean. The staff is good at English and also very friendly, we answered a survey and got a postal as souvenir. There are also brochures in different languages with touristic information. The place is quiet and peaceful, we loved it.

(Translated by Google) I gave up this year because of the coronavirus, and posted a photo of when I went to see the illuminated garden a few years ago (photo). Rokugien is the garden of Yoshiyasu Yanagisawa, an elder who was proud of his power under the fifth shogun Tsunayoshi Tokugawa. In 1695, Yanagisawa was given to this land by the fifth shogun Tsunayoshi Tokugawa. Tsunayoshi spent seven years building the "Kaiyuu Shikitsuki Yanagisawa Garden". Since this was a corner of the flat Musashino, we dug a pond, built a mountain, and drew water from Senkawa Aqueduct to make it Oizumi water. The garden became the property of the Iwasaki family, the founder of Mitsubishi in the Meiji era, and was donated to the city of Tokyo in 1938 and opened to the public. In addition, it was designated as a national special scenic spot on March 31, 1958. (From the Metropolitan Park Pamphlet) The illuminated garden was impressive. We recommend that you visit when the corona is settled. (Translated by Google) Rikugien is a delicate and mild Japanese garden that reflects the depth of Yoshiyasu's literary knowledge. The name of the garden is the "six meanings of poetry" in the old Chinese poetry collection "Moushi", that is, the Japanese poem "Rokutai", which is a diversion of the classification method of wind, sword, ratio, kou, grace, and 頌. Is derived from. In addition, it was designated as a national special scenic spot on March 31, 1958. Personally, more than 10 years ago, I have visited Sakurami with someone I met on SNS. At that time, I was very surprised that there was such a tasteful garden in Tokyo. It was a very elegant time to see various cherry blossoms and enjoy matcha on the way.

(Translated by Google) During the cherry blossom season, the Shidare cherry blossoms right at the entrance are lit up at night and become a cherry blossom viewing spot. That's because there are wonderful cherry blossoms that are 200 to 300 years old. But this is still a cherry tree for about 70 years. The gardener looked ahead 70 years and planted three cherry trees more and more like a single tree. Originally, there is a teahouse in Toei Park, and it is a spot where you can take a rest, and it is a place where many people love cherry blossom trees. The gardener had a lot of imagination. In autumn, you can eat tea and Japanese sweets as a set at Fukiage Chaya. Beautiful Japanese garden near Komagome station. This place has both beautiful autumn foliage and beautiful cherry blossoms. At the peak of the fall colors, when I visited it was very crowded and there was a long line to enter the garden. But fortunately, I went to Toyo Bunko Museum before that and bought a joint pass for the park and museum. This joint pass allowed me faster entry to the park without having to wait in the long queue. There might be such passes available on many occasions so it is better to take the advantage of such joint pass in the busy season. For the lighter season or for weekdays it is a great escape from the city’s hustle and bustle and to soak yourself into fresh nature.

Rikugien Gardens is a tranquil oasis in the heart of Tokyo, where nature's beauty and Japanese craftsmanship harmonize to create a serene escape. The meticulously landscaped gardens, complete with a central pond, winding paths, and seasonal flora, offer a serene retreat from the bustling city. The ancient maple trees, which burst into fiery hues during autumn, are a breathtaking sight. Rikugien embodies the essence of traditional, Japanese aesthetics, making it a must-visit destination for anyone seeking tranquility and a deeper connection with nature in Tokyo.

Absolutely stunning gardens. Beautiful, well-maintained landscaping with cheerful staff and accessibility for english speakers. ¥300 adult entrance at time of my visit. AWESOME little tea house near the lake offers snacks and drinks... in both Japanese and English. All in all, if I lived within the area, I'd be in this park all year round (annual passes offered for sale, as well).

Not as expected due to only good in the main small pound with admisson entry needed.I suggest another park which more better with free entry in Japan like Hibiya Park, Yoyogi Park,Hamarikyu Park etc.But maybe it will be good choice for people who like forest n mud street. Also dunno if maybe it will be good choice for Hanami in spring season to enjoy old Chery bloosom bloom as local peoples here suggested. It's good time for you to see by yourself n experience the views by your point.Happy exploring Tokyo guys.

Really loved this park in the middle of residential area. 300 yen to get in for adults. They had discounts for seniors and kids. They had annual pass for 1200 yen, which is a good deal if you live close by. I wish the cafe inside was less crowded and relaxing. But all the nature was so beautiful.

This is a nice Japanese garden that’s perfect for a stroll, and maybe a relaxing cup of tea when the tea house is in operation. It’s known for its seasonal autumn lights and large sakura tree in spring. However, it’s nice any time of year when it’s not too hot and leaves are on the trees.

Beautiful and has aspects of other iconic Japanese areas reproduced in the scenes of the lake, mini-islands, hills. The autumn colors still good, but must have been even better. Tea houses closed, except one, nice udon also available. Covid warning, hand wash, masks, social distancing, but not crowded when I visited. So nice.

都内で紅葉を楽しむならここです!写真は紅葉の時のものです。 Rikugien was established in 1702 by feudal lord Yanagisawa Yoshiyasu, who served as an attendant to the 5th Shogun in Edo period, Tsunayoshi Tokugawa. It took about 7 years to construct this garden, which has hills, steams, islands, ponds and tea houses. In 1878, this garden became a second residence of Mitsubishi's founder, Yataro Iwasaki, and he maintained the garden in good condition. Later, his family donated it to the city of Tokyo in 1938. Now the garden is designated as a special site of exceptional beauty and an important cultural asset. Autumn is the the best time to see the colored leaves in this garden.

(Translated by Google) It is about a 5-minute walk from Komagome Station. It is a daimyo garden built in the Edo period, and seems to have the motif of Wakaura in Wakayama. For that reason, the sandy beach is reproduced using the lawn. The undulations are less than those of Koishikawa Korakuen in the same ward, but there are few tall buildings around here, so the area around the pond is more open. 3 To prevent crowding, it was necessary to make a reservation to visit the park during the autumn colors. Perhaps because of this, the park was a little more spacious than usual. Unfortunately, the annual light-up has been cancelled. It was pretty beautiful when I went there before, so I'd like to go there again next year. The design of the park is astonishing with the bridges interconnecting the whole park. Red and golden maple 🍁 leaves 🍃 adds energy to the trip. Ginkgo trees are shining with the pretty yellow leaves. Rikugien Gardens are one of the most beautiful scenic gardens in Tokyo. The gardens remain open late in the spring and autumn for special periods featuring illuminated displays of some of the most popular scenery. In recent years, the spring illumination period has been far out of sync with the gardens’ peak cherry blossom period, however, the autumn illumination period is usually on point. During the autumn, shops inside the gardens serve wonderful warm foods and hot beverages to warm you up, so be sure to give yourself plenty of time to enjoy a break mid-visit. The gardens frown upon the use of any tripods—a must for successful night photography—when the grounds and trails are crowded. However, you can usually get away with the use of monopods even when the trails are full. Choose a colder weeknight for your visit if you’re dead set on using a tripod. And use a smallish travel tripod that you fit in your bag as you enter the gardens.
