I love The Mat Yoga! It’s a welcoming and supportive environment with awesome people. Whether you are a beginner or more advanced, I think it offers something for everyone. Anchi is a great teacher who offers hands-on help and modifications to ensure that you are doing the poses properly, and therefore benefiting as much as you can from them. She encourages everyone to listen to their body and do what makes them feel comfortable, but reminds them that sometimes, you just need to push yourself a bit to improve. I wouldn’t have thought that I could do a headstand when I started taking classes, but I can now! I also became more motivated to continue practicing at home. I highly recommend her classes!

I once participated in the teacher's course. He was very attentive in asking each student's needs in advance and customized the course preparation. It was great!

After having practiced yoga throughout India I found it very challenging to find a yoga instructor in Vancouver with the same depth of knowledge until I found the Mat Yoga. Anchi is a highly skilled teacher of asanas and yoga philosophy with an incredible flow. She is so in tune and knows exactly what I need in a class. I can’t recommend the Mat Yoga enough!

My wife and I have been taking sessions with Anchi at The Mat Yoga for about 5 years now and it's been an awesome journey. Anchi tailors each class to the ability level of the attendees and provides individual adjustment/correction. We take the Sunday Dynamic Flow classes, primarily, and they are great for both developing strength and for loosening up after a week at the office. Can't say enough good things about Anchi/her teaching.

Our office offers a weekly online yoga class with Mat Yoga. Can't say enough good things about the class. Such a welcoming, rejuvenating, motivating, realigning (physically and mentally) mid-week treat.

The Mat Yoga is the best thing that has happened to me in a long time. Anchi is an outstanding yoga teacher! She is very attentive, correcting our posture when needed, always providing modifications and she is very flexible by adjusting her sessions to our needs. We all have evolved in our practice tremendously thanks to her. I never thought I would be able to do a head stand, but here I am. Her mix of yoga and meditation have helped me so much to calm my mind over the last two years that I have been attending her classes. I also value the small class environment where she can pay attention to each and every one of us. During the covid-19 pandemic Anchi did an amazing job of switching over to online classes in no time. Being able to do yoga from the comfort of my home has helped me to stay sane during these unnerving times. The Mat Yoga is a true gem and if you are looking for a yoga class to join, look no further.

When I joined The Mat Yoga last summer I knew right away that Anchi was the right instructor for me. I am a senior who needs a gentle class and she helps me adapting the poses to my level. She always shares his knowlwdge and wisdom with us, and encourages us to be who we really are. I love coming to these classes.

I have tried many yoga studios all around Vancouver and I could never find a place where I felt comfortable and what I was doing was good enough for myself until I started going to Anchi’s classes. She is a great instructor, makes you feel very comfortable and I always feel amazing after my class with her. She even adapted the poses for me during her regular class while I was pregnant! She makes you feel like you are receiving a one on one class every time.

The Mat Yoga is positively changing my life in so many ways. I met the instructor, Anchi, through a class she offered at my workplace in 2018. I'd taken a few yoga courses before, but Anchi was literally "magical" (words of a co-worker) in that one really feels immersed in her instruction, guidance, and most of all, her wisdom. Anchi is a born leader with the subtle intuition and expertise that patiently teaches safe and accurate body movement techniques and poses, effective breathing and provides the perfect adjustments for a productive yoga experience. She seems to know what is happening in our bodies and encourages us to gain this knowledge of our own selves. I've learned that yoga is a progressively learned practice and by trusting Anchi's instruction for 2.5 years, I now feel the changes in my own flexibility, movement, connection to my environment, physical release and mental approach over stressful situations.

😠 If you are interested in basic gym membership, it's cheap, fine. They are not upfront about their annual upkeep fee (~$60). While it is on the Terms and Conditions which you need to read and sign off on carefully (which I did) , it is dishonest of them that they do not explain this to you. And this...

👍👍 This is my favorite yoga studio! It is my go-to place to de-stress, exercise, stretch, meet new and see old friends, experience stillness and mindfulness. I also feel safe with the COVID-19 safety protocols in place - social distancing and mask wearing throughout and practicing in the spacious room...

👍👍 Studio is clean and well organized. Liz at the front desk is always welcoming and happy. I love taking Jen & Amy’s classes. They push you and you get an amazing workout in an hour or less. Wish the butt & abs classes that start at 4:45pm could start 15 min early so we could get an hour workout but J...

👍 Free retail parkings available behind the building. Their app is easy to use and has the most up to date classes. I’d highly recommend newcomers to try their 1 week class first before purchasing monthly pass as I find almost all classes are for intermediate to advanced people who do some kind of exe...
