The 3 women at the desk are very rude. It is very sad that such people work in such a beautiful country like Canada. In the clinic we came to as a patient, they never helped and gave false information. They did not even accept this. I will never recommend it to anyone. It's like they're a small mafia group and they never admit their mistake towards you. We have traveled to many countries in the world and benefited from health services in many countries, and we have never seen such bad people working in such a clinic. I would like to remind you that you are human too and that you should put yourself in the shoes of patients. I hope you have a heart and soul that understands these criticisms.

Dr. Bharya Is one of the best practitioners I have ever known! She is attentive, listen to you, very caring . She understand straight away when you explain your symptoms . She follows up and takes her time to explain things to you! I highly recommend her . You’ll never be better served.

I needed to speak with a walk in doctor in order to get a referral for my injury/condition. I waited for days until the earliest availability for a meeting with Dr. Ramesh Avinashi, only to hear from him that he can’t help me with the referral without giving me an explanation and told me to go to a hospital instead. When I asked if he means I should go to the ER, he said he can’t say. I was confused, because it’s my understanding that I need to first get a referral from a doctor in order to schedule an appointment at a specific department in a hospital. When I said this, he proceeded to ask me when I came to Canada in a condescending way. I didn’t feel that it was necessary for me to answer this, but he kept insisting I answer, saying that he didn’t get a response. When I reached out to a nearby hospital, they confirmed that I can get a referral from a walk in or family doctor which Dr. Ramesh Avinashi refused to provide and claimed he can’t without giving me an explanation. I’m not really sure if Dr. Ramesh Avinashi understands that he is a doctor and his job is to try to help patients to the best of his ability. During my conversation with him, he cut me off multiple times even though I just started explaining what had happened and what my symptoms are. It’s one thing to be unhelpful but his attitude is what made me write this review. He was impatient, unclear and argumentative, and I don’t understand why that was necessary. If you need to see a doctor, I personally do not recommend him as it was a waste of time for me and I ended up getting everything delayed from waiting to speak with him.

I had an over the phone appointment with Dr. Ramesh Avinashi at VivaCare Medical Clinic near Lougheed Mall in Burnaby BC. This man was rude with an utter lack of empathy. He even contradicted himself while trying to rush through the session; he interrupted me each time I tried to give him a succinct medical history, however, not a minute later he had the audacity to indicate I was being deceptive about my past medical experience, all the while permitting me absolutely no time to adequately explain it. Overall, the most appalling and contradictory incident occurred over what the very nature of the appointment was about, which was a renewed prescription of antidepressants. Avinashi asked me to rate my mood from 1 to 10 (1 being dangerously low and 10 being rather well) in which I honestly admitted to be feeling around a level of “2”. Then in the very next breath he then proceeds to reprimand me for the last prescribed dose of my antidepressants as being “much too high”. It seems obvious that something needs to be adjusted with my current medication regime, yet, all he did was try to quickly pass me off as someone else’s problem. Please note - I am not saying all GP’s at this clinic are like this. I only mean to caution against this particular one. Furthermore, whoever it is that appears to respond to these patient reviews, whether it be company management or PR - I would appreciate it if you would not bother as your excuses only come off as simply that.

Probably the worst customer service you will ever get. Booked my appointment days ago, came 10 minutes before and was told there is one person before me, waited more then 60 minutes, meanwhile more than 10 people went in before me... On top of that, on their loop screen they say they will bill $35 those who don't show up... I wonder if I can bill them for waiting way longer then my appointment time, probably equal to 10 appointments. False advertising that booking online will secure your time. Very disappointed if to say the least. You can definitely "walk-in" but to see a Dr. It is too big to request. Waste of time!

I strongly recommend against any patient's being seen at this clinic. The doctor was very rushed and did not listen to symptoms - to later be rejected being provided care as I saw a TeleHealth doctor earlier that day, who recommended I Immediately be seen by a clinic doctor due to the physical symptoms I am having (severe pains). I fear if you are seen here and have serious symptoms they may be overlooked. I understand they could not bill twice for the same day, however I was also not even provided the option to pay for my visit, since money is all they care about instead of patient care - complaint has been filed against this clinic and provider with the College of Physicians. The clinic is more focused on how many patient's they can see then providing proper care to their patient's.

Doctor in this clinic is absolutely terrible, they are rushing to listen to your symptoms. Not only that, the way they answer you with questions is as if you’re dumb or something, super impatience, rude and not caring as those are the factor of being a doctor. Well guess they are just there in a rush to rake in money.

My review is with regards to one specific physician, and not a reflection of Viva Care Medical Clinic in Burnaby or the other physicians there. I had a phone appointment with Dr. Ramesh Avinashi. Prior to the appointment, I had submitted my medical history to explain the purpose of the appointment and included all relevant photos for further assessment. Dr. Avinashi was curt and argued against the request I made for an extension of time off from my illness, which came from my manager. He failed to see the logic in the request for an extension, because according to him, the illness should be transmissible for only seven days. Yet, as a nurse that works with frail and immune compromised elderly people, this is not the case for me, hence the request for an extension beyond seven days. Overall, Dr. Avinashi could have listened and showed better empathy, rather than arrogance. I would advise against booking an appointment with him for your medical needs.

They don't allow patients to make an appointment in person at the beginning. During the phone meeting, doctors only told me they need to see me in person. Doctor Avinashi didn’t even have basic knowledge and the receptionist isn’t helpful. Don’t waste your time here. ———Updating——— I can not keep chatting with him to waste my time. Dr.Avinashi said there’s no allergy testing for a specific medication and also told me I can go to another clinic. The receptionist needed to inform me that we were not able to book two appointments in the day, not just canceled my appointment without any notice. They replied to me that “the receptionist was helpful” but absolutely NOT. I am sure they wrote good reviews by themselves.

Dr. Ramesh Avinashi. made my friend feel so uncomfortable. She called to get a prescription for UTI. When she described her symptom to Ramesh, he accused her, starting to question "what is your job". As a healthcare worker, I have never learned to ask "JOB" as the first question of UTI!! Especially, for women. The questions Dr. Ramesh asked, made my friend feel discriminated and neglected. I do understand he should ask questions for diagnosis. However, the way he did was unprofessional. He definitely needs self-reflection. Keep in mind that he is treating the patient equally without bias.

Unprofessional service over the phone right at the beginning from the receptionist. No in-person appointments "due to covid-19", it's been 3 years, that's just a lame excuse now for lazy doctors.

I've been going to Viva Care in the Lougheed Mall Walmart for about 7 years. This is an excellent clinic. The office staff have always been pleasant, efficient, and helpful. I've seen several doctors at the clinic for routine medical needs - bloodwork requisitions, urine tests, prescriptions etc. and each and every doctor has been thorough, friendly, and quick to resolve my medical concern. A special shout-out to Dr. Bharya. Clear communicator and to the point, yet compassionate. Dr. Bharya once called me in the very late evening with some test results that concerned her, saying "look, if you were my sister, I'd tell her to go to the hospital tonight" - this was such a human thing to say. I felt so cared for, and while I was alarmed (tests turned up nothing) I also felt like I was in good hands. My husband and son see whichever doctor is available, and have always been happy with their interactions and the results of their visit. This clinic - and the staff and doctors - is a hidden gem. I feel fortunate to live nearby and to have been served by these folks for years.

Booked an appointment, for ultrasound requisition got it, but when they called me to discuss the results 1 week later making me concerned and worried they called from a blocked number. So i never recieved the calls just got voice mails. All doctors working from home and refuse to talk to me in a professional manner and want to play phone tag. not to mention the receptionist was very bossy and disrespectful and wouldn't let me speak to anyone else regarding my results.

I practically cried (actually, I think I did!) when my family doctor of over 30 years (Dr. Donald B. Wagar) announced his retirement. I didn't think that my family would ever be able to find a doctor as knowledgeable, patient, kind, thorough, and caring as him nor did I ever believe my family would be able to forge such a trusting and trusted relationship with another doctor again. I have never been happier to be so wrong. My family and I have now been patients of Dr. Rozaliya Kim since 2016, and we have been beyond impressed by the care, compassion, and expertise she brings to her medical practice each and every day. While it is true that the office is busy, we are always able to make an appointment to see Dr. Kim within the same week. And, if the medical matter is urgent, Dr. Kim and her office staff always find a way to fit us in even sooner. During our appointments, we have never felt rushed and we have always felt that Dr. Kim genuinely cares for the health and well-being of our family (more than 10 of my immediate and extended family members are patients of Dr. Kim's, and some are elders with high medical needs). Dr. Kim takes great time and care to find the best specialists in the city for her referrals, and she ensures that any additional tests she feels are relevant are not just requested, but promptly followed-up on. She ensures that her patients are kept updated on results and spends many after-hours and days-off checking up on her patients (e.g., I have received multiple follow-up calls from Dr. Kim: 1. during dinner hours when I know the office has already long closed, and 2. during Dr. Kim's days off [i.e., days beyond her scheduled working days according to Viva Care's online booking calendar]). My family and I feel exceptionally fortunate to be patients of Dr. Kim's, and *literally* after EVERY visit to her office, my family members and I talk afterwards about how incredibly lucky we were to have found her. And I am absolutely sure I will cry on the day that she, too, announces her retirement, but I'm hoping that will not be anytime soon! Dr. Rozaliya Kim is a gift, and my family and I cannot thank her enough for all she does for the health and care of our family!

I have been a patient of Dr. El-Masry since 2019. He is the essence of what a Doctor should aspire to be. Dr. El-Masry takes the time to ensure that his patient’s concerns are not only addressed but addressed in a prompt and efficient manner according to the urgency. The front staff have always been kind and accommodating. When I moved to Vancouver Island I remained with someone who I felt I could trust implicitly. There are very few Doctors I have met with this kind of dedication.

I think what people don't understand is the systematic problem that all medical clinics/ health care providers are facing in Canada-wide scale. If you are upset because this clinic doesn't allow walk-in, in-person patient from the get go, you can try and see if there is any other clinics that does. I'm thankful that this clinic not only provide an option to book an appointment online to have a phone appt but also they were super efficient with booking an in person appt when needed. When I talked to the doctor over the phone and the doctor said I can book in person appt, I was able to book it for sooner availability, because it was made possible by channeling the general traffic to phone appt first. This system works. My special thanks to Dr. El Masry who has been taken care of me for last 2 years.

Dr. El Marsey is the first Dr in a while to take me serious, I booked an appointment with him, but the clinics closed, I wrote down the date n time, double checked with the receptionist, what happened? 😞I could've got a full day at work today, which I need during times like this. 😖

Worst customer service I've experienced in a walk in clinic. One of the receptionists is extremely rude, and has no compassion. She refused to give me her name. The same goes for the clinic manager. Instead of diffusing the situation, she implied that I was in the wrong for saying that her olleague was rude and unhelpful over the phone for the second time. Not to mention that one of the doctors also gave me the wrong test, so I had to go in for my blood test again. I certainly will not go to this clinic again, and I don't recommend anyone else to go in either. I'm not the type of person to complain or to write a review, but this time I really had to.

Dr. Bharya is an excellent doctor and I feel very fortunate and blessed to have found her. She is confident and compassionate in her approach. She takes the time to listen and thoroughly address concerns and doesn't hesitate to investigate further when required. Whether by phone or in person, my experience with Dr. Bharya and the team at Viva Care has been exceptional!

I had a phone Telehealth call with Dr. Jacques Simenhoff at Viva Care this morning to get a prescription for an infected finger - 6 months ago I had the same issue, and was prescribed antibiotics at a walk-in which cleared up the finger in 2-3 days. Today, Dr. Simenhoff told me that he couldn't help me with a prescription and that I needed I go see a "real" physician in person, but not before ranting about the "mainstream media" and how he got bad press coverage when he abandoned patients at his last clinic to go for-profit here. What's the point of having Telehealth calls if they just tell you that you still need to go see a real doctor at a clinic? I'm injured and in pain, and the last thing I wanted today was to be berated by a doctor over the phone about my problem. I will never use Viva Care again, and I would definitely stay away from Jacques Simenhoff if you want compassion and care for your medical issues.

Dr. Rozaliya Kim is the best doctor whom we have ever met. She’s a professional enthusiast, kind knowledgable and respectful Doctor. She has been assisting my family for the past almost 15 years or so. We have had nothing but an absolute pleasure going and seeing her. The clinic is very clean and so to speak up-to-date and the staff are very polite and respectful. We highly recommend this clinic and thank them for the excellent service. Once again, a special thanks to Dr. KIM. She is an angel. Khosravi Family.

Dr. Bharya is the best! I have seen other doctors in the past however none of them were compassionate enough to their patients and were not helpful at all. Dr. Bharya had given so much hope and her kindness is out of this world! She is an angel and indeed!

What do we expect from an appointment with a doctor? We hope to be heard, to get clear explanations, appropriate recommendations or treatment plans. We are grateful to a doctor who listens attentively, with empathy, maintaining professional demeanor. Doctor Amir Elmasry consulted my mother last week and that appointment exceeded all our expectations. We completely forgot that a health care system in crisis because those 15 minutes have been devoted to my mother's needs without haste, assessment didn't skip any steps. Thank you very much Doctor Elmasry and Happy New Year to all amazing staff of the clinic!

Seriously. All B.S. We people who ask for a doctor are asking for medical support for real! We don’t waste your time, so, don’t waste our time. Show empathy for real because we are suffering medically. Don’s just say you understand and do nothing. Hey Dr. R. A., you really can’t do better, can’t you?
