Save-On-Foods

Grocery store Pharmacy

😠 Worst pharmacy care I have ever experienced. Starts off with trying to fill a prescription and they tell me that their measurement device is not accurate and they could not tell me when I could expect it to be fixed. Next my wife took a prescription there to be filled for me and no calls or anythin... People often mention store, location, service, prices, Save, staff, customers,

We love doing our groceries here. It's clean, bright and not crowded. Plus, their customer service is excellent. Just ask a team member where a product is. He will not only tell you where it is; he will take you there.

Gonna be honest here. As an American who visits family in Burnaby I just buy Ketchup chips at this location before getting onto Marine Way to go back to Seattle. No idea how the rest of the store is but staff is always helpful and it's my store of choice for chips before leaving Canada. Sometimes I share the chips with the border guards while crossing and they seem to like it and have never given me any problems. Chips from any location would probably work but I'm not going to jinx it.

You will save on foods, you will not however save on money. You will have lots of room in your fridge and cupboards, because at Save-On-Foods prices, you won't want to buy much. How they can get away with using the name "Save-on-foods" is a mystery, to me, unless their tag line is "...it's a lie". An okay place to go to just buy milk or bread, if you're desperate. But if you need a full shop, for the love of god, go to a normal grocery store and save 30%+.

I am a 61 year old senior who has been shopping here for almost 20 years now. A few days ago I purchased a few groceries here, my bill was $11.39, I gave the young man $12. He gave me my receipt. I said the total was $11.39 and I gave you $12, you owe me .40 cents. Well this young person said I am not a child, I said I did not say you were. He yelled at me and said, when I have to deal with people like you for 8 hours a day, it makes me fricken crazy, then he ran off. I was so horrified by his rudeness that I got one of the staff to page the manager. Dan the manager came down I shared with him my experience. He said he would talk to him regarding this. Anyways this young man was tall and lanky build with short dark brown hair, never have I had to deal with such rudeness!!! These millennials are mostly crazy and have attitude, just be on the lookout for him. I think I will decide to just shop at highgate where they are all so very nice and have great customer service skills.

I finally found candied pecans in the bulk area at this save on yesterday which I was happy about today I open the bag and found maggots. I'm nit happy about this as this cost $13. I think the self serve bulk containers need to be cleaned out.

Worst pharmacy care I have ever experienced. Starts off with trying to fill a prescription and they tell me that their measurement device is not accurate and they could not tell me when I could expect it to be fixed. Next my wife took a prescription there to be filled for me and no calls or anything for over a week. I go in to check on this and they tell me oh we are having a problem getting this from supplier . I continue to wait for additional 3 weeks finally I am getting upset with these guys and still no call from them to update. I decided to get my prescription back and took it to pharmasaze who told me oh ya we have this in stock and proceeded to fill it in 1 hr . VERY DISAPOINTED with SAVE ON FOOD PHARMACY SERVICE !!! Fist off you think if they had faulty measuring equipment that would be a priority to get fixed don't you think . Next their lack of communication was more than non existent and if they couldn't fill a quiting smoking medication that they would at least call and say they couldn't get it but were still trying

Still came out empty handed looking for some vegan products and it is super expensive. Can't afford this place. But very nice.

One of the more elaborate Save On stores. Full deli and ready to eat section and a place to eat. Seems well staffed and friendly.

The store is nice with a lot of products. The only problem is the staff, they are not doing their job. I had to wait for a couple of minutes at the self serve check stand which isn't long except I was the only person at the self serve. Also they don't have the self serve stands set up for your own bags, that's why the girl had to come over when my cash register froze.

Convenient location to get to in market crossing. Never that busy here so you can check out fairly quickly. And they have self check outs available too. Produce is on the pricey side (ie. Fruits) compared with other low cost grocers but it's a convenient place to stop by if you need to go for a shopping trip.

Extremely slow services. We found some Mayonnaise on sales and expired in May and July, 2023. This is the first time, I saw they put expired item for sales 😲😯😲

Save On Foods, I like, particularly cake section. I don't eat much sweets but I love this cake section, it tastes real cream, Almond Vanilla Cream Slice is really tasty😍, I like Apple slice as well. Regarding cake section, Save On is the winner than others. You know what, you can find your fav cakes there. Generally ingredients of cakes are expensive, but you want to eat real delicious cake right? Maybe I put out one of my pic.

    A. You have non organic fruits sharing the same table, literally touching organic fruits. This is breaking the organic properties of the organic fruits you're selling. I've had multiple food safe standards set by the province broken by your delivery service, so I guess I'm not surprised that you break these same rules in store. B. Whoever was serving customers at the checkout at the 7:45 PM time on October 3rd, a tall girl, has the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I watch her serve the customers before me and her sighing and borderline aggressive tone is completely unpleasant and unprofessional. She doesn't say hello, she doesn't say thank you or anything at the end, the bare minimum. I've came through her line before and called her out on this, and apparently she's forgotten because I had the same experience again. I've also complained to your customer service about her. I'll tell you what, next time I'll record my interaction and send it off to your head office. Maybe they'll take care of it since you're not doing anything about it. Your welcome, Paying Customer

I am visiting in Burnaby and Save On is the most convenient grocery store. I usually shop at No Frills so found prices at Save On quite high.

Big location, lots of stock and variety over some other locations. You really have to pay attention to expiry dates here though. Quite a few times I've been in a rush and picked up meat or bread that has been past its freshness date. Cashiers are very quick and friendly.

Was in the store tonight, Oct 11 2022. As usual, way over priced. Not to mention so many ends had no prices. About 8 cashiers just standing around .......can someone not put up prices on products? The manager should be embarrassed about so many wrong labels and no prices on most ends. Shame on you with such high prices you should be serving customers better. Wont be back.

Great location, always clean, fresh produce, stocked shelves... What more can I say. It's good 👍

Prices are a bit on the expensive side. Eg. Avocado, cilantro cost $0.50 to $1 more per item compared to other stores. The items are fresh and the store looks clean. Self checkout was easy

This is a great store with a lot of regular North American food options. Since I live in Guelph, I did find the prices higher, however, I recognize and understand the challenges that BC has over Ontario for supply chain etc. The store was clean, lots of inventory, and lots of Staff on hand.

Went during the day. Lady at bakery was very helpful. Workers in front cusyomet service area were too busy talking amongst themselves about what was happening in there home life. Rather then focusing on customers. Not the right place for that type of conversation.

I was one of the last customers this evening. I ran back to grab one item and the cashier was super patient. I left a bag of paid-for groceries on the counter and they ran them out to me in the snow.! Top notch 🤩

Pricey in the cheese dept. and I find they have overall higher pricing. Who isn't price gouging these days, all the food chains got greedy and over priced us.

OVER CHARGE of $25 was created by cashier: Tanishqa H. at the SOF at Market Crossing. Apparently, my named was listed with two “More Rewards” card numbers but she did not check this listing to provide any correct service. Even after, I showed her the pricing on My Offers. Tanishqa H. assured me the pricing was correct. In short, an opportunity to correct the error but still no corrective action taken. I discovered this $25 overcharge once I was at home. Result: Creation of undue stress and anxiety for myself, my spouse (80 years of age) and extra work for her SOF manager, Jason and SOF manager, Mark at the River District.

Had a really bizarre deli experience. I asked for one sausage roll, heated up and the dude looked at me with so much confusion, had to turn to discuss my request with 2 other people, only to hand me an un-heated bag with 2 rolls in it. Then I said I only asked for 1 and he just stared at me again. After a few seconds he said it will be 3-5 minutes and the whole thing felt so weird that I just left and paid for 2 cold rolls. It was truly a weird encounter.

This location is awful. Rude employees, rude customers that frequent over here, rude management. Their selection is okay. I would definitely avoid this location like the plague, and head to the Sapperton location or even the one on Fraser Hwy in Surrey.

Seen management yelling at staff on the floor, and plenty of other things. Not a great location. Complete joke of a store. Unable to hire staff, waiting very long times for ecom dept and even in store there's usually only 1 cashier and nobody else up front. I'll be shopping somewhere else.

I forgot to bring my reusable bag so I only bought stuff that I could carry. They when I got to the self checkout I remembered that burnaby still allows plastic bags but at that point it was too late so I just left with the few items that I could carry/put into my pockets

It’s not very nice to find out at home that cashier fooled you, and made you pay for 2 packages of meat instead of 1 that you actually got. And meat is not a cheap treat those days. Thank you Save on foods, never buying again at your store for sure.

😠 Nothing is fresh there. I have regular bad experience with fruits, vegetables, bagels and now even pasta full of larvae and in 2 unopened bags I even have winged insects alive.
