The monastic settlement from Stanisoara is a very secluded one, which is quite difficult to reach. The monks in the congregation lead an almost hermit spiritual life, spending time in prayer, in all-night services, not eating meat and not wanting to do their best.

After a long hike on top of Cozia Peak, when we came down this was the cherry of the whole trip. The monastery is located in an unique and quiet place with astonishing views. A good place to relax.

A lovely hidden place, far from the noise and civilization. Very good for a nice hike.

Monastery and its surroundings are beautiful. Road is solid and any car like our VW passat can go through it. However, you have to drive slowly due to rocks and potholes. It is a dirt road after all. Picnic spots along the road. You can hike a bit in the area and return. There’s also a 45 minutes back and forth trail to a waterfall. We did not go to the waterfall. We hiked from there almost to the top and back. To the top it is 800 meters of steep climb. We climbed 700. We were 2 parents and 3 kids: 13, 10 and 3. It was a super hike. Took about 6.5 hours to go up and down with a stop to rest at the top.

Pretty awesome place. The monestry is modest and its surroundings are spectacular. A great place for a two-hour total hike from the entrance in Cozia Park to the monestry and back. Fresh spring water is also available at the monestry and a significant amount of clean tables and benches are available along the way - in case you want to have a quick snack from your backpack. Also, the park was clean but a bit packed with weekend guests. Overall, a very nice place to visit.

A very nice hike to the monastery, also, the starting point for other hikes through the woods, highly worth visiting, if only for the rooms in solid rock, the monks made. here. Great arhitecture, highly recommended!

We took a hike from Turnu Monastery to Stanisoara Monastery. Parking near Turnu Monastery is free. The route covered a distance of 10.7 kilometers, including the time spent exploring the monastery grounds, enjoying short breaks, and having snacks. It took us a total of 4 hours and 40 minutes (to the Stanisoara Monastery and back). The route passes mainly through mountainous and forested terrain: many climbs (sometimes at an angle of 30 degrees), descents. On the route you will come across a huge rock with a cave inside, and there will also be an excellent viewpoint with a cross at the top: be sure to climb up, the view of the rocks and mountains is simply breathtaking! By the end of the journey, our knees were tired, but every kilometer of this route was worth it. For those with more endurance, you can go from Stanisoara Monastery to Cabana Cosia - but the route is quite steep with sharp climbs. But if you get to the top, you can take a second circular route back to Turnu Monastery. There is a very cute donkey on the premises that begs for food. Be careful: there are also two large guard dogs on the property!

The monastery is built on a remarkable spot. It is possible to reach it on an unpaved road. A good trip to be done on feet or with mtb or electric bikes.
