Interesting small castle with breathtaking views. The staff is so nice and helpful. We missed a stair on the second floor and almost left without going to the terrace. The staff called us and showed us the proper route so we wouldn’t miss anything.

I recommend visiting the castle when the weather is good in order to better enjoy the nice view from the top. Inside it has a couple of different exhibitions on art (I was pleasantly surprised to see an Yves Klein artwork!), history of the Grimaldi royal family and local olive oil production. A must-see when you visit the beautiful old town of Cagnes-sur-mer.

During our first holiday on the Côte d'Azur, my wife and I definitely wanted to see the Grimaldi Castle in Cagnes Sur Mer. Above the castle, which is very nicely decorated, we were impressed. The view of the surroundings from the top of the castle is unique. At the time of our visit, a large collection of portraits was on display.

That’s an impressive medieval castle. It can easily catch up your attention as it’s right on the top of the city. There is very friendly and nice staff. The castle inside seemed to me a bit empty but you can find some exhibitions like the Olive museum, the photo exposition of Suzy Solidor, some other photo expositions and some rare furniture and paintings. You can also reach the roof of the castle with a breathtaking view of the city and the sea. The benefit of the museum is the combined ticket with the Renoire museum for 8 euros.

Very interesting museum. The view from the top is breathtaking! The way up can be a bit hard but it worths it,you can see the small narrow streets on the way. The only minus is the foreign flag on the top.

Nice small castle with an art exhibit inside. Worth taking a look if in town for the views off the rooftop lookout.

First of all, staffs working there were so friendly. They were all smiling all the time. And it is free for people who lives in Cagnes-sur-mer 😍 You must go there to not to see only the musee but also to have the wonderful nature view.

Very interesting place, nice view, the staff are very friendly. Too bad some rooms are so hot. About château, might need a princess bedroom 🤔

Small, but very nice museum and a square around it with some restaurants, children playground, and little souvenir shop

Charming spot, with beautiful views. Even though it seems like a tourist attraction only, it’s actually a neighbourhood and people do live there. We were lucky to visit in the calm winter days and had a lovely experience in the pub.

Suzy Solidor exhibition is truly stunning. Worth the walk up the hill.

I don't know how I missed this museum and old town in my past journeys south, but don't you! The old town is gorgeous with stunning local views. The Grimaldi is a simple, accessible, gorgeous old museum. It's current exhibition on singer, all round personality and once local resident (well still, if you count her grave) Suzy Solidor, was a real journey and an education and a delight. So many portraits of this powerhouse of a woman (Kisling, Cocteau, Derain and so many more), strong-willed and a survivor pretty much on her own terms to the end, this is the kind of exhibition you go in knowing nothing about and come out enlightened and inspired and thoroughly entertained. So don't miss the Chateau and do book a table at one of several resturants in the main square. I can, from experience, recommend Le Village.

A long but worth it walk up the hill through narrow streets with some view of the sea far away, the castle at the top is nice and there is a plaza with a view and some restaurants. The castle was closed when we visited so we didn't get to look inside, but it's very big and impressive sitting at the top of this hill.
