Griffith Woods is a wonderful forest preserve site with paved biking and walking roads and a more adventurous trail for the curious! There are many great side-paths that have an amazing view of the river and other natural features in the area.

I hesitate to comment on how wonderful this wooded area is in a city, lest more people find it :) Though not as glorious as walking through an old growth forest in BC, in Calgary, Griffith Woods provides a wonderful forested walk, offering a wide range of options for how long you wish to walk. It's completely flat with a mix of paved and mulched/dirt paths (the latter of which get quite muddy after rain). I highly recommend this nature area if you don't have the time to travel out to the mountains.

Beautiful park and trails to take a walk with your fur babies or kids or just alone. Just don't pass the native reserve area, otherwise it's a beautiful place to unwind!

Wonderful inner city woodlands with great pathways. Easily spend 1+ hours here just on the paths. Winter walking is easy as the paths are packed down, a stroller made for terrain would be needed if bringing one though. During the summer I can see children using the area for safe exploration.

Nice place to go for a walk, hike , picnic and or swim. Their is pathed trails and dirt trails. Some dirt trails are close to the waterbanks. Whether you follow the paved trail or dirt ones left or right it's all beautiful. The parking lot fills up fast , and gets very busy in the summer months. Don't forget bug spray.

Beautiful park with lots of trails. Wheelchair accessible. Large parking lot. Dogs allowed on leash! Beautiful autumn flora, didn't see a lot of wildlife at the time we went but it was lovely! The water is so clear in the river, and even the swampy areas. Looking forward to going often, and in the spring when everything is growing! My dog Charlie enjoyed it too.

Such a beautiful location. Makes you feel like you arenโ€™t even in the city! Bring a chair to avoid having to sit on rocks๐Ÿ˜‰

A nice wooded park on the outskirts of town, located at the end of a residential area in Discovery Ridge. Now that literally everyone and their dog is out exploring during the pandemic, it can be a bit of a challenge to park since the parking lot is quite small. I had to find a spot in front of one of the houses on one of the nearby streets. Having said that, once youโ€™re out exploring one of the many paths, people are very spread out and itโ€™s awesome! There are tall trees, cool bridges, bubbling streams (below the ice which is very cool!) and several paths that meander right beside the river. You can pretty much just wander anywhere and youโ€™ll eventually wind up back at the trailhead. Pretty much flat the entire way. Definitely worth a visit!

Great tree lined trails within city limits. Flat enough to bring a jogging stroller or have a toddler walk without difficulty. Snow packed down very well on the trails, some areas icy - bring ice cleats for a more enjoyable experience.

What a beautiful hidden park. We didnโ€™t know about this wooded natural area, within the city. But you feel like your in the foothills west of Calgary. Tiny parking lot does not allow for the amount of traffic, especially on a Sunday afternoon. But if youโ€™re patient, people are coming and going constantly. Pathways seemed to go on forever. Lots of different directions to go and choices galore. There are small creeks and bridges too. First time and will definitely be back.

Always a good time. Feels like you're out of the city. Whether it's to go on a bike ride on their beautiful paved paths, enjoying a walk with the dog, or cracking a few cold ones with friends, it's always a great place to spend some time. Please remember to pick up after yourself and your animals. Keep this place beautiful!

This area is such a hidden gem... it's absolutely beautiful it doesn't even feel like you're in the city. I've been coming here for a few years now and now with covid it Is crazy busy especially the main paths. I just ask if you go, be respectful and take your garbage when you leave... I've seen lots of it lying around :(

Nice park, but it's a lot smaller that Fish Creek Park. Also lots of mosquitos here. It's definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

One of the best natural spots in the city. Rather quiet, easy going trail paths and plenty of small rivers. Fairly vast too and well covered with trees which is nice for those hot days.

10 minutes from my inner city residence is this lovely wooded Park with paved pathways and dirt pathways and streams and beautiful nature and spaces to meander or power walk or bike or take your furry friend on leash for a quiet walk. It can be long or short or whatever you want it to be. There are many loops and options. Look at the maps and pick a route you fancy at the time. I recommend it, as it is a gem.

Perfect walk for those who need to escape from the city, without actually leaving the city. When we went the washrooms were closed for the season, as well as one of the trails. That being said, there was still plenty to walk. Took around a hour to do a loop of the trails, of which about half were paved trails. All in all, a nice break from the regular parks of the city.

Beautiful place for a stroll. Often extremely busy, so do not expect a private experience. There are both dirt trails in the forest and concrete paths along a drainage pond and neighborhood.
