Beautiful place! You have the view of the river, there are benches, pathways, and a good amount of parking space. Great spot for dog walking. Definitely a place to visit to take in the beauty of the city.

Great place to enjoy nature in the city. Lots to see, especially on clear days. Views to both the mountains and downtown. We enjoy getting out for a day hike with the dogs.

Such a beautiful place. A great place to go for evening walks or just to bike on the beautiful trails and take in the view. Definitely one of mine and my boyfriends favourite spots ever! We come here often by the silver springs area we start are walk! I would highly recommend visiting this spot of Calgary it’s so refreshing. 10/10 in love with this park.

Beautiful place to walk the trail, follow the creek for an amazing experience! There's a dog park connecting as well and my pup loves to go play then end her day with a nice walk! 10/10 recommended 👌

Gorgeous park! You can wander in here for hours. Which is easy because there's no good wayfinding to help. Watch out for cyclists where the trails are narrower. We saw people get clipped today, and were almost clipped ourselves. No one rings their bells.

Just another breathtaking dog park and natural environment Calgary has to offer. Just be warned that dogs should be excellent swimmers to get in the water deep. Lot's of rapids in the summer!

Beautiful place to walk and explore the nature!! Great place to walk your dog (off-leash park) but make sure you bring water and keep your fur baby on leash if need! :P Very peaceful and calm❤️

When entering the trail from the east, you are treated to a beautiful view of the Bow River and COP. The trail has a hill that descends gently enough for young children to bike in and out with some effort. There are picnic tables and benches in multiple locations to take in the views (look for comical quotes on the bench plaques). At the bottom of the hill are marshes and catwalks across them. The cattails and grasses are gorgeous; the birds are vocal in the evening and quite active. Another gem within Calgary City Limits!

This park is located very close to my home and I spend a lot of time there. It is a wilder, less developed area compared to other nearby parks and a great place to see forest animals, visit the river, and take your dog for a walk. There is an island and a fenced area that are offleash for dogs. If you climb up the ridge on the north side of the river you can get some great views of the river valley and even the downtown skyline.

Beautiful in every season, fun for dog walking, trail running, mountain biking, or just to stop and take in the views of the river and mountains. Big enough that it never feels crowded - even during busy times you can get away by yourself. We are blessed to have such a wonderful nature retreat right within the city.

Looking for hilly walk with stunning views? Check out Bowmont Natural Environment Park. This dog-friendly park can give you a gentle to moderate workout should you stay on the paved pathways and plenty of benches to enjoy the view. Feeling a little more adventurous? Walk along one of the natural paths but be prepared for switchbacks and rocky terrain, plus keep a lookout for mountain bikers. Will be back again soon.

Pathway connects to the Bowness park. The iconic structure is the railway bridge. Agree with people say it is a park for dogs.

The best dog park. A big fenced in space for the dogs to run around and play with out the people being too close to one another. Everyone's respectful and always aware of what their dogs doing. The offleash area down the hill at the back from the dog park is stunning and many area to hike or just walk by the bike path. All in all I highly recommend this place.

The park itself is very nice to walk through. It does have a lot of ice buildup in some areas though, making it difficult to walk. The other issue is the parking. It's on a slant and also covered in ice. We almost slid sideways into another car just trying to pull out, and had to park before we got closer. While looking for owner of other car so they could back out, other park goers told us that this has happened before.

It is a beautiful place to visit for all purposes. There are hiking trails, mountain bike trails and bike path along the bluffs. There is an awesome off-leash dog park with friendly dogs to play with. It has an amazing drop off of the Rockies for your selfie. And best of all, it is outdoor and open 24/7.

The river, bridges, and natural beauty is fantastic - much like other natural area in Calgary! It also has a couple of off leash areas, including sections that are along the river. The water was very clear. A lot of leaves have fallen already, but the autumn colours were still very pretty. We saw two beaver lodges, but no sign of the beavers themselves. Maybe next time!

Today it was cold and windy. Always nice to walk along the river , so it was worth it

I forgot dog leash so I wasn't really able to walk Bailee longer than I want to. We walked thru the bike path to see the river. It looks so wooded area. Its really nice and peaceful.

Love it down there by the river. Wild, untamed, nature, birds, critters, peace, tranquility--- all packed into one space in the middle of a city of 1.2 million people.

  • 5/5 Gordon O. 2 years ago on Google
One of the very best locations in this awesome city to see both the downtown core as well as snow capped Mountains, looking past our majestic bridges, over 50 km away

Amazing walk that is inside the city. At times you forget that your still in Calgary city limits.

Hiking trails and scenic views. Very nice place to relax and enjoy nature

Beautiful green area with many different trails both paved and unpaved. You can take a casual stroll to the river or a more intense hike up the hills for a birds eye view of the city. Very spacious so even on busy days you can find some space to yourself. Very clean and well kept. Can walk for 20 minutes or 2 or more hours. Connects to other trails throughout the city. Benches and rest areas in some parts. Saw some ducks and a snake. Can’t wait to go back.

Lots of trails and access points. Some describe this as a easy hike. Nope. Steep hills. Lots of stairs. Maybe if you walk the paved pathway up top its an easy stroll. Very pretty. Lots of vantage points. Little streams, waterfall if you go into the valley area. Takes you to the bow. There are a Few benches for a little picnic. Lots and lots of cyclists on the small hilly dirt trails. They often are going fast to get up the next hill. If you are on that hill/ trail that has lots of little turns you can get hit. Was a bit sketchy for our 4 yr old not to get hurt by a cyclist. Will go again.
