The hotel is located in an excellence location. The team were very knowledgeable and nothing was to much trouble. The room was clean with a good view of the cbd from Balcony. brand new lifts are installed which is very smooth.

This suite hotel used to be a Quest but Comfort have taken it on and maintain a high level of service and cleanliness. The location is pretty unbeatable being near the theatre zone and a stone's throw from Chinatown with it's delicious restaurants. A cost effective and quality establishment.

Disappointed considering the high price we paid. The room was very dated and and in major need of refurbishment. Many faults including bathroom taps not working, various electrical faults, no dishwashing liquid or tablets included and we couldn't even find a plug for the kitchen sink so weren't able to do our dishes at all. There's no oven and overall it was a very basic kitchen and not very well equipped. It wasn't cleaned very well at all and if we were staying any longer than a weekend we definitely would have requested a different room or just cut out losses and checked out early and stayed somewhere else. We probably won't be returning in a hurry.

The lift does not work and has not been working for months, you have to carry all your own luggage up the stairs and they obviously have no intention of fixing it as the reviews go on for a long time saying no elevator. We were on the fifth floor which is actual 7 sets of stairs as you have to walk up 2 sets to get to level 1. Also if you have an early departure, you can only wait outside on the street as they close off reception with a cage so you can't wait anywhere, or sit after lugging all your gear down. Not advisable for any senior travelers or any medical issues.

We checked out after staying 2 nights of a 6 night stay. We stayed in an apartment that was meant to be set up for 2 people but there was not enough crockery and cutlery, and even after asking for plates and knives, we received only one of each for 2 people. But the worst part was the lack of hot water and heating. The first morning the hot water was luke warm at best and the second morning there was no hot water at all. Management told us they had a technician trying to fix it but they did not communicate to us what was happening at the time and we were left waiting for a shower to leave for an appointment we had. Despite the hot water situation, the room was cold and the place is dated and in need of some maintenance. Even though there appears to be individually controlled room temperature dials, they do not work and we could not get the room warm at all. There was also faulty evacuation alarms going off on our first night at around 1am. Oh, and even the phone in the room didn't work so that we could call reception. We don't usually complain about accommodation and understand things can break down but this was too many things going wrong and not even to have the apartment stocked adequately shows the lack of attention being taken to ensure a level of quality is maintained.

This hotel was dirty and I didn’t end up sleeping here. Firstly on arrival I used the downstairs bathroom, which had urine everywhere. The lift was broken which was fine as I don’t mind walking up a few levels. The rooms had a strange smell, although I was able to open the windows. On closer inspection, however, I was shocked to see blood and other stains on the sheets, which had clearly not been washed. There were also multiple stains, with what also looked like mascara stains on the pillow. I left straight away and went to the Rydges.

Location was great for me, but hotel is old and cold. The lift was out while I was there, so had to carry luggage up multiple flights of stairs. Sound proofing isn't great, you can hear the noise from the street. Particularly on Friday night.

If I could rate 0 I would. The apartment had not been cleaned. The light switches had dirty finger prints over them, in a time of COVID.,. Unacceptable. Opened soap with hair in the shower. Food under the bed. It absolutely stunk. They have no air conditioning and no ventilation, in 35 degree heat it is uncomfortable to sleep in to say the least. Reception are useless and the man working in reception all weekend is rude, useless and completely unapologetic. When I spoke to him about this he didn’t ask to see nor did he apologise. I asked him how to make a complaint and he said I couldn’t.. seriously? My god. Literally the worst 800 I have ever, ever spent in my life. Please put some money into this establishment and fire the overweight, dark skinned man in reception. Gross. Everything!

It wasn't the worst place I stayed at, but they could have tried a little harder. Staff were rude and short tempered. Blood on the sheets and everything was sticky. I asked reception to seperate the beds as I ordered a room with a queen and 2 singles but was given 2 queens, no big deal just need to wait a bit for the staff to re make the beds. The receptionist seemed frustrated at this request and told us the room will be ready in 10 minutes, so we wait on the couch for him to give us the go ahead. 45 minutes rolls around and we are still waiting, looking over at the receptionist who was saying nothing. eventually comes over and snarkily tells us that the room has been ready for ages... A little thumbs up would have been enough to let us know, it was just unnecessary to keep us waiting for so long over an issue that I specifically requested Prior to our appointment. If thats not bad enough the sheets that they put on the bed had dried blood stains on them, after reading some of the other comments on here, either they have a few bloody incidents or no one has been bothered to replace the sheets in months. This is disgusting especially as blood carries diseases. Every surface in the hotel was sticky from the remote to every table top flat surface. The walls are extremly thin and we would wake up every time the elevator would open. Im just glad there werent bed bugs. Convenient location.

Maybe I'm being a little harsh given the price, but we were greeted with an unpleasant cleaning smell on arrival. The longer we were there, the more we noticed a lack of detail when cleaning. A couple of the light switches where visibly dirty, and it looked as though appliances had not been moved for cleaning for some time. To be fair, the bedding seemed clean which I guess is one of the most important things, and it did look as though the carpet was relatively new and clean.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and quiet with a comfy bed. Bonus was a balcony. Can't beat the location. Will be staying again.

Virgin Airlines booked this hotel as due to their delay I missed a connecting flight. I woke feeling something biting my face. Bed bugs. Back to the airport at midnight. I would give 0 🌟 but this system won't let me.

The worst hotel service in a city ever. I stayed for a week in May 2023. The reception lady was very rude and couldn't even smile. They even charge you ridiculous fees for nothing and policing who goes in and out of the hotel. The wifi is really bad and goes down in the morning, hot water not working and lift stops working at times as well. Not recommended to anyone going to Melbourne

Excellent location for a family trip to Melbourne. Unfortunately the lift was out of service, it became a nuisance using the stairs when you're on level 5.

    - dirty and dusty cutlery + draws and cooking utensils/appliances, meant wasted groceries and no food on Christmas - microwave smells burnt, made boyfriend gag - Tap water in bathroom tasted bad and taste lingered for awhile, made me feel sick - Leaky fridge, ruined groceries - Rusty shower, dripping cold brown water on us - Random smelly jar under bed - Sleepwalking incident, boyfriend quietly got up and slept walked into the hallway without his keycard as he was sleepwalking, male receptionist was rude and verbally abusive to my boyfriend, receptionist returned my boyfriend to our room and I was awoken to a knock at the door and him threatening to take our $200 bond away - Loud neighbours until 4/5 am when there is a no noise policy after 9pm, no one got told off - No housekeeping until I had to ask the female receptionist twice on our 2nd last day, even then the cleaner just vacuumed and did no actual cleaning - Not enough towels, toilet paper etc for the days housekeeping was away - Mouldy shower Update: Manager agreed that room wasn’t up to standard and that even he wouldn’t stay in there he said he would arrange a refund but no conversation has been arranged for one Reception told me to take my review down if I want my bond back Was told bond would take 2 - 3 days to come back and now being told bond will take 10 -15 days to come back receptionist is a liar when confronted about the events that happened during our stay

The rooms look a little tired but the bed was comfy and the linen clean and crisp, the staff were very helpful and efficient, good location, easy to find and close to all transport options

Very basic and old hotel. However, they have an infestation of bed bugs. Check carefully before turning in for the night. They did, however, find me a new room.

As we did 'late' check in at 4.15pm, we didn't see any staff (which is fine) but it also meant we weren't supplied with the WiFi password which was frustrating. The rooms are not like the photos...at all! They're dark and pretty dingy, very old and tired. The bedroom was obviously meant for a king bed, as the in-built bedside tables were quite a distance from the bed. There were also stairs to get to the room, and then within the room (two in each location) and while it doesn't seem like much, with a broken foot it was hard to manage. No mention of stairs on the website. The beds weren't overly comfortable, and the street noise was sooo loud. I'm used to decent background noise at night, but it was like the windows were wide open, I could hear whole conversations being had on the street. The room size and location are fantastic though, so if they renovate...it'd be a great place to stay.

Worst rude staff ever very cold and nothing to do with professional service They stare at you in an awakrdness everytime u pass and they don't attend reception all the time. No words such as excuse me, please, sorry or thank you at all. As if they don't get paid eventually.

Stayed there for a night and can definitely say , this the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. I arrived late night after having a long and tiring day, and the moment I went inside the room, it smelt like cigarette smoke. The bed had a pungent smell too. Definitely won't recommend.

I dont know where to start! The hall way leading to our room smelt like urine triggering my partners asthma. The doors to the balcony rattled and i had to put a book between them to stop the noise..kitchen not clean and very dated. The bathroom was very old and dirty bath/shower didnt look like it had been cleaned there was urine stains down the front of the toilet. We booked for 2 nights but left after 1 and booked elsewhere! Would not recommend at all!!

Worst hotel ever! You couldn't pay me to stay here (literally). My partner and I were booked a room at the Quest on Lonsdale to conduct 14 days self-isolation after moving interstate. We were both shocked at the state of the room, corridors, elevator and reception. The stench that fills your nostrils when entering this poor excuse of a hotel will give me nightmares for a long time. The 2 bedroom apartment we were booked into (and paid for by my partners employer) was so unhygienic we were genuinely worried for our health. There were stains everywhere, on the carpet, curtains and even on the apparently "washed" bed sheets. We could hear constant shouting from the roome next door. When we were showed another room, we saw the same issues, although this time there was food just left on the floor after the room was made for us to inspect. This hotel was completely unacceptable and unhygienic. My partner and I eventually were allowed to move hotels thanks to our booking agent. This hotel needs to be closed down, please don't stay here!

I highly recommend you don't bother unless dirty bug infested apartments are ur thing.. most definatly not recommend foe little children or anyone who actually cares about hygiene. This old yet not at all charming hotel needs to be destroyed and replaced.

It's in a pretty good location, close to trams and trains and great food places. Parks and museum nearby. Staff were friendly and rooms are a good size. Try and get a room at the front or back, mine on the side had no natural light, due to the close proximity of the neighbouring building.

I stayed here a few weeks ago. Lovely staff, great location. I ended up forgetting my computer and a book and they returned to me with no problem. My room over looked the street with a balcony and they had self service late check in - you enter a code on a look box and your key pops out.

Air conditioning didn't work the sheets where filthy and parking wasn't included and wasn't advised until booking was confirmed and couldn't cancel. Also had down lights hanging from the ceiling and the TV remote control didn't work and couldn't do a thing. Will never return.

Reeked of cigarette smoke, carpet was all buckled in the halls. We paid for parking on arrival but when we advised reception that we were checking out, the host cancelled our parking code and we had to pay for parking again. DON'T STAY HERE.

Room was disgusting. Have pictures to prove it. Snot on walls. Pen and dark permanent pen on walls. Coffee table was dirty. Bathroom had mould and pen on walls. Work paid for parking and the hotel manager charged me a second time for parking and refused reimbursement. Rude staff. Dirty rooms. Do not recommend at all.

Was booked in a 2 bedroom apartment, when we arrived even though we were given a 2 bedroom it wasn't a family friendly room at all. Windows wouldn't close, doors wouldn't close properly. Thankfully after a discussion with reception we were moved to a family appropriate apartment. Take all photos on booking.com with a grain of salt, not true to form.

Very nice for the money and close to everything. The helpful staff also Managed to fit us in at last notice after our other accommodation was borderline uninhabitable. 10/10 would stay here again!

Our room was beyond bad. Bathroom toilet only flushed on full flush Shower was old and disgusting. The lounge was old and furniture dodgy. When we checked in the guy on the desk was painfully slow. Could never stay there again. This is not Lucy Dal Farra it’s Jenni

The only good thing about this hotel is the location. It is quite literally a dump, a real horror house to behold from the dirty half cleaned rooms right through to the rude and arrogant front reception staff. Do yourself a favour and don’t book here.

  • 1/5 Lucy S. 5 months ago on Google • 2 reviews
Where do i begin…. The room was filthy, had an awful smell and a strange door to a connecting room which wasn’t mentioned in the listing. Walls were dirty, shower and bathroom was full of mould and the bed was also gross. When we went down to complain and seek a refund, the so called manager became quite aggressive towards me and said that our complaint was “irrelevant” and we signed a form before checking in so it’s not his problem. We did not end up staying and had to spend even more money at a different hotel DO NOT STAY HERE

Hello Comfort Hotel, Melbourne! Our trip of 3 weeks was definitely positively and very pleasantly supported by your hotel all around. Being a newcomer to AU we had a number of issues ie not knowing how to go about it and were perpetually rescued by the frontoffice team...!! In fact my travel partner fell seriously ill and again Mr. Ruhin organised a medical crew to assist. Having said all this, I will definitely come back to the Comfort Hotel.

😐 Tried this place and my experience was not that great. The food quality is not good & taste is below average. Not sure why this place is famous when there are many restaurants that serve great Indian food with quality, quantity & price.
