TA'AKUL Archaeological Site (TA'AKUL means «Hidden'» in the Mayan Vucateco language) This is one of the eight important Pre-Hispanic settlements discovered in what today is known as the island of Cancun. It is very likely that this site would have had various buildings but only this structure has been preserved. The excavation revealed two different stages of construction: the first most likely corresponds to a platform with religious functions in the Classic Period, and later, suplatiores with religious functions, ir was reused and undervent modifications to make it larger. The ceramic materials indicate chat the site was inhabited durins the Early Classic Period (300-600 a.d), the Late Classic Period (620-900 a.d) and years later, during the tate Post Classic Period с1200-1550 a.d.). TAPARULes, during art of the important coastal commercial network whose r ormed pared from the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of Honduras.
