Stayed at the Blackheath Lodge as recommended by our guide. And what a great suggestion that was. It’s situated in a safe area that’s 2 miles from the V & A waterfront and close to nice restaurants. So, when not with our guide we walked everywhere. The waterfront promenade goes for miles and miles. According to AllTrails it’s possible to pick up a trail not far from here to access Signal Hill, even Lion’s Head, for a longer hike. Karin and her staff are wonderful : they’re friendly, accommodating, quick to offer suggestions and even make restaurant reservations if needed. Our room furnishings are great. Perfect after a day of activity. Awesome breakfast too. Definitely our first place to check if we visit Cape Town again.

I had the privilege of staying at Blackheath Lodge for the past two nights and look forward to my return. Comforting, homely feel in a beautiful townhouse where every detail has been carefully considered from start to finish. Inspiring decor and the friendliest, most hospitable staff. I really enjoyed my chats with Karin, a big thank you for all the extra tips and extensive knowledge of the must-sees while in Cape Town. Great place to stay, well-located, nice rooms, good breakfast „a la carte“ and partially self-service (cool mix). Pool area has comfy sun beds, as did our little terrace of room 6 (Loft). We enjoyed our stay a lot and would recommend this place to anyone staying in Cape Town since you can reach easily V&A waterfront, downtown, camps bay, table mountain etc. via Uber. And the staff is really friendly and gave us some helpful recommendations during our stay (e.g. Truth Coffee - definitely a should-go coffee location). They also have a bar where you can watch sports on a big TV - room/bar looked cool, however we did not have time to test the drinks, so that’s up to you to try :-)

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Blackheath Lodge! Our room and balcony were wonderful. The staff, service, breakfast, and property were all amazing. We booked the Cape Peninsula tour through BHL as well and had a great time. We hope to come back and stay again someday!

The loft room has a great view. Be aware that while consisting of two big queen beds, does not have a walll separating the two. It is also not handicap-friendly, since one has to climb a fairly steep staircase to get to the room itself. The place allegedly has its own solar power and battery, and so is not affected by loadshedding. This setup seems like it's insufficient for the AC units, since we could not get them to generate heat during some very cold July nights. We were able to keep warm under the covers. I hope it works better during the hot summers. Breakfast is included, and tasty enough. I recommend the eggs benedict. The lodge itself is a ways away from the V&A Waterfront. The "Main Road," with a variety of food options is close enough. However, on our first night, while we were walking down the road, we were followed and verbally accosted by a man smelling strongly of marijuana. I recommed taking an Uber to your destination instead of walking.

The staff was exceptional and helped us see the sights in 2 days. The breakfast each morning was delicious, and the chocolate cake every evening was a welcoming treat after long days of sightseeing.

Blackheath Lodge has been absolutely fantastic. It is a lodge that has 18 rooms, superior, personalized service from the moment you arrive till the time you depart. Riano treated us with dignified personnel attention throughout our stay along with the rest of the staff. This lodge has a bed & breakfast type atmosphere that if I am ever back in Cape Town, I will visit again and again. Till next time Blackheath Lodge

We stayed in the Loudge for four days and it was a dream. Not only because of Cape Town, it was because the employees were extremely friendly and courteous. Riano, a really lovely member of the hotel made us his own cocktail. He called it Tiquila Sunrise and I highly recommend it. Every single employee there makes an effort. The rooms are nice and clean and they have Netflix. The lodge is quiet and you can get to most of the sights very quickly. If anyone comes to Cape Town, this hotel is definitely more than recommended. We have enjoyed our stay:)

We stayed here in October for our Honeymoon. The service was wonderful and it feels more like a home than a commercial hotel. The staff were very friendly and were more than happy to sit and chat with you. They would go above and beyond to help us choose places to go, create reservations for us, and even went through their whole storage of gift shop items to help me find the perfect souvenir. We loved our room that had a balcony, the breakfast was convenient and tasty, and the location was perfect!

My husband and I had the most wonderful stay at the Blackheath Lodge this week! Being a small, boutique hotel, the service was very personal and we truly felt like we were going “home” every night. Karin, Riano and Godfrey were all so accommodating and provided top notch service. The breakfast and coffee were delicious every morning and our room was very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again!

Fantastic boutique hotel with beautifully decorated rooms and the most comfortable bed I’ve slept on and wonderful staff that pay attention to all the details. The eggs benedict is the best I’ve had, will definitely recommend to anyone staying in the Cape Town area.

From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel so welcome. The standards are excellent but most of all the service and amazing team, Riano, Karin, Godfrey, Mike, Brighton Annie and every single member of staff go the extra mile. Warm and welcoming and some of the nicest people you could wish to meet. They are all an asset to the hotel and were the icing on the cake to our holiday. Thank you from the bottom of hearts. The details and authenticity make all the difference at Blackheath Lodge. From the moment I walked in to the moment I left, Karim and her friendly team made my experience highly comfortable and helped in any way they could. The rooms are beautiful, and the breakfast is great. I highly recommend it!

Excellent and very professional lodge indeed. Upon our arrival myself and my husband received a very warm welcome from the host Riano, he gave us a tour and some tips on how to explore Sea Point, his energy is simply refreshing, as service like this dont come easily these days. The lodge itself is a true beauty with a nice chilling area at the pool side. Even more so, they serve a lavish breakfast and have their own bar! This is a well deserved 5 stars. Im truly happy. Keep up the good work Riano.
