The racism I experienced at this place was so jarring. The lady in the bathroom was beyond rude and when I tried to speak to her about it she shoved her hand into my face and told me to leave. When I went to speak to the manager he didn’t even bother listening to me and my sister about what we had experienced. After calling them racist (which they are) we were told to leave. We both left in tears after that experience. I hope no one ever has to go what we went through but I suggest that black people don’t even bother going here because you will be treated as sub-humans. A disgusting place overall

This is outrageous!!!!!???( the line is not okay. We spent almost 2 hours of our precious time waiting in the line. The reason is supposedly ‘capacity’ but when you look inside it’s empty!??? I don’t know if this is a marketing scandal to make them seem appealing but I don’t support it. (This was written in Karen ENG)

Truly awful. This sweltering cave of a club has a culture of racism, and homophobia - a group of who I can only assume to be Bishops boys groped me, and denied it. Its main clientele are aggressive young white men and 16-year-old girls. The bouncers *will* make it harder for you to get in if you’re a POC. However, if you’re looking for a realistic 80s club experience, this is the place for you - they’ve maintained the era’s discrimination.

    1. The rumours about racism and homophobia are true. 2. If you don’t look like you’re modelling for Cotton on they won’t let you in. 3. If you’re a woman try to look as young as possible, the middle aged male bouncers will treat you with more respect.

Bouncers that harass people in the queue waiting to get inside disgusting customer service. After not being in capetown for 4 years I expected a great reunion. Wish they had tried to fight me for defending people I was with. You will spend 5 hrs with rude bouncers. Do yourself a favor and head on to Stones. Had an amazing night there.

The wait is outrageous, with long lines due to "capacity" issues. Absolute nonsense. Waited over 3 hours just to get in, with the line not even spanning 10 meters.

Shocked by being man handled and thrown violently off stage by a bouncer.

Absolutely ridiculous experience. We waited for an hour in the line and were refused entry by the bouncers because we were “in the wrong line”, even though the one bouncer told us to wait there. They wanted bribes but we didn’t have enough cash. Underaged people were allowed to jump the queue due to bribes. A waste of time and very disrespectful. A few of our friends were allowed in due to a cash bribe. We were then of course all separated. We ended up going home after over an hour of waiting in a 10m long queue. Was such a waste of time. Don’t recommend.

Not being let in while everyone else is being let in? I thought the racism rumours were a lie but I’m actually so shocked

Absolute worse experience. We spent 3 hours waiting to get in, despite being there since before opening: they would not let anyone in, gave us no reasons and answers.

What a KAK jol. The bouncers are extremely rude and racist. The “main bouncer” had no problem letting a young girl in the club with no physical ID - clear as daylight that she was under 18 - but myself and my partner won’t be allowed to enter assuming, it’s because of our skin colour and foreign accents. The way he spoke to us was also absolutely unacceptable. Super condescending and disrespectful, straight up bullying. Worst club and hands down most disrespectful and disgusting service I had ever experienced.

The club is a great place to have fun, well it was. Ever since Tiger Tiger closed, boogie has become so packed to a point where it is so unpleasant to dance. And lets not forget that some people put glasses on the floor for others to step on and break, leaving the floor to be littered with broken glass and what ever liquid was in said glass.

The security outside they very rude and very racist and it’s full of under age inside I had a truly disappointing experience at this bar. The atmosphere was lackluster, the drinks were overpriced, and the service was slow and inattentive. The music was too loud, making it impossible to have a conversation without shouting. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone looking for a good time.never go back there again

Had to - I mean STILL WAITING, FOR OVER TWO AND A HALF HOURS. Been here before they opened. This is ridiculous. If I could give zero stars, I would.

Was quite a fun place to party. A really nice club because it had different levels. The music was good here. Drinks where averagely expensive. The age group of the crowd was quite young (below 22)

Awesome vibes great tunes with actual lyrics and the crowed sang ..Great vibes Great prices at the bar very reasonable R21 for single rum and coke is not half bad. Toilet facilities (guys) was very clean. Parking in surrounding area is safe. Bad got full and bit too busy but nothing new and not like stones thank god.

Boogie is very popular club amongst a lot of the youth. Therefore it’s no surprise that the line to get into the club is already so long even 2 hours before the place opens up. I was fortunate enough to wait in the VIP line which moved much quicker than the regular line so I did not have to deal with that. However, we nice inside the club my expectations were not met. The inside was what you’d expect, dim lots of led lights and killer music. But other than that pretty average. The club was full beyond capacity. The bathrooms were filthy and disgusting despite staff sitting in there the whole time. The drinks were priced reasonably, tequila shots being around R30 and vodka shots being R10. The place was also unfortunately packed with many obvious minors. Maybe I’ll try again another night but I doubt the experience will be any different.

One of my favourite places to go on a night out. Cover charge is low. The place is kept very clean. They also always have a great music selection, including 80's classics. However, it can get very hot and busy on a popular night.

worst service i’ve had, asked for a drink and they ignored me for 30 minutes and kept ignoring me because they thought what they were accepting everyone else’s drinks and thought they were in the right when i was in line first ordering something to drink and waited more than an hour for my drink

I love myself a good ol night in Claremont, particularly because of Boogies. However. CAN THEY PLEASE SORT OUT THE STAMP INK IT GETS EVERYWHERE AND IVE RUINED TWO SHIRTS AND NOT BE HAPPY ABOUT IT. This bothers me to my very core that it cost boogies a star from me. - Karen

It's so true that the music makes the night and the music on Saturday was just KAK. Supposed to be an 80's club but instead we found ourselves waiting for a song as the DJ appeared to enjoy playing nothing but an electronic beat with no lyrics non-stop

Love this place. The bartenders are friendly, the vibe is great, and the owners/managerial staff are also amazing. Bouncers are always doing a great job in keeping the peace. Great drink specials. Will always come back.

Generally a great place, where the drinks are reasonable. The real draw is the music they play, lots of 80s 90s and modern pop you can always dance and have a good time.

The place, on a Friday, is absolutely amazing, a full dance floor means the DJ is doing the right thing. As a fellow DJ I'd say it was a great experience after being let down by a few places on long street. Would definitely recommend!!!!
