I love this place so damn much. My first hostel stay, and I'd rather be here than most hotels. The staff and fellow boarders are all fantastic, the building is beautiful and has a very interesting history from the early 1900's and the location is prime. For a solid meal, check out Bar 44 just down the street on the same block, some of the best tapas I've ever had and an equally friendly staff. This block have me a solid introduction to Cardiff.

Great place 😀 didn't realise that the reception moonlighted as a cafe during the day. Never saw a menu. 12bed dorm was huge but the heating wasn't that great. Breakfast was average. But you can pay for a hot breakfast if you want. Kitchen was tiny but it's a tiny hostel and it was hard not to meet others. A bonus to big hostels were you meet noone. I would come back no problem. 😁

Perfect location, staff are amazing, everything you need. Slight issue with the beds, pods are a little small for tall people I found, also no plugs in the room. The USB charging ports in the beds didn't work on 2 of the 4 beds. Wouldn't let it stop me from staying again though.

I've travelled quite extensively and I can without a shadow of a doubt say that this is by far the best hostel there is. Located in the heart of Cardiff, it gives you access to virtually anything and everything this beautiful city has to offer. At the hostel the beds are high quality, well equipped and extremely clean. The rooms themselves are in excellent order. The bathrooms are spotless and kept that way. The kitchen is more than adequate for any of your needs during your stay. But above everything else, it's Tom and his staff. Never will you come across a group of people who are this amazing. They will go out of their way to make your stay in Cardiff not only pleasant but also one to remember for quite a while. Not a day went by during my stay that I felt I was away from home, that is how incredible the Safehouse is.

It was a really great place to stay for two nights. The hostel's clean, all of the staff are very friendly, and the beds are pretty nice. Even staying in the twelve person dorm I felt like I had a lot of space, however I wasn't sharing a bunk and there weren't a lot of people in the room to begin with, so I'm not sure how it would be if it were filled up. There are also fun little events every evening that are a great way to meet other guests if you're a solo traveler like me. There are also tours everyday but I didn't go on one. The reason I'm giving four stars out of five is because the showers really aren't great and there's no divider so it's easy to get water on your clothes. The shower on my floor was also broken so I had to use the one downstairs, however because there weren't many people this wasn't much of a problem. The wifi in the rooms has also been really touch and go, working really well some days while I can't get a signal for others. Overall these are minor complaints and I would stay here again if I came back to Cardiff.

Absolutely superb hostel for the price point. Staff were all really accomodating and helpful, even when we weren't being that tolerable as a group. 24 manned reception desk meant that you didn't have to worry about getting in after a night out. Beds were comfortable and also had individual usb ports as well for charging. Really enjoyed our time here.

Lovely location right by everything you could want. The castle and stadium are mere footsteps away. Great food and beer (Tiny Rebel) just at the end of the block across from the stadium. Sainsbury is around one corner and the main stores around the other, just past the castle. Can't recommend enough. Free breakfast and free luggage storage before and after check out is available and a huge plus. And the themed nights are great fun all at a small extra fee.

We got a private room on the top floor, our stay was fantastic. Great sociable atmosphere, basic but nice room, nice downstairs area. They also host plenty of events and activities, including their own tours.

We stayed one night at the Safehouse Hostel and were greeted with friendly faces and great energy. Our rooms were lovely (we booked a four bed) and the showers were clean and tidy. The building has such a lovely charm and character, from the stone floors near the kitchenette to the stairs. Our top accommodation choice if we are ever in Cardiff again!

Had a great stay with Safe house hostel in Cardiff. The location is spot on and central. A few minutes walk from Cardiff Castle around the corner. Liked the style and lay out of the rooms and the hostel, had a vintage hipster feel. The shower rooms where clean and hot. The wifi was super fast too! Found all the staff to be friendly and helpful, felt right at home. Only down side was the room code lock, found it a bit tricky to work out, but staff where friendly to help out. Thank you for having us! Was a lovely stay.
