One of the nicest hostels in Cartagena. Staff is as friendly as human beings can be! Very very helpful and fun to have a chat with. They even recognised me when going out after not having stayed there for a week! Location is perfect as it is in the centre of Getsemaní! Highly recommend going and booking their hostel on the islands as well!

Esteban at the front desk, the bar men and the two repair men were very friendly and helpful, and the location of the hostel is great. But I wouldn’t recommend this hostel- the pool filter was never on, there was no chlorine in the pool, and there were rats running around the pool area at night. The AC never worked for the 4 nights we stayed, despite repeatedly asking staff to fix it. Most of the staff were dismissive or rude. Showers are only cold water and no pressure. The communal kitchen was filthy, no equipment in it and the staff made you feel very unwelcome when you tried to cook. Will never be back!

They have the best pillows I've ever seeing in an hostel !!! Seriously, the quality of the pillow and the mattress are very good! The staff is very friendly and can help you if you need anything. Very safe, all the rooms have lockers and they don't let people from outside in. The room also have AC at night. You can use the swimming pool until 10pm and even drink a small cocktail in the afternoon (honestly no the best, but still ok). Also, they have nice breakfast in the morning included in the price. Highly recommend this place!!!

And we didn’t come early, but at the proposed check in time. Also only some beds have sheets and they won’t give me one upon request. Location is nice though and there is a large yard with many people and a pool.

Unfortunately AC didn’t work properly , the fan was as loud as torrential rain (we needed it on because of the heat), bathrooms very mouldy and the bathroom door wouldn’t close and just stayed swinging wide open. To top it off Shower water just turned itself off after a minute of using it. Otherwise, it’s in a great location and it is a good place for a party hostel. Unfortunately not my vibe and we cancelled after 1 night.

We waited more than 1,1/2 hours for the check in. They are absolutely overwhelmed. Not every bed has a sheet…if you check in late than you’re out of luck (also if it’s not your fault, because they need nearly two hours for the check in process)

SCAM! We were charged $30 a night for a dorm room with en suite and breakfast included despite there being no running water for the 4 days we were there, so the en suite didn't function and breakfast couldn't be served because there was no water for cooking and washing. The showers didn't work and they were stingy with the AC so you were constantly sweating and couldn't wash. They didn't close off the communal toilets while the water wasn't working so every toilet was filled with faeces which couldn't be flushed. Obviously the whole place had an awful smell. The manager did not care and the staff were laughing about it, refusing to give any refunds, despite the fact we had paid extra for breakfast and an en suite which we did not receive. An absolutely disgusting hostel with the worst service I have ever received. Do not stay here, they do not deserve your money and there are much better hostels with staff that care.

The staff was super friendly! The rooms smelt a little like moisture but it is an ancient building so kind of understanding! Besides that nothing tl say, the room was super clean!

The people working here are very kind and helpful. The front desk staff, Nicolas with the handsome smile, Saris who always saying hello, Esteban who is the kindest person and Daniela is very nice too They are the best! I recommend this hostel.

Wow wow wow. I had the most amazing experience staying here for almost two weeks. Felt like a home in Cartagena. My two favorite staffs Esteban & Daniela made the whole stay very special. I will be back for sure.

Worst worst worst experience in a Hostel in my entire life. And I've been in cheap places! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR ENERGY. There is no locks on the doors, you'll have to buy a lock for your doors. There is MOLD everywhere. The bathroom door doesn't close. They just have one Remote control for the A.C. for the entire Hostel so you'll have to take it borrow to turn on you unit, and bring it back to them. They don't have towels even paying the extra $30.000 fee. We were a group of 4 and they just had ONE towel for us and it has holes on it! They won't let you use your card to pay for drinks or water and you can't bring anything from the outside world. So basically you'll die if you don't bring cash to pay them for products. WORST Service. NO hospitality principles! Everyone is rude at the front desk, won't help with anything and will have a bad attitude to any questions ask. There is no shower head. It's just a hole in the wall and you'll have to shower against the wall to get any water on you. Rooms smells like humidity and mold. TV room smells like a dead body. Endless complains. Do not stay here! We found cheaper Airbnb options with private apartments in front of the beach but decided to take the hostal to be able to mix and interact with other people and decided to get the 2 private rooms they have thinking we can have an almost hotel experience but with more social interaction. Definitely the worst decision we could make!

Didn't stay overnight however, we paid to do our laundry here and it came back still dirty with lots of items shrunk. Their 'pub crawl' isn't a crawl, they basically keep you at their bar for two hours so you spend more money in their establishment.

My experience at the Media Luna Hostel was absolutely lovely! The atmosphere was lively and friendly. The salsa lessons were so fun and they had a pub crawl where we could meet so many cool international people and felt very safe. I was particularly impressed by one of the staff named Esteban working the front desk and the pub crawl. He was extremely welcoming and added to the lively atmosphere. Throughout my entire stay he was so helpful and had such a nice smile(: overall I would highly recommend the media luna hostel.

Great location, right into the historical centre with a lot of bars and restaurants around. Nice building and it was quite clean if you think that sleeps a lot of people. The problem tho, was that there was no running water for our 3 days stay. Horrible. Media Luna was one of the best hostel I have stayed at. It’s was like home away from home. The swimming pool was a plus to my hostel experience and the lady’s in the Kitchen Mercedes,Julia and Mariana were friendly and so helpful. I will return soon, Cartagena is now my second home! Sean

All over Columbia this was probably the worst hostel we stayed in. However, overall it was ok but compared to others it just lacks things. Shared bathrooms were poor - shower hat almost no water. I get the save water point but this was less than out of the tab. Toilets were also not that great. One AC control for the whole hostel. We had a private room and always had to go down to ask for the control as it was either freezing cold or w/o AC too warm.

Really great hostel, Mercedes, Marianna and Julia, Yulis, Laura, Esteban and all the other staff are so friendly, always smiling. You won’t find better staff in Colombia. Nice pool, room always clean. And such great value! Thanks very much Media Luna!

Honestly, just the worst service. For the room itself, it was ok, really big (had a private room), it had a strong smell and seemed like it was still under some construction work. The rooms are great, big lockers and beds. The toeilets were really dirty even after the cleaner been there. There is no AC during the day evev when we ask the workers to turn it on. Doesn't worth the money.

I stayed in this Hostel for over a week and even retured. But when I returned I did not have such a good experience. The Hostel has really big problems with overbooking and takes to many reservation in for bed hey have available. They kicked out some of my friends and just removed there stuff from there already paid bed just so they could give it to someone else. This happens to some more people who retured at night time and saw someone else sleeping in there bed even trough they already payed and had some more nights booked at Media Luna. The workers did help at all and even refused to give back the money! So at nighttime some people just sleeped in the patio on the chairs. I did not recommend the places as you might find someone else sleeping in you’re bed.
