We stayed in Be Lounge for about 3 nights in Cartagena within the walled city. We loved this hostel! You get a delicious free breakfast in the morning, in their beautiful outdoor patio space, filled with plants. The breakfast consisted of fruit, toast, and eggs. The room we stayed in was the 8-person mixed dorm, and it was very nice. There are large lockers to lock your belongings, and hooks on the beds to dry things. There is AC, but the only down-side is that at night it can get quite cold, and you are only provided a bedsheet to sleep with, not a blanket. This was not a party hostel when we stayed there, which was perfect for us, in fact one night almost the whole dorm was in bed by 9pm! The other thing to take note of is that there are only 4 bathrooms for the whole hostel. The private rooms have their own I believe, but the rest have to share 4 bathrooms. There is a kitchen, and filtered water, and a nice sitting area upstairs.

My husband and I had lunch at the restaurant in this hostel named El Patio. The atmosphere was nice and relaxing but as soon as we ate, we had food poisoning! The food here was definitely bad and had us vomiting and with diarrhea for 2 days. Please stay away from this place! Their food is old and will get you sick. I hope this helps others so y’all don’t have to go through the same thing as we did.

Quite disappointed in our stay here and it's not even over yet. What was listed as a 10 bed dorm is actually adjacent to another 10 bed dorm through an open doorway, so it's more like a 20 person dorm. There are not many spaces to relax or hangout outside the room, and the kitchen is small. Bathrooms are not close to the rooms, are not very clean at all, and were always out of soap and often toilet paper as well. Wifi worked well but when it came time to go to bed and charge our phones, half of the rooms outlets didn't work. I'm really not sure how this place has such good ratings. I was not at all impressed and would recommend you look elsewhere for your stay.

This hostel is amazing. The stuff is incredibly nice and helpful! The rooms are very clean. Definitely a visit worth!! The location is directly in the heart of the city center with cute little shops and restaurants nearby. Thank you for taking care of us and treating us so nicely. Well we can't hide that we are big fans;)

Location: fantastic location, right in the centre of Cartagena. Short stroll to everything important. Hostel: nice deco and good colour scheme, everything has a great flair. Fans everywhere to keep cool, very tall rooms give space and comfortable atmosphere in seating areas. Service: generally very clean, except for bathrooms. Only three for many guests. Breakfast is really small (I needed to get more everyone after) but very tasty and amazing coffee. Staff is very friendly, perfect English, and very personal.

Nice room in a rustic style. No warm water even though the cold water is not really cold. Staff is helpful for the most. The patio could be turned into a nice cozy bar.

The place is very affordable for its location. It’s close to everything like restaurants, ice cream shops, gift shops and bars. People are very helpful and friendly too. Andres and Camillo will help you with your inquiries. The staff are also friendly and welcoming. Will definitely go back here!

This place is extremely noisy. As I'm writing this review, there is an event in the restaurant downstairs ongoing. The music blasts so loud that I can barely have a conversation in my room, let alone sleep (it's 10:30pm atm). Anyone who fancies a good night's sleep during their travel: Do yourself a favor and book elsewhere.

We ordered the tropical ceviche. It came missing ingredients listing on the menu, was small, and it had cilantro (which we asked to be excluded). They couldn't make it correctly, because they didn't even have one of the main ingredients. The crab and shrimp salad was ok tasting, but was made with imitation crab. I would definitely not eat here again. 🙁 The drinks are good and the atmosphere is lovely. 🤷‍♂️ -Tim.
