They keep turtles in a tiny pool with nothing but a stone in the middle - they treat these animals only as decoration. That‘s nothing but animal abuse. If I knew that before, we would have stayed somewhere else.

So this hotel is way overdue for a teardown and rebuild. It is very unkept. I was supposed to stay here for a week and left after 1 day. The day I arrived it was raining and apparently it had been raining the past 3 days. There were puddles and leaks all over the place including inside each room. I was with a party of 5 rooms, we all requested room changes and every single one of them had water leaks inside the room. The entire hotel floods and has water filtration in the walls and ceilings. There was a puddle of water also in front of the room outside. I went to sleep and woke up with a puddle of water in front of the bathroom. The entire room smells like humidity. The TV is like 20 inches and from the year 1999. The WiFi doesn't work right and kept disconnecting. There were 2 things that were good. The breakfast was great. The staff was helpful in trying to address the issues with the water and our concerns but unfortunately there's not much they can do if every single room has issues. The hotel is sold as a 5 star but it's barely a 2 star. Just knock it down and start all over because it feels as if no amount of repairs will fix it. So sad because the hotel location is amazing and it's right on the beach.

I spent 4 nights there and could not have at least a hot water shower… I complained in the front desk but nobody fix the problem. To check out be prepared… it is just like in the 80’ the system is slow, huge lines and the guys are using a calculator to figure out about your bill… most of the places where I travel you just leave the keys and go… they must improve quality of service

Pool, view, location, restaurant buffet 10 points. But if you go to 10th floor, the prices are out of mind. We did pay 78k pesos for a gin tonic. Pinot grillio bottle of wine 300,000 pesos. The view and the place is great but they are stealing your money.

We spent 8 nights there and had very relaxing vacation. Sometimes we felt the service could be faster, however not to the extent that we would deduct a star for it. Other than that perfect hotel for a relaxing beach vacation. It also offers many activities in or nearby the resort.

We happened to stay in this wonderful hotel by chance and fate, and it was an exceptional time! Despite the fact of the origin of our stay (flight issues), we were treated as any other guest in a spotless way. The room was in floor 9th and it had a breathtaking view of the city and the bay, it was spacious, great light, everything automated, we were suffering as I forgot my charger converter in another place, and lo and behold, the plug sockets had round entries and we were able to charge our phones! Bathroom had a tub and a powerful shower head, all full with quality amenities. We had buffet food for lunch and dinner, everything was delicious, good portioned and well cooked. Service was amazing from William, the front desk clerk who checked us in, to the waiters and the bellboys. We enjoyed the pools in the first floor and the infinity pool in the 10th floor in wich we were able to enjoy the sunset view and the private beach. Thanks everyone for the truly amazing experience! We definitely will go back, this time, for a longer time. #LasAméricasEsMás

We was there for the Dr. Joe Dispenza 7 Day Retreat (Convention Center) in January 2023 coming from switzerland. Personal is very friendly. Restaurants with very good food. Big beach and near from airport. Beautyful swimming pools. Room: Very good programable air-condition, for me important because it can be very hot and high humidity. Rooms have some little imperfections but good. They have good security around the hotel. It would be good for tourism, if personal can speak min. english. This is the problem in the whole country and airport, if you don't speak a little spanish, it's not easy in columbia. They could have much more tourists if they speak min. english. Restaurants in the city could makes fotos from the menu's like for example in spain, they speak english, german and many other languages, they are very tourist friendly in spain. But Tourism is still developing in Colombia, but it could be different in 10 years i think. We would go again.

Hotel Las Americas is an exceptional place to enjoy an unforgettable vacation. Its spacious rooms, beautiful private beach, and excellent service make this hotel a unique experience. In addition, it offers a wide variety of activities for the whole family and a delicious gastronomic offer. I definitely recommend this hotel for those seeking comfort, entertainment, and tranquility during their stay in Cartagena.

Worst experience in Colombia! The hotel is absolutely no recommendation. 1. Rooms: I had to change rooms twice! The first one was completely full of mold. The second was so damp and dirty that even the water ran down the TV and the bed was totally clammy. 2. service staff: so unfriendly and not at all accommodating. Rarely experienced something like this in Colombia. 3. food: the food is okay, but not delicious. 4. The price performance is way below average! 5. The beach in front of the hotel is not nice. Not a Caribbean beach feeling! Definitely not for a nice vacation in Cartagena!

My bf & I stayed here for 4 nights. The hotel has “torre Del Mar” witch is a nicer hotel right next to “casa de playa” witch is where I stayed, much cheaper but if I would have known I would have booked the other one. Either way you can enjoy the pools/restaurant from either one. The roof top pool was my fav! Their food, drinks & pool was great, however, The food at the buffet was disgusting, especially the breakfast, can be better! I loved how their juices were all natural…. Overall, 9/10! The ac in my room could have been better but Cartagena is a beautiful city so go out & enjoy it!

This is not a 5 stars hotel. I regret that I didn't book in Hilton. I had a horrible experience with Las Americas. On the first day, they gave us a room that smelled old and dirty. On the next day, we needed literally to beg for two days to get our invoice for the 6 New Years' party tickets. They couldn't find the payment of 2 tickets ( we bought 6 in total) which was done around 2 months before the events, after this time they found it but it was not registered in accounting. However, they told us that we needed to pay for the drinks in their office before the party. It was not possible to charge them to the room. Nevertheless, they charged to our room the two champagnes we had paid. I sent them the invoice I received to the reception, customer complaints, and different emails. Sadly, I have not received any reply explaining to us what happened with the money. It is difficult to find someone who speaks English, the drinks in the restaurants needed to be ordered 3 times because they forgot many of the drinks and the only time we used the public bathroom there was not even water. The price is not according to the service and there is no comparison at with European standards. There are many hotels better than this one if you are planning to stay in Cartagena. Finally, I want to highlight that the woman who was in the reception at the check out was very kind. However, another woman without uniform, with straight, black, and long hair was very not respectful at all. She took advantage that we needed to leave urgently, so she obliged us to pay and treat us like thieves. It is so sad to finish our stay with this kind of treatment in Cartagena. I encourage the hotel to teach the employers how to control themselves in front of problems. If there was a problem or not, they should have followed up the problem.

Hotel Las Americas was a wonderful experience. I went there for our Dr. Joe Dispenza’s weeklong retreat. The room was great and the service was professional and excellent. The food and drinks were served in beautiful settings. The staff is so warm and friendly. I loved my stay at the hotel and will be returning for sure. Me encanta Cartagena and Hotel Las Americas!

Rooms are horribly maintained and just dirty. Same with the facilities. Definitely the worst I’ve ever stayed in especially for being “5 star” this is a 2 star resort. Website says king bed for superior rooms but they had 2 twin beds instead. After speaking with the front there is nothing they did to help the situation. Definitely won’t be coming back.

My payment and check-out experience with the hotel was terrible. The staff lacked knowledge of their prices and charged me an extra 200,000 COP without explanation. Although I had agreed to pay around 700,000 COP for my room, I was charged 900,000 COP the next day for no apparent reason. When I asked for the bill, the receptionist was unable to print it despite printing numerous consumption bills. It took a supervisor two hours to finally print the bill, which almost made me miss my flight. Overall, it was an awful experience.

Old and new parts of the hotel. I suggest the new part however old part had a real retro vibe. Workout room closes at 8pm. Pools were often closed while i was there without explanation. wifi keeps throwing you on/off. i stayed four nights and room was always at 75%+ humidity (yes i bring my own humidity reader when i travel). AC managed to maintain 71f but wouldn’t really get any colder. No free bottled water. Coffee shop doesn’t open until 8am which is problematic for me as im an early riser. Overall was okay for a ‘local hotel’ but was not to global standards. Check in/checkout time was extraordinary painful.

Very disappointed from the current conditions in this property. I have been coming here with my family for over 6 years. The pools are a chemistry labs of dirt and parasites due to terrible maintenance. We got bed bug bites all over our bodies, and thi was in the new tower on the ninth floor, in another room where family members stained, there was very distinct smell of marijuana. What’s next I check out and never coming back.

This is not a 5 star hotel. We stayed in the old part of the hotel (casas). The rooms are old and poorly maintained. Squeeky doors and hinges, that are hard to open and get stuck on the floor. Airco needs to stay on or room, walls and floors get wet/moist. Some electricity outlets were not functioning, but this was quickly resolved after a call to the front desk. The hallways are outdoors and the paint is peeling from the walls. The food and service is great. The pools are good with a slide. Overall not a bad hotel, but because of the basic rooms not 5 stars, but 4 at best.

This is a lovely hotel with amazing staff. I would stay here again. The restaurants were lovely and the property is well maintained. Simply beautiful.

Complex its ok, but no enough AC power on common areas make it very unconfortable. Room is ok, but the food is expensive and not good, and the location makes it very difficult to get to city center without paying one of the cabs that are waitin there and they are 25% aprox more expensive than other online services.

+ Size of the property. Easy access to everything. + The tower is impressive and offers quite few interesting things to do. Without tower it would be pretty average hotel. Game changer. + Spa is awesome! + Beach is right there with a nice smooth sand and silky water. + Great food! Breakfast offers quality and variety. Staff is attentive and caring. And much more… We literally did not want to leave this place after spending one week there.

Multiple pools and jacuzzis. The rooftop pool/jacuzzi/bar is fabulous. Excellent service from all staff members and there are plenty of friendly staff available to assist. Breakfast buffet one of the best in Cartagena. Spacious. Comfortable beds with strong a/c. One of the best hotels in Colombia!

Worst 5* hotel ever they must have bought their stars it’s not possible otherwise. We dine there, first the food was atrocious, second their card machine didn’t work. We asked to put the bill on the room which was accepted by the staff. Then came the harassment. First a waitress runs after us to pay now with again a disfunctionning card machine. It was again accepted to put the bill on the room. Then a waiter calls us in our room (at 11pm) saying that we need to come downstairs to pay immediately. After that another waiter came knocking at our door with a card machine to pay for diner. (We consume for 100,000 pesos). When we told a manager about it, they offered a free taxi to our next hotel but in fact they offered the already free shuttle of the hotel and made us wait 30 min for it. When we finally had enough and told them that we will be leaving in our own terms, they offered the taxi. I don’t want to get into the slowness and poor service of everything from the check in to the check out. It’s seems obvious Only positive thing : the pools

Quite disappointed by this hotel. Maintenance is poor. We were given a room with a faulty bathroom door and clogged drains. Our second room got flooded by rain from an inner wall soaking our belongings. No retribution offered. One night we couldn't sleep from guests partying with loud music and shouting in a nearby room up to 4am. Service was very slow and we had to call always a second time.

The best place to be in the hotel is the pool on the 10th floor, which was closed for a business event and guests were not allowed in. At the time of paying the account we saw that they charged a liquor that was not ours. The service of the employees is very good, they are very kind and polite. The food is generally good.

We didn’t stay at this place because of previous reviews about bedbugs, but we wanted to at least have breakfast here due to a famously known serie. I called in advance and I was told restaurant was open. We took a taxi from downtown, over 20 minutes trip for being unwelcome. Staff with attitude and rudeness requests us to leave since only guest can access the restaurant. Awful place that I would never bother to go. Instead we went to Hotel Santa Clara in the old town for brunch. It was amazing and great service. We being having breakfast and dinner at this hotel restaurant for 3 days on the road and spend over $700 usd. Hotel America lost a good business. I leave leave pictures of my experience if I can, but don’t waste your time and money at the americas hotel isn’t worthy.

Staff is friendly, place is super clean, and is a beautiful hotel close to the airport in Cartagena. Second time I’m staying there. Food is very good, and the view is phenomenal!

The Hotel has a perfect location, very close to The Airport (4 min by car). Talking about confort, all the employees are polite, happy, kindful. The room is perfect, big beds, clean ambient, the bathroom has a modern architecture, bathtub, saparated shower. The view is wonderful, a mix of the ocean and the pools. The restaurants have a delicious food, drinks and desserts, with many options for all kinds of taste. It's obviously a 5 star Hotel, and I recommend it so well. I'm sure I'll return soon here.

Omg what a nice and beautiful experience. I loved it. Great customer service from the start until the end. The room was ok, they can really use a fix up and make it a bit more modern, fresh paint, new curtains, the beds a bit more clean please specially the wheels of the beds and add more pillows to the beds. I did not like having a closet inside a bathroom. It would be nice to have a walking in closet instead. Great restaurants and great bar service. Great pools and the views are soo beautiful. I will be back soon. :)

You really feel like in a 5-star hotel. The beach right in front of you and multiple swimming pools for you and your kids. I am glad they think about kids too. Air conditioner worked perfectly, wifi worked as well. Buffets are delicious. I stayed two nights and can say I would stay here again without hesitation. One thing to keep in mind is that it is distant from the city (about 10 min drive) so make sure you have convenience items prior check in (toothpaste, snacks, etc). Once you are in, you might get taxi to the city and come back but it’s worth having these items already with you. Besides that, everything was great!

Wonderful hotel on the beach. Beautiful. The staff was amazing and friendly. Bed was very comfortable, perfect for after spending a day on the islands or walking around the old city. Room was very clean and the AC felt so nice. The pools were beautiful. And the breakfast in the morning was great and convenient.

We stayed at the hotel Las Americas for a week with our two children as the hotel offers the best infrastructure for kids in the region. I would rate the overall experience as OK, as (i) I find the rates overpriced (ii) the hotel is old (there is maintenance done but there are many spots with broken elements) (iii) there is a lack of client orientation (I dont understand how a hotel with a family-focus has no water boiler to prep milk, even upon request, and you have to dial your floor service to get hot water; the supervised childcare was basically a space of free play with minimal activities). On a more personal note, I found the lack of sustainability consideration very outdated for a hotel. There was no possibility to reuse towels and the rooms needed to have aircon 24h/7 due to risk of condensation. I also couldnt identify a circular economy concept in the buffet. The food was good and the staff was friendly, my kids had a blast, overall an OK stay, but bottom line it is rather pricey for what it is.

Highly recommended, just 10 minutes from the airport, the facilities are in great condition, the food was amazing, but the best is his people, diligent and very welcoming!!!

Insisted I give a card to pay for incidentals in check in, then made a huge deal about me “not checking out” and actually hunted me down to pay for $10 worth of water I ordered, which I paid for with the exact same card I put down for incidentals! They also don’t let you leave the hotel without a special “permission slip”. It’s just like being in kindergarten again, except they’re charging you $300 a night!
