A
great
place
to
wind
down,
relax
and
get
away
from
civilization.
There
are
two
people
who
will
make
your
stay
worthwhile,
thank
you,
Daisy
and
Blas!
You
are
amazing!
Unfortunately,
what
the
hostel
offers
on
their
website
is
quite
different
than
what
you
will
find
once
you
arrive.
The
beach
is
quite
small
and
full
of
corals,
and
you
can
only
access
it
with
water
shoes
(which
you
can
borrow
at
no
cost),
the
water
is
also
too
shallow,
which
makes
it
not
a
suitable
place
to
swim
or
snorkel;
since
it's
so
shallow
the
water
always
appears
brownish
in
colour.
The
rooms
are
made
up
of
two
single
beds,
so
if
you
are
going
as
a
couple,
it's
very
uncomfortable.
There
is
no
room
cleaning
service
after
you
get
your
room,
so
be
careful
with
how
much
sand
you
take
with
you,
we
were
there
for
3
days
and
no
one
ever
cleaned
the
thousands
of
dead
ants
on
our
door.
The
showers
and
bathrooms
are
a
bit
awkward,
especially
for
tall
people,
they
have
very
big
and
low
windows
which
face
the
other
cabin's
bathrooms.
Also
in
order
to
shower,
you
must
pull
on
a
rope
in
order
for
water
to
come
out,
so
it's
a
challenging
one
handed
shower
experience.
The
food
they
offer
is
plane
of
taste
and
very
expensive
for
what
you
get,
they
only
serve
the
main
meals,
you
can't
order
any
snacks
during
the
day.
Breakfast
is
always
the
same,
eggs,
toast
and
a
plate
of
melon,
there
are
no
other
options,
for
people
who
don't
eat
eggs.
Also,
breakfast
gets
served
for
everyone
at
once,
so
don't
be
late,
or
you
will
be
eating
cold!
Many
people
went
to
the
hotel
next
door
or
to
town
to
eat
lunch.
(Do
keep
in
mind
the
town
is
not
a
touristic
place).
The
only
available
access
is
by
boat,
they
offer
transportation
once
a
day
from
their
hostel
in
Cartagena
and
back,
but...
the
problem
is
they
leave
at
10am,
so
if
you
can't
make
it
on
time,
you
will
be
stuck
in
Cartagena
until
the
following
day.
They
do
not
own
a
dock,
instead
they
have
a
floating
"makeshift
floating
dock"
where
people
step
on
and
they
float
you
ashore,
which
was
fine
for
us,
a
young
couple,
but
it
isn't
suitable
for
elderly
people,
heavy
people
or
parents
with
young
kids,
as
it
tips
over
quite
easily.
Because
of
its
limited
access,
you
will
solely
depend
on
their
offer
for
different
activities,
which
are
expensive
in
comparison
with
main
tourist
hubs,
especially
for
unprepared
foreigners.
We
heard
the
guide
offer
many
different
prices
for
the
same
trip,
to
different
people
according
to
their
nationality,
so
be
careful
to
not
get
ripped
off;
do
bargain
the
prices
as
they
are
rather
fluctuating
from
guest
to
guest.
If
you
want
to
see
the
bioluminescent
plankton,
this
is
definitively
not
the
place
to
go;
they
won't
offer
it
unless
the
Moon
is
absolutely
absent,
and
the
only
place
they
travel
to
for
this
activity
is
right
next
to
the
town,
where
light
and
pollution
make
it
hard
to
appreciate
at
all
(you
can
go
year
round
to
see
the
plankton,
but
have
to
go
to
a
place
called
"Laguna
Encantada",
which
is
out
of
their
jurisdiction
or
something).
All
in
all,
it's
a
place
to
relax,
kayak,
read
and
sleep.
But
if
you
are
looking
for
the
beach,
blue
sea,
waves,
snorkelling,
or
trips
around
Barú,
this
is
not
the
place
to
go
to.
