La Taverna offers a range of Spanish cuisine but what I particularly like about this place is their excellent food deals on specific days such as the Taco Tuesday, Pizza Wednesday and Pasta Thursday. They also have Chef Specials available everyday. I stopped by Pasta Thursday which is ₦6000 for any pasta dish with a glass of wine or sangria. I had the Rigatoni Beef and Mushroom while my friend had the Lamb Ravioli. The rigatoni was absolutely delicious and featured a pasta cooked in a Coconut cream based sauce with chilli flakes and topped with chunks of beef and mushroom. The Lamb Ravioli had a smaller portion size and wasn't as tasty as the rigatoni but it was still a solo dish. We opted for a glass of sangria and a bottle of Frontera Wine. The Sangria was quite disappointing because it was just wine with a bit of fruit. It didn't have any citrus flavours and juices you'd expect in a sangria. In terms of service, it was just quite good. We were given hot towels to clean our hands before dining. We also got complimentary starter which was bread and salsa. I wish the bread were toasted. Our waitress was quite helpful and also patient.

For starters I had taco and sweet potatoe wedges My goodness! This is not on the menu but they will make it for you if they have the ingredients. It was so juicy and delicious For main course I had the seafood paella. There was so much seafood in the food I was impressed. Every spoon of rice had obstacle😁 I had the red sangria which is like one of the best drinks ever! It’s infused with fruits and alcohol All the portions were mighty, food was priced moderately and I enjoyed my time here

Great Environment and Music. Staff are courteous and professional. We ordered the Seafood Paella and the Chicken Paella - both orders took an hour to arrive, and when it finally came, the rice was soggy and halfway burnt at the bottom. It was quite disappointing. I guess the chef was having a bad day or something. The servers also had to be prompted to at least bring drinks while the food was taking forever. The chicken tacos 🌮 were great! Would have been great to experience the rooftop, but it was a rainy day, so we had to stay indoors. The restroom was clean.

I had a great time dining here. The food was 6.5 out of 10, the ambience was 8 out of 10, the on site staff was 9 out of 10. However! A week after I dined in, I called the restaurant to make some enquires and the lady who took the call was entirely lacking in poise and etiquette. She evidently requires customer service training and shouldn’t be answering calls on behalf of the restaurant.

I used to only go to La Taverna for their Pasta Thursday, but my eyes have been opened. The food slaps. The chef knows the work. There’s not much else to say 😂 That carrot cake is the best carrot cake I have ever had in my life. And the customer service is top-notch. I will keep going here and definitely try more things on the menu.

The bbq chicken pizza was absolutely delicious 😋 I enjoyed every slice of it! Leches asada wasn’t what I was expecting portion wise(too small for that price) but it was delicious too. I also had mixed fruit juice which I forgot to snap. They didn’t serve it chilled, I had to ask for ice cubes. The waiters knew what they were doing and the environment was clean both indoor and outdoor. Overheard two staff (not waiters) whatever they were💁🏾‍♀️ gossiping about my friends and I in a condescending manner which is why I’m never going back there lol

Food is very hit or miss. You never know if you will get the good taco or the one full of mayo. The good patatas or the one with more oil than Delta state. The crunchy wings or batter so thick the chicken can still be resurrected. When it’s good it’s very good and when it’s bad oh boy…

I only ordered dessert here, and I was impressed. The environment is pleasing. I was impressed with the display of wines. Our waitress called Kindness was really kind to us. All in all I'll definitely visit again for a proper Spanish meal.

Had late lunch here and I must say I love, love the place! From the welcoming spanish traditional wooden doors, the photographs on the wall, the colors, to the outdoor seating area, it was a memorable experience. We sat at the rooftop patio, and it had nice ‘eye level’ views. Said ‘eye level cause the view below wasn’t that great 😄, but watching the sunset compensated for that though. Food was great and came in quick. Had complementary bread and salsa. Then for mains I had the ‘Seafood Paella’ and it was mind blowing! 🤯. Definitely going back just for that! My friend ordered the ‘Penne Pasta Taverna’ and it was also really tasty. Certainly a must go if you haven’t! Nice food and great atmosphere. Excellent customer service too. I really enjoyed me pasta and mojito. This is a great spot for a chilled night out with friends and loved ones. Compared to surrounding restaurants prices were higher. Photos were taken at night using night mode feature which I think is really cool.

Menu was lovely, delectable take on Latino food for the African palette. The ambience is very chic, feels fancy but also homely, like a place to return to often. And I always loves rooftop with a good view!

You won't believe where it's located. It's on the 5th floor of the Statement Hotel, First Avenue, Abuja Central. Opposite Adamawa House. The map location for the hotel is a bit off. This place is exactly what you see in the pictures online. The vibes, the food, the service. It was all so good. From the warm towels to the appetisers to the wine. I wish I had a bigger appetite to eat more in one sitting. I tried tacos for the very first time, and it was so good. The outdoor sitting is cool, I wish it had some cover because of the dust in Abuja. It's the perfect place for a date.

The Chef Thabo is really cool and welcoming. Loved the ambiance of the restaurant, really classy. Didn't like the service from the bar, took forever to make the drinks i ordered (almost an hour) and when the drinks came they weren't nice at all. Overall it wasn't really a bad place to visit.

The waitress who served us was pretty nice and helped give us nice recommendations. We went on a Tuesday so we had their "Taco Tuesday" offering. However, I'd say the food especially the pasta was mid for the price. I had Spaghetti Alfredo for 7,500 and I really expected better in terms of size and taste. Another strange thing is that the menu says that VAT and service charge are inclusive in the price. Now except I don't know English or the person who wrote it doesn't, I'm not sure why our bill still had VAT and service charge additions. Then, the waitress inputted something extra on the bill and instead of going back to reprint, deducted it on the spot and gave a story about how she can't reprint a bill. I didn't get that. Also, the drinks were good. I had a nonalcoholic strawberry daiquiri and my partner had orange juice. So, that was good.

It wasn’t great, customer service was not it. I order a meal La tarvena chicken and it was raw on the inside. So I came again and ordered same meal after a while it was described to have spicy potatoes, they gave me fried chips, and no herbed hummus as the meal said, I complained and the head chef sat on the side initially while the manger came and argued with me that there was no hummus in the meal till we brought the menu and they saw it and offered to fix it, I declined but they insisted and brought the meal back and it was cold, after I complained again and said I didn’t want it again, they insisted on fixing it and giving me a complimentary, my friend agreed despite my reservations and they came back with with a sandwich, and the original meal I ordered which was a quarter chicken was missing. They claimed they had trashed it because according to them “I didn’t want it” and I needed to pay for it because they gave me a complimentary. Now guys know this I didn’t leave with the main dish ( la tarvena chicken) neither did I leave with the complimentary but they made sure I paid for it. Horrible customer service if you ask me. Mistakes are inevitable, but when both the head chef and the manager can’t do right ITS A NO

Located within the worse hotel I have been to in a while. Long time that I have been in a more mosquito infested place, offering utterly pathetic complimentary breakfast where you have to pay for your water or Nescafe sachets separately. A laptop was stolen and staff did not care. A pool which is so green that it reminds you of a lush forest. A pathetic place all round. And the restaurant displays a huge non-compliance poster at its entrance

I went in for their “Pasta Thursday”, and I have to say…the pasta was mid (I’m sorry). I however did appreciate that they had non-alcoholic wine. The views are subpar (sorry again). The Lagos branch is doing so much better. Ciao!

A Chilean/Mexican restaurant located in a hotel in the heart of Abuja Positives: Good rustic vibes, going for that homely feel indoors plus an outdoor seating area with a good view lots of air. Usually has recorded music playing in the background The menu has lots of different meals than the average served in Abuja, food is very tasty. The pizza is thin crust and really easy on the palate. The smoothies are also quite good. The staff are very courteous and attentive. Quick to respond. Negatives: Quite pricey for the amount of food served. Portions for the traditional dishes were surprisingly small, also we got served the smallest commercially available PET bottles of water and soda. The menu could be more descriptive seeing as these are not commonly eaten meals in Abuja, maybe a picture of the meal might work.

I’ve been here twice. This place has a really nice atmosphere, great for group gatherings or dinners where you want to have conversations. You need to try their pizza which is very scrumptious and oven baked (it’s very thin though, so you’ll want a full one to yourself) Their sangria is also a hit, so you should definitely try that. They have a lovely outdoor sitting and also a great indoor space as well. I always enjoy my time there so I forget to take pictures. 🤷🏿‍♀️

Went on a Wednesday for the N2500 Pizza deal. The Chicken BBQ pizza was really tasty and melts in the mouth; enough chicken atop. But I was a bit surprised at how thin it was. (No crust) Good ambience and there's a seat-out as well. Place was swamped with expats. Would recommend.

La Taverna is a very welcome addition to Abuja's food scene. The ambience is great and airy both indoors and outdoors (it has a rooftop outdoor sitting area). The food tastes great too and they've got a nice sangria on the menu. I really like their chicken salad and the complimentary bruschetta. Price wise I'd say it's mid-range. It's a great space for hosting a large group of people and have a good selection for a set menu or group meals.

I personally think this place has a lot of potential because it has a nice rooftop open air sitting area and a cozy indoor sitting with a wine stand. So i don't understand why on the day i visited, they were so disorganized, service was delayed, and the food was a bit off (bland). However, the staff tried to make up for this by constantly apologising. This place could be much more.

Visited for a Sunday dinner. Atmosphere was conducive. Food presentation was not in anyway impressive. The rice dish ordered still had a lot of water in it and the chicken used to prepare the stir-fry rice was absolutely tasteless. Nothing felt Chilean/ Spanish in the dish for 5000 naira. No music was playing in the background and the waiters got noisy at some point. Not likely to visit again for . a mealmain. Will try out their pizza on one of these Wednesday
