A hidden gem. Me and my husband ❣️ food and we like visiting different restaurants wherever we are. Rarely do we visit the same place again. Shalimar restaurant is one of the extremely few restaurants where we visited for the first time but have decided to come back again and again. What's good? EVERYTHING!. The food is delicious, there is a huge variety and value for money. The ambience is awesome and they have a fantastic playlist (music plays continuously in the restaurant). The staff behaviour is also good. I recommend this restaurant with 5/5 stars

Few points of improvement (also reported to lady at the desk) 1. Cleanliness of food - Small Hair and small stone in fried rice... 2. Quality of chicken was not good... 3. Handwash at the wash basin was diluted to the power infinity. Hopefully the owner would improve these issues. The ambience was good and hopefully after next visit I get a chance to improve the rating

We Ordered Biriyani For 6 Person, Biriyani Taste Wasn't Bad, But Not too Good, Compare to Pricing Of Another Restaurant Like This! High Pricing Of Every Food Item Compare to Restaurant Decoration, Small Dinning, But Stuff Behaviour is Very Good.

My second visit here and the experience has changed. Wasn't quite satisfied with the service a year ago but things have changed now. The staff is very responsive, polite and cheerful! The food was good, to be specific the tandoori chicken was great! Would love to visit again!

This place is one of the most decent places in this area. The ambience is quite nice and soothing and the staffs are very cooperative and helpfull. And the food is awesome. Its very tasty and rich in flavours also in a reasonable price range. Portion size is also good. And also it has a menu full of varieties. In my suggestion they should change the decoration though cause the interior is very pretty but the decoration is not suitable with the interior.

This place has been renovated recently, food is good! Mainly the chinese items are the best! But the best thing about the place is their hospitality(best in town). Staff behaviour is very good and polite!

The plan was to have dinner but the starter and the mocktails were horrible that we did not order anything else. Most of the items were not there and we never had a salty Virgin Mojito and Blue Lagoon. We had only BBQ chicken (that too we did not enjoy). One point I would like to mention is the staffs are really good and that's the only good point of this place.

The food here is awesome. Pocket friendly and the behavior of the staff is great and humble. A place to visit if you love quality food.!!!

We had planned for a day visit to Chandannagar on 10th January from Kolkata and had lunch here. Before entering they sanitized us. The food preparation was awesome, good taste good quantity and quality. The staffs behaviour was down to earth. Highly recommend to visit this restaurant.

It is just sudden plan, even we not aware about this hidden restaurant, actually we are just entering in another place which is popular enough just next to this place, but we made sudden mind change and visited this wander restaurant just for a try. Today we went for a day trip to Chandanagar and had lunch at Shalimar Restaurant. We had fabulous experience. The behaviour of the staffs was great, the place was neat and clean and the food was very very tasty and not spicy also.

Please do not go here. They do not know how to manage tables and cannot handle groups of more than 5 people. The food is also not that great. They took 1.5 hrs to serve a group of 6 people (in my case) and that too after reminding them several times.Even after this they forgot few dishes.

Just Wow!!! What a food, yummy with hot serving, starter to desert. A good arrangement in such a short notice. Beautifully arranged lawn for us,with prompt service. I would like to come again and again and would recommend everyone for the same. We have arranged a family get together of 25 paks on 26th January. They provided with space when no one could.

It's been a nice place to lunch on or to dine out. It carries the characteristic French Gothic architecture and the ambience is also gets blended in. Though some of the few items were unavailable but the ones served were too tasty and quality deserves an appreciation.

Well the place is great and is located very close to the Rani Ghat and Strand Area. You can easily hop in to this place once you're feeling hungry and you're near strand road as this is in a walking distance from there. The ambience and the atmosphere of the resturant is worth appreciation also the behaviour of the staffs are very good and generous. The food serving time is a bit more than other restaurants as the food is prepared keeping in mind all safety measures and seperately for each order. The taste is also very good. This place is a must visit for those who loves food and go to chandanagar strand.

It is very nice experience to visit here. Excellent ambience created with Sukumar Ray - Old Chandannagar - and quality Bengali songs. Foods were just delicious 😋, specially Chicken Duck Bunglow and Garlic Prawn. Behaviour of staffs were nice . I would appreciate if they could arrange to add some authentic Bengali cuisine dishes to their menu, and fill their walls with Bengal's art and Heritage .

Shalimar Hotel and Restaurant is one of the oldest and best restaurant of Chandannagar. It's situated in a prime location. The dine in area is neat and clean and what is more impressive is the portraits on the wall with sketches and excerpt from Abol-Tabol of Sukumar Roy. It caters a wide variety of foods like indian Chinese continental etc. Rate is ok and taste is superb. Wish to visit again.
