Ambience is attractive. The restaurant is clean and well maintained. You can enjoy your food with a beautiful river view. We wanted to try their Aahare Bangali Aamish Thali but it was not available on weekends. So we ordered fresh lime soda, Kolkata style chicken Biryani, Mutton Kosha, Fried rice, non veg hakka noodles and Fried ice cream. Fresh lime soda was very bad and we hardly found any meat given in Mutton Kasha. It were 4 bones served with gravy. Other items were good. The fried ice cream was delicious. The price is a bit high but 2 people can easily eat one item ordered from the menu. Overall it is good.

Jalashree is one of the most beautiful restaurants in Hooghly District. It's a floating restaurant at Stand Ghat, Chandannagar. The air conditioner part is on a launch and free air part on a jetty. It's an amazing experience to spend time on the river. Good food, good ambience and good people. But, a little bit expensive.

Loved this place actually for the riverside ambience. I Prefered to sit outside for experiencing the environment and to spent time. And the food quality was okay whereas the prices were high compare to the food quality.

Amazing restaurant off Chandannagar Strand. Prices are a bit on the higher side. But the quality, quantity and ambience makes it worth every penny of it. Special mention to the ambience. While having food, you get an 180Β° view of the river. You can see the bank of Jagaddal on the other side. Great experience

The ambiance is the only attraction. This place needs a lot of improvements. Being a restaurant the primary focus must be on making the food taste really good. The food price is not justifying the taste. Overall it's a place you can visit once for the experience.

Atlast a evening time we visited the RiviΓ©re Habitat also known as Joloshree. This is the only fine dine floating restaurant on the river Ganges in Hooghly District. This sitting area has two parts. One indoor which is movable like luxury boat and another open air jetty. Ambiance was attractive. We had ordered Shami kebab, Crispy chilli garlic fish, Chicken burnt garlic fried rice, Fish in black pepper sause, hot garlic chicken and Darshan with ice-cream. All items were good to taste, worthy according to quantity and price. Staff's were professional and cordial. Overall good experience and recommend to all.

Awesome experience… I went there with my wife on the eve of Christmas 2023. There was a little bit of rush during the afternoon. Although we got our table within 15-20min. We got table on the upper cabin. In one word the experience was awesome. Quality of food, service, ambiance everything is just perfect. One can get a feeling of flotel Kolkata hare. Price of food is a bit higher which is somewhat manageable for such a beautiful location.

Ambience is great. The view is excellent. Food is nice but a lot expensive according to the quantity which is why i have reduced one star. Another star is reduced for the ill habit of staff members which is they take away the dishes and glasses as soon as you have finished without waiting for the call. Otherwise a nice place to hang out if you want to enjoy a good view .

5/5- For the Ambience 5/5- For the service 5/5 - For the Food Deducting 1 star as I see there is a scope of improvement for the Veg menu, felt like it’s somewhat limited. Perfect place to hangout with Friends or Family, apt ambience for a Date as well.

The luxurious Joloshree floating restaurant in Chandannagar was inagurated by the Hon'ble Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee. Historically the Ganga that flows by Chandannagar is witness to several battles, bloodshed and trading prowess of ancient Bengal. Planned and taken forward by the Department of Tourism, Government of West Bengal, the new Boat Restaurant, Joloshree, will thus remind of the rich cultural heritage of this area and of Bengal at large. It will be stationed at a jetty beside the historic Chandannagar Strand. A cultural collaboration and revival of the river in this region based on the idea of Heritage Cruise Tourism will add an advantage to this circuit. The restaurant boat is of 33 m length, 4.87 m in breadth and 1.40 m in depth. The engine is 160 P.S. with a speed of 6 knots. Around 48 persons can occupy the restaurant at a time and hence can be booked for small get togethers. We spent the New year Eve 2024 there. Let me tell you that it was an amazing experience. The service is very nice. And the food was good too but I think it's somewhat overpriced. The ambience of this place is just wow. Must go there.

Okay so for me this was the best experience ever. If you live in kolkata . I'll really suggest you to once visit Joloshree which is in Chandannagar strand road. Visited last day and the foods were mouthwatering. You can also enjoy the view of river Ganga from it. They serve you the fresh foods instantly and the staffs are so good at their behaviour . Want to visit again ❀️ Must try the wok tossed sesame spanich fish as a starter ❀️

A lovely restaurant on the Ganges with not very many seats… so if u go late be ready for long wait … as they do first come first serve after u go there .. no reservations are taken .. the food is terrific and if next level good .. it’s fresh and very very tasty .. spice levels are high so pls be warned .. the prices are a bit high but it’s totally worth it.. since it’s in chandonnnager we can spend a day strolling around after lunch and make a day of it ..

This floating restaurant on the river Hooghly is a great eating option while you are travelling through Chandannagore or the adjacent locationsΒ  . The following is myΒ  experience at the restaurant ( Rating in a Scale of 5, 5 being highest):- A. Location : At Rani ghat, The Strand, Chandannagar. This restaurantis located on a barge anchored on the river Hooghly. Opening Hours is 12.30 pm till 10.30 pm. (Rating 4.5) B. Cuisine :Β  Multi cuisine , serves Indian, chinese and quick snacks as well. (Rating 4) C. Ambience: The decor of the restaurant with dark and light contrast themed interior , row ofΒ  large glass windows facing the river,Β  gives it a great warm feeling. The decor is simplistic but warm.(Rate 4.5). D. Food tried : We had our lunch at the place. We started wit GholΒ  (Ra. 145) and Golden Fried Prawns ( Rs. 545). Aa main course, we ordered mutton Rogan Josh ( Rs. 455) and Tandoori Roti (Rs. 45). We had Kesar Firni (Rs. 200) as dessert. (Rating 4) E. Food taste: All the items we tried were well prepared. Value for money: At Rs. 1729Β  for the wholesome lunch for two, it was slightly pricey,Β  but considering the location, decor and overall ambience, I find the place value for money and good to try,Β  if you are around this area.(Rating 4) I. Set up and arrangement is really great. We spent an evening and enjoyed sunset from there . Menu caters quite wide range of food. We ordered snacks ,sorbets. Taste ,portions was good. Sitting arrangements are available inside with AC as well as outside with open air ambience .Both has its own unique attraction. So,the food with feeling of floating in water vessel adds a different vibe there. Only thing I felt is the hospitality could have been a little better considering the standard of the place and the price they are asking. One of the reasons may be peak cloud period in weekend evening.

Visited here for the first time, We had a great experience here. It's feels unique to have a dinner while floating over Ganga river. You can either seat inside the AC hall or you can have your food in the open section outside. The restaurant looks really awesome at night with all the lights. But in the day time you can see water through the glasses while having your lunch. The food was average nothing special, but you should try it mainly because of the unique experience.

Overall the restaurant is better than any other in spite of atmosphere. As this is a floating resturant in the river Ganges. You won't find another one like this apart from Kolkata. Food is satisfactory but on the pricey side. Atmosphere is totally awesome. Price worthy. Although they don't sail in the Ganges right now as before. If you're thinking about coming with family please don't hesitate. Overall good experience and worth the money.

I got to know about this place through one of my relatives and wanted to visit with my family. On a fine Sunday afternoon we reached there, route is very simple I stay in Barrackpore so one can take a train from barrackpore to jagadal station, from there one can hire toto or auto to the ghat, finally need to cross the river Ganga with the help of steamer or ferry. On the port you can see the restaurant. Staff over there were so welcoming and well mannerned, they helped us settel down and were continuosly checking on us if we need anything or not and also were informing us about the disshes. Food was delicious but I wasn't lucky enough to enjoy the restaurant sail in the river but my relative was. Staffs informed us that they don't have any fixed timing to sail in the water but it is mandatory in a day. But anyways environment, food and staff behaviour was perfect. I would highly recommend this place for family outing as well date nights. Please do visit .

The food was good enough, but there's a lot of other places you can go to, to get good food, but the thing that is supposed to make this restaurant special and unique, aka letting the diners get a good view of the river Ganga, is completely neglected.. they have chairs with their backs facing, the frosted, dirty windows that are supposed to give you a view of the river. Their whole setup is an absolute waste. Now talking about one of the features, which is a compulsion in all restaurants, hygiene, is something that they don't have. In the waiting area, if you look up at the ceiling, you'll see tens if not hundreds of flies, sitting in clumps; and if that's not disturbing enough, we had flies sitting on our cutlery as well....

Another classic example how a fantastic initiative is lagging behind because we don't care to keep our ganges clean...the shame is ours. Otherwise the floating restaurant experience is great, staff behaviour is amazing. But when you have a nice window side table and want to enjoy the amazing river view you see plastic bottles, shampoo sachets swimming by!!! We tried the cream of chicken soup which was great, the fried fish with spinach and sesame was not.I wanted a chicken roulade which was not available so had a baked fish with mama rosa sauce instead..which tasted just like lemon butter sauce so am not sure if they added one instead of the other. But quality of bekti fish was really nice. We paid INR1100 for three dishes. They have an extensive menu with chinese, Indian and continental fare. You first need to buy tickets from a makeshift counter which opens at 12noon for 50 bucks and this is adjusted with the bill if you choose to eat here. Ideal for a winter lunch, prime location so you can view the church, museum, walk along grand strand within 5 to 10 minutes from the restaurant.

Amidst the bank of the Hooghly river, this floating restaurant is one of its kind. One of the most noticeable aspects of this place is the sublime view of the river from the restaurant itself. Now coming to the food, really loved each and every dish I've had, especially the Ceaser Salad and the Mac N Cheese. The quantity as per the price point is absolutely worth. Hence, it's highly recommended to come here and experience the vibe.

The restaurant has been shifted 50mtrs from where it was before. Now, it has a dedicated ghat. On the weekends you might have to wait for 30 minutes. The food is tasty but costs too much. For a couple, 1200 is approx cost to fill your tummy. The ambience is the best thing here. The evening time is the most mesmerizing lighting.

The location and the atmosphere is very good. One can enjoy the food in fresh gangetic breeze and the river view, there are enough ceiling fan in outside sitting area too so one can opt for outside sitting in summer too. There is option for indoor sitting too which is well decorated and air conditioned. Indoor sitting area is two storey one, it is a fixed boat like structure, having a anchor and ropes . The entry point is nice one, it is small bridge and fully illuminated. Outside sitting area is decorated with car tires and the napkin tray is unique one . Food quality could have been better. The quantity was good. Mutton biryani, and fried rice was very oily. No option for special biriyani so it is not shareable but quantity of rice was very large quantity. Seat booking needed for weekend visit.

This place is situated just opposite of Chandannagar Police Station. You can easily reach here. The view of the river flowing while dining is just wonderful. We had Lahori Murgh Tikka & Cajun Spiced Fish Fingers as starters. And for the main course we had Basanti Pulao, Mahi Tikka Butter Masala & Kadai Murgh. The food was really delicious and the ambience just added up to make it more memorable.

Price too high... Atmosphere is nice but according to price it's not that much justified. Title: Floating Delight: A Unique Experience at the River Floating Restaurant, offers a unique dining experience that combines picturesque surroundings with delicious cuisine. While it presents a novel concept, my visit left me with mixed feelings, resulting in an average review. The setting of the floating restaurant is undeniably captivating. Gliding gently on the river's surface, it provides scenic views of the surrounding landscape. The tranquil waters and gentle breeze create a pleasant ambiance that adds to the dining experience. The menu at the restaurant offers a decent variety of dishes, showcasing local flavors and international cuisine. The quality of the food was generally satisfactory, with some dishes standing out more than others. However, the prices seemed slightly inflated considering the overall dining experience. Service at the floating restaurant was a mixed bag. While the staff was friendly and attentive, the waiting times for both taking orders and receiving food were longer than expected. Additionally, some aspects of the restaurant's infrastructure, such as seating arrangements and table cleanliness, could benefit from improvement. The novelty of dining on a floating restaurant is undoubtedly an appealing aspect. However, it's important to manage expectations, as the experience may be hindered by factors like weather conditions or crowdedness during peak hours. In summary, the river floating restaurant offers a unique dining experience with scenic views and satisfactory food. However, there is room for improvement in terms of service efficiency and overall value for money. If you're seeking an unusual dining experience and are willing to overlook some drawbacks, it's worth giving it a try.

I heard about the place long back but recently visited there all of a sudden. I just loved the ambience and due to festive season it was well decorated. I had my all time favorite 🐟 (fish and chips) 🍟 with Cold coffee and a Mojito.. Price is on the higher side I must say, but fish and chips taste was good, the fish was fresh. But I was disappointed with my coffee. It was bland. The service was nice πŸ‘Œ. Another disheartening thing is that it doesn't have a fixed timing to float around. I feel they should have a fixed timing to float around. As i am paying the same amount and not getting to enjoy a ride whereas some other person is getting an exclusive experience. Authority should look into this matter.

Located very near to the Chandanagore ferry ghat and The Strand, the ambience of the restaurant is excellent. As we went there after attending an invitation in the afternoon, we only had freshly brewed coffee which was served with some delicious cookies. The ambience of the restaurant is excellent and with a good view of ganges. It is a must visit place for romantic couples especially in the evenings. We would definitely taste other available items next time we visit the restaurant and provide review of the same.

Floating restaurant 😁, nestled on the banks of the Ganges(Hooghly river) . It specialises in Bengali and Chinese cousins. The decor is elegant along with calming and peaceful ambience πŸ˜‡β˜ΊοΈ . The interior decoration is modern and the system of menu card viewing is very unique (digital menu card) . It feels unique to have a meal while floating over river Ganges , you can either sit inside of the AC hall or you can have your food in the open section outside. I sat inside the AC hall and enjoyed my meal (yummy veg hakka noodles along with Shanghai style fish πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹) and also enjoyed the water side view through the glasses while eating 😍😍 . The food was good in taste but nothing so special but you should try at least once for the unique experience 😁

Joloshree Restaurant - A Flavorful Delight in Chandannagar, West Bengal During my recent visit to Chandannagar, a charming city in West Bengal, I had the pleasure of dining at Joloshree Restaurant. This popular eatery, known for its delectable cuisine and warm ambiance, left a lasting impression on my taste buds. I would like to share my thoughts and highlight the standout dish I enjoyed at Joloshree Restaurant - the Fish Butter Fry. Joloshree Restaurant is located in the heart of Chandannagar and offers a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The restaurant's friendly and attentive staff made me feel welcomed from the moment I stepped in. The interior was tastefully decorated, with comfortable seating arrangements and a pleasant ambiance that added to the overall dining experience. Now, let's talk about the star of the show - the Fish Butter Fry. This signature dish at Joloshree Restaurant was truly a culinary delight. The fish fillets were expertly marinated in a flavorful blend of spices and herbs before being coated in a crispy batter and fried to perfection. The result was a succulent and tender piece of fish with a delightful crunch on the outside. The buttery notes elevated the dish to a whole new level, adding richness and enhancing the flavors of the fish. The Fish Butter Fry was accompanied by a selection of delectable sides. The fragrant basmati rice provided the perfect base for the dish, allowing the flavors to meld together harmoniously. The restaurant also served a refreshing cucumber and tomato salad, which added a crisp and tangy element to balance the richness of the fish. This thoughtful combination of flavors and textures created a well-rounded and satisfying culinary experience. Aside from the Fish Butter Fry, Joloshree Restaurant offered a diverse menu featuring an array of Bengali and Indian delicacies. From classic curries to sizzling tandoori dishes, there was something to suit every palate. The restaurant's commitment to using fresh ingredients and authentic spices was evident in every dish, ensuring an unforgettable dining experience. The service at Joloshree Restaurant was commendable. The staff members were attentive, polite, and knowledgeable about the menu. They were more than happy to accommodate any special requests or dietary preferences, making the dining experience personalized and enjoyable. In conclusion, Joloshree Restaurant in Chandannagar, West Bengal, is a hidden gem for food enthusiasts seeking a memorable culinary experience. The Fish Butter Fry, with its perfect blend of flavors and textures, is a must-try dish that showcases the culinary expertise of the restaurant. Combined with the warm ambiance and attentive service, dining at Joloshree Restaurant is a delightful experience for both locals and visitors alike.
