Super bummed about our stay here. Booked for two nights and only ended up staying one. Lobby is clean and nice, room was clean and comfortable. Our problems were with the crazy noise. Our whole family was awake for about 2 hours from midnight to 2 AM because of noisy guests and slamming room doors as well as street noise. I don't blame this on the staff or expect them to control it - Marriott needs to update this hotel to deal with the noise issues. Was made worse by the lack of concern when reported to hotel staff at the front desk the next morning. Employee did not offer an apology or seem to care. In fact, I was told I would get a refund, but when I called back later in the day found out that she never even actually checked us out. Definitely will not be going back.

On behalf of Georgia States band.. we were pleasantly surprised with this hotel. It was very nice, very clean, and i LOVED the fact that the floors inside the hotel were hardwood. It made me feel much better about cleanliness. Upon arrival the hotel is gorgeous and they had this cute little coffee shop inside , the strawberry banana smoothie i had was AMAZING. I would definitely come back and book her when i am on a personal trip.

Very modern, sleek rooms. Whisper quiet air conditioning, heats or cools the room very quickly to your choice of temperature. Very very comfy beds. No place to put luggage, though, super tiny closet to hang shirts for 5 days meeting stay; fortunately I had no roommate! Front desk service was poor. Not every clerk there knows how to enter your Bonvoy membership to enable WiFi. Very long and slow line at the front desk most of the time. 3 people in front of you means 15 min wait.

Nice, contemporary hotel at the heart of Charlotte. The rooms were clean & loved that there was no carpet. I appreciated the hot water (most hotels only have lukewarm). I took one star off because the doors don’t prevent any amount of noise. We could hear everything when someone walked by. I’m not a fan of mandatory valet because of the long wait to get your car while other families are packing or unpacking. Otherwise, a great stay. Destiny at the service counter was very pleasant & recommended some good places to visit while in Charlotte.

I could not believe the bad experience I had with such a highly rated hotel. First, there was confusion at check-in since my company paid for the room but they insisted on my card to pay for the room, not just as a hold, but to debit my account. I did not make a scene as I knew I could have my corporate travel agent handle it the next morning but the night desk clerks were just rude after this and not helpful at all when checking in or answering questions about amenities or the area. I got to the room late at night after travel so just wanted to order dinner and relax. Turns out, they do not have room service but the website says they do. I tried to go to the hotel restaurant, stood at the front door for a while and when no one came to greet/seat me, I went across the street for takeout. I came back and tried to get a water bottle from the vending machine but got a Mtn Dew (not the first complaint on this subject as I found out). They give you one coffee each (1 caff-1 decaf) and two paper cups in your room. After the first day when you've used your coffee/cups, there is no housekeeping that asks if you would like more (I understand not cleaning each room during stays but replenishing what you've used would be nice). I had to wash my paper cup to use again. The front desk person later told me you have to request this each time but again, not told to you until you get back from all-day meetings and have no coffee for the next morning. There is a cafe for breakfast/lunch and they were very nice, the food was good and fresh; a welcome change from the rest of the "high-end" hotel and staff. This area of Charlotte is a beautiful city but I have asked my travel coordinators to never book me at this particular hotel again.

This hotel is very well done and has plenty of food options on site. I had nothing but great service from every employee we ran into. The location in downtown is very convenient to Nascar Hall of Fame and Epicenter. The rooms are very nice and has a fridge. We did use the gym which was probably one of the nicest, most well equipped I've seen in a very long time. There were really only two negatives and they were big ones for us. For one, they do not have a pool. Super bummed about that. The other bummer was there is a night club right across the street and we it is LOUD at night. Made it hard to relax until the music finally got quitter around 10-11pm. Overall, I will give it 5 stars though because food options, a good gym, clean rooms that are well appointed and exceptional service.

My stay at Charlotte Marriott Center City was the absolute worst ever. When I already on 2/2/24 I was greeted by Pierre. Her service and attention to detail was phenomenal. She did a wonderful job selecting the perfect room for my stay. Once I got to the elevator none of the elevators were working so I have to sit in the lobby for about 10 minutes before I was able to go to my room. The room was clean and have a good view. The stay got horrible when I was awakened at 9AM by security banging loudly on my door demanding I come downstairs. I started to panic thinking something bad has happened. When I got to the door security states my card declined and they need a new form of payment. I paid with my credit card so I knew this had to be a mistake. I got dressed and headed to the front desk. When I got to the front desk I tell the young lady what just happened. When she looks at my room she then apologize and states this was a mistake on their end. They tried to charge my card double for parking. I was devastated that it’s 9AM in the morning and I was wakened by Marriott employees for an issue that was a mistake on their end. This has been the worst stay at Marriott and would like this issue to definitely be looked into by Marriott. I was treated very poorly and less than. This should have never happened. Also to add the phones in the rooms does not work. We had to use our phone to call the front desk.

I wish I could give this more stars because it stating it’s a 4 star is a push. The downstairs area of the hotel is fantastic however the room cleanliness and the staffs service is horrible. I am giving it more stars for the location but again nothing great. I’ll start by my check in process. I’ve been a Marriott rewards staying many times at tons of hotels. I asked for an early check in even doing it the day before. Just put in 10 am hoping to get in around 1 or 2. Wanting to have at least 24 hours with a room I’m paying for only for me to call at 2 pm and be told we were packed last night and it’s never not will be “guaranteed for an early check in” and that they “will let us know” when they “will check us in.” The staff was super off putting, around arrival at 345 when our room was so called ready we weren’t greeted by anyone the valet took our keys and our name and ran. The front desk didn’t smile say hi just said ID and that was it. We called to get extra waters and towels and they said sure and never even brought anything. we tried 3x and so we ended up taking them off of the maid in the hallway. The room was gross- layers of dust on the lamps, around the mirror, so much it was falling off when the hair dryer it it with air. The sheets had black dots and were so wrinkly it looked like they weren’t changed. There were rings where drinks were on the glass and the mirrors in the bathroom were chipped and sharp. There were left over ear cleaners and trash between the sink and wall, and dark curly hairs in the shower. From the hours of 5 am on you could hear what was maybe house keeping pounding on doors we thought it was a woodpecker. The view of the room looked into a parking lot and old air conditioners. The location was the only positive and it doesn’t even get more On checkout not one person said thank you, acknowledged us, the valet handed us our keys put his hand out for a tip and that was it no greeting nothing. Staff in the bar was great last night for the one drink we had and breakfast took 1 hour for an omelette. I would not stay here again not even for the less than 24 hours that cost me over 300-400 bucks for it. Good luck to this place because I see why it’s reviews are declining.

We were in town for the Panthers game and this is one of our favorite hotels to stay at. The staff has always been polite and professional. The M Club is real nice. Say hello to Phillip in the M Club, he'll help you get your day started right. He was very professional and polite. The beds are super comfortable and the rooms are very clean. Nice stay for a good price.

This was the perfect hotel for our stay. Right across the street from the Charlotte Hornets. This is a dog friendly hotel. They have a small dog walk on one of the floors. Perfect if you have your furry companion with you. The rooms were very nice. No carpet which I loved. Clean. The employees were nice and helpful.

We booked a room for a wedding block for three nights. Because of the fact that the room block was only for two we had to have two separate room reservations. It was originally booked under my name but we called to have the name switched under my husbands since he was a Marriott rewards member. When we checked in to the hotel they told us we had two reservations, one under each of our names and once we explained our conversation with whomever booked our rooms, they told us they would cancel the other reservation. We then were charged for two reservations. When we called to have the charge removed they declined saying both reservations were still active. We were never given a key to a second room, the room under the second reservation, as we were told at check in it was canceled. When we spoke with them after the fact they said they would check to see if the room key was ever used and get back to us which it never was as we were never even given that key. We were told we would still not receive a refund. We cant get through to anyone who can actually help and are still out hundreds of dollars. This is easily the worst customer service we have ever experienced and we will no longer stay at any Marriott hotels. In addition to this the walls were paper thin and we heard people the entire night until 3am.

Stayed here one night and customer service was top notch, Vi was so helpful upon check in. As a platinum elite member I was upgraded to a higher tier room. Decent food/ beverages at M lounge and a restaurant/bar on the first floor as well. Fitness center was bigger than most hotels I’ve stayed at. Overall pleased with stay and would recommend to anyone staying in the Uptown Charlotte area.

Beautiful Hotel. The staff are wonderful - I have to specifically mention Hie (sp?). She is fantastic. The location is perfect to everything. I went to a Charlotte Hornets (NBA) game the other night. The arena is a very safe 3 block walk from the hotel. There aren't many NBA arenas in which you can safely walk to and from.

Marriott city center is in a good location downtown. It is very walkable to many attractions and restaurants. There are lots of places to hang out if you're looking for that. The rooms are nicely appointed with adequate sizing, but could use a bit more natural light. First time we visited during COVID and they didn't have valet. We were allowed to self park in the hotel's very tight parking garage. We also visited after COVID and chose to self park in a garage around the corner, which was a lot more space and a little less expensive. The restaurant in the hotel is very good as we enjoyed breakfast daily and it was flavorful. Overall, I would recommend this hotel and return when in Charlotte.

Service was wonderful. I stayed here last weekend for a conference that is normally once a year, but the past 2 years were cancelled because of the pandemic. "No problem" was said over and over again, to accommodate our large group, as we celebrated finally being able to reconnect. We stayed up LATE, chatting at the bar. "No problem," the bar tender said. Her service was excellent, her cocktails were top notch. I asked, "Can I take my carafe of coffee from breakfast buffet to the conference room for the morning meeting session?" My waitress replied, "No problem." Her service, too, was wonderful. I forgot to request a late check out, which I needed. I hustled to the front desk at 11:30, half an hour after I was supposed to have vacated my room. "No problem," the desk associate said, "We'll take care of you."

I truly enjoyed staying at this location. The property was beautiful and the staff went above and beyond. I was met with the pleasurable smile of Adrianna. She was very helpful and nice. However my superstar was Porfirio. He was so gentle and understanding. Porfirio's empathy and world class customer service skills brightened my visit. His effective listening and eagerness to help definitely left a permanent positive memory for my lovely experience. You're gonna enjoy staying at the Marriott. Make sure to tell Porfirio and Adrianna hello and to please keep up the good work.

Valet staff are great (I had to drive early each morning and they had my car waiting) and location is central. Hotel front desk service leaves much to be desired and not consistent with a 4 star facility. They have an unmanned drop off area where people can leave & grab packages that is totally unmonitored, which is both dangerous and vulnerable to theft as it’s near the front entrance. Huge opportunity for process improvement here. They don’t notify guests of mail deliveries, and while the website says room service is offered, it is not. Would not recommend this hotel for an extended work trip in which you have to live here. Suitable for a short vacation or conference.

Everything was good until I requested a blanket which was hard as a brick like it never touched fabric softener which made my stay ok but not comfortable!!! To pay the amount of money for these rooms my comfort is very important! The bed was also so small to be a queen bed! I was not comfortable!

Great hotel, convenient to everything and has a great coffee shop. Only negative was the tall a$$hole bartender. Everyone else very nice and helpful.

Went for wedding that was taking place across the street. Hotel was clean & attractive. Called for more creamer & coffee, it was delivered within 1hr. Valet people were very attentive and quick. Good location if attending any events downtown.

Rooms are clean and the hotel itself is nice. Great lounge for platinum members. BUT it’s not a great marriot for two big reasons. 1) beds and pillows are garbage and 2) I’ve had issues with the service. The people working there are nice enough but on multiple occasions I have called the front desk to no answer. Then I walk down to the front desk, and someone is standing there. Plus, I have told them while checking out to send my folio via email. I didn’t get them so I called and asked they do so. Still a day later and nothing has been sent. I’ve stayed a Fairfield inns with better customer service (and better beds). Also, three stays in a row I have showed up to the soap dispensers in my bathroom being empty. I’m not a super picky guy but come on…

We picked the Marriott City Center for our wedding guest hotel block and we couldn’t be more pleased. The rooms were clean and modern, the bar and restaurants downstairs were perfect for our guests. They also did a great job handing out welcome bags to all our guests, which can be a tricky task. Highly recommend!

Check-in at this hotel was one of the best experiences we've ever had. I wish I could remember her name (Simpa?!) She was such a good energy and the perfect introduction to the hotel. Excellent front desk. Location is great, rooms were clean and spacious. The only bad experience I had was when I called back 1 hour after checking out to get the young lady name at Front Desk so I can continue to write this review I was treated with discourteous and no attempt to help. Doesn't make sense because I stated I'm currently writing the review to rave about a current employee. Also the room is too nice for the ceiling to be peeling 😔

Huge shout out to Aleck at the front desk who went above and beyond for us! This was one of the nicest hotel experiences we’ve ever had. The staff/valet were amazing. The location is great - and so close to everything. We’ll definitely be staying here again!

We did not have a great experience with the Charlotte Marriott City Center for our wedding hotel block & I would not recommend it to anyone in the Charlotte area. To begin, we were tossed between multiple different contacts within the hotel. There were so many communication issues & I have confirmations in writing via email that were then taken away after the fact. For example I was guaranteed there would be no attrition, then I was informed after I signed the contract that that was not the case. No one contacted me or checked in leading up to the wedding. Overall working with this hotel was one of the worst parts of wedding planning.

I stay here quite a lot for the simple fact that some of the rooms, like the Presidential series and a few others have a "conference room" INSIDE of the room equipped with a large table and even a quite large television for meetings and demonstrations. The rooms as you would expect are spectacular and meticulously cleaned and thoroughly sanitized. Most offer very good views of Uptown Charlotte and how great the city has come to look. The Presidential rooms have 4 separate rooma each. A large living area, equipped with stellar entertainment options a nice comfortable couch, great TV and sound and even a home like coffee table. The kitchen isnt perse separate but it is well divided from the conference room/dining area by a bar with good seats, a full size fridge, stove and oven. The dining area/slash conference or.meeting room is separate from the living area by a very nice wall with shelves on it, I do a LOT of demonstrations here for my Uptown clients and have had up to 9 people including me comfortably seated in it. It has a huge display for presentations and Skype calls and many more business accomodations. It doesn't leave you wanting for anything more. The guest bathroom is comfortably sized but I do wish it were slightly bigger but overall nice. The bedroom sits behind its own door and is, as you would expect, marvelous to be in. Everything from the bed to the what I call the study and meditation area are just wonderful. I live in this city and usually just use rooms during working hours to meet with clients and get away from home where I usually work, but I actually SLEEP at this hotel. It seriously outdoes my own home bedroom. And I love my bedroom. The private bath is marvelous and is handicapped equipped which I need and best of all. It is white glove clean. I don't usually interact with the staff much but it's sad to say that they give me a bad look and are even slightly irritated when i come to stay here. Now I am a music producer, DJ and software developer but I do dress the part of a dubstep/trap/electronic music producer which I understand may impact their image. No one has ever actually been rude to me. But unless I'm button downed and clean shaven I get snotty looks each and every time, but a flat bill hat and unkempt beard will do that to a man I guess. Location. ITS UPTOWN. There IS NO OTHER LOCATION. My entire world from production, to DJing to coding for clients like Duke Energy exists here. I don't eat food unless Uptown exists. And this hotel is slap dab IN THE MIDDLE of it. It the best located hotel in Charlotte in my opinion. This review is very specific to the more upscale rooms I know, the in room meeting area is worth every penny, however I can say that the other rooms offer the very same care and love for cleanliness and wonderful views and comfortable beds.

The hotel event coordinator Kendra was absolutely amazing. She assisted with every detail of the very professional. The meeting spaces were very spacious and our needs were met. The parking attendants lost a few vehicles and the main restaurant food was nothing I would ever eat again.

The hotel is very nice, comfortable room, clean :) It was great to stay there. The location is perfect, many restaurants around it. What I liked it the most was the attention given by the people who work there, so polite to give all information that I needed. Specially Monique who works at the 14th floor - Residence inn lobby! She did a great job helping me with my reservation!

The rooms were clean and nice, however the bed was very hard and uncomfortable. I stayed a week for a work event and did not sleep very well the entire time I was there. It is located in a busy area, which has its pros and cons. The con is at night it is very loud with the train rail, sirens, loud music and commotion from the street. Pros is the convenience of restaurants, bars, coffee shops, stores nearby. Within walking distance to the Panthers Stadium.

Some of the staff is rude. They will overcharge you for any extra min you stay after check out time. Won’t even restock any of the water bottles and the vending machine on floors is mostly empty. Rooms are descent however have waited bathroom layout with slide door. Some of the staff is helpful however most of the staff won’t even care. The lady who answered the call when I called the front desk to extend my room was really really rude. Overall, definitely not worth staying here. Charlotte has a lot of new nice hotels with better customer service.

  • 3/5 Jim C. 1 year ago on Google
Not a very personal experience, employees don’t seem to see you as anything but an object. Too much of a business like atmosphere towards guest. Did not seem to be a congruent place that makes you feel welcomed and would not recommend staying there. Clean room but was $700 a night. Run From it and save your money folks

This hotel was centrally located to everywhere I needed to be downtown and when I've ventured further. Even walking distance for some of my events. The rooms were nice. I really liked Stoke for Break, Lunch and Dinner. Great menu.
