Decent place for brunch. Have to make a reservation, like any place in downtown Chicago! Food and drinks were okay, not fantastic. They do shout out the orders so keep that in mind.

We came here at 10 on a Sunday morning. It seemed busy but the service was fast. There was no wait but as we were eating ~10:30, more and more people came and it seemed like there was a queue. We got a countryside skillet and a good morning burger. The skillet comes with sausage, potato, bell peppers, bacon, eggs, and sausage gravy. We had the English muffin as the side. It was savory and filling. The patty in the burger was tender, juicy, and thick but somewhat greasy. The bacon felt like rubber - it wasn’t crispy nor chewy (sidenote: I wish I get asked how I want my bacons cooked because I like them chewy!). I also got fruits on the side.

Meh. Lacking herbs. Salmon Benny had no onion or tomato, no herbs. The hollandaise sauce was bland. The salmon was great and the eggs was perfectly cooked. Just a little more effort could go a long way. Another at our table ordered a turkey burger which was beyond dry. They were unable to finish. Service was very nice and speedy.

Very creative menu. Drink is kind of small. Main dish is big serving. Cheese grits is creamy and tasty. Smoke salmon scramble needs more seasoning.

Had breakfast there and it was amazing. The food was delicious (especially Bacon) and service was fast. They also had some interesting take on menu items that added to the value. If in Chicago looking for Breakfast this is a must stop location.

I really enjoyed this breakfast joint! My wife had ordered the portabella mushroom salad and it had everything in it but the kitchen sink. She loved it! And, it was big enough to feed a couple of truck drivers. I just had the steak and eggs, the steak was extremely tender and very flavorful. They cooked it the right way! When a steak is cooked the right way, you don't need anything on it at all. The over easy eggs were perfect, the cheesy grits were fantastic! And, the coffee was bold and delicious.

Yolk will change how I give out 5 Star reviews! Solid restaurant top to bottom. Met with a pleasant greeting and seated quickly. Paola, our server, was great and likely the best server I have had anywhere in quite some time. Great food served quickly.

In my opinion, the Corned Beef Hash and the pancakes that came with it had too much carb and too little meat, while the accompanying pancakes were basic. Aside from not being the freshest OJ, the orange juice came in the smallest glass i've ever seen a restaurant serve.

Stopped by for Saturday Brunch on a 3 day visit of Chicago. Overall, a solid pick for a quicker brunch for an on-the-go schedule. There was around 30 parties waiting when we joined the waitlist, but the wait went by quickly and we were seated within 20 mins. The service was also quick and efficient, and the food was on our table without much wait after ordering. My partner and I shared a 5 egg omelet with a side of sausage links, which was about the perfect size order for us. Iron man omelet was slightly bland on its own, and easily crumbled which made it harder to eat, but was made delicious when combined with the two hot sauces at the table. Sausages were not so impressive with a soggy crust, but again made great tasting with the hot sauces. Would go again not for the bestest tasting food, but for a quick, solid, fair priced breakfast spot!

Food was decent, and the portions were very generous for all of the meals, including the kids menu items. Our meals came out quickly, but it wasn't too busy when we went. The person who seated us (owner or manager?) was kind enough to take our order while our server was in the washroom when we first got seated. A big shoutout to the kind gentleman who served us our waters and cleaned up our table after our meal; he was very polite and attentive, and even guided us to exit one of the side doors to make it easier for us to navigate our stroller. Little things like that are what keep customers!

It's been quite a while since we've been to Yolk, and it's good to see they've remained consistent. The service was great. Our server even let us order our coffees with the expectation that we could get something else if we didn't like them. Food was quite tasty, but the pancakes were a little dry. Overall, a good experience.

This place is ok, but needs to focus on quality and cleanliness. The wait staff is nice, but the kitchen could be better. The food was average. The salty smokey bacon was the best part of the meal. The scrambled eggs were a little wet but the worst is we were served a burnt pancake. It was black on one side. The waitress was nice and helpful, but we probably won't be eating here again. Side note: one of the ppl plating food was wearing his mask like a chin diaper, no gloves, wiped his nose with his hand, and proceeded to handle food.

I loved the options to get smaller portions of food, which was delicious. While the waitress did say the macchiato wasn't like a Starbucks one - it tasted delicious- it was espresso size, which I was not expecting. So that may be a good message going forward. Food, service & atmosphere was good. I'd go back!

Daniel was our server, and he was really awesome. He put up with my humor which I really appreciate. The food here is pretty darn good I have to admit. For this particular trip, I went with the avocado toast because of the salmon. To be fair, the capers, really make this dish. I did add some of their sauce at the head on the table just to see what it tasted like. It was pretty good. My compadres had the French toast and the yacht club which you will see in the pictures. This particular place is right by the Navy pier. Which he doesn’t love the Navy pier by Lake Michigan. Pretty awesome place.

Strawberry orange juice was amazing! I also got the ham, eggs & potatoes. I would've liked my potatoes to be a bit more crunchy (rather than soft), but I truly enjoyed the meal. The server was awesome and super helpful with both the menu & the pay system. Great food (flavor full) & great service (quick)!

Long wait time. Had to wait outside in the cold 🥶 waitress was very nice, however, she was not very attentive and it felt like she forgot about our table at times. Coffee came out cold. Breakfast was pretty cold as well. French toast was delicious. Bacon was also delicious. I know this is a personal preference but I cannot stand when my savory foods touch or on the same plate as sweet food. Bad combination in my opinion. Usually pancakes or French toast are on a separate plate. Overall, the food was good. Just cold. Might try it out again when in Chicago.

One the best (if not the best, actually Wildberry Pancakes is the only competition) breakfast/brunch place in Chicago. Awesome food, great customer service and amazing ambience. Absolutly in love with vibe of this place. Its a "must-go" place for my Chicago trips

We found our favorite breakfast spot in chicago. First time here, and we loved the food. The service was amazing. The cappuccino was good. We ordered the Very Berry French Toast, and it was delicious 😋 fresh strawberries 🍓 and blueberries 🫐. The Santa Fe Frittata is an amazing breakfast dish. The pancakes 🥞 were soft and fluffy. I will be coming here for breakfast when we visit Chicago again.

After learning about Yolk on the news, I was eager to give it a try, and I must say, it did not disappoint. During my first visit, I ordered the "the works" omelet, which was truly outstanding. It was so flavorful and delicious that I was blown away. In addition, I also tried their waffles, which were equally fantastic. My dining companion opted for the Oak horchata cold brew, and they raved about how incredible it tasted, describing it as an unparalleled experience. They also enjoyed their oatmeal, which was also quite tasty. The wait times on the weekend can vary however from 10-30 minutes. The prices at Yolk are a bit high, with my omelet costing $20 at the time of my visit, but I would say that every penny was worth it for the quality of the food and service.

Food was great! Had. Breakfast there. Sat us quickly. Enjoyed the custom lattes very much. Overall recommended

The food is decently priced in very yummy and had tons of flavor. The house hot sauce was amazing 👏.. The only downfall was the restrooms absolutely disgusting . Send help asap !! It's just unacceptable , do rounds every hour. I don't know there was no toilet paper and barely any paper towels in any of the stalls. The hand dryers weren't working just too much.

Literally bumping elbows with the tables behind us, seems like they just cram seating in. Tables were small and cluttered, especially once food started coming out. Our breakfast meals came out fairly quickly but my husband ordered a burger and by the time his food came out the rest of us were done eating. Lattes were OK. Kids portions are very generous. The banana nut bread French toast was the best thing on our table.

The cinnamon roll French toast is by far the best. The rest is on par with a standard brunch spot. They are BYOB which was great for our little celebration. Our server kept the coffee filled and was very accommodating to our large group. They even split the bill for us which is not often seen in the city and something I appreciate!

It's worth the walk from our hotel. Huge menu. Large portions. Fast and friendly service. Great with children. Everything was amazing. Prices reasonable. We would definitely return. Loved the fluffy cakes!

We were excited to try Yolk today but found it underwhelming. The corned beef hash & eggs had almost no corned beef in it, and even less seasoning. The dish was bland to say the least. The chicken and waffles had a burnt egg and again the bacon waffles were bland. Add on top the brutally slow service and 3 stars is probably generous. The only saving grace was the delightful outdoor patio.

Got off the plane and had to wait to check in and we found this place. The food was excellent. The people were great. We were seated instantly on a Saturday morning. We had Erin and she was great. Definitely recommend

Great place for brunch. I really like how they have options for smaller portions. The red velvet French toast was great paired with a latte.

This place is wonderful! The hubby and I shared the 5 egg omelette. Delish and fast. Coffee was on the table right away and my chai latte was one of the best I’ve ever had. They even had almond milk.😀 Our server, Joe, took great care of us. He had loads of energy and was so courteous! Can’t wait to visit again.

Came around 130 on a Wednesday so it wasn’t crowded. Daughter liked her turkey burger with nothing on it. My yogurt was good, it was a pretty big portion and it comes with a muffin. My husband had the French toast. He was disappointed it had yogurt in it and scrapped it off. They should probably let people know what is put on top. He was just expecting berries and syrup. Potatoes and fries were ok. Nothing special.

Solid brunch place. Good coffee, big portions, and plenty of options. Food could have a bit more flavor but overall never disappoints. There may be a wait on prime brunch times, and they don’t take reservations, but new QR system works well.

The wait list times on Yelp were WAY off from reality. Yelp said 26 to 46 minute wait, and our table was ready 15 minutes after we added ourselves to the wait list. Service was good, but rushed because they were busy. Food was outstanding. We got the countryside skillet and the yolk all star combo with the cinnamon roll french toast upgrade. The skillet was seasoned perfectly, and probably the best I have ever had. The combo was cooked wonderfully, and the cinnamon roll french toast was amazing but very rich. Would absolutely get both again.

Brunch at Yolk is a pancake lover's dream. Despite long wait times, their app keeps you informed about your place in line. The packed atmosphere speaks volumes about the food's popularity – and rightfully so. If you crave top-notch brunch and heavenly pancakes, this is the spot to be!

New app/QR-code waitlist available to make getting a table a little easier. Wait staff are really friendly and happy to accommodate special requests. Menu is varied with plenty of egg and non-egg breakfast options as well as sandwiches/burgers for lunch. Even with a 30 minute wait to get a table, the litchen was really efficient when we were there, turning out the order in about 10 minutes. Outdoor seating appears to be limited to parties with service animals at this time

  • 5/5 JJ L. 1 year ago on Google
Our breakfast was delicious. The coffee was also very flavorful. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The service was also excellent. You can add your party to the wait-list on Yelp in advance to save time (wait times can exceed 1 hour during peak times). I would comeback, highly recommend!
