Very convenient and great vibe close to the lake front. There is a lot of construction right now but will be extremely popular when finished. Gets crowded from 6p - 8p with flag football leagues in the summer.

There’s a lovely grove of trees I discovered during my last visit here. I did an athletic photo shoot with a friend. The trees, grass, and track made a great background. The track is in good condition too so I like to run here sometimes.

Mandrake Park was dedicated in 2001 and the playground equipment seems to be original to that era (at the very least, it appears on Google Street View in 2008). There are two play structures - a tiny structure for younger children and a much larger structure for older children. The larger structure contains a triple slide - among others - and some relatively unique climbing elements: an offset corkscrew climber and a ring/bubble climber. There are two sets of swings, one toddler and one standard black belt seat, The play area itself is quite large and has a soft rubber surface. The play area is not fully enclosed but it is fenced from the street and there are a number of benches and even a few picnic tables (with umbrellas!) in the area but the playground itself is bright and sunny. There is also a small fieldhouse nearby with bathrooms and a drinking fountain.

The park was packed with people they had some type of a demonstration there due to the fact that there was a state policeman found injured on the Dan Ryan Expressway

Great clean park. Friendly people shared the basketball court with us. Only gripe is there wasn't a shot clock because one homie moved like the sloth from zootopia

Don't attempt to visit after dusk. I was assaulted with a paint ball gun when I was getting a rental bike when a group of three individuals attempted to rob me but I escaped with minor injuries. Wouldn't recommend showing up unarmed or alone.

Mandrake Pk. Has It's Up's/Dwns . When They're R Special Events It's Has Pretty Good Luck In Ppl & Pk. Fun & Safety. Opposed 2 Reg Everyday Pk. Activities, Bcuz It's Open 2 Gang Violence & Negative Activities Especially Around The Basketball Court. The Playground Is In The Middle Of The Picnic Tables On Both Sides, In Which The Ppl There 2 Have They're Guards Up As Well. Bcuz While Having 2 Have Friendly Conversation's Amongst 1 Another Have 2 B Aware Of Passing Gang Activities Sometimes & 2 Watch & Help Keep The Kid's In The Playgrounds Safe.

Track and field to workout. Park benches to relax. My friends led by Marlene Snipes teaches step and work out classes but now that winter is coming we need somewhere to workout inside. If anyone can help us with funding or even the Chicago Park District. That would be a great help. Because big girls got to get their workout to!!!! All smiles [email protected]
