Overall it’s fine. To me a classic example of a strong focus on interior design and overall stylized experience at the expense of the fundamentals: strong service and focus on the customer. Above average: interior, menus, and vibe are super fun and lovely. Food items are tasty and inventive, though on the smaller side. Below average: attention to detail and size of the restaurant for the prices. Given the size, a lot of tables are right by the door and by high foot traffic of inconsiderate people. On a cold April day people will constantly hold the door open blowing cold air in. None of the staff, including the hostess perched at the door, will say or do anything about it—will often do it themselves. Add to that an hour and a half waitlist that only lasted 45 min, it really soured the experience. There shouldn’t be tables right by the door. The hostess should be helping to keep the blustery wind from coming in. The waitlist shouldn’t require walking all the way to the restaurant first, then walking home/around for an inaccurate amount of time. Disco party fries were tasty, and the salty sweet was good. Avocado toast east tasty, though I expected way more avocado. More like a light avocado spread. This little piggy cheddar biscuit sausage was good and exactly as described.

Ate here at least 2 times within my 3-day visit (3 times if you count breakfast to lunch {yes, we stayed that long}). The breakfast is a must. There are a lot of competitive locations in the area, but the Little Goat Diner is a must. The interior is very open and has sort of an old school diner feel. The “little Goat” concept really works for them, and the staff is welcoming. The titles for their dishes are fun, order anything form the menu, you will not be disappointed. Each visit we had we requested the waitress’s recommendations, and everything was on point. Please review some of the attached photos.

Huge Top Chef fan and had to support the first female winner's spot. We talked about the brunch we had here the ENTIRE trip. The flavor combinations are like nothing you have ever thought of. Such good food, love the vibe and we had excellent service. Love a good photo booth moment too. Was too full to try the bakery items but they looked wonderful. Have brunch here, you will not regret it. Start with the crab dip!

This place is adorable and has amazing food. As the name says, it is a diner and was giving me some solid nostalgia of going out to eat with my grandparents. They have a cute skylight in the center, Love me some natural light. We had reservations which I highly recommend. If you’re not from the area make sure you allow extra time to find parking. Now to the food which is why we’re here! I ordered the Paratha Burrito and the old ball in chain got the Spanish Omelet (I’m writing this review late so I might be wrong on that, please see photos). My only complaint is the person who brought out our food set down each plate and didn’t say a word so my boyfriend confidently ate my burrito for most of the meal. I did have a bit of both and they were both great but loved the burrito! I also had a Bloody Mary to help me fight the good fight against my hangover. Service was fast and nice. Would definitely go back to try a burger.

To be honest when we saw the pictures we thought maybe here would have a good food but not a fun atmosphere and cool design, but as soon as we got there we were very happy with our choice and we had a wonderful time! Their brunch menu is very unique and their service is great! We loved everything we ordered and their drinks were great as well.

If you like the combo of savory and sweet in the same dish, this place is for you. We tried the "piggy went to China" and the bull's eye, both were tasty but on the weird side... The flavor combo is definitely a unique one. We ended the meal with the brown butter blueberries cupcake and a crunchy brownie. The cupcake was great but the brownie was a miss, and the toppings fell short. The staff were so fantastic! Interesting place for a bite.

A classmate of mine recommended this place for me—so happy I went. It was so packed inside, we decided to eat outside. It was chilly but still a good time. Waiter was super nice, accommodating, and great with checking in on us. My friend ordered a pozole dish, and I ordered the little piggy. Both were good, and not a wait long time at all. Highly recommending checking this place out.

*new location* Updated classics! The space is interesting. The whole building used to be Southport Lanes, which has been divided into 3 new smaller restaurants. The interior is minimal and charming. Though on a weekday it felt busy, depending on the individual I could see someone feeling overwhelmed on a weekend! The food was good overall. I wouldn’t recommend the burger, for 18, it did not, WOW! But the Chili Crisp Fries were exceptional, super crispy yet fluffy fries with great cheese sauce and Asian Chili oil drizzled! I would go back if it come up again but try a different main dish.

1st time there yesterday. Had the ribeye Sammie. Outstanding!! Classic fries were fantastic! Big enough portion to share. Great service. I will definitely be back. Great neighborhood treasure.

WOW!! Literally the best brunch I’ve ever had. I’ve been to a ton of breakfast/brunch places all over the world and when I say this is the best, I mean it! We went here a few weeks ago and I can’t stop talking about it. I asked our server what he recommended and I did exactly what he said and I was so thrilled with what I got! As you can see in the pictures, the presentation is just as incredible as the taste. The 90’s baby drink was also one of the best brunch cocktails I’ve ever had the pleasure of enjoying. Go here as soon as you can and get everything pictured! I can’t wait to go back and try the rest of their menu. We tried the hash browns as well since we had read so many reviews talking about it and they were great. My fiancée got the Bulls Eye French Toast and it was also out of this world! You can’t go wrong with anything!

The place is well decorated with goats all over! Once seated the staff is prompt in taking your order. The food usually comes out quick and delicious. I personally think it’s slightly over rated for a breakfast/brunch place (compared to bongo room, wild berry, Beatrix etc). There is usually a wait so I recommend calling in advance. The area has many stores so it’s easy to do stuff while you wait for a table. I’ve been here on numerous occasions and would recommend to try out if you’re looking for a new breakfast/brunch place.

First time I went there it was not too busy so we got a table immediately and it wasn’t really packed. Diner is not huge so seating can be limited especially during peak hours. We tried some of the signature items and food was really good. Service was great. It is pricey but the portion size was generous. -This little piggy 5/5 - i liked the cheddar biscuit, it wasn’t too salty. Sunny side egg was perfectly cooked. Pork sausage was moist and flavorful. -Bull’s eye French toast and fried chicken 5/5 - the moment you cut open the French toast, you’ll see a nice over easy egg inside. Fried chicken was not dry and was well seasoned.

My wife was very hyped about this restaurant going I to chicago, and to be honest the whole meal was underwhelming, the biscuit and gravy was alright but overshadowed by the mushroom taste, which I don't normally mi d but for sausage gravy it left some to be desired. Also you are getting 80% biscuit so it just felt heavy and dry. My wife got an Asian style biscuit which was very sweet hut good. The saving grace was the pork belly home fries, which were very good but could have used some more pork belly

I actually ate here two times in less than 3 days. Their brunch/ breakfast is absolutely delicious! Whether you like sweet or salty or even a little bit of both, this place will charm you! Firstly, the decor is pretty and the service is good! Secondly and most importantly, the food is delicious (I tried the apple pancakes 🤤, the paratha burrito and the French toasts). I would definitely come back to try out more items from their menu!

We were in town and stumbled across Little Goat. We had to wait about and hour to get a table but it was well worth the wait. I had the chickpea salad and my daughter had the paratha burrito. Both were excellent. The salad was fresh and crisp and the dressing was fabulous. Our fantastic and funny server Carl(with a C not a K) recommended a Bee’s Knees and it was a perfect compliment to my salad

The first spot I hit up when I landed in Chicago and it didn’t disappoint. The decor is nice, literally little goats all over the place. The staff was friendly and the kimchi burger was absolutely amazing, it’s a must have. No pork fries for now but I was assured they’ll be coming back.

Such cute decor at the very-popular Little Goat Diner. Our waiter was so kind and friendly - all of the service was excellent. I was very impressed by the quality of the food too. My veggie version of the Patty Melt: caramelized onions, pickles, special sauce, american cheese on rye was spot on. The classic fries with Grilleville Spice were outrageously tasty. I had been hoping to try a Cheez-It Sundae but didn’t have room, however a smaller chocolate ice cream cup was really very good. I am glad I booked as it was busy the Thursday lunchtime we visited. Wouldn’t hesitate to return.

We love the diner spirit more so than the original location on Randolph! Creative breakfast and lunch items while still having traditional diner stuff for those less adventurous. Great ingredients top to bottom. Don’t miss the bullseye French toast and friend chicken as one of the signature dishes!

  • 3/5 May M. 2 years ago on Google
We ordered the French toast and the little pig went to China. I think ‘too much going on’ is a good description for the food. French toast it self is a 8/10, the BBQ maple syrup is 9/10, Chicken 7/10, the over easy egg in it is 6/10. I would leave an 8/10 review if it’s only two of them together, but all of them together, which way should I feel? My taste bud got confused. My husband’s biscuit is the same, biscuit itself 9/10, sausage 8/10, egg 8/10, two sauces 6/10. I get the Asian flavor in this dish, it’s creative and it tastes good, but both American flavor and Chinese flavor in a biscuit? Biscuit even didn’t sign up for these much lol. It’s good to see they are working hard on the food, but being simple doesn’t necessarily mean bad, it will show all the ingredients themselves.

Came alone and sat at the bar, great experience! Had the little piggy which was so good ill have to come back for it, and the salty goat cocktail which was interesting but also delicious. Very excited to come back to try some more dishes!

Grabbed a table for two with no wait around 3 pm on a Friday. My sister and I split the spicy crunch burger and the chickpea salad, both of which were massive for lunch so we had lots of leftovers. It’s a much more casual version of the Little Goat of West Town days, the food is as excellent and the vibe is super cute. They have a limited bar menu with some cocktails, wines by the glass, and beers. My sister got the Goat Reviver gin cocktail which was 10/10.

Good food in a stylish diner atmosphere. I was pretty impressed with their chili crunch burger and seasoned fries. The dishes are served a la carte and they have a number of other side options. Will have to try one of their milkshakes next time I am there!

My chili crunch burger and chili crunch fries were really good, but the meal for my wife was just off. She had the little piggy, and it made her sick because of the overwhelming amount of mint (or another herb) in it. I tried it and wasn't really a big fan either. The staff was nice and offered to replace it, but after that she just couldn't eat anything else. Maybe it was an off day for that dish, but overall, I would recommend this place.

First time trying the okonomiyaki and it was excellent! We had mimosas and sat outside. Lovely Chicago neighborhood. All the foods look so good too! We had the corn on the side 🤤

Great experience here! Cute retro modernized diner atmosphere and decor, excellent super friendly service, delicious food with creative twists done well. Came here with my mom and aunt and we really enjoyed it - everything was excellent! Portions were very generous and good to share. Will be back in the future!

Even with a reservation, we still had to wait for our table. Which would have been understandable...had the restaurant not been next to empty! Service was slow to start, very slow. The gal who finally brought water was not the friendliest, so I was pleased to learn she wasn't our server. Everything is a la carte. We started with the Crab Dip, which was okay, but nothing special. The Patty Melt, at $16, was completely underwhelming & greasy. And that was it, nothing else served with it, not even a garnish. Dessert was probably the saving grace; the ice cream cake with Strawberry Quick & Goat Tracks (which our server kept referring to as "Moose Tracks" ) flavors. Glad to have tried this, I really admire Stephanie Izard, but no need to rush back.

Cute place, everyone's dishes looked amazing. I had the bullseye French toast. It was ok... The toast was good, the egg didn't add anything, the chicken was the best part but mostly the syrup was too watery and unbalanced the dish. It made it all kind of soaked and too sweet with the strawberries. The chicken really saved it. I wish I would have ordered their pancakes instead. Nice service, great atmosphere.

So glad we tried the Little Goat Diner! We ordered the Pork Belly Sammie, All American Burger, Classic Fries, and the Cheez-It Sundae. The food is pricey, but delicious and the staff was friendly. The Pork Belly Sammie and Classic Fries were especially tasty. Would definitely recommend this place!

Ate here for breakfast after having Girl & The Goat for dinner the night before and definitely having to try this for breakfast! It did not disappoint, everything was amazing! I got the hazzlenut s’more latte and then we got the bulls eye French toast and the this little piggy went to china with a side of hash browns….best hash browns ever and probably the best breakfast I’ve ever had! Do yourself a favor and try this place out! The service was also exceptional!!

My husband and I are big Stephanie Izard fans so the new Little Goat Diner has been on our list since it opened. We went over Labor Day Weekend so good weather with patio seating available. We arrived just after 10:30am and only waited 30 minutes to be seated (not as bad as what we anticipated). It sounded like groups who were arriving closer to 11 were told a 1 hour wait. We were seated inside at the bar. Service was friendly and fast as you’d expect at a diner. We ordered the This Little Piggy Sandwich, Chili Crunch Cheese Fries and the burger special (it appears like they have daily/weekly specials) and loved all three dishes. They have a walk up window for takeout orders and coffee which I’d be making great use of if I lived in the Southport neighborhood! The menu is really interesting with a lot to try so we’ll be back to try more.

I brought my cousin here from Philippines and it was our first time. The crowd was typical but the food were amazing. It’s something that I feel everyone who visits Chicago should try. Their eggs were done perfectly based on your reference. My husband asked if it can be recooked since he likes it over well and they did. Coffee was nice, nicer than Starbucks, and the staff were attentive and very pleasant which was great since the restaurant was full.

We meant to dine at a different location nearby, but they were closed. We stumbled upon little goat by accident, but do glad we did. The food and service was amazing. Carl, thank you for being so kind and funny! Order the nachos, you won't regret it!

Variety breakfast menu. It’s around the world fusion breakfast that you never try anywhere else(i guess) coffee shop next door is also own by the same owner called Sugar goat. the coffee is also pretty good. It’s pretty busy place, need a reservations to get the table easily. staff are provide a good service and accommodation well. This place is own by Iron chef Stephanie Izaad. Oh menu is brunch all day!!!!!!

Great food and atmosphere. Every item was great but the only thing that gave it 4 stars was the cinnamon roll. While it was good, just not as good as the hype. Definitely worth a try and I will be back. Love both of her restaurants

A diner with Asian inspired breakfast options. The food is superb and service was excellent. We sat outside and traffic was light, providing enough movement to be interesting without excessive noise. Would come back to again!

This place is a must! We really enjoyed everything we ordered. We split an Ooey-Gooey Cinnabon and it was quite good. I ordered the biscuits & gravy and it was great. My friend ordered the paratha burrito and it was stellar. Overall the service was good and the drip coffee was excellent. We would highly recommend this place. It is also one of the only places open early on the weekends. Most of the other brunch places nearby are open a few hours later.

Little Goat never disappoints. We came here for brunch and had excellent food as always. The menu changed and had these great asian inspired brunch items. The outdoor patio is cute and cozy.

This was hands down one of the best breakfast/brunch places I have ever visited. Literally no complaints. Everything was delicious, the waitstaff was fun and friendly, and the sweet shop next door was a sugarholic's dream come true. I will be returning for sure!!

Very very greasy food. Eggs greasy Hash-browns over priced and greasy The toast was even greasy And the pancakes tasted like they were soaked in grease. Orange juice mediocre at best. The only thing good was the fruit. Very disappointed. Had high hopes for this place. Reminded me of Dennys Diner. Haven’t left breakfast without eating it before but did here.

  • 4/5 Clare B. 2 years ago on Google
Service is good and they have great private restrooms, which I appreciate. I had “This Little Piggy Went To China”, which was underwhelming. The chili sauce was way too sweet for my liking and it was soaked into the bread as well. I wish it had a deeper, spicier flavor. The hash browns were ok, i’ve had better for far less. However, the other person I was with had the avocado toast and it was exceptional. A great type of meal to start the day. I would order that if I came again.
