Do not book this place online. They appear different booking sites but then refuse to accept your booking meaning that you’re stuck with them but have to go through the process of cancelling your online reservation leading to extra costs. They even claimed that I mehr have fallen victim of a fraud when they themselves have out it up there and then claim they’re not using it even though they never took it down! It took me three hours to finally get a room! And honestly it’s a run down very basic place, far from being worth the price! There wasn’t even a towel in the room so I had to use the pillow cover and the bed cover was without covers. Worst place I stayed in for such a high price! Also they advertise that they’re using card but then they only accept cash, which is the reason why they advertise the room online but then refuse to accept the the booking! This is borderline fraudulent! Avoid both cut hotels!

Had the whole park to ourselves, great place to spend a few hours, at $10 its decent, guide took us around the animals included in the price. Worth a visit if you're in the area

The motel used to be a must stop in Chinhoyi but became a bit run down. It’s good that Chinhoyi University has done a lot to revamp it though it’s still not to the old standards. They serve really good barbacue lunches during the week with braised chicken, fish and stir-fry.

Arguably one of the best experiences l have had anywhere in the world. I was in awe of all the animals I saw which included a rare white lion, 300 year old tortoise, crocodiles, wolves etc. The guides were very knowledgeable and the facilities clean. Plenty of activities including horse back riding, game drive etc and the park is only 30 mins from Harare.

A bit of wilderness right next to the city. Impressive collection of animals (the obvious being the albino lions- beautiful) . A lot bigger than you would think and taking one's time to go for a game drive or venture to the view points is strongly recommended. Remember to take a car built for slightly fought roads (a small car will manage but with lots of care while driving).

The motel should Improve on water and sanitation. The WiFi connectivity was poor and the constant switching off of power between electricity and generator was disturbing. Otherwise the food and hospitality was excellent

The reception of guests is excellent and there is a remarkable improvement and changes from the time I last visited the Hotel . In the rooms there are now free guest additional items to use ie tooth brush and a mincolgate, insect repellent, shaving machine and lotion etc. The full breakfast was good and their rates for the small rooms are still reasonable.

Great customer service however the rooms need renovation. Not enough hot water in the bathrooms. Poor WiFi connectivity.

I took my mum for a birthday lunch. My mum and I enjoyed the atmosphere. We were the only oneon site and enjoyed a 10/10 service with a young gentleman that took to ourneeds. The down side was that we actually wanted a spar, but they were closed. Maybe they need to review closing the spar service over holiday period. I will definitely revisit as they were very kind to us. The food was amazing. We had t-bone with chips and salad.

Self drive safari where you can drive in Lion enclosures and get close to them. The enclosures are very spacious. Very educational and fascinating

It's a refreshing cost effective get away and they are a venue too! Barbecue and dance surrounded by animals... so surreal and memorable.

  • 4/5 Angelbert M. 3 years ago on Google
Lovely and very educational, especially the guided tour of the enclosures. Encountered lions feeding time, what an experience! The game drive was refreshing, saw quite a few antelopes, giraffes, zebras and guinea fowl!

  • 1/5 Svetlana D. 3 years ago on Google
Very shocked and disappointed. The first enclosure the lions are starving and limping. They look drugged. The other part was even more depressing, the animals are kept in such small enclosures for a big park and they all look sad. I don’t understand how this is happening when it’s so obvious to anyone. Seriously, the owner needs to change what is happening there. Extremely disturbing seeing this and won’t ever go back. Overpriced as well! I will tell anyone who’ll listen to not go there.

There is a wide assortment of animals. Both indigenous and exotic. The white lions and the wolves were interesting to watch as well the Alaskan Malamute Dog. Feeding time which is around 1430 hours on Saturday and Sunday is a sight to marvel. PS - Tommy the Tortoise is still alive and is over 300 years old

You can get very close to the lions as there are numerous vehicle tracks. There is a separate drive with various plains game such as eland, zebra, giraffe, nyala and several others. There is also an absolutely enormous Galapagos tortoise which they say is 300 years old, quite believable due to the size. There is a walking track that passes by various smaller enclosures with their own animals including a rare white lion that is quite impressive. Definitely worth a visit.

It used to be a really nice place for a weekend out in the not so noisy town of Chinhoyi but their maintenance has gone down during the years. The lawns that used to be so green are usually brown and dried up.

An overpriced and badly maintained place. My room had a fan and kettle with the plugs having round pins while the sockets had rectangular holes. No action after complaining. Bathroom flush tank was leaking.

  • 1/5 Willemien R. 3 years ago on Google
We had to ask for all the basic stuff, they served us beer that was far from cold, the pool was dirty and not usable, and the staff walks around as if they are prisoners held there against their will.

Pathetic untrained staff. Extremely poor service. We couldn't get a menu for food. There was no water and generally unclean. We regretted why we turned there in the first place. Doesn't even deserve a star, but I had to rate to give a comment

Was really disappointed. The rooms particularly need to be updated. Bathrooms had no towel rails, TV no remote and some rooms did not have refrigerators those that had them, they were not functional. Food was ok

  • 4/5 Charlotte M. 6 years ago on Google
This was my first time to be here and I enjoyed the traditional lunch served. They had a variety of starches and meats and the prices are affordable. I would recommend them for anyone looking for traditional food but not willing to wait long for the food to be prepared. The "pub lunch" as they call it is served between 12 and 2pm. This looks like a decent place to spend a night for travelers, but I didn't get a chance to check out the rooms.
