My boyfriend and I popped in during Christmas eve to get our wedding finger measured. The shop was empty and there was 3 female staff present. We approached one lady and asked about having our finger measured. She then called over to her colleague to ask if she could do the measuring instead, which her colleague replied "no can so and so do it" in which the third lady looked rather fed up and annoyed to be asked. The third lady said she cannot measure our finger until we know what ring we want. We was happy to look at some rings, but we just wanted a good idea of our size, that's all we wanted. We just felt like we was putting them out and it was all to much effort for them. The shop was empty yet they couldn't manage a ring measurement. There was no polite customer service at all, it was shocking, I have never been treated like that in any store before. We just walked out and went to a small jewellers along the high street who was so kind and helpful and had smiles on their faces. The ladies at Fhinds clearly did not want to be there on Christmas eve or want our custom. Will never return.

So at the tender age of 58 years and 363 days, the rebel in me wanted to finally get my ear pierced (and "No", it's not a mid life crisis thing). So I popped into F Hinds in Orpington, where Mary and her colleague did an excellent job. Mary talked me through the procedure, and the aftercare. I picked out the stud, sat on the stool, and Mary did the piercing; didn't feel a thing. I was even awarded a certificate (which is really for kiddies, but thought why not, "in for a penny" etc.) which I'm quite proud of. To be serious, Mary and her colleague were welcoming, explained everything, and the whole experience was enjoyable. Their customer service was second to none, and I thank them for that. They should be congratulated as such service is rare in these "on-line days".

My 9 yr old daughter had her ears pierced at Hinds and they were amazing. So kind and reassuring and really friendly. I cannot recommend Hinds enough. A good, local business that we should all support.

I was served by a nice lady but unfortunately the shop broke the strap to my watch whilst replacing the battery. They didn't apologise as such (I think they didn't want to take responsibility) and said it was the straps' fault as it was old. I of course had to order a new strap, they didn't charge me postage for it but it didn't feel like a great service overall.

My 8year old daughter had her ears pierced today, at F.Hinds the Jewellers, Orpington. She was a little nervous at first, but the one lady who worked there soon put her at ease. You could see that she had years of experience, very professional, efficient and safe service. My little girl even smiled when she’d had them done! Had ears pierced, painlessly! Lady was very friendly and professional.

Even though I arrived just before closing time, the lady serving me didn't rush me at all whilst I chose earrings. She was very helpful and pleasant. I was also impressed with the choice of stock the store had to offer. I would highly recommend this store.

I knew roughly what I wanted and the member of staff was very helpful getting a few option for me to look at.

Beautifully laid out shop, staff are so friendly and helpful. Went in to buy an ankle bracelet and ended up buying a pair of earrings too. Would definitely recommend. A++++

Was served by a very knowledgeable and efficient lady. I was looking for a small pair of hoop earrings for my daughter and knowing not all the stock was out, she got them for me which meant the right ones I wanted were there and I purchased them. Bought a diamond ring for my fiancee here. The service was pleasant and helpful at first and the price very reasonable, but the rest of the experience was very poor. We eventually had three rings resized which was a complete fiasco. The rings took far longer than we were informed they would take with mistakes were made throughout the process. The communication and customer service skills of the staff are really inadequate. We did receive a small gift card in compensation, but only after complaining to the head office.

The staff were friendly and helpful. I bought my daughter a pair of earrings and she loves them. They had a lovely selection for both children and adults so will definitely be returning.

I have shopped with F.Hinds in the Walnuts Orpington for many years and have seen staff start there and work until retirement there. Each person serves you with friendly politeness and makes sure you are happy with your purchase/repair. I have no hesitation in leaving my treasured items with them. Well done for surviving and thriving when others have failed.

We weren’t aware this service existed in the shop until a friend recommended it. The whole process was very thorough and the lady quickly explained everything and put us at ease. We were impressed with the range of earrings even though there weren’t as many as other shops. We are able to return in 6 weeks to have the piercing checked which I thought was also very thorough. Thanks - we will definitely recommend this shop to friends and family. Great value too!
