One of my most memorable experiences in Bangladesh (there were way too many) was the boat ride on Foy's Lake. It's a beautiful, well-maintained lake pretty much in the middle of Chittagong. But once on it, you'll feel like you are at some hill station, far from the urban crowds. Didn't visit the zoo, but our entry ticket included some rides, so we tried out a couple of them. The rides are mostly for children, so just buying the ticket for entry and the boat ride should do. After the ride on a bigger motorized boat, I also tried out one of the pedal boat options. The service at the boat ghat was prompt, efficient, and helpful. The motorized boats have sort of fixed timings, so they released ours even though there were just three passengers on our ride. There are also trails to walk around the lake, but we didn't use them, so I don't know if they cover the entire periphery. If you are going to Chittagong, you can't miss this place.
