Best Mexican bakery in the area, we have been coming here for 15 years, the pan dulce is always fresh, even at the end of the day. The selection is vast and every type is clearly labeled by name and price. My favorite is the Cono, a flaky pastry filled with vanilla custard. Always delicious. The elephant ears are super crispy and full of flavor. They have groumet coffee to rival Starbucks, mocha Mexican coffee is fantastic. Customer service is always great, prices can be a little higher than other places, but worth it.

If zero stars was an option that is what I would rate. My friend and I asked for a box instead of the dirty unsanitary trays they offer. As we had witnessed one of the employees briefly wiping down trays and tongs with a dirty old dish rag. The young cashier hesitantly gave us one and looked so annoyed. We were planning on buying a lot so we knew we would need a box and it would be easier and much more sanitary to do it that way. My friend and I continued looking at everything excitedly to try some new pan dulce. Then an older co-worker came out and just glared at us. She was about to say something to my friend’s 3 year old who was holding the case door open for me and I interjected before she could. I let him know to close it for me as I sensed she was going to say it rudely. From then on both employees just stared at us with an annoying aura. So we chose the last few things. I paid for mine and the girl didn’t say anything to me. Not a thank you or anything. My friend was now done and the older lady rang her up not saying a word. My friend asked her for a lemon tart that was in a case they could only grab. She never responded to her or acknowledged her. We weren’t even sure if she heard us? Then she just walks off puts it in her box and tells her the total. Flies were flying around outside of the pastry cases as well as a couple inside. Very rude, unwelcoming atmosphere. I will not be returning. They remodeled the store but their customer service needs a remodel.

If you like Mexican pan dulce it’s ok. The service is pretty bad too. Every time I go they seem to have an attitude idk why. Also, they only let two people in at the same time but since the rest have to wait outside it takes a little bit too long to get in and out. If you are looking for donuts or cakes this is not it. They just don’t taste that good. The Mexican pan dulce is pretty basic but honestly the only reason I keep coming back it’s because it’s so close to my house. Wouldn’t go out of my way to come here.

Stay away from this bakery. The service is just bad plain and simple. The girls working there are miserable, they won’t even acknowledge you. A simple “we are busy, we will be right with you” goes long ways. The product itself is not extraordinary for the customer service to be this bad, sometimes we can put up with bad customer cause the product is out of this world but not here. The lady in front of me got smashed bread and ask the lady to replace it. The customer was even afraid to ask. Then me and my girl got totally ignored and skipped cause I ask if there was a system I need to follow to get service. The manager confronted me as well and said we have been in business for a long time your opinion don’t matter. I will make the drive to panchitas bakery next time or even north gate. The subpar bread is not even worth it.

ZERO stars should be an option. Horrible experience as first time customer. I decided to go even with the recent mixed reviews. I should have stayed away. Store looks nice but the workers are not nice at all. Very rude no customer service skills! I don’t understand how some people are saying they are friendly because that is simply not true. It feels like they don’t even want to provide you service if you don’t know what you want right away. How can one tell them what cake they want if the display case for full size cakes does NOT have any information about the cake flavors on it? Do not go here despite the seemingly good reviews! I speak Spanish and was treated very rudely now imagine someone who doesn’t speak Spanish. Don’t be fooled by the good reviews. This business does not care how they treat customers.

We found this bakery on google after looking at reviews. We just moved to San Diego and had no idea where to order a cake. We walked in and asked for a gender reveal cake to be made and picked up by the next day. I assumed the answer would be no but they followed through and had it done! We showed them photos and explained what we wanted and they did it perfectly. I am so pleased and so happy! Would definitely recommend. It’s also so clean inside and the customer service was amazing.

The absolute best Mexican Bakery I've come across to date! I moved out of Chula vista & I still travel 30 miles to taste their delicious treats! If you put a bad review at this location, I can't trust your reviews. Hands down, the best Mexican Bakery in town.

I will never go back to this place, the bread ( pan ) is ok but the price they charge now, is not worth it...besides they make you wait outside, only 2 customer in at a time ( with no mask ). About the price...I think they are gouging. $16,00 for a rosca.

Incredible that you elevate the price of bread that much!! We went to buy pan de muerto and it was $4 for a small piece or $16 for the big piece. It’s not a lot but it just doesn’t feel right. :(

Let me start out that the bread here is delicious! But is the customer service worth it? Nope! The only friendly service comes from the young lady...other than that the male customer service is bad. I came here since I was recommended, but just know that if it's your first time coming here just come by yourself and no others. Because you will get kicked out by one of the bakers. Even if you take turns in your party to come in.

This is a great Mexican bakery, which I discovered simply by driving down E Street. I picked up a couple of Mexican Croissants, also known as cuernitos, and a "nuez" pan dulce. The butter croissants were $1.60 each, and so was the nuez. Both breads were terrific. I had both croissants at room temperature, and their texture and flavors were very good. The nuez I heated in my convection oven, and it was outstanding. It tasted great. I really liked the variety of Mexican sweet breads this bakery offers. They also offer hot savory empanadas. The place was very clean when I visited, and the ladies at the counter were super sweet. I will be back for sure!

Gave it another try after remodeling. Too sweet and too greasy for my taste. Apple Tree Market on Broadway is still my #1 go to.

My family has been purchasing pan dulce from here for decades. They have excellent cakes too. We especially love the tres leches and the napolitano. No empalagan (not overly sweet). Oh! And the champurrado and the tuna empanadas are delicious. I love seeing this small business thrive.

I've had their pan dulce and cakes, all of it is very good. The staff is as sweet as their baked goods. Lots of variety. They follow covid protocols well.

My friend and I tried a few different sweets, everything was so good and fresh. You can tell they put a lot of care into the breads and pastries. The place is very clean, smells amazing inside, and the people working were friendly and efficient.

I've been coming to this bakery for a few years now. We love the bread and their torta bread (teleras). We've never had issues with the bread getting moldy. Thursday evening I stopped by after work to get a bag of teleras. I took them out today (Saturday) to make tortas and the bread was covered in mold. I asked my husband to go back to the bakery and ask them if they would replace it. If not, I told him just to get another bag. When he went to ask, an older lady in the back of the store came out to talk to him. She rudely said she didn't know if we had left the bread out and it molded. She is wanted to know why we didn't return it right away. My husband explained we didn't know it had molded until today when we were going to eat it. She continued her rude behavior saying they wouldn't replace the bread. She could have apologized and said she couldn't replace it. Instead she raised her voice and blamed us for the mold. Like I said I've been coming to that bakery for years now and the bread has never gotten moldy in less than 48 hours. She rudely told my husband to take another bag of bread and left to the back. I am very annoyed with this type of service. If you are willing to lose a customer over a $3 bag of bread, you have issues. She didn't have to be rude. This is the reason why small businesses lose loyal customers. I don't need someone raising their voice and blaming me for the quality of their products.

Insanely high prices, recommend check prices against other bakeries before you consider this bakery. If other bakeries sell way below this one, could it really be the cost of ingredients?

I ordered my wedding cake with La Concha. It was delicious and they made it just like the picture that I showed them. Make sure you choose cheese cake as your middle filling! Our cake was beautiful and a success with our guests.

One of the best bakeries in San Diego. The service here is extremely friendly and the cakes are amazing. They just finished the new remodel and the place looks great with more variety and the taste of the food is great

Ordered a tres leches cake for someone's birthday. I haven't had a good cake like that in a good while. I loved it and the person who I purchased it for loved it as well. I definitely recommend this place.

Updated establishment with fresh look and self-service. Neighborhood favorite for pan dulce. Parking in front and street parking. They offer coffee and beverages. Meat empanadas. Special occasion cakes.

Gone there & still there. Price convey the economy. I don't complain complain because "EVERYTHING SEEMS 2 HAVE GON UP" There's a staffing short all over ther US. I've gone 2 establishments that have 1 or 2 workers. Get used to itpeople

This place has been remodeled recently, it lost its mom and pop feel to it. It does look nice btw. Bread was tasty, a bit expensive for some concha’s, cuernitos and some chocolate muffins. I spend just under $18.

Great and popular local bakery in Chula Vista! There is a variety of freshly made items both sweet and savory, so there is something for everyone. The empanadas, fruit filling pastries and cookies are so delicious! The prices and quality are unbeatable. The service is fast. We saw locals marching in to grab fresh breads, and goodies in dozens. Great espresso ! I highly recommend stopping by this bakery if you are visiting SD

DONT BUY CARROT CAKE! Nice and clean place, but they claim to specialize in Mexican pastry and the carrot cake doesn't even have cream cheese cover, it was dry and plain, no carrot flavor or pecans found. I wished I had gotten to Walmart, that's how disappointed I was by this cake.

I absolutely LOVE this bakery. Very clean, employees are very helpful and the cakes are delicious! Also very affordable. Cake in the picture is their Tres Leches cake.

Had better than that and this place is way too expensive for their Mexican bread. Not worth it. Plus the customer service is horrible. Been there twice because I did try to like it, but no.The workers there, non of them were the same the second time I went there and they’re rude!!!!
