Visited here Thursday (21/07/2022) for a quick lunch. I ordered the Chicken Caesar Wrap which was great.. But my partner ordered a steak rare and he was shocked for value $28 something for a small portion and a piece of meat that seemed to be cooked in a pot of water. It was rough and grisly and not how he ordered it. We come straight to the reviews which we should have done first as everyone else seems to think the same with how the “steak” is cooked. If we didn’t have to pick up our eldest son from school as we dined in late we would have asked for a refund.

Hogs Breath has never disappointed. The staff are spot on, friendly and efficient. The food is well portioned and always tasty. Good family restaurant.

Great friendly service by the lovely girls on arrival and everyone said hello and interacted with our 15 month old - which he absolutely loved. Food was really good and overall great family atmosphere. From appetisers to our main meal, all fresh and well cooked.

Sad. This restaurant offers poor quality food and an average service. The team seem more interested in closing up at night then offering any kind of decent service. We were literally the only people in the whole venue on a Sunday evening at 8pm, ready to order dessert, our main plates were cleared and we were ignored for a good 20 minutes before having to ask someone else for some menus. Given that this marina has a great range of restaurants, just avoid. We’ve not had a good night here in years. Waste of time and money.

We visited hogs breath cleveland this Sunday 23rd August. All cafes at the bay were super busy. Hogs breath was the least busy with plenty of free tables. They advertise $9.90 meals 7 days per week but we were told they could not honor this menu because of corona virus??? I don’t see how a virus can affect a menu. It’s clearly greed that cannot honor the menu. We walked out and will not be returning. False advertising.

I have been to plenty of Hogs breath cafes and they are hit and miss. This one is a massive HIT!!! The steak was the best steak I have eaten in honestly as long as I can remember. Fantastic works guys, keep it up!

Good lunch celebrating a birthday with family at Hoggies in Cleveland. Great hogspitality from Lee and the team. Staff so friendly and helpful. We enjoyed being back after the COVID restrictions have been eased. Definitely recommend to anyone wanting a lazy lunch with fantastic views thrown in!

Ordered ahead by ten minutes, ready when promised. Cutlery supplied as well and headed to Kangaroo Point to eat it. Packed well and was still warm on arrival.

We eat at Hogs Breath often. Great place to eat. 9/10 everything is great. Had issues a few times, but things usually get resolved easily and efficiently. Would highly recommend.

Steak meals are always great at Hogs, this time 200grm sirloin steak was sightly over, i always order my steak med/well, not as per the box and was a little on the fatty side with not much meat to eat. Thankfully the mash and lettuce with dressing were good. The other 2 steaks were pretty awesome, couldn't take a photo as they were stuck into the meal.

2 Stars - 1 for the service, staff were happy & friendly, but must have known something wasn't right with our food as they didn't stop by after delivering our meals to see if we were happy or not! I understand it's a commercialised 'steak house', but to have a steak placed in front of you that looks like it's been boiled in a pot of water, then slapped on the grill so the marks are barely showing & served up with soggy fries because it hasn't been rested, that really isn't good enough. Maybe they were having a bad day in the kitchen? Sorry guys but we won't be back to find out (didn't think to take a photo, but should of though so you could see what I'm talking about - next time!). The second star was for the position - sitting outside with a view of the boats in the harbour & the sun glistening on the water, we found really pleasant & relaxing.

Perfect location coupled with great service making it an enjoyable evening. Steak for the man of the table - fish and chips for me and an amazing burger for Mr 12. Staff were friendly, polite and efficient. Drinks were served in a timely manner.

It is our favorite place to enjoy ourselves. It's beautiful there on the water, the food and drinks are always great and so is the service. Love Hoggies at Cleveland

The steak was a bit smelly, so my friend didn't even finish half of it. The wine was good until we found there was a fly in it. See pictures.

It's interesting when you visit these mainstream establishments (if interesting is the right word to use). There is a good choice of meals and they are usually done quite well. So the food is pretty good (not GREAT, but definitely good). What I do find interesting is the staff. Now, I know these mainstream establishments have usually got good business plans and generally know how to make ends meet. Our table staff were pleasant enough, but just lacked that little bit of maturity and professionalism. I mean, the average age was about 18 I reckon. I wasn't expecting the world, I just didn't want our drinks just dropped on our table so they splashed (explains the often sticky tables though) and the meals with fingerprints all over the plates (there are jerms and covid is a real thing) and just dropped on the edge of the table so you had to reach and grab them yourself (probably couldn't slide them as the table was too sticky anyway). Like I said, just lacked a little professionalism. I am glad we had the waitstaff we did have though. There was one you fella that looked lost and kept running his hands through his hair and scratching his nuts, that if he had have dropped out plates on the table with fingerprints all over them, I would have asked for new meals.(coulda had more than covid on those ones) lol Anyhooooo.... I rant. Meals were good, environment was good, service was good (ish)... And value is what you'd expect.. Was good.... And I guess, that is all you can expect from these bigger restaurants. Pork out plate wasn't bad. Have included a pic. Lots of sauce (maybe a little too much) and good portion. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Good, convenient... But not great.

Our little group had a lovely evening, the meals were great and the service was good. It did get very noisy as the evening went on. My cocktails were delicious.

Not much options nearby on weekdays late night. Most of the restaurants were closed on weekdays by 7:30pm. Hog’s is one of the few restaurants that open at that time. Not much people in the restaurant at that time, seat was comfortable and the ambience were quiet. Ordered mushroom steak well-done with mushroom sauce. The portion was big enough. The steak was well-done but a bit over burnt on the surface, it was crispy but a bit bitter. Potato mash was average. It would be great if more sauce can be provided as the veggies and potato mash was bland which needs to rely on the sauce for flavours.

Rotating craft beer taps. Occasional free merch. Good cans in the fridge. Daily happy hour. Water views. Dog friendly out the front. Very, very little to dislike, and my go to with, or without, dog for a beer or two when at the Marina. 'only' 4* as never had any food.

  • 5/5 Ryan K. 5 months ago on Google
The food came with a good gap to eat the appetiser then the main. And the service was excellent, even with new servers learning. I would recommend the 18 hour prime rib steak with Hickory smoked sauce.

One of my favourite Hogs Breath. This is their head office. Fantastic views during the day of the marina and its a large space so comfortable at night. They went through a period of sub standard food and service a while ago but seem to have lifted their game.

We had not been to Hoggy's for while. We were greeted at the door by a sign telling us the Hoggys Diner program had been suspended due to Covid. Fair enough. We got the menu and noted that all the prices had gone up noticeably. OK. Then got some water for the table. It came straight out of the tap, it would seem; Room Temp and tasted of Chlorine. Hmmm. We both ordered dishes we were familiar with. And we were both pretty disappointed. Neither was a shadow of their former selves. I had the Cheese Burger (in Paradise). A very average bun with a smallish tasteless patty, a slice of tomato, a bit of lettuce, the remnants of some cheese and sauce, as best as I could tell. I have been eating this burger since the Boss Hog Burger days. It has always been relatively expensive, but worth it till now. This was one of the most ordinary burgers I have had in a long time. Very disappointed. The Wife had the Chicken Wrap. Again well below par. Only had chicken in one end, a bit dry and mostly salad. The Curly fries were OK. The Service was OK, but the food greatly disappointed.

I could not be more than unhappy with the service this evening. The waitresses were rude and as a sober driver I was refused a drink. When I asked for the manager, he had no customer service skills and wasn’t able to communicate with me as to the reasons why I was not able to order a single drink. As a long term customer of Hogs Breath Cleveland I can see why the restaurant was half full tonight and the reviews represent the way they operate now. I will not be back and neither will our group of 10 Cleveland locals.

Waited 40mins just to order...while team member after team member ignored us. Ok I know it's NYE but the 2 groups who were seated after us were already eating before we had even ordered. Came here to enjoy the 18hr slow cooked steak, pity they ran out. About sums up 2020!

  • 1/5 Murdo G. 3 years ago on Google
No prime ribs their main calling. Steaks cooked to order were full of gristle to the point of half the steak being inedible. Chicken was so overcooked you could use it as leather. The salt and pepper calamari were over cooked, the batter was attached in stringy globules. The steaks are exactly the same if you order them from uber eats, menu log etc, have done so a few times same result horrible steak that should be put in the bin not paid $40 odd dollars for. In essence the level of care coming from the kitchen in non-existent, probably runs hand in hand with a very young staffing group. The business is only surving on brand name, the bar and location. Don't waste your money on the food.

Horrible service not even given cutlery or offered drinks. Ribs came out like cardboard some of the meals were cold. Wrong meals we were charged for extra meals we didn't order and took over an hour to get our food not to mention like 15 mins line up to pay for our terrible food.

The first thing I think when I hear Hogs Breath, is pork. I was very upset to find it is no longer on the menu Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. When all you're craving is a good pork chop on a Saturday afternoon and then get told it's 'not available over the weekend' - no other explanation - well, nothing else on the menu can compare. People still want pork over the weekend, it's not just a Mon - Thurs meal.

Staff were friendly but food very disappointing. I had the barr and prawns. Barra wasn't fresh and it was overcooked.

The staff are amazing. So friendly and so accommodating. We had the steak sandwich special and battered mushrooms. The mushrooms were lovely. The steak was so tender, you'd swear it was slow-cooked. A bit too much sauce that was too sweet, but still good. 🙂

I ordered a buffalo wings and it was disappointing. The wings was full of spicy sauce so i just had 2 and couldn't continue finishing the rest of them. You can easily tell the wings have no flavor at all. This restaurant used to be really good but the taste is not surprising me anymore. The martini was alright.
