Despite being very careful when I chose the rooms with breakfast and parking included, I have been charged separately for breakfast. The hotel clerk blamed Booking. Com for this. Lack of bulbs in part of the lighting system. Old furniture, suitable for the 80's. Staff never greeted us and barely answered to our greet. Bartender got really angry when I drawn his attention to the fact my cup wasn't clean. Poor breakfast with cheap products. Tv set way too small. Not so in the City Centre as suggested by booking.com.

My husband and I travel the world and this is one of the worse experiences we’ve had. I am not one to give reviews but this service was so bad that I felt compelled to leave one The concierge was unprofessional,super rude, we come as guest late night from a long flight and he welcomed us like we was doing us a favor. Barely answered questions we asked, bad experience, labeled as good hotel, but best hotels are known for their great service THAT is what makes the difference! Also good luck trying to get any room service or any service past business hours, concierge said they don’t do anything past business hours, even something as simple as giving you a cup of hot water for tea. Book else where.

Rooms are clean and modern. Room temperature 's calibration was quite a challenge :)) You have to call the Reception. First 2 days water was a little bit cold but in the third day we had hot water. Towels were new and very clean. The view was fantastic. Restaurant is old fashion. Food was ok-ish. Breakfast nothing fancy. Ok- ish. Stuff was very calm and warm :) I would say not a 4* hotel but location is the best .

On the outside is not looking like a 4* but once you pass the door everything changes. The place looks great starting from the reception until the rooms. The room was very clean, I even checked above furniture and were no dust. The furniture is a bit old but very nice. The bed is also comfortable. You can’t change the temperature at the air conditioning, you have to ask at the reception. For this I gave only 4* at the rooms. We had breakfast included and food was very good. Not hundreds of dishes to choose from but neither the guests were that many. If I had to stay a week is not enough to eat only those everyday. The maids were very nice. For only 2 nights we didn’t need them to clean but they gave us extra shower gel and toilet paper. I dearly reccomend.

Building is not new, interior looks let's say not old... Some things will show, that reconstruction could be done with far more precision... Breakfast is not really bad, it is tasty, it is fresh and it is enough types of food to select. Personel is nice, can not say something negative. It is a question if I can not get more for less money, especially here in Romania, but let's say, at least parking is for free what is not common... I will have no problem to return.

I have only tried food here, and I liked it very much.

The restaurant is underwhelming. I ordered tartar and I got frozen meat chopped in a blender. The ice crystals were still in it. I asked for fries and they can me oily and soggy with cheese grated on top of them. I had to take it away. Zero consideration for food allergies.

Very nice and clean. Situated on the river with just 10 minutes walk to the restaurant and shopping area. Service is good, and breakfast is luxurious.

Big hotel, close to the Central Park and city center. Parking available for a fee. Needs to be renovated.

Old style but friendly/clean. The only issue is the noise from planes and trams.

The restaurant and the bar are closing at 10 pm, after this time you can't ask for anything ...... this is not what you expect from a 4 stars hotel

This hotel is popular among conventions and events, mostly due to location and parking and enough big spacious rooms. Apart from that, the rooms were decent, clean, with a bit of old communistic vibe but with slippers and bathrobe and amenities. The shampoo and shower are basic and lack any intense smell. Overall, very clean nice rooms. The location is great, walking distance to main center, Central Park and close to public transportation. Close to restaurants but not close to supermarkets. The only market in the area is a gas station across the road otherwise you need to take a taxi for anything from a supermarket. And the part I enjoyed less was the customer service from reception. They felt bothered and totally unhappy to be approached with any question or help. Since first second it felt a huge effort to check in, to complete the formalities, to get any information. A smile and a bit of effort to make the guests welcomed goes a long way. I understand young personal and so on but again, it’s a 4 star hotel.

Old style hotel in Cluj next to a beautiful park. Built during the dictatorship, it tries to stay relevant. The rooms are well appointed and clean. The bathroom is modern. Service in the restaurant could be improved -but this is common in Romania.

Old building, outdated rooms, bathroom needs urgent renovation, unfriendly staff at front office, same breakfast every single day, found my car s windscreen broken after one night spent there...no one knows what happened. Near city center, close to everything, nice and helpful waiters at breakfast. Overall, i would not recommend.

Good location and staff was ok, however the rooms need urgent improvement. We got an apartment and we saw multiple issues: really noisy air heater, some bugs staying in the air heater, stained toilet seat (probably from overuse), the tv remote control was disgustingly dirty and the bed was big enough however the blanket was not wide enough for 2 people. Also, we did not really undestand why there was no tv in the living room. Overall would not recomend and we will not be staying there again.

The hotel is nice, but the reason I'm writing this review is because of it'a breakfast, I swear if I see another breakfast with jumari, last time I'm staying here. Most hotels try to make it diverse, not Napoca, i've stayed here 5 times, not a single time did they have a proper breakfast with some healthy options, not everyone wants to eat jumari with onion and slana at 8 am.

I really like this hotel. It may be not the fanciest one, but I have been here 4 times now, and I was never disappointed. The room is comfortable, the beds are good, and the breakfast is more than okay. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Outside, there is a terrace where you can have a drink. The hotel is on walking distance from the BT Arena and Cluj Arena (15 minutes through a park) and from the old town (15-20 minutes). Opposite the hotel is a gas station with a 24/7 shop, where you can find snacks and drinks. I will definitely come back!

Enchanting view, wonderful room, exellent food for dinner, and various and well organized breakfast, very kind reception desk. Near the centre and all the main buildings in Cluj Napoca. Great!

It's a great hotel. I recommend it. I didn't spend the night there but just entrying and the environment was good. Nice place to stay for a vacation. Good thing ms worth petronise.

For the amount of stars I expected something else. The hotel rooms are pretty old and not really clean (the carpet). At least desinfected glasses where offered. We stayed there with our little dog and were very disappointed when we ask for two bowls. Apparently it was not possible to organize two bowls for us. I ended up giving our pup his food from a bowl from the bathroom and water from a drinking glass. I won’t come again.

Dissapointed is the best word.For a 4*hotel is really bad.Breakfast was poor,stale bread,cheap bad cereal and cheap juice.At least the coffee was ok. We booked a double room with a big bed and balcony received two twin beds joined.As we travel with a toddler who sleeps in our bed it was uncomfortable.Staff was friendly and willing to help but apparently all the rooms were occupied,even tough we specifically asked for this at booking and they said it is ok. Room was really small,or maybe too crowded.The balcony seems to have been forgotten by the decorators,there is no seating,floor is concrete worn out by time. Bathroom,bedding and towels were clean,but the chairs in the room were dirty and gross.Never coming back and do not reccommend.

Breckfast its a disaster rest meal are ok, in the room its a problem whit cold box and to toalet door, so one star its more enough

Great location, 10-15min lazy walk to centre of the city, tasty and large selection on breakfast (we tried lunch too and was very tasty). Great and very relaxing mattresses. All together and price wise, an excellent option if you visit cluj-napoca

A good stay at the Grand Hotel Napoca. Rooms were of a reasonable size, with everything we needed, including an expansive view over the city. One negative point regarding the badly stained headboard, which I only noticed the next morning when I moved the pillow. It needs cleaning thoroughly as it looks as though someone may have vomited on it. If I had noticed this when I first saw the room I would have asked for a room change. The corridors are very badly lit, it's like walking into a very dim tunnel. The rest of the hotel is brightly illuminated, so no complaints there. Food was good and plentiful, waiting staff very kind, accommodating and courteous. I would recommend if in this area again.

Grand Hotel Napoca is located in Cluj city , Romania. Although it was just one night there but it was very nice. The hotel is clean and safe. Breakfast was delicious and good variety and staff were nice.

Amzing locaction, close to city center, free parking, AC, very comfortable beds, amzing view of the city at night and sunrise.

It's a good, spacious hotel. I had no problems staying there. It's located in pleasant surroundings (the city of Cluj is amazing itself!), you just have to walk across the park to reach the city centre (approx.15 min walk). Why not 5 stars then? I just don't understand the hotel's rating. Why it got 4 stars? It's a large, decent hotel but definitely not a luxurious one. Maybe I'm spoilt, because Poland is famous for delicious hotel breakfast, but the one in Grand Hotel Napoca was not so amazing. Just ok, but for example no fresh juice (just squeeze) and cold buns (not completely) defrozen.
