Room, while generally clean, was outdated! There was no fridge - found an empty cupboard instead! There was no bar (but was mentioned in the description, as well as the fridge!) - I ran out of water at night and the tap water was hard to drink due to a pronounced chlorine taste! TV was a pain-many programs didn't work-not that was anything of interest to watch! Shower was outdated, with historical curtains🤕 and the sink tap was wobbly! Breakfast was great, service pleasant, the gentleman in Reception the next morning was very kind and helpful! Location of the hotel truly central! Overall not bad but rooms need some love!

Rating two star to reflect the true quality of this hotel—dishonest to call themselves 3*, frankly. The venue is lovely and the location perfect for the centre of town and university, but the hotel is not maintained to its historical standard. The rooms are minimalist, barely furnished, and almost clean, the staff are dismissive, and the advertised free Wi-Fi is almost entirely fictitious. I would recommend paying slightly more elsewhere for a decent stay. Editing to report even worse service by the end of the stay (sadly): hotel breakfast was terrible—stale bread, lukewarm tea and coffee, no fresh food. No shower curtain in the bathroom, and cleaners refuse to clean the floor. Hot water went off for an entire day—front desk staff denied there was a problem (as they did with the Wifi, which *never* worked). All in all, the crappy service was even more disappointing than the dismal facilities. One star. Would not visit again.

This hotel is seriously overvalued with stars (4.2 at this moment). I do not know why. Maybe they pay for good reviews.. See the review @Loredana Cirstea. I was with her. In addition of what my friend said: the view in our room was towards another dilapidated building. And we could hear the neighbors in the other rooms which was disturbing to our programming tasks and sleeping schedule.

Central-ish position. Quite impersonal. 70s styling. Needs a refurb. On Plus side, rooms have aircon. Breakfast not to Full English Standard, but if you can wait then plenty of options after 8 or 10am as bars and cafes open.

I really enjoyed this hotel. It is an older hotel with fantastic architecture. I thought the taxi took me to the wrong place as it looks much more expensive than the nightly rate. The hotel staff were all very accommodating and welcoming, all praise and no complaints at all. Get the breakfast, it’s worth it! I must mention the coffee shop that’s adjacent to the lobby, Averd Dream! Not only is the coffee outstanding, the owner and staff are as well! Perfect place, inside or out, to have a coffee and a sandwich while using their wifi or just people watching. Oh, and they have large coffees to go! Great coffee shop that donates the profits to local charities. Swing by and grab a cup!

A nice hotel in the center of Cluj. The central area of the hotel is cramped, so you will probably have problems with parking. Small balconies, but for the central area it is ok. Decent breakfast, in an elegant atmosphere. Cleanliness, furniture a little out of date, but not for me. it bothered me. Helpful and nice staff.

Super cozy and very big room with a beautiful view. Unfortunately the fridge was not working properly Good that the checkout could be done at any time, and that the receptionist called the taxi for the airport for us in the night

Good hotel right in city center, buss station is close by 200m by walk. The staff are very kind all time. The breakfast was best of the best to enjoy România style breakfast. 😍 For sure dinner also is a good, I've not try it. Definitely will book here again in the summer. The room is equipped with a refrigerator. Great room view to the church.

The hotel is lovely and location is great, however the staff (reception and restaurant) are very rude and disrespectful. They talk and treat customers sarcasticly and they made us feel unwelcomed. I went for lunch on Tuesday (17/05) and the waiter was extremely sarcastic with us and the whole time he made fun of the fact we asked for the starters and mains to come at the same time ( due to the fact we were in a rush to catch our flight). He also brought us the food cold, as a bonus along with his disgrateful customer service. Definitely won’t return there and not recommending going there for a meal. Such a shame the staff attitude is destroying such a lovely location.

I and my friend booked 2 nights at Victoria Hotel, room 201, March 3->5 2017. A buffet for breakfast was included in the price. We announced prior to our visit that we are vegetarian. 1 star because staff attitude, atmosphere, WiFi issues trump all other good things + the current rating is bigger than what it deserves. PROS: 1. The hotel and restaurant is very clean. 2. We had enough towels, blankets etc. - the basics were covered 3. The hotel receptionist was great and helpful CONS: 1. They offer WiFi (that is why we chose the hotel), but the speed is not great overall and frequently goes to 0 mbps; not ok if you are planning to actually do some online work or watch a clip. Romania has great internet speed overall, as a country. As a hotel in the middle of Cluj, this is unacceptable. 2. Nobody wanted feedback; nobody asked if we like the conditions and are feeling ok. This is the first rule of the hospitality industry. 3. Room 201 has a faulty WC. When you flush without closing the lid, the water shoots out on your feet. 4. When you first enter the buffet room, you feel like an intruder. The staff asks you for your room number and writes it down. She also seemed to guard the fried eggs and omelettes. Never saw this in other hotels or even hostels with buffets. 5. Because the Easter Fast had begun a couple of days earlier, the only things that we could eat from the buffet were bananas, oranges, apples, tomatoes, cucumbers, a little bowl of a traditional vegetable spread (1 bowl for all of the customers), a little bit of soy spread, bread (2 types) + coffee, tea, non-natural orange juice. - We told the restaurant staff ( a female) that they should have more Fast-friendly products (Romanians pride themselves with being Orthodox Christians). - The next day, there were less items from which to choose: bananas were gone, the multi-cereal bread was also gone. Even the vegetable soy spread was missing - My friend asked the staff (a male) for some bananas for me. The staff said that he will bring some. We never saw him again during the meal. - When we wanted to leave, I saw the staff and asked him where are the bananas. He said they don’t have any. I asked for his name and position, because I wanted to give some feedback to the hotel. He just said that he is a waiter. I asked were can I give some feedback about this experience - he said that they don’t receive feedback anywhere. - The other female waiter joined the discussion also. They became more agreeable only after I mentioned that we were going to leave feedback on the internet and that we have travelled in other places (USA, Europe), so offered them service comparisons. At this point he even told us that we should have asked for a salad or something and they could have brought us - after they couldn’t even deliver some bananas. Seemingly, not wearing formal attire and not looking like you have money is an excuse for the staff of this hotel to offer poor services.

Good location. Breakfast staff was polite. The receptionist at checkin was not very polite. The room had old furniture, old TV, the bathtub was leaking and there was water all over the bathroom floor and on the carpet in front of the room.

A communist experience in the good sense. Not the cleanest, not the best customer service, but worth it for the cheap price and location.

A quiet place this days! Clean, good beds, good breakfast! But at the first floor, when it rain, you can hear, badly, the drops on the tin edge of the window, outside!
