First of all, I really dislike leaving bad reviews. If my experience is not that great, most of the time I will not leave any reviews at all. It takes a really bad experience for me to leave a negative review. Unfortunately in this instance, this is one such experience. I am sorely disappointed in this restaurant. Simply because pre-covid, I had dinner here and it was simply one of the best meals I have ever had. The service back then was stellar and attentive. That is why this time round when I came back to Colmar, I was so excited to dine here again. I specifically booked myself to dine here with my husband. Unfortunately this time around my experience was beyond negative. It was appalling. It started the minute I stepped in to the restaurant and immediately I felt negative vibes from the 3 female servers. They were staring me down as if I did not belong there. This is pretty unusual in Alsace where most of the time, people were super friendly. I brushed it off because I was excited for my meal. The second sore point is that throughout the whole 4 course meal I was totally ignored. Yes I do not speak french like my husband but in my experiences in high level restaurants, the server will at least try to explain to me in English on the courses that we were presented. If not they will at least acknowledge my existence. Lol. Yes they all spoke English because i heard them speaking to the other clientele. In this instance, no attempt were even made to even look my way. It was as if I did not exist and my husband was dining alone 🤣🤣🤣🤣 By the main course, the server completely forgot the basic fine dining etiquette of serving ladies first. Instead she served my husband first. I guess I'm not worthy of any attention eventhough the whole reservation was under my name 🤷 😌 😕 Last but not least my lamb was partially uncooked. Blood was oozing out of it. It was completely inedible. Lucky for my husband he got the fully cooked delicious lamb. At this point, I was thinking, are these people seriously trolling me??? Lol Unfortunately, funny it is not. It has been 2 days since I had dinner and I'm still feeling sickly from the meal. My stomach has been cramping and I have had many symptoms of food poisoning. Right now I feel pretty annoyed because I came to the restaurant to have a great experience. I came out of it being ill and feeling like dirt on the bottom of someone's shoes. I have been to so many fine dining establishments but never have I experienced such appalling service and quality of food. So if you want to spend hundreds on meals, get food poisoning and treated like you are not worthy, please come here. Otherwise there are so many establishments in Colmar that is more worthy than this one. Le Quai 21 is one of it. This lack of quality explains why the michelin inspectors no longer awarded them with any stars. Such a shame cause it used to be so great. Not anymore.

We drove up from Basel to have lunch. This place is truly lovely. The setting is perfect, staff is very attentive, and the food is fantastic. We will definitely be back.

Very disappointing service! Besides numerous service shortcomings (i honestly don’t want to take the substantial time to write all details). The waitress was super unfriendly - maybe she simply had a very bad day, but we go to restaurants 5-8x / week and I do not remember having felt so uncomfortable for a long time. The food was also not very special: my lamb was full of fat and the vegetables too roasted, my foie gras was good but the bread only toasted on one side and brioche cold (ok if you want to be an average restaurant, but I have the feeling they want to maintain their two Michelin hoods)

When the waiter can tell you which region of France the strawberries in the garnish of your dessert come from, what else is there to say...

We came all the way from Basel to celebrate an occasion at á l’Échevin and were not disappointed. On the contrary; the food was delicious, the service was very professional and friendly and the Ambiente was cosy and beautiful. The cuisine at l’Échevin is typical french on a high level with slight modern or foreign references. For the main we ordered three different dishes: beef filet, venison filet and pigeon (first pigeon in my life;) All three pieces of meats came accompanied with different, carefully chosen and prepared sides. The pigeon was perfectly done and incredibly tender. Sadly the beef filet was served rather well done then medium, as ordered, therefore I give only 4 stars. Finally, the deserts were an art piece, as you can see. We had a wonderful evening at l’Échevin and will certainly come again once we have something to celebrate.

This was a heavy heavy heavy prix fix four course meal. A standout was the lobster. The pigeon has a strange consistency to it and the dessert was very tart!

Fantastic restaurant. Went here for a Christmas Eve lunch, and was not disappointed! The view of the canal decked for Christmas from the table was beautiful, and the food was just as gorgeous... and delicious! Highly recommend the venison with deep fried ravioli, and the poached pear with chestnut mousse for dessert. We were too early in the day for the Christmas menu, but no regrets. The regular menu is amazing, and the restaurant itself is beautiful. Hope to be back someday. Service was also extremely nice and spoke English. Five stars for every aspect!

Some of the unfriendliest service I have ever witnessed. Our main waitress, who seemed to hold some low level managing position, didn't make any effort whatsoever. Abysmal. As far as the food goes, our mains (pigeon and salmon) were good and starters mediocre. The chocolate dessert was middle of the road, the rhubarb was - to be fair - exceptionally good. We also ate at bord'eau, also a Michelin plate just 50 meters further. Less classical French, if that is what you're looking for, but cheaper and wayyyyy better, both by taste and service. It is owned and run by a 2 Michelin star chef, and it really shows.

Hard to rate. Exceptional food. Very creative, delicate, tasteful. A blend of local and imaginative cuisine. Service pompous, arrogant, more interested in how they present rather than how they actually treat the customer.

The ambiance was enjoyable, yet the food and service were disappointing. The foie gras was delightful; however, the hare was overcooked and excessively salty, with a tough outer layer that made it inedible. Service was notably inattentive, with very long waits. Took 20m after order to get the starters. It wasn’t until we requested to cancel our order that our food was promptly served; by then it was 50m after the starters. This restaurant is not worth it; you will enjoy more with just photos outside the hotel.

This is the best place in Colmar. The food is simply delicious. Here are the best dishes I have eaten in 2023. I planned to propose to my girlfriend at this hotel. The hotel team, which is a really great team, took care of all the details, making it a truly romantic moment. We will definitely return to this hotel throughout our lives to feel full again. Congratulations to the team for their professionalism, for how attentive they are. Congratulations to the kitchen team, they really deserve the Michelin award

My friend and I celebrated her birthday here. We had an amazing experience. We each ordered a cocktail, and the mixologist crafted something lovely for each of us. The food was amazing, as was the service. The mixologist kept checking on us to be sure we enjoyed the meal. It really was a fantastic place to celebrate her birthday!

Beautiful place. Food and service were disappointing. We had the menu with wine pairing. Wine was excellent, dishes average, strange combination of ingredients (strawberry with meat and fish) and the duck very chewy. The dessert was great. Had to ask three times to have the wine served at the same time when the dishes arrived. Very professional reaction of the staff when complaining about the duck. Received another dish instead including wine. I have been to better places, especially when considering the price of 240 EUR that I paid for two persons.

Lovely place. They seated us by the window and it felt almost magical. The food was also yummy and the service was attentive and warm.

Lovely location, excellent food. Would have been 5*, but for Foie Gras being a part of the main course (only choice! 🤔) of the menu. Of course you can ask them to leave it, but still: foie gras is not done in this day and age. To make up for it: the vegaterian menu is truly excellent.

Delightful place. With views of the water running through this lovely town. Staff is very welcoming, even for a family of four that's a bit tired and dirty from a day trip. Honest friendliness and kindness you only find in the places that give you the best experiences. The food, with great options available for the little ones, is amazing. Super delicious. This is really well worth your visit if you want to have a wonderful experience.
