I couldn't decide between 2 and 3 stars but I feel generous today. The location is nice, close to the sea, very old city center. The service is split.. some of them are very nice and helpful (especially the girls) and some of them are not meant to work with people. We had an overall good experience although it was ruined by the end of the night by one of the waiters who wasn't very careful.. I won't go into details, my review is based on the general experience. The food is very average .. we took a platter for sharing and some of the tapas were good some were average and some were tasteless. The biggest disappointment was the chicken schnitzel which would have been great if it had some taste. Luckily it had some tomato sauce and cheese on it which gave it some taste. Pizza as well.. it doesn't have anything to do with a real pizza. If you're already drunk, none if this will bother you.

Horrible experience yesterday at this place after a waiter spilled 2 glasses of Baileys coffee cocktails on me literally. Ruined my evening. The 2 stars are for our lovely waitress who made sure we got everything we asked for and also that I receive a discount for the mess her colleague did. It is mostly a sports bar, so not my kind of place, the food was very bad also, tasteless (except for the appetisers which were quite good) and the drinks are worth it only during happy hours. Little alcohol in them, lots of ice and that's it. Very disappointed, will not come back! 😞

Decent prices, decent food, good atmosphere. Can't really ask for much more, it's very "pub" vibes. They have a bar crawl that starts everyday from there, and some different events on different days like quizzes and whatnot. Good place to start the night in my opinion!

A good place to enjoy the busy cour saleya vibe. Fresh beer, fast service once you get a hold of a server. Some food were not available. Pity that this info was not communicated, as I had to rethink my choices...and you know its disappointing when you are starving😅😁

Bonne ambiance, le cocktail porn star martini a été bien fait, par contre pour le champagne ils ont mis du prosecco, alors que le champagne plus haut de gamme marie mieux le cocktail et on ressent la différence Le plat a été très bon et le service au top

Service incompétent se trompe dans la commande , et ne sait ni rembourser, ni envoyer la bonne commande "car la cuisine à fermé" Pizza mauvaise Musique trop fort Bar à fuire A l' inverse de la réponse du propriétaire, aucun verre ne nous a été offert et nous n'avons fait preuve d' aucune violence ou énervement , ils ont des vigiles bien trop costaud pour faire preuve de force 🤣

The biggest pub in town, here you can have the best cocktail in town, a good choice of beers (best Guinness in town) and sip wines from Australia or Argentina between others... Enjoy!

If you're Irish and in Nice this is the place to come staff were all very helpful .

It was our first time at this pub for happy hour with a friend. We had two draft beers and some tapas: VERY TASTY! The experience was truly unique thanks to the kindness, attentiveness, and professionalism of ELI, who served us. VERY RECOMMENDED!

Food is really good. Service is fine n lovely staff. Atmosphere is very enjoyable Liked the decorating the place in general is very good.

Service was slow after they make you pay for your drinks up front. Got a Long Island iced tea and couldn’t taste any alcohol at all. After returning the drink and letting the server know there was no alcohol taste (in a drink that has 5 different types of alcohol), I waited another 5 minutes for them to bring back the exact same drink and rudely explain to me that you’re not supposed to taste the alcohol because it’s a cocktail??

Run by some not so very lovely humans. Young staff working and travelling trying to see the world treated like absolute garbage. Under poured over priced on absolutely everything. If you’ve ordered a cocktail you’ve basically just bought an €11 sprite in a fancy glass. As for the food a golden retriever wouldn’t even go near it. Don’t waste your time at this or it’s sister venues (Ma Nolans) plenty of great well priced bars in Nice run by real people with real passion. Stay groovy !!!

Van Diemens is definitely one of the best bars I’ve been to in a while. The food and cocktails were excellent, but the service is what impressed me most. Marie, our waitress, was fantastic, friendly, thoughtful, and very professional. She really added a personal, welcoming touch to the night that made us want to stay longer than we planned. Great spot for both a casual drink or a fun night out!

I must say in a bit confused, Australian Pub doesn’t really mean much. Not a single thing about this place is Australian, not a single Australian beer, not a single Australian spirit, not a single Australian wine, the only thing Australian is the name of 2 food products. A Hawaiian pizza and an ‘Aussie Burger’, I’m not saying what this business should or shouldn’t range but don’t call it an Australian pub and have nothing Australian? Nonetheless the staff were fantastic and the actual space is great!

Had a brilliant time here. Drinks were spot on, really well made and a great selection. The service made the visit even better, Darren was looking after us and genuinely went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. Lovely guy and a real credit to the place. Would definitely recommend and will be back!

I had a wonderful evening at Van Diemens. The atmosphere was lively without being overwhelming, and the drinks were top-notch. What really made the night stand out, though, was the service. Our waitress, Marie, was incredibly warm, she made us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we sat down. It’s rare to find that kind of personal touch, and it made the whole experience so much better. Highly recommend this place!

Great friendly service specially from Irish staff! Love this place, would definitely recommend to anyone . Shout out to Ashling and David who made it feel.like home!

Not sure how this bar classifies as Australian? There is not even 1 Australian beer on tap available. And the food, also not Australian. The only thing Australian about it as was the cheap portraits of Australian animals, and the term “blokes” used on the doors to the bathroom. However the beer selection was good if you want euro beer

One of my favorite pub in Nice, clearly above the average, I strongly recommend it, in particular to meet the kind hearted dwarf waitress.

Love this place, great beers, fantastic food, lovely service - don’t take any notice about the slow comments, everything has been very fast. Lovely people, friendly behind the bar & service team. Great place to watch the football too.
