Hotel
Palas
is
an
interesting
case.
We've
booked
an
apartment
for
the
3
of
us
and
the
room
was
quite
ok.
Spacious,
clean,
all
amnesties
included,
except
a
minibar.
The
room
had
a
small
fridge
incorporated
in
the
furniture
but
it
was
empty.
It
didn't
bother
us
though
as
we
bought
our
own
drinks
and
used
the
fridge
to
keep
them
cold.
When
it
comes
to
the
quality
of
the
services,
the
story
changes
dramatically.
Let's
take
it
by
category:
1.
The
parking
lot
boy,
or
maybe
more
appropriate
it
would
be
the
parking
lot
thug.
He
is
a
special
character,
a
real
"talent"
contacted
from
a
local
security
company
judging
by
the
branded
overstretched
t-shirt
holding
his
belly
in
place.
He
is
there
to
welocome
you
by
saying
there
is
no
parking
available
and
that
you
cannot
stop
in
front
of
the
hotel
to
unload
your
luggage.
Priceless!
Getting
annoyed
with
him
in
the
first
10
seconds
from
our
arrival
I
decided
to
completely
ignore
him
so
I
parked
in
front
of
the
entrance
and
unloaded
the
luggage
then
move
the
car
to
a
parking
space
40-50
meters
away
from
the
hotel.
Problem
solved
we
thought
until
we
had
a
second
day
encounter
with
him
while
we
were
returing
with
the
car
from
a
short
trip.
As
we
approached
the
hotel
we
noticed
an
open
parking
spot
close
to
the
entrance
but
blocked
by
a
plastic
pin.
He
was
there
and
as
we
signaled
our
intention
to
use
the
open
spot
he
just
stood
there
staring
at
us.
Not
having
a
problem
to
remove
the
pin
myself
I
got
out
of
the
car
and
started
moving
it
to
a
different
place
so
I
can
park.
That's
the
point
when
he
started
yelling
rudely
at
us
to
not
touch
the
damn
pin
as
it's
not
an
object
we
brought
from
our
home
to
move
it
around
as
we
see
fit
and
that
it
was
his
job
to
move
it.
At
that
point
I
just
started
laughing
because
the
situation
was
literally
absurd.
I
assume
it
was
all
just
a
matter
of
not
tipping
him
from
day
1
or
maybe
he
was
holding
the
spot
for
someone
who
tipped.
Oh
well...
tough
luck.
2.
The
electrician
who
doesn't
care.
During
our
3rd
day
at
Hotel
Palas
the
blow-dryer
in
the
bathroom
literally
decomposed
in
my
wife's
hands
while
using
it
and
electrocuting
her.
We've
informed
the
receptionist
about
the
problem
and
that
it
should
be
fixed
right
away.
She
did
send
an
electrician
the
next
morning
at
9
am
but
basically
the
guy
came
in,
looked
at
the
blow-dryer
and
left
without
saying
anything.
It's
5
pm
now
and
the
hot
wires
are
still
exposed
next
to
the
bathroom
sink.
We
forbid
out
4
year
old
daughter
to
go
in
the
bathroom
unattended
for
fear
of
her
touching
the
wires.
I
wonder
if
the
hotel
management
is
aware
of
the
legal
liabilities
they
are
exposed
to
if
something
bad
happens
in
the
facility
he/she
manages.
Most
probably
not.
3.
The
empty
restaurant
-
the
hotel
has
a
medium
size
restaurant
which
was
decently
refurbished.
However
the
prices
are
ridiculously
high
that
you
cannot
count
more
than
3-4
occupied
tables
at
lunch.
For
dinner
is
virtually
empty.
Nothing
against
high
prices
in
a
restaurant
if
the
food
is
great,
but
in
this
case
the
food
is
mediocre
at
best.
We
ordered
one
day
the
grilled
salmon
and
it
was
served
undercooked,
and
by
that
I
mean
that
the
middle
of
it
was
raw.
One
other
thing
that
made
us
smile
was
the
price
of
a
200ml
glass
of
fresh
orange
juice
which
is
priced
at
30lei.
I
mean...
I
haven't
seen
a
pricier
OJ
even
in
the
poshest
terraces
in
Bucharest
where
you
don't
pay
more
that
15lei
for
that.
Ridiculous!
Anyway...
The
restaurant
is
simply
a
sad
story
with
waiters
sitting
around
bored
waiting
for
costumers.
A
total
waste.
The
receptionists,
bellboys
and
cleaning
staff
do
their
job
properly.
They're
all
worth
tipping.
In
a
nutshell,
the
hotel
has
a
lot
of
potential
but
due
to
bad
or
lack
of
management
it's
just
a
case
for
a
lot
of
improvement.
Currently
underpar
for
a
4*
hotel.
I
have
it
2*
just
daceuse
the
rooms
are
nice
but
otherwise
it
would
have
deserved
1*
with
regards
to
the
services
offered.
Too
bad!
We're
definitely
not
returning
here.
