I have been to hotel Savoy twice: one time in 2017 and another in 2018. Some of the rooms are nice and they look like a four star hotel, but others are very small and not so clean. For example, there are rooms for 3-4 people (as the receptionist says), but they are actually double rooms with a couch and almost no space between them (room 2004 - I was not inspired to take a picture of the room). Other rooms are more fit for 3-4 people, but they are considered apartments. Also the rooms that I have been checked in had a balcony, but the walls were not very clean and had plastic chairs (in my opinion not suitable for a four star hotel). The bathroom needs more cleaning, as the metallic parts inside it contained green water stains. Also, the walls between the tiles have dirt (see bathroom pics). Otherwise, the food and drinks are good. They have 3 bars - one on the beach, one at the pool and one inside the restaurant, so you don't have to walk too much for a drink. In the Guest Book that every room has, it is said that the hotel supports the environment suggesting that guests should use the towels with this thought in mind. Although Savoy supports the environment, at the restaurant and at the bars, drinks like water, cocktails, or juice are served in plastic cups, which brings the impression that Savoy supports the environment only when it is in their interest.

We stayed for 6 days there. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone with babies. Let’s see, what we had issues with: - the bell boy doesn’t understand if you kindly reject his help with the luggage. Keeps insisting and insisting. - the elevators safety maintenance certificate was due at 31st of May. Are they safe? I have no clue. Only know that one of the elevators keeps closing it’s door, even if you are entering with a baby stroller. - the room was clean, nothing to complain, but all rooms are old fashioned. - the music is way toooo loud in the evening if you have a baby. - we got a crib for our baby, on request, but the baby package they advertise is basically non existent: there is a blender in the dining area, but with no food for babies. Asked twice, they just said they don’t have food for them. So you can make purees, if you bring the vegetables for them, i guess. - heated pools … well. Not really. Oh, and there are a LOT of ANTS around the pool. Like a LOT. I was afraid to let the baby sleep there. - the hotel is far from the center, but has a private beach which is very clean and they even have trash cans for every sunbed. Which is really great. - the playground for the kids is amazing tho. And it’s huge as well. - the girls at the bar are awesome and helpful. Even when they didn’t have non alcoholic beverages, they tried making it. - the waiters, and only the young ones, are rude and comment on everything and everyone. - the food was ok. Not great, but ok. The marketing team is doing a great job, but the reality is bittersweet. Would not recommend this hotel to families with babies.

“If you search a place for kids this is not one for you. Louder and louder music as you go in to the night. At 20.00 you have 70-80db and after 21.00 you can expect for 90db and up. This reading is from roam because the double glassing is just full of holes and is like you don’t have any protection for sound or nature.” As a positive side: - the food is on the discretion and all inclusive is included as many you can drink and eat, - kids have 2 or 3 sessions of play with face panting and Sica clown with balloons in evening ( in english and deutsch ) and playing on the seaside in the morning . - in the evening we have puppet theatre with 1h music for parents.( for us the volume was to loud ) Staff is welcoming and offer a service as best for their knowledge. Food selection is from beef to fish pork and chicken with a little see food and cocktails, cookies coffee as you can serve. For us the 22.00h music is difficult to put to sleep 2 kids in their first 1-3 years of life but i’m sure that no matter for all of you with light hours of sleep. As a nice torch is the ice cream with a cold bear on the beach bar to sweeten the lait night music ( until 22.00h ).

2021 review: Just don't come by car! Hotel parking is full (although the hotel is far from fully occupied), there is no long term parking anywhere around. The only alternative seems to be to purchase a day parking every day at a ridiculous price. 2022 update - the parking situation improved, so did the hotel (the beach is better organized with chaizlong close to the sea, better drinks incl. prosecco and food, personnel is very friendly). All in all a good destination for families with kids. Upgrading my review to 4 stars.

The beach was great, same for the pool. In terms of food diversity (vegetarian, vegan) sustainability, professionalism and cleanliness things can be way better. Overall for an all inclusive hotel on the beach, the trip was nice.

Over-rated all inclusive hotel. Except the evening entertainment, there is nothing, really, to do... Didn't like the room, either. Old furniture, old smell. The pool floor was slippery (this means, it wasn't clean). Food is as cheap as you can get (cheap pizza, cheap fruits, cheap sweets). There is a persistent and disgusting food smell at the restaurant area. It has reminded me about the communist "restaurants" at the seaside. I had to eat on the outer terrace each time and I am not a sensitive person. No handrails for people with health issues (because they have closed the beach stairs between breakfast and lunch, to secure the band's instruments). Next time, I get bed and breakfast in...Greece.

Good: very close to the sea. Nice room and view. Bad: the food is not very good. The kids pool looked dirty and abandoned. Not a 4 stars hotel. Food had no allergy list. My son had a pretty ugly allergic reaction after eating breakfast. The kid fell asleep, but we had to checkout at 12. I asked the staff if we could stay longer because of the baby, but we had to pay 250 lei for 4 extra hours. After paying the fee, they told us we have to leave the room earlyer...While the baby was sleeping, another tourist already had the key to our room and entered. We had a bad experience and we will never return here.

In the past years we used to spend our summer holidays in Bulgaria and Turkey. However, in 2019 we decided to give a chance to the Romanian tourism services. After a short search we found Hotel Savoy in Mamaia. We booked it already in January with early booking and we got a fair price. The hotel is great, the staff is kind and helpful. The rooms are okay, the beach is okay, food is good, all inclusive drinks are good! They have programs for kids, beach towels, escape bar, beach bar, cocktails, all is there what you need for an excellent holiday. The only problem is that the music is too loud at the beach. Another issue, the kids pool is abandoned and dirty! Anyway, we give five stars for this holiday. We will come back for sure.

A lovely vacation with great staff, amazing food and a very relaxing beach. I would highly recommend it to families - they have literally everything a child of any age would want. They have an inflatables area for jumping, daycare (full of toys), activities, daily story time at 8PM (like an interactive minidisco), a children area on the beach (if they want to play in the sand or swim), a park (swings, slides) and many more. All the children looked happy and calm. I wish I knew about this place when I was a kid so my parents would take us to a hotel like this one. For adults the bar is all inclusive, they have Zumba or Yoga classes and the pool was very calm. Beach towels are included and the beach was clean. There are daily dancing or music shows. The staff was beyond nice - you can ask them for anything and they will make it happen. The restaurant is perfect. They have vegan options and I found a lot of alternatives for those who are on a diet. Our room was really clean, they change the towels and the minibar (fridge drinks) are included. Honestly, if you're going to stay somewhere with your family I highly recommend it here. I was impressed. 10 out of 10!

This is my 4th year when I come here. Perfect place if you have children. The staff is great, the rooms are clean and the bars will always serve.

Rooms are very large, clean but you cannot shake the feeling from a bygone era :) Service is good, food tasty and quite varied from one day to the other. The pool is reasonably clean. Not a lot to do there though besides a couple of pool tables and ping pong. At nights is some artistic representations
