Lovely local pub, wonderful staff and a nice simple but perfect menu. They have seating inside as well as in small covered spaces outside. We ordered the "loaded fries" and the "crispy chicken wings", food came quickly and full of flavour. The chocolate and vanilla cheesecake is a must have for dessert.

Booked in to the South County for the first time since re-opening. Online booking system made it simple to secure a table and we were sat outside of course. The beer garden is newly refurbished, it's bright and spacious. The weather was fantastic but they have temporary gazebos covering the area in case you're not so lucky on other days. The food was excellent as always and the pints were every bit as good (very welcome after nearly 6 months without them). My girlfriend had an aperol spritz which was their cocktail special for the day. We were well looked after by the staff who checked in regularly and were very attentive. Still my favourite pub in Douglas! All the best to the owners and staff with the re-opening. Will definitely be back.

We used to live in the place where they serve food and it was so lovely to get the opportunity to visit with family. The last 19 months have been hard on everyone, but it's great to be finally supporting local family business's. The O'Connors always make us feel at home and their food and atmosphere was amazing. Looking forward to the next visit already

Great bar and food. we like. I personally eat a seafood soup every time. Some are thick, with a lot of fish and seafood.

Always outstanding in every way! Beautiful atmosphere, amazing food and drink, and the friendliest and most lovely staff! This is our "local" even though we drive in from Fermoy--well worth the trip! And Tom the owner is a STAR ๐ŸŒŸ Easily our favourite pub in all of Ireland. โ™ฅ๏ธ Here's a pic of us in front of South County on Paddy's Day.

The best pub in Douglas Village. Shows all the sports on tvs located around this large bar and restaurant. Service is always spot on.

We visited this pub last Sunday evening randomly. Had a lovely visit, mainly due to great service and attitude from our waitress Megan. Will definitely be going again!

Lovely place for a pint of Guiness, great for chats with friends and a nice buzz on a night with music. Food is nice too. All round it's a nice traditional Irish pub ๐Ÿ™‚

I've been frequenting SC for about a year and haven't had a bad meal yet. Meals are always fresh & piping hot! Waitstaff is always friendly and concerned that you're enjoying your visit. I absolutely adore that they staff young adults with special needs....brilliant!

Really nice pub for an evening to chat or to listen to music. Really good decoration. Loads of little corners making it ideal to have more private conversations.

Had breakfast here. Lovely food, lovely staff, lovely bar. Have been numerous times and will continue to return. Lunch and evening meals are lovely too, the big salad, fish and chips, bruschetta are all good options

Absolutely phenomenal ribs! So far the best I had in Cork. The portions are huge, maybe too much but you can always ask for take away and have it for dinner for the rest of the week. It's reasonably priced and the staff is fantastic

We went to the South County last night for the second day of our daughter's wedding celebrations. We had a fantastic night. Lovely trad group playing when we arrived, beautiful hot food and sandwiches served for our guests, excellent service from a very friendly staff, lovely ambience. Couldn't have been better.

Highly recommended the mushrooms and the homemade fish cakes... Not dry, perfect combination of herbs and fish... The Chardonnay was crisp with a grapefruit taste. The service was smiling and professional. I would definitely come back and try the breakfast.

Unexpectedly great food for a pub. We were very pleased. We ordered crab cakes, fish chowder and battered prawn and chips. Good quality ingredients, generous portions. Enjoyed a pint of Murphys. Would we return? Sure!

Nice pub with a lot of space. Much bigger inside then it looks. Friendly, good food and pints.

Excellent food and that's from a group of 4 of us but the service was terrible. Over 30 mins for mains had to ask 3 times for a glass of water and then had to ask for salt each time it took over 10 minutes to receive. We had to leave without desert because once we had out plates taken and asked for the menu 20 minutes later and still no dessert menu. Lots of staff walking around but unfortunately not interested in serving tables.

Pleasant enough, not very busy and service was a bit slow but wasn't in any hurry so no problems. Had wings and roast beef, wings nice enough but more sauce on would have been nice . Beef lovely and tender an vegetables were fantastic, potatoes a bit dry and needed plenty of gravy to loosen em up .

It has the freshest, tastiest food. I usually would go on a Sunday and their roast meats are always tender. Their prawns are to die for. They have a great selection of food on their menu to suit everyone. The staff are so polite and helpful. I can't recommend this place enough.

๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ Awesome place to grab a bite to eat and have a nice drink or three in downtown Cork. I had the fish and chips and the wife had the lamb stew...they were both perfect. ๐Ÿ‘ Crazy good prices on food and beverages. You sacrifice attentive service, but everyone I talked to there was pleasant and helpful. The food was good and there were actually a number of beers that I have not seen elsewhere in the Cork area. I would not say this is a must do if visiting from abroad, b...
