Hacienda Cocula is a fantastic Mexican restaurant located in the suburbs of Chicago. From the moment you step inside, you're transported to a warm and welcoming environment that feels like a traditional hacienda in Mexico. The restaurant's decor is beautiful, with colorful tiles, wooden accents, and vibrant murals adorning the walls. The menu is filled with classic Mexican dishes, all expertly prepared with fresh ingredients and bursting with flavor. The menu includes every Mexican dish and every single one is made with care and attention to detail. For that night I was craving Tacos so I decided to get 3 tacos, two asada and one al pastor and they were out of this world. They're generously sized and packed with so much flavor, so you're sure to get your money's worth. The meat was cooked to perfection and the toppings provide the perfect complement, like a perfect dance. Whether you prefer steak, pork, or something a little spicier, there's sure to be a taco on the menu that will satisfy your cravings. The service at Hacienda Cocula is top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff who are knowledgeable about the menu and happy to make recommendations. Even though we came late, an hour before they closed, They took care of us really well. El Cocula is a wonderful restaurant that offers an authentic Mexican dining experience. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the service is excellent. It's a great spot for a date night, a family dinner, or a night out with friends. If you're in the Countryside area and looking for a great Mexican restaurant, Hacienda Cocula is definitely worth a visit!

They have a large variety of authentic Mexican dishes. The service is hit or miss, because the poor wait staff have to bus their own tables, bring food out and play bartender amongst other things. The decor is contemporary and colorful. It's hard to have a conversation when it gets busy, everything echoes throughout the dining room. They desperately need some sound deadening panels to make it more enjoyable and easier to hear people in your party. The food is good, but not necessarily the best. They have plenty of parking in the front and a lot more in back of the building, for your convenience.

Terrible food! I found a piece of plastic melted in with the cheese in my enchiladas dish. The management didn’t even apologize and refused to refund me for the dish. I had to bring up calling the police to get a refund. Terrible establishment. I will never go back!

The Seven Sea Soup is really good. Spicy but not where you can't taste the flavors. Our other meal skirt steak was as bland as could be. Sever was at best okay. The one on Pulaski by Archer is much better.

I was here on Tuesday ,a little after noon and I asked for a Tampiqueña plate, the menu said skirt steak, and is not true they are giving you regular steak as the Spanish people known as Bistec a cheap quality of meat and then they charge you over 25 dollars, also I asked for a Piña colada and it was wateries, plus Piña colada comes with a piece of pineapples on top and a cherry on center this one had none, first time here and I believe will be the last, the food was bad quality but the service was good

We found this place after the last day of our move, and we were in need of a big a$$ margarita and tacos. After scouring reviews, this was the winner, and it absolutely did not disappoint! We went on a Sunday evening and the place was busy, but no wait. I hope to try their other types of margs later, but after a weekend of moving, my guy and I opted for the full pitcher. In hindsight, this was more than we needed, but it was tasty! Service was awesome, food was delicious. Everything came out quickly, and we ate until we were too full to finish our pitcher. Definitely recommend for anyone looking for a fast, friendly meal. Reasonably priced and large portions!

In town for a meeting just for the day and decided to grab food from here based off of Google reviews. Me and my mom ordered the quesabirra tacos and a large guacamole as an appetizer. Though the we really enjoyed the tacos we did not enjoy the guacamole, not to mention that it came out after the entree. The guacamole tasted like there was 2 whole large red onions in it and lacked flavor overall. We attempted to add lime and salt to dilute the onion and give it more flavor but overall we weren’t able to eat it at all. Since our waitress (Isabelle) never came to check on us once after bringing our food, we weren’t able to tell her right away that we didn’t like the guacamole and wanted it remade without all of the onions. By time that we did get ahold of her (by asking another server if they could get her for us) to tell her about the guacamole we were just about done with our meal and just asked if they could remove it from the bill. She informed us that they weren’t able to do that nor could they remake it for us without the onion and that she also asked her manager if so. Since we were tired and didn’t want to put extra energy into talking to the manager, we decided to just take a loss and pay for the barely touched, uneaten guacamole. After this we finished the rest of our food and patiently waited for Isabel to come back with the check. After 15 mins Isabel never came back and we had to flag down the hostess. She came over and asked if we wanted to go boxes for the tacos and guacamole. Once we said no to the box for the guacamole and explained why we didn’t eat it and what was communicated to us about neither remaking it or taking it off the bill she made a face that clearly showed those statements weren’t true. She offered to go get the manager for us to speak about it. Once the manager came we were basically accused and profiled of “always asking for something off the bill”. she then explained that the recipe is always the same , where we then asked how could we possibly know that, this was our very first time ever coming here due to us traveling and just being in the area. She then proceeded to say “we see you two in here all the time”, baffled I immediately showed her my ID and asked how could we be here all the time if we’re from Texas. After that, she took it off our bill but no apology. Very unfortunate because we were excited to try their food just based off reviews and pictures. (I will attach a picture of the guacamole which I took after the first bill was brought to us)

Was a little drafty in restaurant but pretty and clean. Sodas were best we had in a while. I would have liked more meat in my burrito. But meat was good not stringy and chewy. My hubby had nachos he seemed to enjoy them said the taste was good perfect temp and didn't have to wait long for food which was great bc we were starving

There were not a lot of people in the restaurant when we arrived. The food was good and the service was ok, although I felt the food was overpriced. Be aware that a large soda was $3.50 with no free refills and the first serving of chips and salsa were free, but additional chips and salsa were $2 each. We won't be back, but if you're OK with the negatives, you'll probably like the food.

Great food and amazing service. Neighborhood spot I've been coming to for years. Tacos are good and hefty. Quesabirria is greasy but tasty. Margaritas are good too. Highly recommend in the area

This is our go-to, sit down, authentic (Tex-Mex) Mexican restaurant. We have been here many, many times. Cocula gift certificates are on our Christmas gift list! I HAVE ordered other meals, but always return to my favorites (the enchilada plates, either version). Everything is good here. The waitstaff and hostesses are busy yet friendly, as many families and guest frequent the restaurant both midday and evenings.

Update-- We went for lunch today. A very different experience. I'm almost positive they reheated my corn tortillas. They were like leather. The rice was good last time and today I got quite a few rock hard pieces of rice. The beans were almost crumbly. I might give It one more chance because it may have been an off day. Margaritas and VERY GOOD Diablo shrimp!! The only place that I've found where it's actually spicy. 5/5 stars hands down

The food was very tasty and our waitress was the absolute best!! Tacos were just the way I like them, my sister had the steak platter and she enjoyed it. My cousin had the eggs and sausage which was delicious too!

The place was so dirty. The bathroom stunk the lady at the counter was so rude and they weren't specific on how much my total was going to be in the beginning of my order. So when I went to pay they wanted to charge me $10 for a side of rice so I said no. Thank you. I'll leave that and they got angry. Started questioning me. Started talking about me in Spanish and laughing saying how I was too cheap to afford $10 rice. The place was just so horrendous. I felt negative vibes the whole time. I do not recommend this place. It is so overpriced, very bad service and very rude individuals, especially the lady in the counter with the curly hair
