This place has been my “go to” one stop shop for food and entertainment! The atmosphere is conducive for relaxation and enjoyment. I’ve recommended this venue to many people and the consensus has been that this is definitely the place to be! I love the mature audience that’s always drawn here, and the food NEVER disappoints! Tavern on La Grange is a breath of fresh air for foodies who love music and social gathering.

I have been before with no issues. This time for my wife's birthday, it couldn't have been worse. Food was the biggest problem. I ordered the $110 tomahawk steak cooked medium (supposed to be 40 oz). We ordered some crab cakes for appetizers. What we got was a plate full of other items (potatoes, spinach, and asparagus). There were 2 doughy crab cakes that they charged me $36 for. Should have been $12. My wife got her food, and I was told it could take up to 45 minutes for my order..... An hour and a half into the show, I'm flagging down everyone looking for my food. The manager came and said they couldn't find any steaks. 2 hours there.... I was brought a plate that looked like a mess. They put so many other vegetables on top of the steak that it made me suspicious. Scrapping away everything on the plate, the steak was super overcooked, the steak was not 40 oz (not even close), and they put a cup of ice on my plate! The manager came up to me right after getting my food and told me, "You don't have to rush, but we have reservations for this table for the next show." REALLY!? The icing on the cake was that they wrote congratulations on the cake for my wife's birthday! My suggestion is to eat before you come. The food is not worth the headache. The drinks are good and the shows are good.

I'd never been hear before but I enjoyed myself. The server was prompt and attentive. The food was not seasoned well but they were large portions. The live music was great. The musicians and the singers were very good. The songs were some of my favorites. I plan to visit again.

This was definitely a vibe on its own! The band was amazing! The food was a little pricey; but plentiful! The customer service was top tier! The drinks were "okay" and there was limited parking; but it is definitely worth it! I think the singer's name was Earlisha ... Baby girl had the whole tavern rocking! I definitely would recommend it for date night, girls/fellows night, birthday get downs, whatever you want to celebrate they will accommodate!

This place was amazing!! We reserved a table for the show the Dinner show they had. At first we had bad seats but then some how the owner walked by and I struck up conversation with him. He then said he didn’t like our seats, and said we will be VIP for the night and moved us to a big section close to the stage. The food and drinks were on point but the atmosphere was beautiful…they have valet parking and make sure u have enough money for the food.

This place is awesome! Great service, great food, great entertainment! Even though everything was great it's a bit too expensive for ME. I do recommend you to try them at least once but be prepared to spend some $$$. I had the cinnamon and apple pancakes that came with eggs, bacon and potatoes which were under my bacon on the picture was $24.00 and a Kardashian peach margarita $15.00 not bad but you do have to pay per seat for your table. An 18% gratuity is added to your bill so keep that in mind. Overall a beautiful place and did I mention the food was delicious? ( I only reviewed what I had, my friend had the catfish dinner, with greens, cheesy grits, a side of bacon, potatoes and the Rick Ross diced pineapple drink) bill with tip was $155.00 and this was brunch. I will return but.... I need to save my coins first lol.

This joint is awesome! There aren't many places in the area that offer this level of quality food accompanied by very good entertainment! The owners have a good pulse on what mature, grown folk look for in an evening out with friends! I have tried three dishes so far and gone 3 for 3 in my selections! Great date night spot.

Countryside Location: Went there on a sunday for brunch. The staff was awesome. The Dj was awesome. The drinks ($18) from the menu are always good. However, the food was okay. You can tell they cooked the food way ahead of time. So it wasn't made to order, which i prefer.

Reserved a table online for $20/person. Parked using a nice valet guy. Was greeted immediately upon entering the venue. There was a live dj, a comedy show, and a mini concert during 2.5hrs I was there. Had a super fun time. There were a few tables dancing, and most of the other tables were eating and enjoying the show. The server was nice and attentive. Our table had shrimp and grits, a jerk chicken dinner, lobster mac and cheese, a pepperoni and pineapple pizza, a crab cakes, potatoe wedges and asparagus platter, and a chicken wings, greens, and berry French toast platter. All of the food was delicious. The least favorite was the pineapple pizza, but it was still tasty. We also ordered several drinks that were delicious. Bill came out to $70/person, which included a 20% tip. Had a great time. Really enjoyed the experience and food.

So I went in celebration of my Niece's birthday. The DJ was nice, we was seated downstairs. We made reservations, there was a 20 dollar fee. Tables were moved to have a dance floor. I ordered the jlo taco platter, didn't really care for it, the rice wasn't cooked long enough for me the beans and rice was good. The best appetizer was the Beyonce lobster Mac n cheese, the jerk egg rolls, was a little too spicy for me, but everyone else liked them. I had a nice time, I would like to come back on a karaoke nights with my cousins...

I don't know what the negative reviews are about but what I experienced was priceless! Let's start with when we came in the female who check our reservation was on point. Then the waiter we had was excellent (I forgot his name) but he came by our table right on time everytime we needed something. We only ordered dessert and drinks and they both did justice 😋 and the entertainment was off the chain. Coming all the way from Muskegon Michigan this is a place you don't want to miss. The host, (I think his name was EL) he was very funny and entertaining 😄. I never been in a black owned establishment where I felt welcomed and acknowledged. Not the mention the down stairs (1st floor) area was a whole other vibe as well. The fact that they have new entertainment every single night is 🤪 crazy but gets and keeps the ppl coming back time after time. Ppl were dancing, singing, laughing, eating, and vibing all at the same time. I'm Definitely telling ALL my coworkers about this place. The band that played tonight was incredible 👏🏾 🙌🏾 😍 them young Boys know how to win a crowd!

I’ve been hearing a lot about this place- good and bad. My girls and I went in August 2023, so this is a late review, but based on MY experience. The atmosphere was nice, busy, and they had a live performer who did her thing. She sang! The food took a long time and there were some errors made, but my food was delicious. Everyone at my table did not have that same experience. The menu stated their meal would come with a particular vegetable, but that was not the case and the server did not provide that information up front. Our server wasn’t the best, but I also think she was overwhelmed. It seemed a bit short staffed on the floor. Other than that, the group was pleased. I felt like I got a nice portion based on price. Parking sucks, there is no other way to put that. They do have a lot, but it will fill up quickly. They have party areas that are separate from the main floor. Clean atmosphere and restrooms. Elevator which makes it wheelchair friendly to access the other spaces.

At first we were not sure how this night was going to end. We have been here a few times before and enjoyed ourselves. So we decided to Celebrate my 50th and my wife 55 birthday here yesterday. My wife was not initially happy about the charges for our reservations for this night. After some time had passed the manager was able to get in touch with one of the owners Tone. He was not there but drove out to try and resolve the issue. After sometime of talking and and hearing our complaint and concerns respectfully from both sides his and ours. Tone went over and beyond more than was expected to make this a great Bday celebration. He compensated us generously for our large party. The food, drinks are always amazing and great entertainment! This was greatly appreciated and he was very professional and easy to talk to! Thanks again for a great night and look forward to coming back again! Thanks from our family!

I absolutely loved this place and the atmosphere. I had the Mary Me Chicken, which comes with potatoes and sauteed vegetables. The portions are plentiful and the taste is full of flavor, very filling and savory. The drinks were great and the server was phenomenal. This place is a GEM and I hope it has continued success. P.S The live entertainment was a 10 out of 10.

The vibe was 5/5. We went on Crowd Participation Monday and it was so nice. Food was decent, wings a little salty but overall everything was great and the drinks were pretty. Marlon Brando Pasta was kinda bland but the calamari was very good.

Great food, great music, great atmosphere. Good place to go for date night. The serving portions was alot, enough to take home and enjoy. I like the age demographic, crowd engagement from the show. I really enjoyed it for my first time, can't wait to go back 😊

Had my 40th birthday dinner here, and when I say the owner and his sister definitely accommodated my 30 guest, the service was excellent! The owner even sent a bottle of Moët champagne to my table, very sweet! His sister Precious was an excellent coordinator! Thanks to everyone there! Definitely will be back! Comedy night was a hit!

This is my second time coming here. I brought my mom to celebrate her 71st birthday. She had a wonderful time. The food was excellent and hearty. You will definitely need a to-go box. The live band was on point. When I come back to visit my mom, I will ensure I stop by again. Great experience!

First time here and I'd definitely say the food was very good. There were a few things about the restaurant that were a bit off-putting--the first is the very pricey valet to park your car in the lot right behind the restaurant (we had to wait outside while he grabbed out car, so honestly it seemed like a waste of time. It would have been far faster to just park ourselves). The other was the menu pricing, which was weirdly inconsistent and felt a bit arbitrary. For instance, one item would be $22, but another very similar item (in terms of what one would reasonably think it would cost) would be more like $34. I can understand different ingredients having different costs (eg, chicken vs steak), but this was not the case with these items. The menu had creative names for items, but really for quite a few things you had to read to read the description as the title did not really allude to what it was. Those few things said, the atmosphere was pretty good--semi casual, semi-formal, with live music (which was very classy and suited the mood well). The food in terms of presentation and taste was phenomenal, definitely 5/5 stars for that. I got a soda and another at my table ordered one of the same type, and the waitress brought us a pitcher of it, which I found to be very thoughtful and something you really seldom see at restaurants--nothing worse than having to wait for a drink refill. If I ever want one of the finest fine-dining brunches available, I'll definitely be back.

Overall, I enjoyed the comedy show and food here. The environment was really great, the energy & the vibes were cool. The food & drinks were okay. I do feel that this place is pricey for what it is. But- overall, it wasn't bad for a night out.

A little on the expensive side for what we were doing, essentially we were on more of a Starbucks type setting, but we ended up here. Food was great, definitely a bang for your buck feel. The atmosphere was phenomenal and very chill. A place to kick it and hear some good music. This is quality and you can bring the family or take a date. I can say the service was just good. I don't remember our server name, but she was nice. However she could be on it a little more as far as what the customer may need. All around a great experience, definitely worth a try... 👍🏿👍🏿

I went to their brand new location attached to the holiday inn hotel. The Customer service was phenomenal, everyone is extremely friendly, and it’s a great environment. The bartender was a little novice because she didn’t know what a whiskey sour is, but it was her fist night on the job, and she did very well considering. She was very friendly and had some good drink recommendations. The food is a little pricey but it’s worth every penny, and the proportions that you receive are massive. That was the best jerk burger and sweet potatoes fries I’ve ever had. We were also given complimentary egg roles which were phenomenal. The head chef was extremely knowledgeable and friendly, I could tell he cares about the food because the presentation was perfect. I briefly talked with the chef, you can tell he’s an up and coming chef because he cares a great deal about quality of the food, and he is eager to make a name for himself. You can tell he cares about the reputation of his restaurant because he personally made sure that we were all satisfied with our food. That was by far the best restaurant I’ve been to that was attached to a hotel, and it’s not even close. I would say the food was on par with other fancy five star restaurants despite the fact that the building just looks like an average restaurant. Next time I’m in Chicago I will be sure to come. Great food, great service, and great people, I would highly recommend this place to everyone.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place!! The ambience, the vibe, the service and the drinks was all TOP TIER!! As we were leaving the live band started setting up and warming up, wished I could’ve stayed longer. The drink menu was stellar, the Rick Ross drink with Pineapple Juice and Mezcal was my favorite. The tajin rim made the drink that much better. The Kardashian Margarita was meh and bland. As far as the food goes, was disappointing. Ordered the Marvin Gaye Braised Beef Short Ribs. Was anticipating the English Cut thicker style when you read the description, but when the plate was brought out it was the Flanken (Kalbi) Cut short ribs. I was highly irritated because I’ve never had that style of short ribs braised nor served with mashed potatoes ands gravy. So for one, you already know they were tough, as there was no marination in pear or apples and other spices to tenderize the meat. The gravy was disgusting and bland. Tasted like enveloped brown gravy mix. Also tried the Rhianna Lobsterpops and Shrimp. Great flavor for both but too many fries for my taste. The server was stellar. She was attentive, very kind and pleasant and offered many suggestions when asked about ordering drinks. Overall, great place but I highly recommend overlooking the Braised Beef Short Ribs when you order and please TAKE MARVIN GAYE’S NAME OFF THE MENU with these because they didn’t deliver and Uncle Marvin WOULD NEVA!!

Outstanding service, atmosphere, and generous portions of food. Our server bought us out 2 cupcakes with sparklers on them. Very nice touch. A bit expense but worth it! Also every server that passed our table checked in on us. Nice touch.

Nice place for a meal before 5pm. After 5pm you're charged for band performance. $20 at the door. $10 online fee. Menu changed and not for the better. People working there were top notch. Too many hidden fees. A $15 fee for sharing is crazy. I eat light, so being able to share is cost saving and beneficial for me. Please read the back of the menu from top to bottom. I got a $125 tomahawk steak. It was half of what I thought I would be getting. Not worth the cost. That being said, I wish the restaurant nothing but good things and hope it keeps thriving. It's just not for me.

The rating for this establishment is based on the fact I had more cons than pros. Our server was the absolute worse! He lacked attentiveness, professional, courtesy and I can go on. The door was left open that led to the inside, and our table was by the door; so we had to bat two flies for over 10mins. One of the orders took over 15mins to be delivered after everyone else food was at the table. However, the food was tasty and well presented. The menu will definitely have you wanting to order multiple items. I had an order discrepancy and the Manger took care of it in a very prompt and respectful manner. My first experience wasn't good due to the service of the waiter but I would come back again and give them another chance. As well as update review .

I usually don’t write reviews about restaurants but this restaurant deserves a 5 star review. First off the the location was perfect for me coming from the city to the suburbs. Parking was pretty smooth but it wasn’t busy at the restaurant the night I went due to the weather. Love the layout when you first get in. Spacious nice bar area and tons of TVs and tables for any size party. Love the stage area where bands and DJ’s can setup. Now getting to the most important thing the FOOD and DRINKS!!!!! I admit I look at the prices and they were kinda high but after eating the food and portion you get, it’s definitely well worth it. You will truly get your moneys worth especially if you order the salmon and shrimp pasta. It’s definitely the same for the drinks. I ordered the diced pineapple and surprised shots they have and they were perfect. One of the most import things I can say is the service was wonderful and very impressive. My server Roberto was excellent and the best. Also had a chance to meet the owner and she’s wonderful. I definitely recommend this place and give it 5 stars. Can’t wait to go back for their brunch.
