I went to college in Coventry and never appreciated the fine architecture and history or the city. Now older and living in Australia I was keen to soak up the history that this ruin had to offer. Although WW2 caused destruction you can still see the age of the ruins in the stonework of the emails. The new cathedral contrasts with the ruins excellently. There are other buildings around also worth visiting Cheap parking nearby as are plenty of shops

The old cathedral that was heavily damaged in ww2, the tower, and the structure of the building remains just missing the roof. Free to visit.

Coventry Cathedral still in the hearts of the People and all Christians. Blessed are those who knows the name of God. So so many events in this place, like also watch and observations Tower to reach by so many steps. Important place on the lands of Church of England located close to the Coventry City Council building.

The Cathedral is right at the heart of the city. The beautiful sunny weather yesterday brought out the people from their homes and enjoy the outdoors. There are pubs and shops nearby so people are all around the area.

Beautifully well reserved ruins. I visited during Christmas time and an ice rink had been setup, it was so magical and pretty with the surrounding fairy lights and wintery theme. What an amazing venue to have access to as a city to put on some fantastic events.

Stunning modern church next to the ruins of the old church, which was bombed in the Second World War. The modern church has some of the most impressive stained glass windows I've ever seen. Good accessibility to both ruins and modern church. Free to visit, donations invited.

Cool place to walk through. Amazing that the walls survived the bombings in 1940. It’s a shame that so many amazing historical buildings were destroyed during this period!

They are what they are...... Ruins of a cathedral damaged in the second World War. Quite amazing that so much is still there and the story of forgiveness is so needed in the world today. Worth a look to go up the tower, only open on Friday and Saturday. Small interesting museum in the corner of the ruins. Story of the cross and nails is lovely strong.

I don’t know what it is about being here that makes life feel so surreal. Could it be that you find yourself wondering how war could be so destructive to human life or that many years later you are standing right there in what is left from all that carnage. The Cathedral is beautiful and well kept. A lot of activity always happening around here and there is a museum literally 20 steps away. If you are keen on a little adventure around Coventry definitely stop by the Cathedral.

The ruins of Coventry cathedral is a really good place to come and see what is left after World War 2 and one of the biggest bombing raids During WW2. It's really interesting looking at what has been left and how it's been left as a memorial to the people of Coventry and the war. The new cathedral has been built to be part of the old cathedral and spent about an hour here worth a visit it's free to enter

A must visit if you are in Coventry and have some time to see. There are boards in the ruins that describe the history of the place including the events of the bombing of the cathedral in WW2. At the same time you can visit the stunning new cathedral constructed on the site right next to the ruin.

Wow so much history and have learnt something new about the area. A beautiful new cathedral but also ruins that tells a story from plaques around the cathedral and from visiting the museum also. Really worth a visit.

Very emotional place to visit. Right in the middle of the community and at the heart of the city centre.Reminds us all of the devastating effects of war. But its very uplifting too with lots of messages of hope and forgiveness all around the site.If you go to Coventry it's a must you visit this site.its also great how it's linked to the new Cathedral. Its very well done

A potent reminder of the sometimes indiscriminate destruction of war. Make sure you go up the old tower for an overview. Didn’t have time to go into Basil Spence’s 20th century cathedral next door which also looks great imho, I will do next time!

Our beautiful silver Birch Tree- felled by HS2 lays resting for a night in the ruins. A symbolic and fitting tribute that, like the Cathedral, we can rebuild what we have destroyed. October 16th 2021. We are Walking Forest, Coventry- and we need to restore and repair our woodlands for the next generation.

A beautiful place to visit. A stunning place to come and visit and learn about the ruins pf the Cathedral. The tower access was closed when we visit but it would have been amazing to see the view from above. St Michael cathedral is stunning. We spent about 30-40 minutes to visit and the whole place is enlightening, welcoming and staff, priests are very nice. Definitely one of our favourite site to visit in Coventry. We are bumped we forgot to buy a magnet for our fridge collection 😞. Anyway, beautiful place and surroundings. We visited the site at dusk but also in the morning and both times were unique and stunning. 🙏😊❤️

Very beautiful place, there are stands explaining its history. Unfortunately the tower is closed and you cannot go up, but there are quite a few things to see.
