Oh my god. Brunch here is epic. I always take visitors from out of town here when they visit. It’s blows away and impresses everyone. They have a awesome beer menu too. Every bite and every drink takes your taste buds to heaven. So yummy!

Atmosphere: clean, laid back and casual. Fish and chips: Amazing! Service: excellent I love a good plate of fish and chips so I decided to try this place. They have an expansive outdoor seating area that is warm and inviting with wooden tables and plants. Most of the area is covered and they can enclose it by lowering the side curtains if the weather is bad. The fish and chips were excellent. Perfectly battered, crisp and juicy. The home made tartar sauce had capers in it and it was good as well. The service was excellent. I got my food approx. 10 min after ordering. The wait staff was attentive. There is also an attached parking lot with dedicated parking which is a big plus. Overall great experience. I will return.

Love coming here for the cheeseboard and beers!! Usually come in and seat yourself. Servers will come by fairly quickly to get you situated. This time got the pretzels but not a huge fan of the cheese dip (just not for me). Everything else is quite tasty. Also stopped in for a mini celebration, so super jazzed for the dessert.

If you want brunch early, show up before they open! This place is pretty popular. We were there for a few hours on Sunday and it was moderately busy the entire time. The service was fantastic! Our server Alisa was super attentive and friendly. There's an Essay Benedict pictured and I ordered the Traditional Breakfast with scrambled eggs and bangers (sausage links). The potatoes were cooked well. I did add pepper to all my food but it wasn't a deal breaker because everything was cooked to perfection. We shared some dessert. The brownie and Belgian chocolate syrup sundae was extremely delicious. Next time I'm going to start with dessert. I highly recommend this place and I'll certainly be coming back soon!

I've been here twice with my boyfriend and we loved it both times! The atmosphere both inside and outside both have great, old, European pub vibes. The first time I ordered their Fish and Chips, which were deliciously flaky on the outside and tender on the inside. The second time we both ordered the Monk Burger and we split the Loaded Cheese Fries, and everything was decadent and tasty and filling. The service is always nice and attentive. Parking is a pain in this area, if you're lucky you can get a spot in their free lot in the back, otherwise would recommend just doing valet. The other negative I had was that I had their Blood Orange Marg and it was so salty to the point I couldn't finish it. Regardless, I would definitely love to come back here again for great food, atmosphere, and drink selection.

Wish we went hungry! The place was packed so we knew that had to mean something good. We were able to find a seat on the inside and ordered a beer. They had some Oktoberfest beers and other specials for Oktoberfest. We had just come from dinner and my husband couldn't help himself and ordered the beef stew! He did not regret it at all, said it was one his favorite stews he's tried and said it was bursting with flavor. I know to go hungry next time as they had a great menu with a variety of pub fare.

Recommended for lunch. Arrived right at opening at 3pm. Had free reign of choosing to sit anywhere I wanted. Parking was easy, right next to the building. Seems like a popular spot for the weekends. Decent menu options. For food & drinks. Tried an Irish Old Fashioned/Moscow Mule. Then too many to count with the El Chapo shots. Yooooo, I’m hook like a pirate now. I think between the two of us, we ordered 8 in total. I like the pub style vibe because it makes you feel like you are not in Dallas once you walk into the place. I got lost in the shenanigans. 🥳 Rose, was fast and a great server. Thanks to her, I’ll make the attempt to replicate the popular El Chapo shot because it really does get the people GOING!!! Had the veggie burger and fries. Solid! No misses. The ranch is good too. Interested in some of the other food options, so there will be a next time visit. Maybe brunch!!! The area can get a little busy so if you want the comfort of finding quick parking without the people, arrive early/opening hour. Feel free to go alone. Sit at the bar. Be one with self. Become wise. Drink and be merry. Reflect. Or just reinvent yourself and be a Monk of modern times. 🤔

Had a great experience! Drinks were incredible. We got our food before we tastes our drinks. Food was exactly as described! Love that. Server was on point. It just so happens that The Porch was not taking anymore reservations(with a half empty dining room on a Friday night) so we said lets try out the Old Monk never been(which was completely full!) The Porch missed out because we will be back at the The Old Monk. Be sure to tag this to the Porch page 😉-Chef Aundre, World Food Champ...

Came here for breakfast with my friends on Sunday. I recommend getting there early, as everyone knows how spectacular the food here is. I ordered the biscuits and gravy with chicken and it was as amazing as it looks. 10/10 will be back!

I really enjoy this place. Very laid back pub environment. Lots of beer selection, the service has been good both times I've been. It's hands down the best fish and chips I've ever had. The sliders we had were really flavorful and the pretzel was beyond yummy!! Easy parking as well!!

4 stars only because we went on St. Patrick's Day lunchtime, had to wait on a table-u have to sit yourself. I ordered vegetarian Reuben, the portobello mushroom was tough, otherwise I liked the combination of ingredients. I ordered a side of german potato salad- forgetting it had bacon in it.

Sat at the bar and chatted up the bartender for a bit about the name and took a look around the ambience. Very neighborhood oriented for socializing. Friendly.

The Monk is simply a chill vibe and a happy karma space. Service is spotty when you first arrive because it's usually packed and it's seat yourself. Drinks are great, food is delicious - old fashioned pub food. Parking is tight, walk if you can but if you can't, leave the land cruiser at home and break the mini out. Don't miss the veggie burger if that's your jam, it's amazing.

I had a wonderful time at this bar. The food was delicious and satisfying, and the drinks were refreshing and creative. The service was friendly and attentive, and I felt very welcome. I can't wait to come back and try more of their offerings..

First timers tonight, we enjoyed immensely. Had to sit outside because it was crowded, and we thought it would be unbearable being 105 degrees, but the misting fans really helped. All the food was delicious, and I definitely recommend the pretzel and cheese board.

Nice drink options and tasty food. Minus one star because it took around 25 mins for our waiter to take our first order. Not a big deal as it was a busy night. Overall a good place for loud music and pub vibes! Tips: small parking lot & seat yourself

The old monk has been one of my go to spots for a while - it’s closest to a pub you really get in Dallas. The eggs Benedict florentine style is amazing - Even the veggie sausage is bomb. Apparently their chef is a vegan! The frites are amazing, and I haven’t really had a bad meal there yet. Expect a wait for brunch but it won’t be long. And it’s worth it!

One of the best place in Dallas to have a great time, drinking great beer and eat good food. Come and celebrate saint Patricks day.

Always love going to the The Old Monk. It makes me happy, and sends me back to Europe (if only for a little while). Food is excellent and creative yet true to traditional dishes. Lovely and prompt, yet unobtrusive, staff. Brunch outside on a bright day, alone or with company, is heaven. Food and drinks inside in the evening is a comfort bubble. Yesterday I was mourning the loss of a pet (....I’m one of those sensitive types....) on a rather dreary night. Their environment, mushroom appetizer, lentil soup and hot toddy helped immensely to ease my soul for a bit.
