Disappointing…we booked to stay at the Park Royal with a newborn baby as it is a good location to fly out the next day. However we encountered issues from the moment we arrived. TV not working properly (quarter of the screen blacked out) when we asked for it to fixed we were told there was nothing they could do about it and laughed. The pool and spa was closed as well as not being notified that the hotel was being utilized as a quarantine facility for international travelers even though we called to book directly to the hotel. We feel as though we have paid full price for accommodation for nothing ($395.00) and have deceived. Would have appreciated to be notified of the above things at the time of booking and being able to make the correct choice for the safety of my newborn baby.

For a hotel with super ratings, we were extremely disappointed! The room we were booked into didn't have a kettle or tea. Upon entering the room we noticed greasy fingers on the bench, on the mirrors and coffee table. There were hairs from previous guests in the bathroom. Stains of unknown origin on the bed sheets. The carpet wasn't vacuumed. I'm not one to usually complain but the kids didn't feel comfortable. I called reception and the woman I spoke to offered a cleaner to come clean the room. We waited and waited and waited some more. I ordered room service. The food arrived, we ate and then waited some more. Finally the cleaner arrived, she went around the room with a dry cloth and left. The clean didn't wipe off the greasy fingerprints or remove any bed stains. We were offered another room. Again we had to wait. Meanwhile, they'd switched everything off in the current room. We sat there with no air-conditioning, no TV. Half an hour or longer, reception came up and collected us and moved us to a smaller room. The pool was under maintenance so kids couldn't go for a swim. We've stayed at many different hotels around Australia and I'd have to say this was hands down the worst! The only thing this hotel has going for it is that the airport is a stones throw away.

This is a great hotel! Not only is it super convenient but the rooms are lovely and the breakfast is excellent. The best part of this hotel however are it’s staff! I have stayed here several times over the years and always found the staff to be incredibly helpful. I am profoundly disabled and use a wheelchair and the hotel have gone above and beyond to accommodate me. On my most recent stay, I was suddenly taken very unwell and needed hospital treatment. The desk staff and duty manager Cameron were just amazing, I cannot thank them enough. I will always stay here when I transit via Melbourne, I 100% recommended this hotel.

Great place to stay when Jetstar cancels your flights, or you have a Melbourne stopover. Rooms are newly renovated and refreshingly modern. It reminds me more of a residential studio apartment so easy to relax. The gym is functional, with treadmills, bikes and weights. The pool is 12 metres, so nice to relax in. Both are small, so at any peak period is going to be busy. Staff were very nice, and you could see they were used to the pressure of a flood of people from cancelled flights or arrivals. I should have taken more photos. OH! The block-out blinds are fantastic. Keeps the room dark so you can get the sleep you need. Didn't hear one aircraft land or take off either. I would stay here again on a short stopover. Well done!

Excellent location and nice rooms. Good service. Breakfast was good as well. The rooms were five star quality. Plenty of space. The location is what you will find it convenient..it's literally within the T2, T3 and International terminals..not even 100 meters to walk Highly recommend if you have early morning flight

An enjoyable stay at the ParkRoyal Melbourne Airport. The hotel is a short walk from the main terminals at the airport. We stayed in a room on one of the higher floors and had terrific views across to the terminal and tarmac. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. We dined in the Airo restaurant for dinner and the food was very good. Both Elijah and Angela looked after us well. We are very happy with this hotel and would stay once again. It is perfect if you are catching an early flight and don't want to battle with early morning Melbourne traffic. Here are some photos of the hotel, views and food. Hope they prove useful for others.

We had a 13 hour wait until our international flight. We rented a room for a few hours , got a good rest and was able to charge up before the flight. Very convenient being right opposite Melbourne airport, if you have the same wait time I would recommend it vs sitting on the hard airport seats and waiting. Smash the like button if you came here because of the post.

Stayed for one night before returning to NZ. Positives: I booked the spa suite and received a warm friendly greeting the staff at reception and the room was lovely and luxurious. Staff also accommodated to my gluten allergy letting me know what I could have and then putting aside a platter of desserts just for me at dinner. My partner felt unwell during our dinner (from general tiredness of the trip) and they offered us to come back later and take some food back to our rooms as my partner can't eat very fast when he's unwell. The man who was the restaurant manager I presumed was lovely and we really appreciate the service. Negatives: The spa bath spluttered water everywhere all over the floor but we called reception and they sent up towels promptly. We booked dinner online and it turned out to be a buffet not order off the menu as we had expected and we assumed it would be a reasonable price but was shocked to see on the bill it was $130 for two people and we only had a quarter of a plate of some chicken curry, small salad and small bowl of fruit. Would have been good to know the price beforehand but it was like they were trying to hide that and glaze over that aspect. The aircon was on max fan and lowest setting and was still hot and the TV didn't work to begin with plus we were charged items from the mini bar we didn't have. Breakfast was included and I was happy to see on the Billboard it said gluten free bread as I would have liked some toast but at the bread station I didn't see any and was sick of having to ask so just had something else. Would have been nice to offer hot chocolates also for those who like hot drinks but don't drink coffee. Overall I'd say a good stay but a few disappointing surprises price wise and for some issues with the facilities and food allergy accommodations.

We stayed for quarantine. The double king room was spacious and light, a little dated. The windowsill seemed to have been missed in the cleaning. The coffee tsbke veneer was peeling and the couch had no spring, needs replacing in terms of comfort. The beds are ok and the service was very helpful and nice. We are spending a LOT of time in the room which i suspect visitors in normal times would not usually.

We stayed here for the convenience of the location. Situated just across the road from Melbourne airport arrivals, it is easy & convenient to access after a delayed late flight! We had a room overlooking the runway, which was very comfortable & clean. Only let down was the buffet breakfast, which was pretty basic & slow to top up offerings

Excellent location - 2min walk to terminal 2 if you walk slowly. Rooms - clean, plenty of space for luggage, excellent bathroom layout (shower placed away from walkway so you don't have to walk across wet tiles everything you go into bathroom). Really comfortable room. Service - brilliant; swift and very polite at check in and check out. My only complaint was the room door/room sound proofing. I heard room service rolling carts and shuffling plates, I heard other guests rolling bags along the hallway, I heard next door guests opening and closing doors (granted, perhaps that guest was just super loud so not the hotels 'fault'). The noise from the hallway was so clear and loud that it sounded as though my door was open (it wasn't, I checked).

Booked a room to save us from getting up at 2am to catch the early morning international connection. The room was spacious enough for a family with adult kids. The front was very professional and efficient. But we didn't get to sleep overnight. Not even 10 minutes. We heard every noise coming from the hallway, upstairs rooms, and next doors. We gave up sleeping and watched the movie all night until we had to checkout. The location is perfect, but it wasn't built for comfort.

Staff were fantastic... Room was nice and comfortable and the buffet breakfast was good. Unfortunately the quality of the food of my room service order was well below average and disappointing.

Booked an overnight stay for 51st wedding anniversary. Given confusing info as to where to park drove around airport looking for hotel car park. Finally parked in general car park. Room was OK except for noise of heavy footsteps from above. Paper thin walls enabling all intimate sounds from adjacent room to be clearly heard. Late night noisy voices in corridor, doors banging etc. As result checked out and went home at just after 2.00am. Hotel did kindly arrange my parking fee and the staff I dealt with were helpful. However my wife and I will not be back.

While it was lovely and comfortable, they didn't provide the breakfast that I preordered and when I asked about it when I checked out, they told me it was too late to do anything. They never told me what to do during check-in and didn't confirm it even though I had paid for it in full. Very disappointed

My husband and I stayed at this hotel as we were on a surf trip to UrbanSurf for three days, two nights. The location was great, about $14 per trip to hotel and back. I cannot fault the hotel itself, it was very clean and the room was better than we expected. Bathroom and bedroom were very clean and bed was very comfy. Our trip was purely surf based, I would recommend this hotel and we would probably stay here again in the near future. We also were upgraded to a higher level, very pleased.

The first time I have stayed at Melbourne airport hotel. The rooms a re fair size, and well appointed. The airport side views are great, looking over the terminal and runways, off to the distant hills. The rooms are also very, very well noise proofed. Most city hotels would be much noisier. Only once did I hear a faint jet blast. The hotel is a little tired, but is in the middle of renovation. So hopefully better again when these are completed.

This hotel saved me when my booking fell through at a neighbouring hotel. They were able to accommodate me when I turned up unannounced at 2:30am, tired after a long travel. Prices were quite steep but at short notice and so well located next to the terminal, it was acceptable. The room was very comfortable, and the bathroom facilities welcome and relaxing after a long journey!

Excellent location and very nice rooms. Good service, staff are lovely. In room menu and meals was great. The rooms were five star quality. Plenty of space. And a small lounge! The location is super convenient..it's literally in front International and domestic terminals not even 100 meters to walk Highly recommend if you have early morning flight

I don't mind paying more because the hotel is opposite the departure gates, but $460 for 1 night in a worn out room, dirty, stained carpets, damaged coffee table, a settee so hard I'm in fear of rectum damage, bathroom tile grout mouldy, and, worst of all, NO power outlets next to the two beds in the room. It really isn't good enough for $460. I'm a glutten for punishment, because I now recall I had the same issues when I last stayed here

Perfect location for a morning flight without worrying about morning traffic. Stayed in a deluxe king room $360 including breakfast. Great view over the airport, was worried it might be too noisy with planes talking off but was well insulated and relatively quiet. Bed was comfortable, room clean, slightly dated but nice. Buffet breakfast very tasty, omelette station, real coffee included. Would stay again

Bar Fridge was not open on arrival, had someone open it,put milk in it for Coffee next morning, fridge was Locked so couldnot have coffee. Good location for my work, great rooms with chromcast connection tv and finally an actual king bed that's not 2 singles pushed together. I've stayed in a lot of hotels and this is rare believe it or not. Only downside is no openable windows, Aircon only. Personally I like fresh air but great room nonetheless. Recommend

This used to be the airport Hilton many years ago and since it's changed hands, nothing has changed. Rooms and bathrooms are in need of a face lift, food and beverages I feel are over priced but for an overnight to catch a flight, it's worthy

  • 3/5 Nikita R. 9 months ago on Google
Conveniently located, for a highly ranked hotel the rooms are very outdated. Parking is horrendous and barely any extensive info provided except a recording when you call through. No signage to show you where to go and you have to park with everyone else parking at the airport so parking spots at peak hours are hard to find. You have to have a card to enter parking and pay when you leave which is very expensive. Staff in restraunt were great and the food superb.

Located just across the road from Melbourne airport, quick access once you leave the airport. Conveniently located above the rental cars. A quick stop before you head out of the airport. Best to access from the overhead bridge to avoid crossing the road. Use the lift to get to the reception at level 4.

Great location and, on front desk, a gentleman called David Lot was exceptional in his duty of care; he went above and beyond to help me find my lost property. He was wonderful! Thank you Parkroyal, I’ll certainly be back! Narelle

Was in a bind due to Jetstar cancelling a flight, and had to find a hotel last minute on a busy Saturday evening. Park royal unfortunately didn't have any rooms, however, their staff went out of their way to recommend some competitors nearby who could help and gave me their contact info, and offered me use of their facilities and offered refreshments while I called and arranged something. All done with friendly and empathetic service. Will 100% book in when I next need an airport hotel based on their service

I am writing on behalf of my 87 year old mother, Barbara. She was transiting through Melbourne airport on 29 NOV when her onward flight was cancelled. None of us live anywhere near Melbourne, so she was stranded and completely alone. She has limited mobility and requires assistance. Needless to say, we were beyond worried. I am so thankful we found the Parkroyal Melbourne Airport, and their wonderful team. We can't thank them enough for their kindness and professionalism. From the moment she was in their care she was safe, secure, comfortable and happy. Above and beyond doesn't even begin to describe the service they provided. They handled her bags, escorted her to her room, made sure she was comfortable, and arranged room service. Mum said the food was outstanding! She could not say enough good things about her experience, and the wonderful staff. And they helped her to her flight the next day! We can't thank the staff enough. It can be tough dealing with the public. Please know that your genuine care and kindness has a huge impact. This team deserves special recognition. On behalf of our entire family THANK YOU!

Absolutely love this hotel. Stayed many times & never disappoints. Staff are fantastic, attentive, helpful & always have a smile. Rooms are clean, well maintained & a good size. The only downsides are, automated drinks fridge. Can't put my coffee or tea in to cool down, and the robes seem on the small side. Will be back, a great place to stay.

Room booked for 6 months. Cancelled by PR less than 24 hours prior to check in due to renovations? Advised alternative accommodation would be organised at the Holiday Inn. It wasn't. Had to organise ourselves and pay premium price due to time frames. Poor work.

  • 5/5 Craig C. 5 months ago on Google
If you have to stay at the airport (because flights got cancelled), this is a good option. Across the road from the airport. They even let me use the wifi all of the next day until there was a plane that was leaving Melbourne. In room food is $$ but costs similar in the terminal.

I have had the pleasure of meeting both Vivian in the bar and Maddison at the front of house and on transport. Both are wonderful women and amazing at their jobs and I highly recommend them! The hotel is great however be aware that they are undergoing renovations. Their gym is not available and they are currently on level 7 with their renovations which start at 0700 and noisy construction goes on throughout the day. So depending on your body clock it may be hard to get enough sleep.

Stayed in room 724. The room was horrible and not close to Pan Pacific standards. I was too tired to let the staff know and they were fully booked. The room was a disaster - carpet had a huge rip, walls were covered with black scuff marks, the black chair had so much dust and a rip in it, the walls had finger prints, one towel had a long hair in it, chair by the bed had food on it, and shower tiles were loose. I spent 15 minutes cleaning and wiping down items. I felt very uncomfortable and only slept for 5 hours and left the room for the airport. However, the staff were very nice and I appreciated the friendliness. I would appreciate a manager to reach out to me.

Easy out the door from airport to hotel across street. Dinning was in construction so not much to eat. Carpets so thick could barely tug luggage down hall. Reservation didnt match what was booked. Front desk a little rough on friendly vibe. Over all nothing scary but a place to rest

My wife and I stayed in the Park Royal yesterday. We arrived early in the morning after a sleepless overnight flight tired and short on humour. We didn’t have any reservation and approached looking for a room we would need for half a day. The reception team were fantastic and empathetic - exactly what we needed at that moment and we got a beautiful room we could access straight away with the most comfortable bed. The staff at the hotel - reception and breakfast area - were polite, helpful and friendly and are a credit to the hotel. If you need a place to stay right next to the airport stay here. It doesn’t get any better.

This is my second quarantine in Melbourne. Day one at Park Royal, dinner was great. Room is spacious. It's a good start. Cant find the TV remote. Will call the receptionist in the morning. My first quarantine is at the M€r@#r€ Hotel in the CBD. What a terrible experience.

Perfectly located opposite T2&T3 terminals. I was on level 9 with a window view over the airport & runway which was amazing . Restaurant is under construction so a temporary one on floor 5 is at the moment.. Both food & drinks are very overpriced so would recommend to perhaps head over to the airport if you didn’t want to go into the city . Minibar has a 30 second alert on if you take something out so make sure you put it straight back in if you don’t use it as it’s charged straight to your room . Otherwise, accommodation was perfect !!

We were told that our included breakfast was full menu. Breakfast arrived with only 1 serving instead of 2 then we were charged $76. Room smelt like urine and was definitely far from clean. The bathroom was beyond disgusting. Mould, soap scum and toothpaste up the walls. After making a complaint we were offered a refunded the breakfast charge and offered a discount on any further stay. After nearly a $600 bill for 1 night, needless to say we will NOT be coming back to receive our offered discount.

Pleasant stay at this hotel, nice staff. One thing you want to make sure if your ordering room service is to follow up coz they may have forgotten to jot it down.

  • 5/5 Steve B. 2 years ago on Google
Ok the rooms are small, but comfortable. The check in was seemless, the staff very friendly and accommodating (pardon the pun). Then I went and had a few drinks at the bar. The prices were very reasonable, the bar staff friendly and helpful. At the Restaurant, the food was brilliant. I had possibly the best eye filet I have had for a long time. It was cooked to perfection and paired beautifully with the mushroom jus. Followed by the Sticky Date Pudding, the meal was exceptional. The wait staff excelled with everything. I would return here in a heart beat.

Great. We arrived from Rome via Dubai at about 10pm. We flew economy and on landing were delirious! Staying here for the night was so easy: the check-in staff were great, the bed was very comfortable and the breakfast really good. We both slept well and felt surprisingly normal the next day. For the small outlay, it was one of the best things we did this trip and is something we'll do in the future.

Perfect location for transiting overnight or business near the airport. Rooms are a few years old but are modern and well kept. Housekeeping keep the rooms very clean. Room service was quick, a great choice of options however the overnight menu seems to be more limited now than i remember from previous stays. Staff were very friendly. Quick and easy check in and check out. Rooms are quiet despite being at the airport so aircraft noise isnt a problem however there was a family staying on the floor and the kids kept runing up and down the hallways. This was a problem and had to phone reception. Received recognition and a room upgrade. Good value for the rate paid.

Top choice if you need to be close to the airport. You literally can take your trolley from terminal into your room! Rooms and hotel are clean and service is good. My check in was quick and smooth but an hour later I saw a crowd at check in.

Great spot, food til late and polite staff. Great if you need to be close for flights the next day, only a small walk from the terminals over footbridges. Views over airport good too.

Our stays here for both work and holidays are reliably good. We have only ever done overnight or short term stays. The location suits our needs, the rooms are well-appointed for what we need and the meals are good quality. Right now, everything is getting back up to speed post COVID and we were prepared for a drop in standard but were really pleased that all was as we remembered!

  • 2/5 Nudita R. 1 year ago on Google
Our room was a business suite runway views, the bathtubs didn’t work properly and the carpet was ripped. The tea and coffee bar was put right under the wardrobe so when you hang the clothes in swap away all the tea and coffe packs. Why would you put a tea& coffee bar with no electric court in it? 🤔 You put the customer with no option but have to stay here because of late flights but really awful service. Much better to find other accommodations around. Not worth it!

Honestly I've been checked in for less than an hour and I'm so happy I decided to pay extra to stay here than other hotels nearby. Check in was easy. The highlight though was a standout employee Jasmine who did not judge me for being a little bit, I guess jet lagged. She brought me a lovely cold bottle of water when my "looking" couldn't find any. I eventually found it (right in front of me in the fridge). Another star performance comes from the bed. I'm lying on a cloud right now, wrapped in another fluffy robe cloud. The 24 hour reception was perfect for my late and delayed flight. I'm only here for a short time but I will definitely stay again if I'm transiting. Oh and the view of the airport is quite cool too. 10/10

Great clean room, nice and roomy and the blinds are the best blackout blinds. The breakfast buffet was great. Had everything you can think off. The only complaint I have is that the bar staff complained a lot. Complaining they have to work on a public holiday. Their rate of pay. They closed early because they had to clean. Just not what I wanted to hear as I'm trying to relax after I've just finished work.

I made a mistake with booking date so didn’t actually have a room tonight and the check in staff where turning people away due to the hotel being booked out. 2 kids and a hubby looking to sleep in the car at the airport overnight due to my mistake. Manager Kathryn stepped up and made sure we had a room, so grateful. Comfy beds, wine brought to the room, happy kids, happy me. Thanks!

Expensive for a hotel where the room is rundown and when checked it the basin was full of water. The bathroom not that clean and the gym is not 24/7 as it says on website. Convenient for airport early flight but definitely wouldn’t stay there again for the price tag. I go with those with free shuttle and better service but slightly further.

Fantastic service and location, great breakfast. Really lovely to get off the aircraft and walk to your accommodation late at night. The room we stayed in is simply showing signs of age, the carpet is even down to threads in a couple of places. The view was fantastic.

We had a super early flight so we decided to stay at the hotel instead of trying to wake up at 2am and then drive for an hour to get here. It was a good decision. The room was comfy and all that we needed except that we only had 1 coffee mug instead of 2 so we had to share. Otherwise, we had a really good sleep and less stress travelling.

Excellent service, comfy bed but pillows were a bit too soft. Very quiet - considering it's so close to the airport it's very peaceful. Facilities are clean and very nice. Would definitely stay here again.

Nice but noisy when windy. While my stay was pleasant and location was perfect, my room when windy was so noisy I couldn’t sleep. Don’t know what it was but something outside the building I think was constantly banging, scrapping and grinding when windy. Unfortunately the night I stayed was windy and heard this noise most of the night and it got progressively worse at around 3am when the wind picked up. So didn’t really get a good night sleep at all.

It’s a lovely place to stay and can’t beat that it’s right next to the airport. However, need to do something better with parking. Not all of the staff members knew information about parking and we ended up paying more than what we should have because the two people at reception at that time had no idea about parking.

I’m writing review 6am in the morning at the hotel lobby. I booked for 3 hours day use. When I was checking in, the lady at the counter said I had to wait to 7am due to the rule. She also said the room wasn’t available until sharp 7am. I knew that day use is starting from 7 but it should be a bit more flexible since this is airport hotel. Most hotel I’m traveling and staying are more flexible and I can commute with friendly staff, but not this hotel. Dispute of this painful event, I still had to stay due to the location conveniently located to the airport. I think that why they don’t need to care the customer. I’m staying Park loyal Monash too and I feel they are more flexible and giving better service than here. One of the worst experiences in my travels here at Park Loyal.

Stayed here in order to save time for an early flight the next morning, it was very convenient and took a lot of the stress out of travelling to the airport first thing. Rooms are in the process of being upgraded. The rooms were surprisingly quiet given you're right next to the airport! There was a bar and restaurant and breakfast was included in the morning, making it all very convenient. Would definitely stay here again when we have an early flight.

Special thanks to Debby, Jessica, Sandy and Catherine at reception, and Aimee at airo for making my stay so pleasant. There were some other lovelies too. The room was very clean, and some lovely toiletries provided, big bathroom, bath, shower and toilet. A couple of things interfered with a perfect 5. Don't leave a bill under the door at 4am when the customer has already paid. I found the guy who answered my call at reception at 4am on 27th June was a bit lazy. That's my opinion. Priorities priorities, don't go sending unnecessary invoices, when you could be helping elsewhere. It's just annoying for some guests who perhaps really wanted a real coffee to be brought up to the room but some seem too concerned with wasting time in the office rather than helping a customer get a coffee. Feedback: get coffee machines for the rooms.

Rating as a seminar venue. It's very convenient if some of the team are flying in. Well sound proofed (even better than cbd ones, definitely can't hear planes). Team who stayed the night were happy with it. Staff were friendly and attentive. Only minor issues for them to improve are the food labelling (labelling each dish and being clear on vegetarian vs vegan), and system for validating parking (had to wait a while in a queue and front desk staff were a bit confused).

😐 Tried this place and my experience was not that great. The food quality is not good & taste is below average. Not sure why this place is famous when there are many restaurants that serve great Indian food with quality, quantity & price.
