A fantastic park with wonderfully maintained gravel trails. We observed a lot of birds and small rodents that just made the experience so much more enjoyable.

Such a beautiful and many trails for exercise and relaxing for family outdoor fun at Shubie Park. Especially in Autumn, I love to come here to see leaves changing colors. A lot of parking spaces are available there. So come to Shubie Park to enjoy a year round scenery and take many gorgeous pictures for your memories.πŸ™‚πŸ‘πŸŒ±πŸŒΎπŸ€β˜˜πŸŒΏπŸŒ³πŸŒ²πŸπŸ‚πŸ’•

Our go-to park for walks. Many paths to explore and never get tired of being here. Many trails from easy round the small pond to longer, more challenging. A separate dog walking trails for those with dogs and many benches to sit. Never had a problem with parking neither, it is accessible from at least four parking areas. We prefer stopping by Fairbanks Centre on Locks Road but if you do not mind crossing over the highway and tackling a set of stairs, you find the largest parking lot behind Cineplex Cinemas in Dartmouth Crossing shopping area. It's nature and some history. Worth exploring at any time of the year.

This is my absolute favourite park to take my dogs. Their off leash section is big enough that you can get a good walk in. Lots of squirrels and "watering holes" and you can end your walk with the best beach for any pet. I try to bring my dogs here 3-4 days a week just because my pitty is a pup and I want to socialize him as much as possible in his 1st couple years. He is loving it and the interactions with other dogs. I find the other patrons of the park tend to be very friendly and open with what their pets are comfortable with. There doesn't seem to be many stray "people" who don't like dogs in this section, which is a bonus in itself, as some dogs can be frightening to most. Definitely recommend this park to take your pets or even just to take a leisurely walk through the trails.

Of the dog parks in the HRM that are off-leash, i believe it to be the best one available. Friendly dogs on the trails daily, with about a 1.5km big line for the dogs and you to walk, plus all the interweaving connections give a fair amount of dog run. A bajesus amount of squirrel and bird, mushrooms and ferns, the canal, the lakes , the beach, the trail room. No crazy time managing for trails, or size of dogs, so crazy big hills, or people launching frisbees left and right, no kids at school kicking the ball where they and the dogs are walked, and oddly to my knowledge, no huge tick issue.

This is a beautiful park, I always take my family to visit this park. One day, My child and I were walking in the park. I saw a squirrel was standing on the stump, and he was eating some sunflower seeds. He is so cute!

Beautiful park in the city! Lots of beautiful trails with small wildlife (birds, squirrels, chipmunks). Lots of signage. It would be very helpful if the signs had a "You are Here" indicator. It is quite difficult to determine where you are on some of signs as you at a crossroads spot in the woods. Otherwise a beautiful park for all ages.

One of the beautiful getaway locations within city. There is a trail to walk or you can fish/kayak or just tube on the water. Tends to be crowded with tourists sometimes but other than that, good walk close to nature and to have a short picnic.

I've been here too many times to count and it never stops amazing me how lucky we are to have such a little gem of a park nestled so close to the core of the city. Beautiful walking paths any time of the year, a fantastic paddle up the canal in the warmer months, and a great place to bring a dog to let them get some exercise. I haven't gone swimming here but judging by the amount of people that are here in the summer I assume it is a great little beach!

One of my favourite parks in the HRM. The canal in the middle of it makes it so beautiful. The thick forest right in the city feels like a different world. The park is easily accessible by public transport. Also quite a good number of parking are available. Restrooms are adjacent to the parking area. The canoe looks very good but I didn't try. Loved the picnic area at the end of the walking trail. There are a lot of friendly squirrels who will love the peanuts. There are mosquitos so you may consider bringing some repellent. Overall a good place to spend a summer or fall weekend.

Great spot to walk the dogs off leash, or if you like to paddle the canal and lake are a great adventure within the city.

Amazing place to visit, had a lot of fun over there. The whole park is beautiful and has some water streams here and there as well. It felt very natural and saw many cute animals like ducks(a bunch of 'em) and squirrels. If you like natural beauty, you got to visit it.

The well-maintained greenery and serene atmosphere make it an ideal spot for a peaceful stroll or a relaxing afternoon picnic. The park's thoughtful layout provides various recreational options, making it suitable for both individuals and families. Whether you're looking for a quiet escape or a place for outdoor activities, Shubert Park is worth a visit.

Shubie is a great walk. It has a great dog park. Many beautiful trails that run along the lakes and stream. Great signage and plaques with lots of info on how it was built and used for. Has a nice ice cream Shack that has food as well. There is a place to rent kayaks with a launch. A beautiful walk with lots of animals and birds to help clear your mindπŸ€™

just returned from camping at Shubie Park and really enjoyed our stay. The grounds are well maintained and the staff were friendly and helpful. Even though the weather has been extremely challenging this year, not only for the park but the whole area, they have done a great job making our camping experience an enjoyable one. We had a great time!

Best park in Dartmouth. Lots of trails and walkways and gives the feeling of dense forest. Really tall trees over the head. Squirrels, ducks, birds can be spotted. Even though there are several boards says that not to feed these looks like they are very used to hand feed. A walk through the trails is definitely a stress relieving treatment. Kayaking also available for rent

I love this place. It is a fav park of a uddy of mine and I'm glad he introduced me. Now when I go visit, we make this tradition. You get to see all the cute puppies, little wildlife, great trails, nice views, tranquil sounds and it's simply a place of serenity. Wish we had a place like this down here in the valley.

Such a great place to walk, either by yourself or with your SO, or even with a group. It can be busy on the weekends, but during the week it's fairly quiet.

Best local park/dog park/off leash/beginner trails... Love The canal locks, kayaking between them is beautiful. So many cute furry friends to meet while walking. With your time.

πŸ‘ Great place for interesting food and handmade goods. There was a variety of coffee cookies pretzels and other baked goods. There was also a type of fast-food restaurant with seafood. The prices seemed a little high but overall a great market. Parking is plentiful and accessible.
