This is the only JP Licks branch that I love. I call it JP Licks headquarter between my friends. I have a lot of enjoyable memories of eating ice cream here in outdoor sitting with my friends. Great vibe in downtown of Jamaica Plains. Highly suggest this place for a night out with friends and family.

It's just an okay ice cream place and sometimes benches outside are not kept clean. There are plenty of items on the menu but the taste is not that great except for a few items. The prices are also on the higher side.

This rating is for an employee named Cleo behind the counter. When I told them my order, it’s like they totally zoned out and gave me a funny look… then said “WHHHHAT’S up???” It was a really strange and unexpected vibe. I don’t know if they were new or if there was more going on. They kind of stood around like they didn’t know how to go about the order (3 medium cups and 1 medium cone). As I waited for my order in line, another employee named Ian was so pleasant and professional and asked if I needed help to bring my order to the front. Kudos to Ian and hopefully next time I will be helped by Ian or anyone else but Cleo. Delicious flavors!

Having been a regular customer for years, I was shocked and disappointed to find out that JP’s “no sugar added” frozen yogurt is actually packed with sugar. Kudos to the employee who corrected me when I ordered “sugar-free froyo.” He explained that all that meant was that there wasn’t sugar in the flavor they added to the base. But the base mix still has plenty of sugar. Why even bother? And why not disclose it clearly to customers? I expect misleading statements from politicians, but not my local ice cream shop. So disappointed.

Awesome ice cream. Tons of flavors. Prepackaged ice cream. Indoor and outdoor seating. Bathrooms were pretty clean considering they allow public use. Friendly staff. The only complaint I have is it's a little pricey. But I noticed they are hiring and they seem to pay good wages. So maybe that's why the prices are what they are.

The ice cream is incredible! We love coming to this location. Lewis and Jesse are great employees. Both are friendly and seem to care. I wish they would open up in Maine. Maybe one day.

Great, traditional ice cream in fun flavors. Scoops are HUGE. I love ice cream but even a small here can be hard to finish. A kid size is equal to a normal serving. They also have decent breakfast and coffee options. Usually big lines in the summer evenings, even during the week. Pretty fast service, though.

They have it all! I think it’s fair to say it’s rare for food spots to have both a great cafe service and also excellent ice cream selections, but J.P. Licks does. Their dog friendly ice cream is a puppy’s dream. The have roomy seating both inside and outside the cafe making it a great spot to hang out on a summer evening.

Staff was asked if coffee ice cream had caffeine in it. They said no. While my daughter starts to eat it... I look on the website and it describes it as having plenty of caffeine. She only got a couple of licks in, hopefully she can go to sleep tonight. Not cool.

They're racist. Last time I was there. The manager call a lady behind me he completely ignore me. The lady was white. I'm an spanic lady. I'm started to argument on him. He only said I didn't see you. I stop visit JP licks.

Ice cream is amazing and it used to be our favorite place for ice cream in boston but recently it has gotten SOOOOOO expensive i'd rather spend money to take my kids out for a meal then buy them a treat here. I understand inflation has been bad but still. The staff is always great, the selection is always decadent, and the vibe is quirky fun.

Good choices of ice cream. Prices high for a single scoop of ice cream. Lots of seats. Friendly staff.

They have options for ḍairy free but not much (3 options). It's a hit or miss with friendliness from employees. Open late for midnight cravings. Hipster feel for bougie ice cream price. Go to Wisconsin for better options like kitty kitty bang bang. But I'm biased cause I was raised in the real dairy state. Nothing like Midwest hospitality, eh? I got the mango sorbet with whipped cream for kicks.

Always had a wonderful experience at JP Licks till Dec 28 2022 where two incompetent employees tried to cheat me of 70 cents. I ordered a large Pumpkin Spice Chai priced at $5.80, which I paid for. Later, they said they were out of Pumpkin Spice and had only regular Chia, priced at $5.10. I said that meant I paid an extra of 70 cents and they said it's the SAME and refused a refund. I mean, the prices were on the board, who were they lying to?

Awful management!! Ian was horrendous towards a young girl in the morning when I came by she was clearly overwhelmed with the line and she even seemed a bit distraught. She was trying her best to serve all the customers but the display of “management” was honestly uncalled for in my opinion!

One of my favorites to stop at while in town. Very delicious, creamy, and smooth ice cream, frozen yogurt, and have toppings to add if wanted. They have gluten free, dairy free, and vegan options as well.

Everybody's been here and we all know that it's the place for gooey cold delicious sweet ice cream. Always with snappy decor and art as well as friendly servers. Be shrewd, though, and go at an odd hour. More room, no long line, less rush and people - it's just a more heavenly experience!

I love this ice cream shop! It smells like ice cream inside and has a fun family atmosphere with plenty of outdoor seating. They have lots of flavors both traditional and adventurous and are generous with tastes. Their hot fudge is the bomb. They have a wide range of non dairy/vegan sorbets, ice cream, and soft serve which I really appreciate. Minus one star because their vegan ice creams don’t have a good texture - they’re icy not creamy, more like sherbet - and because I found a pistachio shell in my last scoop of pistachio. Also, the prices are really high - it’s $9 for a sundae which isn’t very affordable if you’re bringing a family.
